ITT: The best design for a character

This one is easy, the movie, armor and current outfits for her are shit and completely miss her personality.

Attached: a0f289bff537abf22af9138f8716d96e.jpg (563x731, 63K)

the fishnet body suit was hotter.

Attached: gamora70s.jpg (500x1049, 90K)

>her personality
lmao

I hate the slut lips, but it is

What personality

Fuck pants

Attached: 3eb410adfa9d84027a65a8df30b0d04b.gif (190x207, 48K)

What are those yellow spots over her eyes? A lot of 1970s superheroines have them, like Dazzler and others. Was that a fashion thing at the time? Did people use facepaint to do circles or flares around their eyes?

She's Zoe from Firefly but green so she dresses like her.

Attached: Shredder.jpg (1280x720, 101K)

It makes the face pop out more on panel.

Sex appeal aside, this is way cooler just as a design that the boring space armor they've given her.

What is Gamora's personality?

what sort of personality are those expressing exactly?

Attached: captain_marvel_6_by_battle810-dc9494c.jpg (697x1145, 223K)

Starfire's best costume right here

Attached: starfire freak your hormones.jpg (474x586, 80K)

Always liked this Catwoman the best, I prefer the grey with black areas to the all black she's usually shown in, and the belt of gold medallions was a nice accessory. And of course, this also all helped it mirror Batman's costume in a nice way, as Catwoman kind of feels like she should.

Attached: Catwoman.jpg (747x533, 23K)

I think this is also a really good notesheet on keeping her looking in-character

Attached: selina style.jpg (970x815, 237K)

get your Critical Role fan character out of here.

>Did people use facepaint to do circles or flares around their eyes?
In some circles, yes.

Attached: roadwarriors.jpg (500x562, 93K)

Damn skippy.

close enough

Attached: shredder.png (640x480, 245K)

I can't decide between her classic outfit or the one with the "battle skirt". I guess I'd be ok with any, as long as she doesn't wear pants

Attached: 1555543234878.jpg (1780x3146, 3.25M)

>best design for a character
Pic related. Everything that came after was inferior

Attached: 1555371257560.png (586x485, 245K)

Battle skirt is her best look, it's cool when her armour has that hoplitish look to it

The Big 2 should have had something like this for at least every A- and B- list character, so that they have a consistent appearance and style of civilian clothing.

When Starlin wrote her she came off as playful , smug, proud, and curious. In Warlock and the Infinity Watch he developed her more and had a story were we are shown that Gamora is insecure and feels like a monster since she considers that she lost her humanity when Thanos turned her into a Cyborg. She also starts having feelings for Adam and she's kind of shit handling them and is impulsive about it (she'll jump and kiss him or get visibly jealous and murderous if another woman hits on him). It gets worse when Adam doesn't exactly return her feelings.

Then there's the fact that the name of her people, Zen Whoberi, is a play on the words Zen and Hubris.

I thought this was a pretty cool look for Hawkman.

Attached: Hawkman_JSI_Trinity-28.jpg (1988x1869, 1.34M)

>completely miss her personality.

Attached: doublelaugh2.gif (700x373, 3.77M)

I prefer some of the other cause this doesn't feel space. This is garbage though

Agree

I prefer the other colors.

Skirt, but def no.2

>We will probably never get a Black Label book featuring an uncensored nude Starfire.
Feels bad, man.

>her armour has that hoplitish look to

Amazons aren't from Greece.

That's ugly man.

Here.

Attached: DkL7hHdU4AAbb1F.jpg (790x1200, 418K)

There's no fucking competition.

Attached: psylocke_by_kamiyamark-da5lkee.jpg (850x1181, 172K)

Nope, that's actually one of the worst suits.
You remind me of that single-minded user who thinks good female costumes consist of a leotard + thigh high boots, though in this case it's basically two strips of fabric and a generic skull belt.

Makes more sense than a bathing suit.
Exactly. Those cheesecake costumes are so generic, but these morons and thier homers are blinded by thier lack of sexual activity.

Literally Gamora, Emma Frost, Psylocke, Storm and like 250 other characters have interchangeable costumes, yet these limp dick losers think that they're 'unique'.

Hell, Mystique's costume is basically the same as Elektra, sans headwrap. It's funny how they act like "whoa Elektra's costume is so perfect and unique why do they change it so they can cover their legs?" while all they need is to color-swap Mystique and end up with the same thing.

