no, kinda over them. how about some 90s references? why couldn't we see starlord and iron man fight thanos while listening to beastie boys' intergalactic or something?

>Quill's new Zune comes loaded with a bunch of 90's hits
Sounds good to me. Too bad Iron Man 3 already used I'm Blue.

yes especially when they are used to give a movie color and personality instead of grim darky darkness

I really like 70s music.
I honestly think we peaked there.

This shit is so appealing that Suicide Squad was basically an inferior copy in every way, and it STILL was hugely successful.

Yes, I like an exact total of 80 references.

I can't really disagree with this, but I'm biased towards disco.

There was a ton of variety besides that.

Find the post that said otherwise. I'll wait.

Nope. I get too many flashbacks to crack addicts, muggings and buildings being torched for insurance money.

I bet you a future Captain Marvel movie will use this song

youtube.com/watch?v=-I2i5cPHgW8

Isn't Suicide more successful? It didn't release in China and still made a lot of money. In retrospect, Aren't villain centric movies getting more appealing? Venom did well. Didn't it do better than Spider-Man?

Yeah, Asians love that suicide. Squad.

I appreciate Mantis more.

GotG2 actually made use of all the 80s shit better than the first, I think.
While the songs were used to frame each scene in the first GotG, the whole concept of the 80s pop culture thing is used to indicate arrested development and regression in 2 and I really thought that was cool

>>If what's between my legs had a hand on it, I guarantee I could have landed this ship.

The 80s had more variety, in fact per capita it had a more interesting and varied music scene than any other decade. Anything and everything was there from extreme metal and punk to bubblegum pop and anything in between. A lot of 70s music is just bland blues rock.

80/90s was a good era honestly,
Late 90 (98-99) is when everything fell off.

Also,
>70s bland.
Dude that's just wrong.

Shut the fuck up OP.

I came for the goofy and the music and stayed for the feels honestly

The only moment they overdid it was the Pacman fight.

what was living in the 80's like?

Attached: d103024a1374c1889aeb95e17dd90b70.jpg (236x236, 8K)

80/90s was Kino,
No social media except AOL and etc,
No cellphone (before it became widespread),
Malls were pack,
Women were in good shape (the exercise stairs era),
Unique hair styles,
People communicate more often (due to Lack of telecommunication with only phone cord and phone booths).
I could on,
It was amazing...

Oh and Diversity and Women Representations was Kino in that era and wasn't forces.

The list still goes on.

sounds amazing. They really didn't know how good they had it back then.

70s was the best for music
30s was the best for animation
80s was the best for movies
90s was the best for games

Oh get off it. The 80s were trash just like every other decade. Aids, Cold War, Reagan. Nostalgia is a curse that blinds you to reality.

I find it funny that malls are now considered a good thing when back then adults considered them the peak of soullessness because they killed downtowns

It's almost as if every generation claims it's the best, shits on the next, and doesn't give two fucks about any generation prior

This

Go to sleep Boomer...

Problem with a lot of 80s music is over-reliance on synthetizers that weren't really there in terms of quality, so you get decent compositions wasted on shitty sounds. Basically Genesis: the era.

>gotg
>DANCE OFF BRO
>gotg 2
>DUDE PACMAN
Can't wait to see that third movie.

>Didn't it do better than Spider-Man?
No.

Malls were good for hangouts,
People actually hanged out with their eyes glued to their smartphones.

>muh Reagan
>muh Cold War.

No have a shit about that except boomers like you.

zoom zoom zoom.

>without their smartphones.
Fixed.

Yeah, he either a Zoomer or a bitter ass boomer.

Are women really in worse shape in the US now?
In Europe we're in the gym era, people exercise way way more than with 80s infomercial memes.

That's why
Is better, it had a versatile of everything (Rock Music, Pop music etc).

Do you really think "only people who were adults then care" is a sound argument?

Shut up Euro. What is it with you smelly fucks always

Half of the userbase comes from out of the US user. You don't have to feel threatened by our superior physique and culture, I was merely asking a question.

the 80's was still fueled by vietnam-era fad aerobics and hardbodies were the standard so women were in incredible shape by today's standards.

