Swindle is my favorite Traitor.
Megatron was right. Fuck the autobots.
Starscream’s design in this was literal perfection.
*ahem*
>inb4 prime faggots start posting tfp starscream so they can post their faggot ass knockout art
It was glorious.
hell of a polished turd. ended up a lot better than this preliminary art. I remember when it came out and I cringed so hard
still unabashedly 'cartoon' in a way that's very inappropriate for mecha, and the faces were really ugly.
Love or hate the art style, it was the best TF story since Beast Wars and didn't deserve getting cut slightly short by the timing of the fucking Bayformers sequels.
Sari is the best token human hands down, especially compared to the Unicron trilogy twats (and ESPECIALLY Kicker among them,) and Cory Burton's Megatron was surprisingly well done and sinister. Why can't they get Tom Kenny to do more Starscream?
He cute
I preferred David Kaye when he was best Megatron
He was a fine Prime, though.
Better that Prime.
I diligently checked every episode for sari panyshots
sari is the best
Initially turned off by the art style after seeing all of Unicron Trilogy on TV and Optimus having a mouth full time.
the man of action art style doesn't work well with Transformers, that's why not enough people watched it including me
also the toys sucked
I enjoyed it, but I think it last exactly as long as it needed to. 42 episodes was a good length and it completed most of its major arcs, even if the story team had more planned that they didn't get to. It's wholly self contained and can be watched in a vacuum, unlike many of the other good Transformers shows (Beast Wars is dependent on being a sequel to the G1 cartoon and has its own quality challenged sequel in Beast Machines, while Prime was a case of a series with finite plot dragging out for way too long).
I WOULD like to see all those shorts they Hasbro produced but only released, like, half of to the public. They'd be fun as a curiosity and I'll always be disappointed in Shout Factory for not putting them on the blu ray set (it was practically a given).
But it was the best artstyle this franchise ever got
Yeah, and it only looked good in those special stock footage transformation sequences they had to get a completely different studio (Studio 4c) to do, because they studio that actually animated the episodes (Mook) was terrible.
>Also the toys sucked
Fuck you, sure there were some duds, but overall I'd say it was a very solid line. Not the best ever, but still good.
KEK. Nah, the day Derrick Wyatt learn to draw legs and shoulders is the day he can even pretend to be a good artist.
Literally "what if Murakami was plumb awful at basic construction" artist."
>that era when Derrick Wyatt was Cartoon Network's golden boy and did character designs for all their major action shows like Ben 10, Transformers and Mystery Incorporated even though nobody but his CN buddies thought his aesthetic was anything other than hideous
Derrick Wyatt was to Cartoon Network what Clasky Csupo was to Nickelodeon.
>also the toys sucked
Shit-tier b8. Animated has some of the best show-to-toy accuracy in articulate figures with unique transformations. Not every one was a hit, look at Wreck Gar, but then look at Prowl or Lockdown or Oil Slick and tell me it was a bad line.
>TFW it ended 10 years ago
I'll never forgive CN for cancelling season 4.
It was Hasbro
No, it was CN. Hasbro had toys in development and plans for S4, CN canned it. This is what lead to The Hub.
so uhh anyone gonna storytime the new issue out today?
I'm seconding this. Can't find the new issue online, this current IDW is gaining steam very slowly.
why do the siege wfc figures have such autistic texture greebling? they look like they're 3d printed
I think it's great in hand, but the lighting when they make a thousand light sources shine on every crevice, it doesn't do it justice.
i dunno
the toys are good though
Prime > Animated
Stay mad as fuck faggot
The Japanese intro is pure earsex
>also the toys sucked
The Animated toyline was one of the strongest the franchise had ever had. Even the worst ones were okay. (Jetfire and Jetstorm were probably the weakest, but they had a cool gimmick)
Prime was a trainwreck. It was all hype with no sustenance and little payoff.
>Wow Megatron struggled against one insecticon and now he has an army! I sure hope that doesn't pose much a threat-oh they can just casually one hit KO them.
>Oh no Bulkhead has a serious injury, I sure hope he'll be- Oh wait he's fine.
>Huh, Silas is inhabiting Breakdown's body and is part of the Decepticons, can't wait to see how it changes- Oh I see he's out of the picture okay.
>Wow Dreadwing is having a moral crisis with Starscream and the Decepticons, sure can't wait to see- oh Megatron just kills him okay I guess.
>No way, is Smokescreen going to be crowned Prime's successor? That's crazy, I can't wait to see- Oh, he's fine and we'll just ignore it, okay.
Or maybe you're just a big fan of endless scavenger hunts.
Season 2 was basically edgy Energon/Cybertron.
Starscream going back to the decepticons and becoming a loyal bitch killed Prime for me. What a piece of shit.
That too, and I actually liked Steve Blum's Starscream quite a bit. But when he rejoined the cons he became really just pathetic. Especially when he was genuinely upset over Megatron's death, and fucking SHOCKWAVE of all people had to drag him from the battlefield. Like, that's not Starscream at all.
Prime Megatron was also way too lenient on Starscream compared to any other version. How many second chances did he get? Meanwhile, Animated Megatron straight up kills Starscream the second he has the opportunity, not tolerating any of his shit. No other Megatron has killed Starscream the first time he was his aware of his treachery.
>Prowl or Lockdown or Oil Slick
I got all three and they are pretty much perfect.
counterpoint : Sari was a way better character than Miko
IDW did, though Starscream didn't die. Just severily damaged.
Objective Truth: Sari and Miko were exactly the same character who had the same gimmick of "lol I don't care what the Autobots say, I'm going to tag along on their missions and run around like an idiot in a warzone and endanger everyone cause I'm a manic pixie free spirit wooooo!" and both were terrible and made their respective shows worse.
They have nothing in common. Sari was around because 1) she was the healer of the team and 2) her dad was an important ally of the autobots. The kids of prime were there for no reason.
At least other characters acknowledged that there was something wrong with Sari's behaviour (like the kids at her party). I can't remember anyone ever doing that Miko.
>Miko had the Apex Armor and could fight
>Raf could speak to Bumblebee and knew how to fix Cybertronian tech "because computers"
>Jack...?
Jack was the useless deadweight, not Miko or Raf.
Ok. The new issue, where they talk and nothing much happens.
I always hated that show for art style and the tone of the show i never really gave it a second
I'd say that artwise this issue is an improvement, since this is starting to look more like an actual planet with a population and not an empty, desolate wasteland.
I love the voice actors decided to sing opening in the final episode.
youtu.be
And I suppose in the next issue we will find out whether Codexa answers, or if Optimus is talking to a corpse.
She big.
Ok so reading Geomotus. I'm picturing a more feminine voice out of him kinda like Thirteen from My Hero Academia.
drive.google.com
Basically the end of the 4th season. It's...okay-ish. Sari goes full Mary Sue, though. And they can't arse to put Sentinel in jail. And Blackarachnia is still evil. Enjoy.
Shit, does this mean Plantformers could be a thing?
THEN THERE’S THIS ASSHOLE.
Is that Swoop?
Is that Bulkhead?
Haha, another contender for Siege Titan. Scorponok will never get made.
Holy shit, RiD style noseless designs AND what looks like Strika!
Okay is too generous. It started out all right, but got worse and worse. Giving Sentinel a slap on the wrist after he basically committed treason was a really stupid way to end the book, even if Optimus got his old job.
Holy fuck, Megatron ignited the fires of revolution and got a new more powerful body! Sari arrives...and bullshits the plot into submission. I still like the toys, though.
Odds that Rubble becomes Rumble down the road? Color doesn't matter much since him and Frenzy get swapped all the time anyway.
i believe it.