Attached: mystique_elektra.jpg (494x589, 99K)

Is personality a euphemism for cleavage?

Her only good costume. Everything else has been a generic X-Man uniform, weird silver armor or just ugly

Attached: Magik.png (1080x1301, 643K)

Attached: 1521346573233.png (734x1000, 559K)

Generic black leather isn't much better. Her best costume is her white graduation costume

> 2 > 9 > 3 > 20
Fuck 12's overrated generic ass.

My ideal would be 3, with 2/6's boots, 10's hair color, the shade of purple from 8/9 & the shoulder plates from 21.

Attached: 1537879335136-1.jpg (5000x4050, 2.38M)

Exactly. I must say, I do miss the headwear on Elektra though.
Have a want and re-evaluate your choice.

>but these morons and thier homers are blinded by thier lack of sexual activity.
People don't stop enjoying sexually appealing outfits when they get laid.
If such was the case why do wives spice things up by buying lingerie?

Surely you understand that lingerie still has a time and a place, and that wearing what basically amounts to lingerie to battle and day to day activities is stupid, right?

I'll be honest with you, I've never seen a Mind I didn't like

Amazons aren't from anywhere you door knob

If only they used these for the movies.

No other outfit of his even compares to the classic look

Attached: 150F2555-F1BF-4BB8-B663-E401B4F8DDB0.png (326x500, 413K)

Saldana was a boring actress so she couldn't pull off DNA Gamora at all.

If they took away the pants, it would have been pretty close to a mix of both. Mesh and the V-kini

Attached: CE81584A-FC44-4213-8580-766400BC1996.jpg (370x459, 55K)

It wasn't her, it's just that she was the mom of the team like ScarJo was for the Avengers. It's a problem with the way these scripts are written as to not overshadow their male counterparts or something but trying as much to keep them "badass" without falling for stereotypes. A complete mess that is often ignored because of how they act as the glue of the team.
Only the secondary characters are allowed to have actual personalities. Mantis, Nebula, Scarlet Witch (though she was the "teenage daughter" of the Avengers) but still.
Also this... Most people don't realize it, but she's actually wearing a fishnet underneath in both movies, and if she took off her leather jacket, it would be basically like the DnA costume.

And most male heroes wear skintight bodysuits, with a full or half mask. Your point?

WAIT WHAT

WHY HAVE WE NEVER SEEN HER WITHOUT THOSE PANTS

That's pretty reductionist but no, actually most male heroes have pretty diverse costumes, from the colors to the styles. You can't color-swap Batman and end up with the same costume as Superman, Spider-Man was basically one of the first costumes in which the whole face was covered, Wolverine has a pretty distinctive cowl and color pattern, even if you ignore the fact that they're wearing an uniform the Fantastic Four have people like The Thing, Hulk has ripped out shorts, Thor has a viking suit, Captain America doesn't wear thights anymore (only the cowl and an armored shirt with flag pattern), etc etc. So many examples of varied costumes, yet most female costumes are literally leotard and boots.

The cartoon one was cool too

Attached: MR.MIND.png (681x610, 167K)

Attached: 272 look.jpg (1021x1500, 787K)

My ideal would be the Rebirth suit exactly as Sharp drew it but with pic related boots extended up to thigh high level and...

Attached: 1539508296323.png (1080x1920, 1.3M)

> and...
The JMS gauntlets with cloth extended up from them like the JLWar suit.

And the New 52 choker.

This.

I always liked #9, but #5 I will always be pure shit. Don’t know how they did worse than the Bendis mass effect rip off armor

> 12 > 5 = 6 > 18 > 13 > 20 > 8 > 11 >>> 16 >>> the rest...

Attached: 52 - Xw8iQyy.jpg (2476x1086, 575K)

I like the 7 a lot. It goes well with the current (unless they changed it) Warlock suit. I don't get the hate for 5, it's actually one of the most unique she's had. 9 is awful, 2 is literally Elektra (see ) and 10 is the best MCU version but it would look terrible in a comic.

>Don’t know how they did worse than the Bendis mass effect rip off armor
It wasn't that bad, just wasn't Gamora-ish. The detail was nice and so was the striking white.

