whats the biggest pleb filter in comics?
Whats the biggest pleb filter in comics?
Actually reading them instead of just watching movies and seeing random pages/panels posted on tumblr or twitter.
If they think that marvel charcaters are more relatable than DC ones because they're more human Vs DC's charcaters being gods
If they say that Superman can't have good stories, because he's overpowered.
"I prefer the recolor."
Oh I can't read comics that are older than twenty years, I can't get past the double narration.
Reading Capeshit.
>when your spess god pantheon sucks so bad they can't even make movies of them
just fuck my wife up, stan.
>If they say that Superman can't have good stories, because he's overpowered.
or claim he's "outdated"
(you)
I think just older comics in general.
"DC is about Gods trying to be human, Marvel is about humans trying to be gods"
Brat Pack
(Punisher Max)
Miracleman
Calvin and Hobbes
Dilbert
Fourteen (Yea Forums but still)
“Batman is relatable and is interesting because he’s just human”. I don’t hate Batman, I hate the stupid fandom surrounding him.
>Brat Pack
That’s barely above the Unfunnies
Still pleb filter though.
>Superman can't have good stories because he's DC's poster boy and the ones in charge don't want to upset the fanboys
FTFY. Superman will never have anything equivalent to Miller's Daredevil, Claremont's/Morrison's X-men, Saga of the Swamp Thing, Miller's Year One or Morrison's Bat epic.
Read more comics you edgy tard
i like batman because the guy just wont quit and wants to stop crime and faces insurmountable odds but still comes out on top. you could call that batwank and id either agree or disagree depending on the context, batman fighting all the escaped arkham prisoners from knightfall isnt batwank, but him defeating darkseid is batwank and him sitting on the mobeus chair is pure batwank
Kirby's Fourth World is the plebiest of comics. Even people who have never read any Bronze age comic have read it. It is also so badly written and has garnered praise because only plebs think that's how bad Bronze age comics were. Gerber's Man-Thing, Son of Satan, Howard the Duck, Englehart's Strange were far better.
Like what? Tomasi's defining run or Geoff Johns' legendary run on Superman?
>>Superman cant have good stories because hes DC's poster boy
>>Morrison's Bat epic
???

I'm just gonna come out and say Superman doesn't lend himself to long-form storytelling because he's Superman - he's powerful enough that it would be stupid to draw the story out for 40 issues.
He's much stronger as a character as a vehicle for parables. Same with Silver Surfer. So pointing out he has no grand 5-10 year epic, as was common at Marvel during its peak in the 80s (and much less common at DC, save for Vertigo), is an odd comparison.