I'm expecting Rubble will join the Decepticons.
Probably.
Or joins Blaster.
Worst option would be that he’s Howlback. Best, maybe a Duocon since those are a fun gimmick?
This. But he says 'Bumble...bee?'
New pages of TRANSFORMERS/GHOSTBUSTERS #1
I like IDW's Ghostbusters comics but I can't stand the way the main cast is drawn. Especially when they are in the same scene with other character who are drawn 'normal'.
...
>Bumblebee is ex-police
>Windblade is police
>Howlback is police
>Wheeljack knows both of them
It makes too much sense.
>the magnum opus of Transformers
That's Transformers the Film (1986).
>where they talk and nothing much happens.
Huzzah! We Walking Dead now!
Too bad it's a rip-off of Star Wars like a good deal of fantasy/science-fiction movies of the era. For real, the parts that shine the most are the ones that have nothing to do with Star Wars.
Top tier music. Top tier banter.
>I've got better things tonight than die.
>Are all cops.
Yes.
The art got worse with each section. Not that I think Herzspalter is bad, but their style is nothing like Animated's. The third is trash.
>dot-eyed Megatron
Vector sigma.
Did something happen to it? It says file deleted when I try to view it.
>Not that I think Herzspalter is bad, but their style is nothing like Animated's
Agree. The art looks good, but Sari especially was way too off-model.
I can still download it just fine. Dunno what happened.
Post stuff.
Decided to rewatch the movie, to see if it still holds up.
This scene in the beginning is fucking awesome. It reminds me of Barefoot Gen of all things - it's framed very similarly, albeit with a lot less humans melting.
Forgot the pic.
>*all that noise just stops*
Animated had neat designs
Prime had neat Arcee
This makes me sad Megatron, Starscream and Optimus never reunited at the end of IDW.
>Prime had neat Arcee
At first I was mad that she was just generic action girl but then I took a closer look.
I remember watching Animated on TV and disliking the style a lot. It looked more primitive than any other Transformers cartoon, so I never took it seriously.
I never liked Animated. Wasn't my thing. And when I said that on this very forum 12 years ago and I said that I enjoyed G1, I got dog piled for it. So I liked it less.
Fun fact, Metroplex was awkwardly added into it later to sell the toy.
I saw fanart of Optimus waiting for Megs to die to cross over together. Can’t find it now.
Of course we know Starscream ain’t dead though.
I liked both. Then Animated squandered all its potential (see the comic posted right after the storytime). I'm a big fan of the toys. however.
Prime Arcee was fucking great. Both feisty and feminine, she was a joy to watch.
I only have Blackarachnia because she’s the only one I liked visually, but if she’s standard for the line then what /toy/ says is true, they do have god tier clever engineering.
Oh shit, my heart. It's been a while since I last saw this Arcee, and she's as cute as I remember.
>a fan comic produced years after the show is an example of Animated squandering its potential
I recommend the Activators, Starscream and Bumblebee in particular. These are little bundles of joy. Bulkhead sucks big time, though.
And yeah, Blackarachnia looks like she fits in the CHUG style.
>actual plot of the ending of the fourth season.
Not shitting you.
I had Starscream, Soundwave, Swoop, and the Battle Begins Optimus and Megatron. It was neat how they had the cartoony limb proportions yet were still able to make decent vehicles out of them.
Well, except for the Megatron, he doesn't look like much of anything.
Overrated.
That jaw baffles me to this day. If I haven't seen Animated, I would've thought that this is a joke figure or something.
->
>to this day there's still debate about which is the front of the vehicle
The Voyager one isn't very good, so I'm glad you got the Deluxe instead.
>magnum opus
Beast Wars is the greatest TF cartoon, hands down.
Animated is just meh. I would rather rewatch Prime, at least that series had a cute Arcee and some decent action.
Yeah, I was actually going to post about how you can't tell which is the front but got distracted..
Considering the quality of the figure and the fun factor, it's a pretty good joke.
Yeah, but the jaw is still fucking ridiculous.
I agree, she's stunning, just like anything else in this film.
I wasn't kidding, I don't think they ever made their mind about that vehicle's front and back.
How about this dude?
obnoxious af, but damn I love his toys
Artstyle grew on me, but 90% of the animation was pretty dogshit.
Characters were overall a likable bunch, but it probably has the worst Prime outside Bayformers, he was pretty fucking boring and generic. Especially for shit that was pretty much Sentinel's fault, who started as a funny jackass nuisance but became just a nuisance by the end. Bumblebee and Bulkhead were fine for what they were. Prowl was good and his development was great. Rachet was the best character in the show and probably the best he's ever been. Sari's alright, and Fanzone's one of the best human characters in Transformers. Decepticons were alright, Megatron was probably the most intimidating hes ever been. Starscream being his own faction was pretty good. Lugnut and Blitzwing were good mooks, and Shockwave was a pretty good piece of shit commando soldier.
Story was overall good. Its anime intro is fucking awesome because its Jam Project doing their thing.
>actual plot of the ending of the fourth season.
Nope. Neither Mcfeely nor Sorenson were even writers of Animated, this is literal fanfiction.
I've never seen a show give up more than Prime. It seems they started out wanting to tell this huge story, then they just dick about collecting the shen gong wu and ripping generic enemies in half.
Here, so everyone can watch it.
youtube.com
cybertron pussy got me feelin strange
The Japanese opening is better than the English one.
I don't see how anyone could think otherwise.
I really liked this iteration of shockwave. That double cross reveal with Blur was one of the best episodes in any transformers cartoon
Pure wife material.
I fucking love Japanese cell animation, they don't make 'em like this anymore.
>cel animation
Fix
>(Beast Wars is dependent on being a sequel to the G1 cartoon
Eh, when I was a kid I never watched G1and was still able to enjoy BW on its own merits with the G1 stuff just being lore; just like a lot of people watched DBZ without watching Dragonball.
Then why is Raven still the most fappable cartoon character of all time CHECKMATE ATHEISTS.
>Meanwhile, Animated Megatron straight up kills Starscream the second he has the opportunity, not tolerating any of his shit. No other Megatron has killed Starscream the first time he was his aware of his treachery.
I think as a long time fan, Animated was very pleasing to watch , cathartic in a lot of ways,
in how it subverts or expands on a lot of Transformers tropes, but still remains enjoyable on its own.
Miko is Sari designed by committee.
You sound weak willed.
I'm glad the Generations Arcee was still mostly modeled after her G1 cartoon self instead of the snarling murder machine the IDW one was at the time. I never liked that unhingeable jaw IDW Arcee had in her early appearances.
I'm not sure what's more disappointing the lazy explanation of sari's origin or the lack of lewd sari shots
Isn't that how hasbro designs all their characters? Or at least the final designs are all worked out or reworked in committee.
I watched it on blu ray and I noticed Arcee doing sexy dancing on Junkion.
Could never see that in the old DVD quality
Undeniable Truth: Sari is absolutely adorable.
IDW Arcee was the definition of tryhard writing. Being written when IDW really tried to push the whole retarded "female Transformers don't exist" thing didn't help either. I'm pretty sure everybody hated what was done to her.
>>actual plot of the ending of the fourth season.
>
>Not shitting you.
It's more like they condensed the script of the opening pilot of season 4 and the ending into one 60 page comic.
Which is why it feels so rushed
>brb going to Amazon
Yeah she's shaking her hips and then does a sexy spin jump kick
It's in that wide shot of everyone dancing
That sounds amazing.
See, I just can’t get into the visual style of anything after Unicron Trilogy.