>I don't get the hate for 5, it's actually one of the most unique she's had
What the actual fuck is wrong with you. There is NOTHING unique or identifiable or striking or iconic about it in anyway.
It is the most bland, basic nothing imaginable.

Attached: 51 - zpWptyd.jpg (2000x1422, 2.51M)

Didn't say it was my favorite, it's that it actually looks like a practical knight suit for someone who uses swords for the most part. The only issue with it is that it's black over purple, but other than that I don't see the problem. Then again I don't like leotards and high boots so what do I know?

Not in exact order.
> 9 (ideally with pic related edits) > 1 = 11 > 14 > 28 > 27 > 23 > 17

Really like the gold bands on 36.

Also a suit like that for a character that's supposed to be a deadly assassin would be hard to take seriously. It's a fucking porno bikini.
Yeah, not disagreeing there. I just like the way it looks like a jacket with the star on the side (I'm also the one who said the same thing about the Binary outfit).

No that would be unsanitary and weird. This is nowhere near fully naked and most artist would make the bands thicker then they are on this specific model.

>I'm supposed to take a female assassin as a thing seriously
Those exist.
>and you're complaining her costume is what's hard to take seriously?!
When she looks like she was cast for a Mike Adriano production, yeah.

Yeah, these great costumes that aren't at all interchangeable color swaps , all these women whose personality isn't flowing through their exposed legs is a sad sight nowadays.

You not being interested is fine. Your kind trying to ban all sexy outfits so no one can ever have them again is the problem.
Black Cat, Emma Frost, Lady Hellbender and Selene are about the only sexualized female characters at Marvel left. You have won the war on comic book sex appeal now your just sadistically trying to deny people the smallest bread crumbs you evil fuck.

Every single time in recent memory that a artist draws a sexy cover main or variant or even fan commission feminist scream misogyny and demand the artist be fired.
Frank Cho had to donate 1000 dollars of his hard earned money to a abused woman's shelter to get people to stop attacking him for "hating" women all because he drew some sexy pin ups.

Also since fucking when does this happen?
>Every single time in recent memory that a artist draws a sexy cover main or variant or even fan commission feminist scream misogyny and demand the artist be fired
It's like you're making up reasons to get upset, because you just can't help yourself but feel victimized over wanting to fap to drawn characters. I don't see anyone boycotting Cho of all fucking people, and there's quite a lot of artists working on variant covers unimpeded.

7 - Ultimate...

>Also since fucking when does this happen?
I just gave a example and after that he got thrown off doing Wonder Woman characters because the prude writer screamed about pic related calling it a "panty" shot even tho Cho's WW variants were some of the least sexual covers he has ever done.
>wanting to fap to drawn characters
It has fuck all to do with that. I haven't fapped to a still image in 10 years, it's about it being visually pleasing and makes the characters endearing and enticing.

Attached: wonder-woman-3-600x912.jpg (600x912, 131K)

Let me stop you right there. Didn't you say "feminists scream misogyny" as a cause for people getting fired over a commission, of all things? But now you're saying it was the writer? Hmmm something doesn't add up here!
Almost like you want to make a point over this shit when in truth they both had creative differences as any other would, shocking.

Indeed Cho made her look muscular and imposing as fuck.
He did the same for Valkyrie see here -

The tit armor always gave me a giggle, and the Ultimate design has literal headlights, so I'm going to go with far left on but add the cape and a JaneThor style crop top breastplate to make it perfect.

> But now you're saying it was the writer?
These are multiple different incidents.
And Cho was on VARIANT covers, the writer of the book shouldn't have any say in the variants.

>the writer of the book shouldn't have any say in the variants
Blame DC then, because they allowed King to do the same in Heroes in Crisis. I haven't heard anything like that happening for Marvel specially when Artgem does regular variants for them.

>and the Ultimate design has literal headlights
Ultimate Thor also had them first.

Imagine making a post this embarassing

You are gay, user. Gamora is pulpy female alien space Conan, especially under Starlin where her personality and fighting style was in every way that of a barbarian woman. And she was fucking cool. You have to be out of your mind to prefer her as a generic starship trooper.

Attached: Z-Scan-1-160.jpg (1045x1370, 217K)

I remember. So that means it's a non-issue because if he can, no reason why others can't. J. Scott Campbell does it, Mark Brooks doesn't like skimpy but still does sexy women on covers, etc.