Attached: a94174173d27b8b543cbbb60260d76c5.jpg (736x679, 99K)

Back in the 80s/90s there was a higher popular workout era. Women did alot of cardio and stepping stairs and So on. It was a great era. Women were in shape back then. Then the late 90s (98-99) and 2000s happen and everyone was in favor to the kim Kardashian "Thick and Curvy" shit and that's when it all fell down.

Triggered much?

Dude compared to the modern "Thick and Curvy" era right now. Women back then kept themselves healthy.

2 was great, ever better if you had a shitty dad. The sound track is a killer.

Malls were never going to last but they were pretty nice to be around when all the right economic factors lined up.

All of the stuff you mentioned wasnt affecting half of the society. The decent part at least.

Mostly because of all the cocaine.

>70s and 80s music was so fucking good bros
>proceeds to list basic as fuck dadrock
k

>triggered
Are you autistic? What makes you think I'm triggered, I'm merely questionning whether disregarding someone's opinion on the assumption they actually lived through the 80s is smart.
Kim Kardashian became famous and influencial in the late 2000s, not the late 90s.

brick and mortar stores aren't that great. I live in a rural town and driving for miles between stores is the bane of my existence. All of the malls went out of business in the early 00's and all thats left are stripmalls. I would kill for a Mall within 30 miles of my neighborhood.

>Women were in good shape
Lel, nothing has changed. Social media ha just made you more aware that this was never the case.
People are just more conscious of weight due to seeing tons of fit folks online.

Attached: CM3.png (700x990, 1.2M)

This always seemed like outliers to me, like something that was mostly true in LA and thus overrepresented in movies. I doubt every southern belle was actually doing steps.
I'd blame the current issue (people factually are fatter on average) more on food than lack of exercize, considering how trending fitness is. Even most "tick and curvy" women that people actually find attractive spend a lot of time exercizing so that they're only thick and curvy at the right places. But half the retards who go to the gym get a McDonald's "meal" and a Starbucks "coffee" as soon as they get out of it.

My, what a couple of beautiful, flat-chested girls.

>cocaine,
Compared to the other shit people using right now. I still love that era.

You sperging dipshit Zoomer.
Allow me to elaborate for your dumbass.
The late 90s (98-99) had the massive spread of the "Hip Hop" of rap compared to 80s Rap (which was somewhat good with LL Cool J). 90s rap employed the influences of "Big Booty Bitches" and the and popularity of having one. Kim Kardashian age came in 2000s and amped in up. Even now it's gotten worse with ass implants and body implants these women are doing to themselves.
Lurk moar.

Instagram thots are wannabes honestly.

Attached: 1555650907715 (1).jpg (267x258, 26K)

You should try reading a book for once. Medically speaking people are fatter and eat more than they used to. Women now weigh as much as men did in the 60's because of all the body positivity shit.

Are you having an aneurysm? You're literally admitting I was right in correcting you but you're being a complete bitch about it. And I'm 33.

>>No social media except AOL and etc,
>>No cellphone (before it became widespread),
What are you 60? Cell Phones are a fantastic invention that has made life easier all over the world
>Malls were pack,
They still are? Are you sure you just aren't going to malls anymore?
>Women were in good shape (the exercise stairs era),
You don't honestly believe that fat and lazy people just didn't exist do you?
>Unique hair styles,
Terrible hair styles, 80s hair was a complete shitshow.
>People communicate more often (due to Lack of telecommunication with only phone cord and phone booths).
Just because you don't have a social life nowadays doesn't mean no one else does.

Attached: haircut16.jpg (660x495, 105K)

McDonald use to have more higher calories foods back in the 80s/90s actually user. They have to take some of it off the menu eventually for health concerns reasons in later years lol.

If people just order more out of the shit it doesn't change much at the bottom line. I'm amazed by what people are capable of ordering at fast food places.

Zoomers go home!

Attached: Patience and Discipline.png (803x599, 353K)

I don't know bros, I think i'll stick with the women of today

Attached: NJrMEPd.jpg (1425x1900, 552K)

>What are you 60? Cell Phones are a fantastic invention that has made life easier all over the world
Yeah I prefer a cellphone other a smartphone

>They still are? Are you sure you just aren't going to malls anymore?
Do you have idea how many fucking malls and stores are being shut down?