It all looks like Beast Machines to me. I appreciate the stories, but they just are not fun to actually have to look at. I get more out of synopsis and just listening than I do watching.
Prime is the least unpleasant, but the faces really bother me.
Again, I like the stories. I just dislike seeing them.
Opposite problem of the Machinimas, actually. Nice to look at stills, animation is okay due to frames, but the story is shit. It requires too much background knowledge to make sense, and if you have the background then it just feels like its such a watered down version it may as well just be some unrelated shorts.
Korean, actually.
I wonder if they’ll have localization issues there with Drift and Windblade if they show up in the new cartoon or Bumblebee 2?
It's a normal reaction.
I really like both.
Khorne/Slaanesh lovechild Arcee is only a minor head retool and black repaint away from 80’s teenmom Arcee anyway.
That wasn’t IDW as a whole.
The writers had a lot of free reign. Which is why we got asshole Spike, since that writer thought Transformers should be emotionless antagonists to radical humans like fucking Inhumanoids.
No, this was the Toei production, credits say so.
Where did you get those boobpads?
One of the buildings Unicron ate is a building lifted straight from Fist of the North Star.
Not mine, but they were sole on ebay. Probably still are.
Its more about how bland and generic Miko is compared to sari. Miko is what you'd expect Sari to be if designed by boring people. From her character design to her character itself, Sari is interestingly different, especially for a TF series. her colorscheme is weird but it works, where as Miko's a generic asian girl with pink hair streaks. Sari is a pest but endearingly so, where as Miko is just a cliche action girl.
Froid's back! Interesting... Were the writers being a bit tongue-in-cheek about the sudden exposition? We'll see if he's gonna go bad in this continuity. I miss best boy psychiatrist though...
This is the autistic/special needs add they were talking about, right? As bad as that sounds, it's a p interesting and cute add. Sort of like a reverse Prowl? Or like a Will Graham, p neat.
As much as I loved Roberts' ending, and Scream's character arc, it infuriates me to no end that they didn't get happy endings (in the main universe). I just want everyone to be happy... :c
Woah
What's the best 3rd party Arcee figure? I've seen quite a few but all of them seem kinda flimsy and badly sculpted, Wei Jiang KO looks like the only good option when it comes to quality, price and scale.
I thought Animated was a fun change of pace, but I'm upset that every animated series since besides Machinima takes influence from the art style. Wyatt was clearly a TF fan and it helped show through, but the other stuff just feels like it was made by guys who just take this stuff as a contract job. I just miss the Transformers aesthetic that was home-grown by Hasbro and takara, where the toys are designed first. I really dislike how the movie designs started this wave where the designs due un-intuitive transformations just because the artist thought it'd be cool for a car part to go here or there without giving it any thought.
What kind of Arcee would you prefer seeing in a future series?
Fierce and dangerous warrior? Teacher turned reluctant soldier? Team mom?
None of them are really great but the FansToys one is gorgeous visually.
Both team mom and warrior. The teacher thing was kinda weird but it made good use of Susan blu's more aged voice, which is still adorable.
Both team mom and a brave warrior. Arcee needs to be caring and strong, someone who would always put others before herself.
Thanks for the advice, I'll check it out.
So we have CN to blame for the ponies then.
I imagine ponies might have happened on CN instead.
I always loved watching new episodes.
Sentinel was still the worst character.
who's your favorite version of Arcee?
G1.
It's a cool effect because you don't really notice it in a regular watch and it only becomes apparent when you pause.
It really needed a Season 4. Season 3 was kind of shit but no Transformers series has ever had a good third season.
It's a crime it never got a season to wrap things up. Easily the best Transformers media not named Beast Wars. The toys were great too, it's amazing how well those stylized designs translated to plastic.
But it did wrap everything up. Shittily, but that was par the course for Animated.
pretty sad they didn't bring her back for FoC
>Don't you dare speak to me or my son ever again
This Windblades proportions and facial features are all over the place. She can look very cute at times.
are they still goin ahead with that Optimus Prime movie? Bumblebee gave me hope for this director
>yfw stuck in such a slow moving comic
I think they reshuffled that into Bumblebee 2.0
Nice to find you here, Kreon user.
Fucking loved the art style
fuck off DJW is the best
Debatable, but yeah, I like some of his designs.
so what're the chances the autobots flying in at the end of bumblebee were the ones we saw on cybertron minus cliff
50%-50% all of them are fan favorites, so their chances are high
I actually watched Prime Wars recently and yeah the story was just all over the place and stupid. Animation was great and Megatron was easily the best part of the trilogy.
Do any of you guys play the card game? Set 3 comes out in a couple of months and Soundwave in going to be in it. I'm excited.
You managed to finish it?!
Looks pretty awesome.
Uh yes I did, it was a very uneventful day so I figured I should give Prime Wars a watch.
How did you feel after finishing it?
I'll wait for the handheld video game version.
.. oh wait, companies don't do that anymore because reasons.
They could make a mobile version...there were like 2 of those already. A real one wouldn't be bad.
If I'm being honest I felt nothing for it. Maybe I was missing context because I haven't read any of the IDW comics since lot of the things just flew over my head. Most of the characters were just there.
Don't worry, it's not just you, and it's not because you didn't read IDW. The Machinima series just threw concepts together with absolutely no context behind them, or the completely wrong interpretation. Nothing makes sense even if you did read IDW (not that it should matter anyway, as its A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT UNIVERSE).
The Machinima series are such failures in nearly every single aspect of their production that they're contested with ENERGON for worst Transformers series.
Rouge.
$70-ish, but you get a solid piece of metal with incredible poseability, a lot of alternate heads including those red scanner glasses she uses in the movie, a neat little gun/rifle, and if you’re into it a topless upgrade kit.
Jack was backup prime.
But Sari didn't directly hurt the Autobot cause by losing some artifacts or devices that were crucial to winning the war and reviving Cybertron. Sari actually helped to collect Allspark pieces. Sure Sari was still a bit childish but she was way more mature than that bitch Miko who was in HIGH SCHOOL by the way.
G1 S1 Spike is the basis of comparison for humans.
Miko is the second worst human, after Kicker. She’s less useful, but Kicker is so unpleasant he loses out.
Sari is above Spike since she is useful and actually does end up fighting later.
Chip Chase remains the best human, probably followed by Charlie or Alexis depending on your taste.
The two Neanderthal kids from Beast Wars don’t really count. But if they had to, I’d call them on par with Spike.
We need a tier ranking chart for this.
Think we’ll ever get Buster as Thundercracker’s buddy again?
charlie being the girl from bumblebee? if so she's at the top of my list
Yep.
Less useful than Chip, but the most well-developed as a character without being an asshole or a burden.
RIP the humans from RiD, Armada (except Alexis if I'm right in assuming) and Cybertron
You know I never see people talk about Robots in Disguise. The one from early 2000s.
it's an odd duck series, it was basically a filler show that came out at the worst possible time (9/11)
Good to see y-you too, friend! How have you and secretly-tfg been?
>Eh, when I was a kid I never watched G1and was still able to enjoy BW on its own merits with the G1 stuff just being lore; just like a lot of people watched DBZ without watching Dragonball.
That's fair enough. When DBZ premiered on Toonami in 98, I had no clue it was a sequel to anything and picked it up without trouble.
I play it, but it's pretty bumming how it's so hard to find other players. Or when I do find other players, they're the crazy MTG tier kind. Still gonna get future waves hoping it takes off a little better.
I do like that Shockwave card.
I feel like Backup Prime should be an actual character.
Doubt it. The seekers are so far absent from the current IDW, and the book seems to have a different focus. In Cyberverse that could be possible, but Thundercracker is barely onscreen.
