Volthoom came back to try to make her Power Ring again (apparently anyone who's been Power Ring get's their soul trapped inside after they die, but Jess didn't so he wanted to claim her) but Baz helped her through it. She has been encouraging her own GL ring to have it's own personality, so it's becoming sort of the anti-Volthoom

Batman was going full NOT MUH, but he raised a lot of good points on the ring not fully working when the user doesn't believe in it 100% -- alluding to what happened with Abin Sur when Qull planted doubt in his head. The biggest issue is that he never got development outside of that. He's just the usual, run-of-the-mill Lantern member in the same way B'dg and Galius Zed are.

I always pictured him being the guy who never left war.
He wanted to come back and be an architect, actually create, but couldnt get away from the fight. Becoming a lantern technically allows him to do both.
I think they always try to have him be the stick in the mud Boss to contrast against Mavericks like Hal and Guy. I think I'd like to see him be the rookie for a change. Has to learn from Hal to be a hero instead of just a soldier.
