Usually, but he's not a good person. At least now.

>breaks one of his customer's legs so he can close the store and celebrate getting his millionth dollar

Nope.

I mean, even back then he wasn't exactly a benevolent boss.

Good businessman and good person are opposed to each other.

>At least now
he was always a piece of shit

He’s a conman.

Nowadays he's far worse though.

Pretty sure he sold Spongebob's soul for a few cent in an early episode, and don't forget the iconic boat episode where he was willing to let his employees be eaten by a giant clam for a dollar. He's always been an asshole but earlier episodes executed it in funnier, more creative ways.

A “good” business-“man”, or a “good business”-man?

>doesn’t hire more people for the night shift or even to do other duties
No

Yes, he got to where he is today through his hard work, perseverance, vision, determination and sweat.

but mostly his sweat

>Opens Krusty Krab 2 ten feet away from the original
I mean all the fish are proven stupid, but that doesn't seem like the greatest business decision.

No, in the restaurant game you need to be generous if you want to retain your customers good will, especially for a single location joint like the Krustt Krab. In one episode, he gives Squidward shit for giving a customer their change. If there was underwater Yelp, he'd be ruined.

a "good business" man

Highly dependent on the episode. Sometimes he's a perfectionist who, despite being money-grubbing, offers very reasonable prices and will not suffer his products to be anything but great, and has a loyal customer base. In other episodes, he'll literally poison guests for no reason and sell the sole worker keeping his restaurant running for 62 cents.

What episode arguably shows him at his best as a "good business man"

This
His restaurant is only up and running because Squidward is a middle aged depressed loser with no where to go and Spongebob fucking loves his job way too much
If the citizens of Bikini bottom took notice to how shit Krabs treats his employees, especially Squidward and Krabs himself breaking several health violations several times over, then the place would have been shutdown years ago

But the food too good, the citizens are too complacent and stupid, and no one likes Squidward

This video explains why he did it.

He has two employees, and they're the only ones that can put up with Krabs, so where would he get the staff for one across town?

Squidward goes to #2 and SpongeBob stays at the original.

but thats it, its NOT financially beneficial.

As in moral? Probably that episode where he sold the restaurant to a Trump knockoff, who then turned it into lifeless factory that outputted factory made grey goo morphed into the shape of a hamburger. He was fine with it because the money he got from the sale was ridiculous, but when he came back to check out the new management and learned what was going on, he tore down the place and revoked the deal, because he thought that the patties should be made with quality.

Mr krabs is the definition of capitalism... get rich and pay your workers shit
