After watching a decent amount of modern Simpsons I have come to the conclusion that the character that has survived the best is Millhouse.
Other contenders are Mr Burns and Smithers who are both pretty fine nowadays

Smithers isn't gay for Burns anymore though.
Wow, that made me laugh.
oh, Milhouse doesn't count
>After watching a decent amount of modern Simpsons
Literally why would you subject yourself to that?
the HD era at its worst is still just a 6 or 7/10 show desu, there are worse ways to spend the half hour before/after Bob's Burgers
>the HD era at its worst is still just a 6 or 7/10 show
Oh, it's you, Boco. I should have guessed.
>aired 2016
Zombie Simpsons doesn't count sperg.
Anyway, people who aren't Boco and have normally developed bodies will rate the HD seasons -1/10.
If I was Boco I'd have enough of a lack of self awareness to just use my trip
>people
>rating
only bots bother to rate shit, grandpa
What they did to Skinner should be a sin.
incorrect, since the HD era is better than 90% of the garbage that was early Al Jean and late Scully
>Survived the best
That's to say the least viciously raped, but still so.
You mean that infamous episode or what happened later?
Nah Im actually willing to say Millhouse is actually still good. Not many people I'd say that for though
Still doesn't make him a meme
Damn that gave me a blast from the past
Everything!
What, why
MILLHOUSE IS NOT A MEME
He's not, Milhouse episodes are pretty painful.
Especially the one I just posted.
I admit I have no idea what episode that is, but the episode that comes to mind when I think about Millhouse was pretty good for him
Milhouse in general is painful these days. Especially when he keeps turning on Bart as easily as he does.
Why are they still considered pals again?
I disagree since Milhouse reveled he was the product of incest
Milhouse is a coward he's don't it in the pass as far back as season 6. What I think is said is they made a joke about shipping him with Maggie and Milhouse replying "We have the Same nap time" in the episode "Lisa Gets the Blues" from season 29. He's just sad and weird now.
MILHOUSE IS NOT A MEME IS A MEME
The fuck? did you stroke out while making this post?
>The fuck? did you stroke out while making this post?
Better:
Milhouse is a coward he's done it in the pass as far back as season 6. What I think is said is they made a joke about shipping him with Maggie and Milhouse replying "We have the Same nap time" in the episode "Lisa Gets the Blues" from season 29. He's just sad and weird now.
>What I think is said is they made a joke about shipping him with Maggie and Milhouse replying "We have the Same nap time"
The writers really didn't need to acknowledge or pay Cordless any homage.
OP is actually wrong
Milhouse was ruined worse than any other character
They turned Milhouse into a cuck
>Milhouse is a coward he's done it in the pass as far back as season 6.
Yeah, but in those cases, Bart usually pissed him off to some extent. Now it just makes him come off as a dick.
>After watching a decent amount of modern Simpsons
Why do you hate yourself
That’s not how desu is properly used.
The only terrible thing about Skinner is that his voice is so low-key now, but that's because Harry Shearer is old and doesn't give a shit about the show anymore.
He phones in his lines from home and says he doesn't read the scripts anymore, just his own characters' dialog.
Based
>and doesn't give a shit about the show anymore.
Mostly, although he did write an episode script not long ago and also boycotted the Family Guy crossover, so he still cares at least that much.
Didn't Shearer fake quitting the show a few years ago only to turn around and say "Ha ha, I troll u."
He's hated the show since 1993, but he's never hated the paychecks.
Can Milhouse be a meme now?
Good.
They retconned THAT episode. Skinner has always been Skinner now.
For Bart wanting to be shipped with Maggie, yes
Grimes because at least he died before they could ruin him tho.
He escaped early.
you ever notice how extra violent the new Simpsons is? I mean there was violence before but it was either absurd like a car falls in the hole it explodes, or minor, but never like this.
So they finally killed off that meme?
Is Milhouse fucking dead?
>They turned Milhouse into a cuck
But he was frendzoned in classical episodes.
