okayish. Very early 90s, bit formulaic. Human cast does most of the legwork/screentime with whatever moral/problem of the week, Swamp Thing mostly shows up to give warnings/observe and maybe fix a problem near the end, occasional rubber suit fight. Kinda rough and budget-concerned. First season is almost unwatchable with a precocious kid sidekick who gets 90% of the screentime with the occasional cameo from Swamp Thing. Arcane works out of a cave and it is cheap as fuck.

Big overhaul for the second season that improves things. The kid is written out in the harshest way possible (locked up naked in a cage and shipped off to slave labor in Central America; this is the last we ever see or hear of him). Arcane gets an actual secret base facility even though the exteriors are always the same stock footage. Still, better than the cave. Some multi parters a bit more ambitious stories, but remains mostly episodic and goes nowhere.

It's not a sequel to the two movies, either, even though it has Dick Durock as Swamp Thing. The movies are a pick your poison kinda thing. The first one takes itself a little too seriously and has shiiiiiiiiit costumes (especially Swamp Thing). The second one is a comedy, but has MUCH better costumes though the action never gets as good as the first's (but you get Heather Locklier in an erotic yam-eating love scene, so there's that).
