I think the concept of the site is great but it's so full of shit. The style of the comics are all identical, the stories are boring as fuck, there's a tone of exposition right to your face as soon as you open a new comic. There's not a single webcomic that i find enjoyable.
Was it ever this bad?

What are you looking for? I'll willing to help.
trash just gets popular and the site isn't really good for promoting new talent
Honestly just something fun with a different art style, more like Bryan O'Malley 's style and not the kind of "manga" art style most that I've seen have.
What do you got for me?
That’s cuz it’s fucking Korean in style which is all the same shit
seed is genuinely interesting, but it's just so slowly paced
That's a toughy. The site is heavily populated by koraboos and weebs so a manga like art style fits the target audience. I do enjoy stuff like Outrage,Newman, Supersonic Girl and Space boy all of which have different art styles. If you aren't too bothered by it, I fully recommend stuff like Flow and Four Leaf both of which have pretty decent stories Four Leaf's twist about the main character Carolina especially Discover has A Messed Up Fairy Tale, Succumbus Girlfriend and Echo. There's also Hooky but I doubt that's up your ally.
So is UnOrdinary, which has some major pacing issues.
I started reading four leaf 15 minutes ago. It's actually pretty good! But it's a shame how few of these comics there are, at least from my point of view
Thanks a bunch for the suggestions
I just finished Gosu to discover the author got cancer and is on hiatus since January until finishing treatment (if, don't know the chances for that type).
Great shounen webtoon, but prepare to suffer at the end.
Oh and the background art is super detailed and very Otomo. Not common in this format to have complex backgrounds or no cheap cg.
It's my favourite webtoon currently out. Carolina is best girl.
the webtoon format emphasizes text over dialogue - readers rapidly scrolling through their phone generally won't pay a second glance to your gloriously rendered scenery, so environmental storytelling tends to get left behind in favor of wordswordswords
as an unfortunate add-on, i think it's sort of the asian style of storytelling to blast the reader with mental monologue instead of implying it through character interactions
t. chink
Castle Swimmer is pretty good
webtoons.com
There are some webtoons that have amazing art despite the wordswordswords.
Though you are right about the manga style storytelling being a factor.
My gf uses it all the time.
I read that Super Secret comic. It was really cute
Webtoon in my country is totally shit. There's nothing but gay or yuri bait, every comic is all about school love life or love triangle and their art look like generic shoujo manga.
Nobody is trying to creative anything new at all
out of curiosity, what's your country, user?
Thailand
huh, thai school life sounds mildly interesting, even if it's done in a boring shoujo style
are there any major differences from what you'd get in manga or korean webtoons?
I like urban animal
Its alright, didn't use it for ages because the logins were fucked on the ipad app but they fixed that recently.
Did you know the Gong Show was originally created to find all the talented people across America that never had a chance to show off their skills? And once they started auditioning acts they realized, "Oh no. Most people suck, and these acts are terrible." so they pivoted and turned the show into a mockery of their guests.
Get my point?
I'm not big fan korean comic so i can't really tell the difference but i think korean comic have more diverse while thai comic alway stick to romance genre maybe because 90% of their target audience is teenage girls
Meanwhile, teenage boys in my country alway stick to isekai harem shit in webnovel. They don't care about webcomic at all
It has some good stuffs
GOSU is the only title that I liked there.
I just stick to the Thriller section. Most stories there stick to using visuals to tell; those are usually short stories while the longer ones tend to infinite scroll for chapters on end until it reaches plot movement for about a few chapters.
All in all I find that section to be the best.
For what I know, untranslated Korean stuff is way more entertaining than those officially translated ones. It's the westerners' fault that they have such a shit taste in webcomics.
Your letter is really good but short. It's maybe even getting animated. Really recommend it. Also fuck castle swimmer. Wat a shitty story
do you hate the west so much you just want to be asian so bad user?
Webtoon may well have killed the concept of Webcomics in general, or at least that's how I feel. I haven't any half-decent new webcomics since Webtoon's existance began.
Remember me, Yea Forums?
One thing I hate about that site is how it co-opted the meaning of “webtoon” in general. In the early 2000s, webtoon was a go to phrase to describe an internet cartoon series like Homestar Runner, or some series that you liked on Newgrounds. What a dumbass name for a webcomic site.
was reading achtung until it went on hiatus forever