Thundercracker and Skywarp appeared on the covers in jet modes.
We know they will appear because they have Siege toys.
The only question is how important they will be. So far, the important characters are just cops, Rubble’s teachers, and Megs/Optimus themselves.
YES
Preview of number #4
Is that Chromia in the first picture? She looks like she went through a car compactor.
I wish that they would stop in general putting so much details on the bots while leaving the background so simple. It makes the characters look more like toys rather than robots.
I've been doing fine and did you know Firedrive can be a girl?
Good, good!
Huh? You mean Firebolt/Firedrive? I think in the Legends comics it's Shaoshao Li, if that's what you mean. Thought about that as I played with them before bed. You saw my /toy/ post, huh...
>tfw got almost half-off for Firedrive bc someone stole the bullet effects
>have a neat gundude/girl but can never get the effects parts now
I did ok though, r-right?
>inb4 I end up having to get Triggerhappy's friend too
>a lot less humans melting
Its supposed to sell the scale. The greebles are what you’d stick on a Titan normally, so seeing them on these normal characters is supposed to remind you these are 12-30 foot tall technoorganic robot traumatized soldiers.
The irony is Chromia only got a new figure to match the alt modes of the rest of the fembot team so she isn’t the motorcycle in a team of limos and a jet. Instead, they removed the Combiner port and added greebles, making her look even more out of place since as a motorcycle she matched other Combiner teams but now has literally no purpose in the Orthia gestalt unless you use Cog to make her into some kind of weapon. Which just ends up looking like a car being held like a bazooka.
Well, it depends, do you have a Hot Rod?
Also, this.
>REMOVABLE
>PANTIES
>Paint black.
Would make a passable Airachnid.
it's so hard to find good copies of this show, so the DVD release was the CN release which was in 4:3 but the HUB release was in 16:9 and the show was actually animated in 16:9 but that version is only on the Blu-Ray which is nowhere to be found online and there's some crummy TV rips of the HUB version but that's it.
So if you can't get the 16:9 version it's all cut off and shit
N-no
Yes
He's my favourite!
Then yeah, I got mine in the mail, though still no Hot Rod. You did well.
Forgot that the DVD's only lasted until season 2, then we were out of luck until Shout Factory got the rights and both Japan and Netflix got the 4:3 versions. Unreal.
I have Rouge and she is prety mediocre. The price goes for over 100 bucks on average, never seen it for less than that. Her articulation is basic, she can barely stand and is too tall to fit in with any rod other than FT hoodlum. This one fits in better and is the same height as mp 28
>too tall to fit in with any rod other than FT hoodlum
Made by the same company.
The complete series DVD is in 16:9 and I found a copy for 25 canadabucks in a walmart
oh? is that the version in 16:9?
Nice, nice. What figures are you enjoying, then? Hopefully you'll find or get a Hot Rod soon! I gave him his guns as smokestacks, and opened up his bits for the legs and chest to make him look more leader-y. I feel bad about Firedrive being reduced to a gun, so he/she's just sitting there.
There's some headmasters, but I only have the shuttle/jets from Cosmos and Swerve, so I don't really know how to explain targetmasters. Shaoshao Li? Nebulan ayylmaos?
Headmasters and targetmasters are... pretty bizarre and useless - even in the comics, iirc the powermasters were like, just begrudgingly a necessity at best... but at the same time this gimmick is just so fun and amazing ahahaha
Shout Factory also released season 3 as a stand alone set, in case you already had the Paramount releases of season 1 and 2 and didn't want to buy them again through the complete series.
I'm still trying to complete Power of the Primes so I'm still not collecting Siege yet save for a few Targetmasters.
>I feel bad about Firedrive being reduced to a gun
Why?
That was pretty based of them.
Which also looks bad
Heard from an user that Hoodlum is rather stiff and his paint scrapes easily. It already comes scraped from the package.
shout factory is pretty good to transformers, they color correct and fix little errors and usually they turn out great
I heard that what they did to the movie makes it look better than it has ever looked. I'm convinced.
if you're talking about the 30th anniversary blu-ray then they kinda fudged the colors
That's too bad. Still, could be worse.
a lot of companies seem to release blu-ray version that are blue shifted it's not just limited to them it's really weird
I noticed that too, they seem afraid of warm colors because that might 'look bad' on high end TVs where all 'details' must pop.
Remember to get the Japanese version of Throne Of The Primes.
doesn't really make sense for a cartoon though
H-how much does it cost?
$70. Plus shipping.
So the price of a new one.
>Hasbro makes a special black repaint with three minifigs to complete the set their line revolves around, a new hat, a new weapon, and a cardboard display, uniting all the cheap ways to sell the same toy twice in one figure, at $20 more
>MAKES IT EXTREMELY FUCKING LIMITED. Only available in limited numbers at a convention, sells out in 30 min. Limited amount available online, sells out in 15 min and crashes the site for a day.
>Japan goes “Nah, we’ll make it until you stop buying it but you have to wait a year”
>Scalpers continue to sell English one for $160-$200 and oftentimes charge $30 shipping on top of that, Japanese one is $70 with maybe $10 shipping, the toy is the exact same and most of the box is in English anyway
So in your opinion, it is worth it. What's the best place to order it?
Removing the combiner peg was just retarded. Greenlight releases in the future which means you cannot make a full Elita-1 team combiner due to Chromia being a special snowflake.
I got it off Big Bad Toy Store.
But maybe shop around? Maybe you can find a place that does free shipping.
I didn’t get the regular one since I still have the original from when I was a kid. But the black repaint makes him look like a gorilla again despite being Transmetal 2, the crown+scepter+throne look great on the shelf, I can play around with it without fear of Gold Plastic Syndrome in my original, and it did complete my Prime collection.
Throne Primal is of course better with the deluxe upgrade kit to restore his fourth mode, fill the gorilla back, have articulated fingers, and have two of his original gun. But I wouldn’t call it necessary by any means, especially as a shelf piece.
Word of advice for Predaking if you get him; without the $70 DNA Designs upgrade kit, he’s shit. With it, he’s the best option on the market for the character but unless you luck out on sales then it’ll run you $250.
Ebay can save you though. Keep the figure and the kit in your watch list, keep an eye out for those “One day only, 20-40% off any purchase with this code” sales.
post your fav obscure bots
True.
Like I said, you can use Cog to make her into a weapon for Orthia as a fanmode. But you can also use CW Chromia as part of the team too, as things like a chest or a backpack and it looks better.
Whaaat? I don't get you user... Just get the toys you like, and don't get the ones you don't! And Hot Rod's from Titans Return, you dummy!
And like, imagine you have to stay in gun mode all day, not being able to shoot anyone, just kept there bc your owner posed you and forgot about it... Maybe I'm too sentimental though, I sometimes put some of my transformers on their backs so they can sleep or rest instead of standing all day.. Maybe I'm weird...
>tfw I don't own a SINGLE picture of Xaaron
Aaaaaaa I want to draw my Kreon of him in a schemy Gendo Ikari pose but aaaaa
Xaaron was p great imo
Well you took my first.
So how about Nightbird.
He’ll probably become rumble
Chromia's vehicle mode looks like a half-track here.
Alright! Though given all the problems with Predaking I might go the KO route, which I have never done before.
I love Nightbird.
I don't think Hot Rod treats Firedrive badly, especially if she's Shaoshao.
Yeah, some KOs are actually higher quality. Like the PotP Dinobots.
Not sure if they’ll include Onyx or not. It’d be cool if they do.
So, for the first true Earth Transformer do we count characters like the Dinobots who were made by Cybertronians in the Cybertronian style, or Nightbird who was made by humans in the human style and presumably given a Spark by Atlas?
