Things go downhill fast in in the rest of season 3, pick back up a little bit toward the end and then go back downhill in season 4.

I think in a way it's actually kind of neat that the show/opening literally start with THIS IS STAR, SHE BEATS UP MONSTERS FOR FUN and then across the series she gets character development and moves away from that.

But the writing in that area just isn't good enough to pull it off, for Star or the monsters, and so it just makes you nostalgic for the days when the privileged white girl would go into the ghetto to torment the oppressed minority. Also I guess when you're trying to make a character in a comedy show a better person, you really risk fucking things up because if the writing isn't good enough to still keep them funny, they can end up just becoming boring and generically "nice" compared to what they were before.

They created an eleven-minute episode to state that Kellco ended off-screen even though it literally just became a thing. Then they created another eleven-minute episode to state that Eclipsa is going to get a coronation next episode.

I think people are missing the bigger picture. Cornonation pretty much wrapped up most of the show's charcter arcs and plotlines. Eclipsq and Globgor are proven to not be be evil just misunderstood. The MHC finally got put in its place and one of them is arrested. Mewni people and monsters are united by Globgor and Eclipsa. Moon is happy no longer being queen and Star is done with Eclipsa deciding to be a normal teen from now on.

Coupled with the last couple episodes where Kellco is done, Marco decided not live on Mewni, the Blood Moon being settled and Ludo given back his castle almost every major subplot has been wrapped up too.

The only dangling threads left to settle is that picture from Booth Buddies, so Starco, and Mina's shenanigans.

A love triangle between Star and Marco and Tom, Marco being Star's subservient side kick and not her equal, monsters dindu nothing , Star giving up the crown for democracy the real bad guys being those in power. All this shit was predicted in season 1 but we thought they were better than that and were going to avoid that low hanging fruit. The Bloodmoon curse being something that forced them together only not really.

The only real subversion was the fans believing the writer's were more clever than they actually were.

So yeah, Starco is gonna happen because it's the most obvious route and that is what the show really aims

The latter episode was also a dragged out way of addressing that Tom is barely a character, has no personality, and sets up him breaking up with Star as something he needs to do to develop as a person or some shit

You don't remember, the scissors only works when the plot demands, you can't have them working when they separated in S3 but now after refusing being a knight he can casually visit Star.

The first two seasons plus Battle of Mewni were good, the rest is just filler from someone who didn't expect Disney to want the show to go on this long and had to make the rest of this shit up on the spot.

In the latest episode Star made a big stink about finally being done with Eclipsa. Now Star has no duty on Mewni and is pretty much independent. There is no real reason for her to not go back to Earth with Marco now and continue living together.

The only issue I have with this is that Disney very clearly wishes they got to continue Gravity Falls for another season or two (it was MUCH more popular than Star Vs in it's heyday, arguably it still is) so why couldn't they just force Hirsch to continue making it?

My point is that Disney gave Star the opportunity for more seasons like they did with Gravity Falls, and Star took it and did nothing with it.

Well for one, she looks pretty weird by human standards. She doesn't even have a nose. I know in this show no one cares about this stuff (like all the girls at school thought Tom was hot, and also Marco's tentacle, and the teacher's a troll and no one cares) but the writers could make it an issue if they wanted. But besides that I think she likes fighting and stuff. She brawls with her giant wolf buddy and is used to combat as a currency, I don't know if she could adapt to suburban earth life.

He's not a real character he's a prop for Star and could be replaced with literally anybody and it wouldn't affect 99% of the show.