He was'nt relly around Lisa in classical episodes
he only got closer in the mid 2000's episodes, and when you think about it was pulling out of there ass with that one there's not 1 thing they have in common it was just he likes her? tho he did have her heart 2 times for a small time and lost it so when you think about it. I can understand Nelson because it falls under the woman trying to fix the man thing like what we saw in season 8.
lisa pretty much didn't change at all and is heralded as the icon of the show now
I'm afraid to ask, but what happened later?
She changed from a rounded character with strengths and weaknesses to a character with strengths and strengths.
sneeeeed
Yes it is
Any hope Disney will cancel this show?
Hell no. This garbage is a pop culture icon and the merch sales alone justify making the episodes to keep up with current events.
they'll recast eventually; there's already a guy out there who does a spookily good Troy McClure, the trick will be finding people who can between them do all the voices to within a reasonable tolerance of the originals
it's never going to actually end; it's soft-canon from start to present, there never was anything set in stone about it that makes it intrinsically dated
so long as it can get a couple million views an episode and sell merch, and so long as the characters are popular in the parks that are Disney's actual main business, it'll continue
>rounded
she got the entire US senate to remove a corrupt senator in 1 weekend because "a little girl is losing faith in democracy"
dead presidents literally came back to tell her to do it
>they'll recast eventually; there's already a guy out there who does a spookily good Troy McClure, the trick will be finding people who can between them do all the voices to within a reasonable tolerance of the originals
Yeardley Smith and Julie Kavner would be the hardest to replace because of how unique their voices are.
he turned into a pussy that got cucked by ned. twice.
>the parks that are Disney's actual main business
I thought those were constantly bleeding money due to the monumental task of upkeep. There's no way it's cheaper to keep WDW from imploding under the feet of one million Brazilians than it is to make a few CGI remakes once a year.
think about how many times a day they sell like 10c worth of sugar for $5
My sister works for disney world and supposedly they're extremely fucking cheap when it comes to budgets. For example, they used to make their own furniture, but now it's just cheap chink shit. Everything is also ridiculously expensive, food, merch, everything. People are willing to spend money on overpriced shit because hey it's vacation, might as well. It's also a lot easier than going outside of the park to get food.
That may, MAY, have been irony. The episode is called "Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington"; the movie that's referencing is "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington", in which a small town idealist is appointed to the Senate, and deals with horrible corruption, ultimately overcoming through virtue and perseverance.
It's just possible that the Simpsons, by making the same basic story happen absurdly quickly and efficiently, through no more action than a speech at a contest overheard by a Senate page, was seeking to undercut the original and the central myth of small town American virtue triumphing, by highlighting how absurd it is.

you complete moron
Remember when Lisa was right about complicated heart surgery? Good times.
thewaltdisneycompany.com
See for yourselves.
at least one of us completes somebody
Remember when she was shown doing research about cardiac surgery, and even got a cows heart from the butcher beforehand? Remember when her only contribution was to tell Dr. Nick where to make the incision?
Seriously, the problem is not with Lisa as an overachiever in an occasionally cartoony plot; the problem is when her being right and informed is just a lazy assumption made by the writers, and things working out has no greater purpose than wrapping up the plot.
Sneed is also a good contender
No, but you know who needs to Thomas and Friends
>This garbage is a pop culture icon
Was a pop culture icon 20 years ago.
Wallet Monster has yet to be defiled.
I have no idea, but the company will probably change direction when Bob Iger retires since he's mostly responsible for the pointless buyouts of properties they have no use for and spamming capeshit movies to death.
remember when she was 8 years old the whole time?
>Any hope Disney will cancel this show?
my guess is it will continue for a couple more seasons then Disney will quietly wrap things up, maybe give it another movie or a special to finish things up
Family Guy on the other hand I figure Disney will cancel as soon as they can, maybe end up selling it off to Time-Warner
so which do you see being more likely, Milhouse going trans for Bart, or Bart going trans for Milhouse?