I doubt it, but who knows, it would be a pleasant surprise. I'll keep in mind your advice about eBay.
I'd say Nightbird, especially now that she got a toy and can't be ignored anymore.
YEAH no, yeah, Hot Rod's a good guy. Shaoshao doesn't have much to do as a robot though, can't really perch her on Hot Rod in any way..... oHGOd do I have to buy more targetmaster buddies?
>buddies for the jets are out, but only own Triggerhappy
>have Kup, might begrudgingly get Hasbro Blurr
This is stressing me out, I bought it bc Hot Rod could get to bring a friend, and the missing parts meant I could get it for cheap.
Also saw a photo of someone having swapped a cyberverse Shockwave for the siege one in some facebook group, I later managed to see that irl at Wal-Mart. Never saw any leaders irl... but at least I have legends Shockwave and Kreon Ultra Magnus, r-right
I love Scrounge a lot, too
Firedrive's Hot Rod's friend, don't stress too much, it's fine, and since he is a headmaster they can hang out at a smaller scale.
Hm. A thought occurs.
Simon Furman's Regeneration One had, among other messages, an overarching moral that ultimately, its our actions and decisions, the consequences that result from them, and how we deal with them that define who we are as people. That titles don't determine your life. The IDW universe, originally started by Furman, stresses that as its final moral as well. I wonder if that was intentional?
.......
Or maybe I'm just really fucking bored and overthinking things.
It's a nice moral to end a series on.
I remember liking it
Context?
Woah... You're very kind, and good at soothing my autistic worries, thank you. I guess I can pose him pew-pew now and then. I don't have that many bad guys though... Oct/Blitz, the Darkwing couple, Megatron, and Overlord are some of the big guys for me, the rest are p small or independent.
Shut the heck up, Poco! Ha ha ha, no you're alright. Glad you enjoyed Regen One.
>The IDW universe, originally started by Furman, stresses that as its final moral as well.
Hmmm?
>I wonder if that was intentional?
It seems a bit unlikely, but yeah, the endgame in both series-es featured the TFs re-examining who they were as a race and as individuals, so uh
hmm
That's quite a lot to think about actually. Best boy Roddy featured in both though, and he grew a lot as a person, so I'm happy. Who are some of your favourites? Do you have any Kreons?
None of these pics are mine
Do I have Kreons? Nah, skipped those. Plenty of BotBots and Tiny Turbo Changers, though.
>Nah, skipped those
Bad pogo, bad! >:c
Could you post pics?
who dat
You are welcome! They could fight any of those.
But I want bigger bad guys! Kind user, can you buy me a Trypticon if you see one lying around? I'll pay you in hugs and Kreon ideas
Maybe someday.
G1 Metroplex still holds up.
Neat
Woah! Cute image, too.
I wonder if I can make one out of boxes... Thought Broadside would satisfy my craving, but he's still too smol..
Metrobox.
How about a cabinet?
Does anyone have links to Transformers Animated in 1080p?
That and the fact the toys and vehicle modes kept their designs and proportions from the show was great.
Metroshelf.
It's hollow, so that's a plus, but no articulation! Yuck.
Hahaha
Oh stop
If you had Travis Knight in a room with an hour to convince him to put your favorite Transformer in the next movie, who would you pick and why?
No.
But box Metroplex doesn't sound half bad.
Galvatron cyclonus scourge and unicron would be cool.
Windblade, she's not my favorite but it could use the opportunity to set a Transformers movie in Japan and introduce some Japanese Transformers into the mix. Like Raiden or Metalhawk.
Ratbat but with his comic personality(s) of being intelligent and vocal.
Because a giant robotic talking bat is fucking awesome.
Jazz.
He wouldn't need much convincing for Jazz.
Would be nice to have a Jazz who is a laid back funky guy again instead of "whoops I killed a guy and the entire planet hates me" or "whoops Megatron ripped me in half". Too bad Animated Jazz didn't get more screen time.
Hmm, what'd be a cheap and ezpz way to go about it? I suck at painting but my hands are somewhat steady...
Also that's a cute thingy! What is it?
Marvel Ratbat was just one of the most unpleasant yet endearingly consistent and practical Decepticon leaders (iirc?) we've had. Might make his Kreo dude less greedy and more practical...
For me, it's Hot Rod. We've had so many totally-not-Rod leaders-to-be that it's time for our flaming boy to be back in the spotlight.
Please?
A Ravage sketch a drawanon posted a while ago. I think it's cute.
Yeah, Marvel Ratbat was anal about records and efficiency when he first started leading the Earth based Decepticons. There was one issue where Trypticon was moments from destroying the Ark but Ratbat recalled him back to Cybertron as Tryps went over his allotted fuel limit while fighting off the Dinobot reinforcements.
IDW has finally learned (or isn't?).

I was literally about to mention the Trypticon incident. I was gonna make him the sort of Phezzan-like dealer that plays both sides of the war, selling weapons and gaming the market and being a bit sinister like his early IDW counterpart... but Marvel's budgetary sperglord is becoming more and more endearing haha.

Wow, reading the wiki, I forgot about the car wash fiasco. It was pretty campy but I love how it took itself so seriously. I think there was a callback to it in RG1 too. He tenure went as far as the Underbase saga! I thought Straxus was underrated as a Marvel leader, but I have to say Ratbat was the most creative and Scorponok the most touching.
It's been a pretty bad day but this is such a comfy place... I'm thankful for tfg. c:

>Ron Joseph, MIA?
Back before IDW I never figured that Transformers comics would be more about talking than giant robots fighting. When are we going to see giant robots fighting again?
Who was Ron Joseph?
He seemingly dropped out of TF early to finish his delay-ridden GI JOE ARAH arc
You are welcome!
That's better, I think. Better take care of G.I. Joe first.
>Prime aka 'Annoying characters keep making their own problems and writers keep dropping plot points: The Show'
>better than Animated
>RiD was better than Prime anyway
It's a shame we never got to see more of Ambulon's combiner team.
I'd like to try and give some character to his teammates.
Kicker - Loves kicking people when they're down - figuratively and literally.
Swing - Loves punching things, or hitting people with blunt objects.
Arm-or - Armor and weaponsmith, has equipment for every scenario.
Abdominus - Fatherly figure, been known to body slam his foes into oblivion.
What'd be a good name for their combined mode? What colors would each have (assuming Ambulon was originally blue and purple)?
Name, how about Attacker?
what does everyone hate on IDW for? I enjoyed them
>car wash fiasco
tell me more.
I sure as hell didn't like their last years but...I cried reading the last issue.
hey i have some of those
Nice, witch Seekers are cool.
I've never been big on giant robot shows in general. The Sari storyline was the standout sci fi element, and my interest waned as that plot thread was pushed towards the back burner.
If I had to pick, I'd go with Beast Wars.
Beast Wars still reigns supreme as the best one.
That little light on Shockwaves head just makes him look like some weirdo robot mouth-breather.
Maybe he'll finally learn to aim.
Combinon or something either clever or redundant
Gestaltitron? Gestalticus...Combinor?
Who the fuck was in charge of this?
Also, if reds=blues and whites=purple, then we may be able to see what his Decepticon version looked like
tfwiki.net
tl;dr:
>Ratbat devises a scheme to get fuel from the humans
>hypnotizes the Tony Stark-esque human ally, BASED G.B. Blackrock, into making these hypnotic car washes
>human teen ally Buster Witwicky finds out
>nearly gets killed by Ratbat, saves the day
It's infamous as one of THE campiest and most absurdest stories in Marvel, the closest for second place I can think of is that tiny plotline where Skullgrin became a movie star
The Marvel tenure - especially the UK run, which introduced loads of extra neat characters and stories bc the release stuff was different I guess - was a long but p exciting and kino storyline overall. There were some extra bits in the UK series, such as the letters pages which eventually got taken over by various characters such as Grimlock, and there was a thing called Earthforce, where Grim and co were doing shenanigans in Canada because Furman didn't know what was happening - or at least the specifics - in the US storyline.
