It really doesn't parallel much at all though.
Eclipsa marrying Globgor was considered a political disaster because he's one of the enemy's top leaders. Tom was from the moment he and Star met considered the politically obvious match because he's the heir to one of the Butterfly Kingdom's closest allies. There are no analogies to Globgor in Star's relationships, because the other option for her is Marco, who's an outsider but well-liked by her parents and by the current queen.