>you are gay
>btw this character is genderbent Conan
Even Zoe Saldana was more interesting than green Barbarella.

It's funny seeing a retard like this trying to lecture a Starlin fan about Gamora, of all characters. And on top of that describing her as "female Conan" makes me think you don't even know what she's about.
>omg you're gay user!
Not liking derivative costumes like these doesn't make one gay. You making excuses for shitty costumes simply because they appeal to your dick makes you a mentally stunted teen, though.

I'm making the most obvious reference to a pulp fantasy barbarian to compare the style, but fine. She was brash, impulsive, acted on emotions more than on logic or strategy. She relied on her physical strength, preferred close combat, had a fighting style that required her to have great freedom of movement. She looked and fought like a barbarian, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just as there is absolutely nothing wrong with sex appeal.

Attached: gam.png (998x1590, 3.76M)

>Just as there is absolutely nothing wrong with sex appeal.
Who ever said this? This is on par with the whole
>if you don't like a woman's opinion you're a misogynist
but of retarded horny teens. Let me reiterate: not liking leotards + thigh high boot costumes don't make one gay, against sex appeal or prefer ugly art/non-cheesecake. Get it through your skull already.
There are better, more creative ways to make female costumes that are still sexy without falling for the same formula than the one Moondragon is wearing in that same page for instance (a bikini and a cape, come the fuck on), and that's what's been happening recently. You're just obsessing over the same shitty pages in some random series to prove a point about series you're not even reading than actually looking into the stuff many more are doing currently.

I don't care about character designs in general, nor about what you personally find or find not appealing. This
>Also a suit like that for a character that's supposed to be a deadly assassin would be hard to take seriously.
is the only thing I am arguing against. If you don't enjoy Conan-style pulp fantasy in general that's one thing, but it fits the character and doesn't ruin her credibility as a dangerous fighter any more than it does this guy's.

it's kind of cool. got that nice pulp feel to it.

For the movie version all they had to fucking do was...
> Give her pic related hair but blonde.
> Take the black outfit.
> Put on it the breast plates from the white outfit.

And either...
> Give her white pants to contrast the torso.
or..
> Extend the skirt and remove pants.

Kevin Feige does not know what he's doing
He never knew
Just read his embarrassing interviews over the last years
Valkyrie like comics or even Angela, we'll never see my friends

Kevin Fiege shit taste and style

She will probably get a true Scarlet Witch costume in WandaVision via Agatha Harkness (and possibly visiting New Salem).

>Personality
Uh-huh.

There's no reason for the deadliest woman in the Galaxy to dress like a swimming stripper.

I'm not for burlap sack costumes, but hers was just dumb.

Opinons on pantyhose? Ignoring the obvious bullshit of Zub kicking Betsy out of her body and haviing Kwannon highjack it, I find this modification an acceptable compromise if disney is worried about what parents buying halloween costumes think. I'd rather they'only do stuff like that for media and merch aimed at kids and leave the comics for adults alone but whatever. I also will admit I have bit of a hosiery kink. I do miss the bare legs, but we still got Leotard and Thigh high boots combo. Over all I wouldn't mind Betsy keeping this if/when she gets remerged with Kwannon. Maybe get rid of the arm coverings.

Betsy's actual current look is horrible. Fuck Jub Jub.

Fuck Aaron more accurately. Jen was back to normal at the end of Tamaki's run. Aaron re fucked her up without explanation because he wanted a savage hulk and for some damn reason Marvel couldn't couldn't bring themselves to just tell him "No".

Attached: 1555516038916.jpg (1987x3056, 1.51M)

>There's no reason

It's called confidence, user.

Is she wearing hose? I thought it was just the shadows or a night time filter.

Attached: 175915-psylocke_400.jpg (372x585, 51K)

She's not wearing pantyhose, she's wearing pink tights under the leotard, like she was back when she was "Revanche"

To me it looks like she's wearing light purple tights and a blue/purple similar to Wanda's classic pink tights and red leotard costumes, comparing the shading of her face to her arms and legs.

Eh close enough given wow they interact with the leotard.