>You don't honestly believe that fat and lazy people just didn't exist do you.
When did I said that dumbass.

>Terrible hair styles, 80s hair was a complete shitshow.
Get lost Zoomer.

>Just because you don't have a social life nowadays doesn't mean no one else does.

Actually it's the opposite of what's happening today.

Also mullets was around strong in the early 90s-95 actually when metal rock hit it around nitwit.

>flat-chested girls
I get the joke, but no.
Some folks just look wonderful in fetish ware

Attached: FGO Art2.jpg (564x846, 66K)

I love synth crust tho desu

>instagram stacy with nigger haircut

hard pass

Attached: 1550619857891.jpg (1080x1033, 101K)

I'm saying what ked to Kim Kardashian and the thick curvy era dingbat.

*led

I like that you're idea of debating me is to call me a stupid zoomer and refuse to elaborate on anything you're saying.

True

I just did child,
Now go to sleep and quit trying to get your 30 seconds of fame

No shit, and you're doing it because I pointed out that she didn't start it, champ.

>high ponytail is "nigger haircut"
You watch too much blacked porn.

Alright here let me do it like this,

90s Hip hop started the trend,
Kim Kardashian amplified it,
Ass implants and body surgeries made it worst.

I was alive then and I agree with him on the hair. I'm not down with perms.

I don't know what you think this post adds to the conversation.

it literally is a black woman ponytail though. Co-oped by white girls who are brainwashed by rap music videos.

Some people did their perms in a attractive way while others just made it weird for them. The Metal Rock hairstyle were favorite style but that just me.

*were my

>black woman ponytail
That's not braided.

Attached: Are you Stupid.jpg (861x665, 215K)

Farrah Fawcett had such good hair that even men wanted to style it like her. It's easy to say it looks dumb now because you're basically living in the future. In the future they'll say your haircut looks bad too.

>it literally is a black woman ponytail though.
But it isn't. Black women literally can't do that haircut without fake hair, they're immitating white women hair, not the other way around. You just have the tism.

>Black women literally can't do that haircut without fake hair
>haircut
It's a hairdo, inceloid.

It's both.

I'm bald, it's not exactly a trend. For every Farah Fawcett you had hundreds of Stevie Nicks.

Attached: stevie-nicks_glamour_1apr16_rex_b.jpg (1020x1530, 203K)

You can't actually cut your hair into a ponytail, you retarded neet.

Cute semantics.

Sudden urge for a jawbreaker.

Yes, but the term is used. Don't be call me a neet then bloody talk as if you lack socialization like a neet

>tfw media will skip the down to earth music and cinema the 90s had a handful of

you guys know there's a ton of good music out there right now

media will skip the 90's and the 00's because they were completely and utterly unremarkable. The only things that mattered were Y2K and 9/11.

>98-2000s.
Fixed that for you dude.
98 and so on is when it went to shit,
Thought I might be wrong though.

96 is when president Clinton passed a law that gave companies even more control over their IPs, and then we got Nu-metal and canadian media imports.

the 90's have nothing. Grunge was all 80's and gen Xer stuff. 90's is boy bands and pop overproduced crap.

This

I also love 70s music

Attached: 20160113_175008.jpg (800x357, 68K)

I need Space Oddity or something when Steve, Rocket, Carol and others will fly out for Thanos's butt.
It would be more K I N O

Dude the boomboxes came around the late 70s. Turntanles Record players were still a thing before boomboxes came out.

*Turntables

>Can't wait to see that third movie.

>gotg 3
>DUDE RAPING KIDS

Lads, why was this movie so fucking good?

>mantis will never hold you like that
why live

Even those three had some magic in them and to be honest i think there was something about cold war that affected a lot movies with people being scared of nuclear bombs dropping.

>80s references
Are there any? The music was all from the 70s, except one that was on the soundtrack, and unused in the movie itself.
Peter referenced what little he remembered as a kid, so there was at least some thematic connections for other stuff. Suicide Squad and Captain Marvel failed to have any emotional hooks, and missed why GotG worked in that sense

Fuck you, dadrock is great.