Uhhhh I forgot what I was gonna say. Kre-o!
youtube.com
did they discontinue kre-o? i haven't seen any in a long time
Toys or fiction?
I wouldn’t bother either way though I suppose. Nobody wants to see any live action Beast Wars characters who weren’t in the cartoon, and throwing in characters like Rung or Nightbird would be a waste of time for the audience before at least the G1 and post movie cast are there. Blackarachnia should be saved for Beast Wars, and Victorion should absolutely not be the first Combiner on screen.
Fuck it. I’d convince him to have some mainstream stuff I like and would make an exciting climax fight. Like Metroplex and Trypticon, or Predaking and Sky-lynx.
Or better yet, the Junkions. With Rum-maj.
Even the old Marvel was like that. Remember when Starscream first learned the spirit of Christmas?
The UK and G2 are the only Transformers comics where fighting takes precedence.
>Starscream first learned the spirit of Christmas?
>Imagining live action Sharkticons
>In a Transformers movie with an R-rating
At one toy fair thing, we were shown previews of Drift and Blitzwing battle-changers (larger builds of guys that could transform without partsforming) , some of the themed costumed blind bags (cowboys, ninjas, etc), and uhh... this thing.
After that, some repackaged box-sets showed up in discount/dollar stores in the states apparently. The older blind bags, I think at least waves 1-3, were re-released with the new updated parts. Noted by the slightly smaller, and less rounded legs, and I think a peg in the torso for more stability? The old and new parts are incompatible but the new ones have better tampos but also no helmet paint and no code on the bag to tell you what's inside.
I had yet to see any of this in Canada, but I managed to pick up an updated Beachcomber (my boyy), a Nemesis Prime (RID Scourge now)... and a Long Haul. Not quite sure what to do with the latter, bc I can't really mix parts. This unannounced and unrequested Thing They Did was uhh.. I mean, it gave people a chance to catch up? There was some children's toy/game line they did for Kreo, but that died out.
Oh oh, there were some RID (Bee and Friends) Kreons with armour sets that you could give them to make them bigger and more posable. Like Magnus/Fortress-sized.

Does this link work? Missed out on Strongarm, I gradually warmed up to her
because boner
but yeah, she's been neglected - all the other dudes had small and affordable customs.
Also kids and Sky Lynx being kidnapped by a space circus. And again, SKULLGRIN BEING VOLUNTARILY CAST FOR HUMAN MOVIES
Nah, the first time.
Skullgrin works so well in comics.
but thats bludgeon isnt it?
That's Skullgrin, silly. He has a skull and he's doing that weird grin he does, see?
Anyway, here's another fancy custom someone else did.
>tfw have an armoured tank-transforming Skullgrin and one that I think might be able to but not sure
One's with Thunderwing and co, and the other one's uh...? A monk? A haunted piece of armour? A Skullgrin from another world? What do I do with my duplicates aaaa
Strongarm's cute.
Shit, yeah. Mixed them up, sorry.
Although that prompted me to look up what happened to Skullgrin in IDW. I guess he survived repeated almost fatal events, only to survive and have his own brand of booze by the time of the postwar.
>tfw read depressing comfy onee-san doujins and was gonna sleep but then I saw my (You)s, and spent 30 minutes on this post
You're cuter!
>that pic
That's Bludgeon, silly. Not much is said about him, he was with Shockwave when he escaped Garrus-9, so I guess he went into the drinky/energy business. Glad he did well.
Skullcruncher, the guys Sandstorm killed, and other randos having post-war careers, that's p comfy. I recall an idea that someone people mentioned and I chimed in on:
>post-war Optimus, lone trucker driving through Cybetron
>slice-of-life/one-shots showing the culture, cuisine, conflicts, etc. of different cities
>older/studious bots may recognize him but he's just a kindly old man
>we're drip-fed what happened, the war and its battles, the bonds formed
Looked up something and found a bonus too, look up:
>Why A German Pilot Escorted An American Bomber To Safety During World War II
>Foes now friends: US stealth pilot and the Serb who shot him down
Comfy stories like that, you can get rando pairings to do whatever you want.
>Guiledart and Skullgrin, the Gilbert and Sullivan version of comedy operas making fun of war and politicians
>they do a version of the Mikado, making fun of either Galvatron or Bayverse Prime, not sure
>youtube.com
>it's so good that he's not even mad
Okay, that's all the time I've got. I got to get back to playing with my Kreons on my ikea single bed.
Good night, sweet dreams
That’d be fun. Like. MTME, but far less deaths.
So, Bumblebee...you said your ex is into diving? Its, like, over, right?
I really hope they bring Charlie back.
...they probably won't, will they?
Nah, I don't think so. They'll gonna use Bumblebee as an opportunity for a full reboot, focusing more on the Transformers rather than humans, and Charlie's story is over anyway.
John Cena might be coming back tho, his character would be useful to have around.
IDW TRANSFORMERS #1 SECOND PRINTING ANNOUNCED
“The response to the new Transformers series has been amazing,” says editor David Mariotte. “For a franchise with such a rich history — not just here, but in so many mediums — the first issue was something we knew we had to get right and it’s incredibly gratifying to me, the incredible creative team, the fine folks at Hasbro, and probably to Rubble and Bumblebee that so many people have jumped on-board. We have a lot more coming!”
>“The response to the new Transformers series has been amazing
has it really though. even though i'm liking it, everyone i know feels lukewarm or meh towards it.
I think they mostly mean good sales, shit's selling really well if they're doing reprints. I guess Bumblebee really did breathe some new life into the franchise as a whole.
I'm sure they'll bring her back, she had so muxh chemistry with Bee, it would be very dumb to ignore her in subsequent movies.
Animated was the best Transformers show.
Lugnut and Lockdown were absolute kino.
And Lockdown was such a great character that they put him in one of the live action movies
Did I miss more continuation comics like this, or is this it? Does it pick off where the show ended?
This is basically it unless you read the Allspark Almanacs.
It had the only version of Optimus Prime I actually like as a character besides Primal. And I may have liked Animated OP a bit more than Primal even.
>Meanwhile, on /toy/
Wtf, I love /toy/ now.
EARTH PLANETFORMER WHO ISN’T UNICRON WHEN?
God, I love Sarah Stone's work on Transformers. To this day I think that her version of Windblade's design is the most iconic one, and she also gave us one of the best comic book covers in TF history. Her artwork definitely helped with Windblade's popularity.
kek
Seconded.
That’s the Windblade I like and want to see going forward. The artist’s range of expression was amazing, you could remove the dialogue and still follow the situation.
Pretty spot on.
The best Transformers show hands down.
Has the best Optimus since Dadptimus from the 80s, Bulkhead is excellent, Prowl is basically Drift but hey it works, Ratchet is fantastic as an old man and Bee isn't annoying.
It's such a shame that we will never see anything as creative for Transformers shows now that Hasbro has decided to homogenize everything into the same G1 thing.
Also Prime sucked, and for being a "darker" show it sure as hell wasn't as dark as Animated could be.