I'd have to see it in the day time where the shading isn't fucking over everything but pink tights just sounds BLECH

yes i was just saying it's probably a reference to this

the funny thing is that kwannon didn't wear that leotard outfit at all back before the mind swap. that was something the hand put Betsy in when she got the body. which is also why it's so reminiscent of Elektra's costume since she was the hand's previous master assassin

Attached: 108958-138593-revanche.jpg (369x564, 382K)

the 90's outfit withe pink tights is ugly, but the light purple under the traditional blue leotard seems to work for me. Yeah, probably should refile it under needing to see more first.

See if that's the case then I think I'd rather just take a full body suit. That's just gauche.

Attached: sc2-taki2.jpg (288x452, 55K)

>It's called confidence, user.
Yeah she should be showing pussy lips, as a sign she's confident enough to let her enemies know she's as deadly as she is provocative.

> Aaron re fucked her up without explanation because he wanted a savage hulk and for some damn reason Marvel couldn't couldn't bring themselves to just tell him "No".
The weirdest fucking thing is Aaron specifically said in a interview that the wanted Jen to be LESS Hulk like.

Leotards =/= lingerie
Dumbo.

>If such was the case why do wives spice things up by buying lingerie?
You do realize that was a response to this?
>If such was the case why do wives spice things up by buying lingerie?
Who the fuck mentioned leotards?

Then he obviously didn't bother to find out what Jen's status at the end of her last series was. If He ends up restoring her to normal(again) for good this time, I'll forgive him. But right now as it stands he's responsible for her current sorry state.

Yeah I'm just saying that's probably what they're going for again.

If Marvel had not been bought by Disney, the MCU would likely have fizzled out years ago. Face it, being bankrolled by a huge corporation helps.

She was in traditional leotard and leg wraps when she was training with the hand IIRC.

A few hours late, but here you go. I think I like the black more than the blue. It contrasts better with the red and yellow, and it'd be a bit of a nod to her old costume.

i like 2, 3,and 4

>Rainbow Raider
Fuck, I can't remember if that was the name of an actual comic book villain or something I REALLY shouldn't talk about here.

Jessica isn't pregnant anymore and the costume isn't any more covering than her old one. It does have an ugly color set up and she does just need to go back to her classic costume however.

Attached: vixen-first.jpg (545x432, 65K)

See? Why didn't you wait to make this thread again, instead making 2 shitty threads about leotards earlier?

Electric Nachos?

If you don’t understand the reasons for these design conventions, please take a long walk off a short pier.

>Not understanding that Gamora is a play on the Red Sonja archetype
>But in space, and green, as a joke

Comics aren’t reality and aren’t meant to reflect reality. Tragic dimbulbs like you who deserve nothing more than a live electrical cable jammed up their urethra are the reason we can’t have nice things like a pulp revival.

Attached: Marie.webm (640x480, 2.02M)

>Now

Dude this book is several years old now. She isn’t pregnant anymore.

Many thanks user.
If I may make 1 more request. Make the sleeves all black but with red fingers.
Thanks again.

Anyone notice this?

I think this guy is obsessing too much about sex appeal in comics. I mean I get it, I like asses and boobs. But, I can do without them when the story is interesting.

Attached: FCilQtZ.gif (600x400, 3.98M)

And after that maybe a version with the gold made silver.

Dont bother, he is fucking retarded and forever stuck in 2015.

But she still using that pathetic costume and
marvel comics is dead btw

The fact that OP not only spams leotards threads, but has made multiple threads with the same character, and text, should already tell you something.

your opinion is clearly too out of touch with the current to be taken seriously

Rebirth outfit is a 10/10

What personality does this costume show? She just looks like a stripper

31 is the shit

We heard you the first nine times, fuck off.

Since this was my first post in this thread I kinda doubt that

Don't lie.

A great example of a costume that is sexy AND cool.

I really don't like her new look at 20, to be honest I disliked the whole "Let's split up Psylocke away from her asian body" stoline they are going with now days. That said 2 and 3 are decent.

Well not bad costumes, it's just that her hairstyle. Mohawk doesn't really fit her at all and they have tried atleast two times.

If we can't have the old costumes back, they should let some of those guys design new ones. Most of Marvel's heroines who got new costumes in the last 8 years were designed by gay artists, and it shows.

I'd be happy if they all weren't either movie inspired or designed so cosplayers don't have to work.

