Do you like it better when
a) show airs an episode a week
b) drops all episodes at once
Do you like it better when
A. On TV channels because in most cases anime shows that weekly hype turns out great when done right.
B. The bomb format sucks shit, but the full season works for stream services.
One episode at a time. I dislike binging a show and the necessary time management it imposes.
I don't have cable. So anything online is better. That being said, I like all at once. I still typically end up watching 1 episode per day after work.
1 per week would be nice but sometimes episode get pushed back and really I hate mid season haitus
Once a week. I like having a reason to liv- I mean something to look forward to.
One episode at a time. The Netflix format is for writers who are too incompetent to compress a story into a film.
It purely has to do with how Netflix markets their shows.
One episode at a time. So often the Netflix shows feel like they're stuffed with filler. For better of worse weekly episodes have more self contained stories.
once a week stimulates discussion, helps speculation
with whole season releases you just watch the thing in a week and forget about it by the end of the month
I would say that airing an episode per week would be better to evade spoilers but I have NEVER been spoiled a show that dropped all their episodes at once.
That's because it's harded to spoil you an entire season with a single sentence/meme, however, spoiling you the new episode of a show you are watching it's as easy as it gets.
I usually wait till there's a few episodes, probably at least three, to watch on most occasions. I just like getting lost in a serialized story. It depends on the show though. Some are fun to watch along with others and talk up livethreads while viewing, while others are fine for a day of binging curled up in something comfy. So both are fine for me. For livethreads on here though, the once a week format works best. And in the future with so many streaming services in play the bomb format will likely die out because people are going to end up having to switch around because there is no goddamn way anyone is paying for that many services monthly.
once a week.
drops all at once, you cant go talk about it because people have already watched everything or are farther, so everything is spoilers.
once a week is a shared experience
>b) drops all episodes at once
i hate this cucкfliх shit. DEATH TO BINGE WATCHING!
I still don't get that. Why release all episodes at once? I mean netflix and other streaming services are subscription-based. Wouldn't it be better for them to release episodes once per week?
Try making friends or meet a woman.
>meet a woman.
but user, women are whores and sluts
Guess I'll be the odd man out and say all at once.
I usually don't get to watch the shows the night they air, and my job schedule is hectic I have no set days off so the weekly format isn't really a thing for me, it's watch when I can. That and I'm someone who absolutely hates cliffhangers so avoiding that on a week to week basis is a plus (even though I know I'll never escape those finale cliffhangers)
Then there's the fact that sooo many shows take mid season breaks these days (I wanna kill whoever came up with the "mid-season" finale) choosing how and when they want to start up again forcing the viewer to keep track of that, I mean disney is an utter monster in this regards to their programing, DIsney+ is something that scares the shit out of me giving their horrible airing habits for new episodes, and fox is no better with their animation domination crap, air 2 or 3 new episodes then give us an untold amount rerun weeks between the rest.
With Bingeing/Marathoning you can just make a day of it, I do it all the time, just forget everything and pick up a show to watch from start to finish.
One at a time. Makes it way more of an event/builds excitement/discussion/etc. I know it's not Yea Forums-related, but I'm glad that's the route they took with Twin Peaks: The Return. That was a great Summer.
This too. Shared experiences are great.
All at once.
Disappointment hits harder when you’ve dedicated weeks of your life speculating what will come next and sometimes even the things I like can’t live up to the expectations I’ve build in between episodes. Also, it’s easier to notice padding and cliffhangers when you watch a season all at once, so show runners working with a binge format are forced to get to the point faster (not counting Umbrella Academy, that show was 70% padding)
Also I don’t like waiting. All in all, it depends on the show.
With weekly television, there's more incentive for the writers to make each episode compelling to keep viewers coming back for more. With streaming services like Netflix, they tend to just half ass everything until the end, because they know everyone is binging on their own time. There are some exceptions, but this is generally the case.
Once a week desu. If I watch 4 or 5 episodes in a row then I get burnt out and stop watching it most of the time.
Once a day for a week
>series finally of Atla
cmon, who else remembers it?
People streaming an entire season in one night is idiotic, like watching all the MCU again every single time a new movie comes out so that they all make sense to you.
Both of the show in OP are crap so who cares.
That wasn't the question dumbo
An episode a week, I assume that'd also help keeping interest on a show rather than just throwing it all at once.
Depends on the show. Weekly is great for a genuinely fantastic show. Gives time for discussion on what happened, speculation on what's next, and gives everything more time to sit and generally be more memorable. If a show is so-so, or just barely good, it's generally better to just drop all episodes at once since even if I'm still subscribing to the service, I'm less inclined to put the effort into remembering to watch it if the show isn't providing much incentive; but if it's just dropped all at once, then I can just burn through it all whenever I've got the time.