You're retarded. TFA Optimus's journey amounts to "Sentinel Prime embarasses himself more and more so Optimus stops doubting himself even though he was always a great leader and guy and had no growth need to happen or happening'. Prowl never gets a story worth shit and his finale arc is flat out embarrasing to watch. Bumblebee was an annoying buzzy cunt all of the time with that shitty Futurama voice to boot too.
It's not even close to being a good show. It's only decent in the manner that it wasnt as bad as the animes or the bay movie.
Sarah Stone draws like a deviantart schlicking whore and can't do action for shit. "Muh pretty Windblade face" is literally all she has going for her.
you are wrong on both accounts but ok
You'd fail to prove me wrong though, because you are a retarded faggot and that is not ok.
wait are you the same guy from the toy thread
Unironically, I like the idea.
>drive.google.com
OMG YES I HAVE WANTED THIS FOR YEARS NOW!!!! Thank you user!
Yeah, most other artists have a hard time drawing her decently enough to look presentable, much less having her emote effectively. A big problem is that other artists overemphasize the lines on her face, and in the current IDW comic it makes her head look like a nut cracker.
I hate this image. Are all of your opinions based solely on popularity? You're actually fucking stupid.
>I hate this image.
Duly noted.
Which is ironic. Her face is designed after Kabuki theater samurai protagonist makeup.
The guys who make the most wild facial expressions in Kabuki, to the point that even in plays where all the actors use masks to portray their one main emotion for the scene the samurai guy still just mugs for the audience and chews the scenery.
>to the point that even in plays where all the actors use masks to portray their one main emotion for the scene the samurai guy still just mugs for the audience and chews the scenery
That's poetic. Considering the number of toys and appearances she had in these 4 years, you can say that Windblade does pretty much that.
She actually looks pretty decent there.
Yeah, quite super robot-ish.
Yeah, that commercial is actually pretty interesting because she appears there alongside Optimus and Bumblebee. I guess Hasbro wants to make her the definitive female Transformer because she's the next best thing after Arcee, but Arcee's just too pink for the target audience, while Windblade's design turned out very unique and visually striking (and she's a jet, everybody loves jets).
She's basically this generation's Jetfire, but also female.
True.
But outside that brief period when the artist’s personal life made her quit, Windblade is portrayed stoically.
I think she suffers from the same Hermoine complex a lot of fictional females have these days. Which is really unfortunate, she really is a cool character.
Cyberverse kinda helped her since she shows her softer side while interacting with Bumblebee.
I think RID2015 had the right idea....basically a magical girl on a mission from god.
>Unicron Trilogy Jetfire
>Generations Windblade
Makes sense. Just without the combining.
I think it's important for Windblade to be somewhat naive and soft. We have enough stoic warriors as it is, her being a more relatable, struggling character would be nice.
>flagstaff has achieved full mast
This video kind of sums up what I’m talking about.
Windblade basically stopped being a main character who has development and can make mistakes or be expressive once Starscream was arrested, and has only comes somewhat close to it since.
That’s why we mostly have “HI, I’M WINDBLADE, THE MAIN CHARACTER” and not “I’m Windblade, your protagonist off and on in this series.”
She was very pretty! She was ok in her mini and the character shined a lot in TAAO. It takes some time for OCs to do well, but I'm glad for Drift, Windblade, and Rung... For me it's Arcee mommy, but as long as Windblade's frequency or characterization isn't just aggressive shove-down-your-throat, I think we'll get used to her. How was she in Machinima and Cyberverse?
In addition to all the points everyone else made, I'd like to add the two are in radically different contexts:
Sari Sumdac is a home-schooled weirdo who's rebellious because her dad has kept her basically locked up in his tower with little or no peer interaction for the first eight years of her life. Her introduction is weirding out a school tour group, asking them earnestly what it's like to hang out with other kids and have a normal life, and then getting dragged away by Tutorbot. She's acting out cuz she's a sheltered kid exploring the world.
Not only is Miko like, twice Sari's age, but she's an *international exchange student* whose introduction is bitching about her host family. She doesn't have the excuse of being sheltered, she's a westaboo who's getting to live abroad and be treated like a guest in somebody else's home, and so she immediately came off to me as ungrateful. And the fact that the show would constantly have her do stupid, selfish shit only to contrive for her not to suffer consequences only made it worse. Like in the episode when Bulkhead got overloaded with brain-melting super-smarts just cuz she HAD to run into the middle of a battle, and she doesn't acknowledge it's her fault until the very END of the episode, and before that guilt can really set in, he's immediately miraculously healed by the power of her ROCK.
I don't think there's such a thing as a bad character, I'm sure there're good stories that could be written with some version of Miko... but yeah. coming hot off the heels of TFA, she felt like a poor man's imitation, copying the surface level without understanding WHY the character worked.
In Machinima, we have this parody. More of us remember it than the series itself.
In Cyberverse she’s okay. She’s basically Bumblebee’s partner in crime and likeable if bland. Like in the new IDW. Seems that’s her shtick, being Bumblebee’s sister. Which is fine, I don’t think anyone really cares for the Throttlebots and Bumblebee far outshone all the other Drones.
Also Miko is annoying. And constantly gets rewarded.
Read Scioli's Transformers vs. G.I. Joe, user.
You're both waifu faggots who let pretty visuals overwrite any sense of storytelling
Trash was a bust earlier this week because of the guy who kept spamming those anime girls, give me some art requests to doodle. The blockier the better
even if it was one of the worst of the movies, I'm always happy to see an original character from one universe show up in another. Like Slipstream in WfC, or IDW Knock Out
>>Unicron Trilogy Jetfire
Australian Jetfire is best Jetfire. change my mind.
man, i loved that guys comics. i dont think i have any saved
>Haha, another contender for Siege Titan. Scorponok will never get made.
They're not gonna make a toy of that friggin' thing in the comic, user. Not only would that be IDW-pandering of a higher order than anything else they've done, the design and the name of that thing are just too generic and not gonna command top dollar, the way a $150 GEEWUN city will.
eh who knows.
I mean there's still a 3rd part for the WFC trilogy, they could have that Leviathan thing be for the final instalment. Scorponok is totally next year's toy.
Draw me a Strongarm or Maxima.
>Starscream in the new IDW series is too much of an asshole to even bother working for Megatron to start off with
>Also is the main antagonist of the Ghostbusters crossover
It's a good day to be a fan boys
>Australian
But user, that's Nebulan. Like these guys.
Something Transformers Easter.
T30 was mostly a line of IDW pandering.
This is a good one, ill get started
Fan boys for.... fans toys?
See, this is a good Windblade.
Begins misanthropic because she’s dedicated to the Titans by profession, and even though this makes her basically a priestess in her people’s religion she only cares for her part of it.
Generally believes in the goodness of all beings, but finds out her race cause unparalleled destruction to the entire universe and is mostly traumatized bitter veterans who have no idea how to live in the postapocalyptic hellscape that is the planet she was always told was an Eden. The chosen one of her religion is an insane hyperparanoid schemer literally unable to comprehend anything but a world of cutthroat betrayal, the Titans which are like her religion’s angels are mostly insane and dying from neglect, her bodyguard and confidant almost ended the peace and got her killed repeatedly just in a plot to go home, one of the Gods is a mortal who seems like an asshole and lives with organics, and the best people she can find are barflies, one kind of literally, who cling to each other for comfort. Even one of the Titans is an amazingly evil corrupter. She helps kill another.
All of which she is allowed to react to with the emotional devastation and calm disappointment that is appropriate. She doesn’t grit her teeth and scowl or glower to look cool, she is allowed to be utterly heartbroken and depressed. Panic, fear, the depth of sorrow, she’s allowed to show all of it.
Then she is put in the running for leader of Cybertron, and stays stoic and detached for the rest of the series. Just like every other Windblade.