Other than the pipes in his neck I loved this design. I prefer my bane with minimal tubes.

Best costume = #16
Sexiest costume = #37
Best teen Jean = #5-6
Best Phoenix = #21
Best Team Mom Jean = #2-3 & #17

So are you against also those kinda clothes for male characters?

Attached: 1342837960564.gif (200x199, 996K)

I felt like Cassaday really nailed the look and feel of the X-Men the best since Byrne or Lee.

I loved #2, what was that, Generation X volume one right? I always thought Emma was sexier covered up, it gave her the naughty teacher vibe. The design is kind of a relic of the times, you can feel the nineties pulsing off of it, but it was a good look for her. It also made black turtleneck-wearing Sean hanging a step behind her look better somehow.

I was on the wrestling team and wore a singlet. Those things would NOT be combat-wearable on a modern battlefield for a non-powered being; they have no pockets and do nothing to protect you from the environment or physical hazards, plus they stand out like a sore thumb. I know super-beings are not highschoolers on the wrestling team, but I think the point stands.

I saw a redesign of Golden-Age Superman with a bomber jacket and scarf once and really liked it. I love 1940 #2's boots because they look like actual boots rather than the galoshes most heroes seem to wear. 2011's boots could pass if you pretend the big front flap is covering laces.

Jean is interesting to me in that her most-known identity and look are wrapped up in her being possessed by a cosmic force of creation. I like her looks being separated into the two categories of "Marvel Girl/X-Men Uniform" and "Phoenix Outfit." The big space bird emblem with the sash is so iconic; I like the green better visually and I love coats, so 32 gets my vote there. I like my X-Men to have certain uniform themes and color schemes, as theme cohesion sells the militia angle, but she really needs a better non-Phoenix-scheme X-Men uniform so badly. I like deep navy blue with subdued gold the best, with a couple outliers like Colossus. Unless they make gold with green accents the Gold Team's color scheme and pair her up with best Rogue ( ). Has Storm ever worn those colors? I think I have a fun idea...

Attached: Cassaday X-Men.jpg (991x590, 244K)

3, 6, & 13 are best, 10, 20 & 23 are also good.
17 & the 27s make no sense for fighting in, but are some of the sexiest costumes at Marvel.

>plus they stand out like a sore thumb
Super heroes are supposed to stand out like a sore thumb

And there's also a guy always lurking these threads typing

Like this
And posts things like

"Marvel doesn't know what they're doing
They should hire me in the spot
I would turn the ship around and make them all sexy again
Aliens should be hot and wear thongs
Diversity and feminists have killed sex appeal
Bring back leotards and boots"

In my head he sounds like a caveman, not because of the arguments themselves (which are already flimsy), but the way he takes breaks among short sentences and always repeats the same line of thought matter-of-factly.

I mean, I get that most super-heroes and super-villains are egomaniacs and have a desperate need to be seen in bright colorful costumes, and the civilians need to see them the way construction workers wear neon vests, but a street-level hero or a stealthy assassin villain might need something a tad more subtle or at least with a bit more utility. I'm not saying "Hey everyone, dress like Netflix's Jessica Jones!" because that would be dreadful and boring; I just mean that I get why Liefeld puts pouches everywhere and it's why I like coats worn over my hero spandex so much. like how the Avengers all had those sharp matching jackets in the early nineties. Batman's utility belt is magic, so that doesn't count.

Attached: Black-Knight-Marvel-Comics-Dane-Whitman-Avengers-l.jpg (500x942, 78K)

This. It was fine for it's time, but it's passed. It's like nobody got the point of her arc during that period was that she didn't have to pretend to be some hardass biker chick in order to be a formidable woman. She could be feminine and regal and still have an edge.

It's annoying how every time she goes through the slightest inconvenience, they give her the mohawk again. Shows how much her character's progressed, doesn't it?

Also her X-Treme costume is unironically her best look, second only to the 90s costume.

Attached: X-Treme Storm.jpg (1157x2474, 2.04M)

>Whining about people whining

We're in Yea Forums, it's tradition here to whine about whining.

9 all the way.

>people shouldn't call out a retard

It's weird how almost every subsequent costume storm has had has been black, pointing back at either her original costume or her biker chick costume.

The white costume just gets no love.

I thought these were more Wonder Woman designs until I saw Tony.
