Saw the last X-men movie on a plane, plane was grounded for the whole movie and this ukulele medley, think Spongebob instrumental, was blasting through the airliner most of the film and could be heard over the action. The scene where Magneto’s family died was hilarious.

I'm doing my first X read through now and holy shit does this comic suck. I'm pretty much just skipping unless it's essential to the X-Men book or it focuses on Magik whose the only character I find interesting.
Giving them matching costumes was an awful idea. I get the logic that it's like a school uniform and it's a throwback to the OG X-Men series but the OG's eventually earned individual costumes and the NM never do. It's so bland, look as Cannonball ffs. Literally a generic white guy with a generic white guy crew cut in a generic comic book costume. He looks like a villain of the week from a throwaway issue.

Oh thank god. I thought I was the only one who thought New Mutants was trash (outside of the Demon Bear, that was good). Have you gotten to the shit with the weird ancient Roman colony that still exists in modern times? Shit sucked so much.
Amara and that whole plotline does nothing for me. I grew up reading X comics in the 90's after watching the X-Men: TAS cartoon and so much of this is new. the fact that most of the New Mutants characters and plots were nonexistent a decade later while just about everything in X-Men from the same time period was still relevant should tell you a lot.
I don't think there's ever been a more accurate comic book movie than Days of Future Past in terms of how well it portrayed the clusterfuck that is X-Men continuity.