I really like how their eyes are drawn
This
Agreed. It sells the emotions so well.
Too many artists give their expressions all to brows and mouth, some not even giving them brows. Eye shape can sell emotion too, but some artists just can’t pull it off and some characters just look like they only have one emotion on their face at all times.
Pupils aren’t necessary, but it helps a lot for the main cast. Plus, it gives characters who lack them like Optimus a sense of power, like a knight with his helmet always on.
I liked how how she went into the job optimistic and calm only to realize Cybertron and 90 percent of it's population are assholes and the leader (who they elected) is a sociopath. Life just kept beating her down endlessly but she weathers it all and manages to keep her head above water most of the time. Shame once her comics ended she lost almost all her personality and nuance and became just another generic character to toss into scenes until it was all over.
Will we ever see Devil Z in the west? I feel like he’s a good stepping stone to Unicron, so he doesn’t end up the main threat for the whole series. He can be a lurking threat of course, since we always know Unicron is coming, but he always feels like he comes out too soon now.
I always wondered if Devil Z is the reference to Mazinger Z, since "majin" in Mazinger can be translated as "devil" and the Chinese subs infamously translated it as Devil Z.
"Devil Z" wouldn't be a name Hasbro would want for the character in the West so it would have to be renamed to something less interesting. Same with "Violin Jigar" or whatever his name is this week.
Yeah no I saw that hahaha, just wasn't sure how accurate that was.
>likeable if bland
Hmmm?
Her naivete was actually p endearing as she became Autobot Starscream over time. I plan to make her nasty but likable as Xaaron's successor uhuhu
>Starscream in the new IDW series is too much of an asshole to even bother working for Megatron to start off with
Huh?
BASED Firedrive/Shaoshao, what a neat purchase
Windblade is cute! CUTE!!!!
cringe
...
It was al thanks to Scott, once she stopped writing her series, Windblade just remained.
Not sure what you mean by "Autobot Starscream". Windblade is by no means treacherous or self-serving, she upheld her ideals 'till the end.
Still better than Führer Darkness.
But yeah.
He’s good as an evil Planetformer. Literally a bad moon on the rise.
Stop posting this cringe ass human gijinka shit
i always thought it was neat she got to write a Windblade focused episode of RID and Cyberverse.
Much better, bots or go home. Gininkas are low effort girl designs in bad cosplay
She's a very talented writer.
Is this a Gigjerka?
Any chance you can storytime it user because the link doesn’t work for me
Speaking of Mazinger Z is crossing over with transformers pretty soon
I like how they gave the outlandish Australian accent to the level-head sensible one.
I hope Cybertron Jetfire gets a redo at some point as part of the WfC line.
Fuck it, they gave the duocons new toys. Why can't Aussie Jetfire get one?
fuck you nigger i like it
It always pisses me off that it was Chromia who set off the explosion yet was lying to and stringing her best friend into blaming Rattrap and Starscream who were actually innocent for once. Pretty much destroyed her character when that happened. Not to mention that if things didn't wrap up as conveniently as they did then she would have one very vengeful pissed off Starscream who would stop at nothing to get his revenge with Windblade being the target.
Damn, good point. I wish we got more than Chromia getting shipped off to space jail, now.
Is that a custom job?
yeah it's a custom.
Huh
A lot can happen in 7-8(?) issues, maybe Megatron got ousted, maybe it's part of a false flag, etc... Also cover art can be misleading. But your suggested notion is is hilarious, that'd be a pretty neat depiction of SS
That was a bad example, sorry. Other people called her that in the past. I and they meant moreso in terms of how she had to do political maneuvers and some deceptions (? can't remember) to sort of keep Starscream in check. I guess Pyra Magna's moreso the Autobot Starscream, just outright plotting against him TO HIS FACE.
>Windblade is by no means treacherous or self-serving, she upheld her ideals 'till the end.
And if you want to go this way, one can argue that near the end of IDW's run, Starscream wasn't like this either. TAAO/Unicron's Starscream was p good, I wouldn't want a 1:1 repeat of it for nuIDW but it was a p kino change imo.
Well, IDW Starscream got quite a bit of character development.
Find a flaw.
horns
What, don't like horns on BBee?
Over saturated. Where's Cliffjumper?
Yeah, that he did! But petty and openly treacherous Starscream is p hilarious as well.
What's this supposed to Bee? Pretty nice and shiny. Our boy's all grown up ;_;
...dead.
Agh! That's too cute! And yep, Bee's a man now.
I don't care much for shipping but this pair, unf.
And yeah, this Bumblebee Victory design, it's like RID leader-Bee + Hot Rod becoming Rodimus, all in one. Man, our man-boy is so cool.
Some questions/ideas I've been spitballing:
>Predacon forest
>was thinking of copying the Yiling stuff like I did for Seaspray/Beachcomber vs Sima Yi/Zhuge Liang
en.wikipedia.org
>are the trees organic/flammable
And these can be separate or they can compliment each other:
>Cybertron is actually Earth
>this could make its secret Quintesson operators the descendants of humans
>the Unicron entity/virus is actually the original Unicron that survived/evolved
This could let me use some human Kreons bc I can just say that the TFs are micromaster-sizedish, so they and the humans are around the same scale. It's also a neat twist and it saves me the bother of explaining organics and animals and going to Earth
I think this might be a radical twist but maybe it's dum, I dunno...
Depends on how you execute the twist, really, there may be some potential there.
And we all fall for one ship, don't worry.
Bumblebee is cool.
What ever happened to Tracks? Is he still around?
Yeah, he got a classics toy and a Masterpiece, some cameos in Animated. The problem is that Corvette doesn't like the flame deco and the name so a repaint of AOE Crosshairs ended up named Hot Shot. He is alright in my opinion, wished he showed up more.
Ahhh but how do I do it aaaa
>And we all fall for one ship
What's your preference, you filthy degenerate >:c
Did you get a chance to meet the VA? Think I saw your pic either here or on /toy/, you seem to be a fan of Bee. Changed my mind when I met the guy, heard his stories, read his book... He really gets an undeserved rap.. I hope his movie was good though.
Go watch Bumblebee, is good!
And Transformers ship? Huh. Maybe Strongarm/Sideswipe?
>Go watch Bumblebee, is good!
Psssh nah. But RoF, now that's a transformer movie.
I was there, opening day, first showing. Some cool scenes but I'd still abide by Bee.
not to start shit, but
isn't RotF considered pretty much universally to be the worst thing ever?
Saw both AoE and TLK.
RotF is alright by those standards.
It got better rating compared to AoE and TLK.
I would consider TLK to be the worst thing ever. It managed to crash the entire Bayverse which topped the charts with the absolute shite movies before, that's how bad it was.
For a movie made without a fucking script, RotF is "adequate".
As a film compared to any other film, it's complete garbage and only redeemed by Jetfire.
>is good!
Ohhh! I'm looking forward to it. I'm gonna find a thing for it right now, actually. I didn't have anyone to watch it with, so I didn't want to go and be next to all the happy people on Christmas haha. I got an HD thingy for the 86 movie I was gonna rewatch too, still never got aroudn to it.. anyway
>Maybe Strongarm/Sideswipe?
Ehhhh??
I'm not that familiar with the show, but I geuss you're a huge fan of it huh. Either we talked before or someone else did.. I hope i can find Kroens from the RID stuff at TFcon
>pic
I love how that episode became a meme. It's so funny.
>I hope i can find Kroens from the RID stuff at TFcon
Oh, you are going there. That's cool.
>It's so funny.
You're so funny
>Oh, you are going there. That's cool.
Ehhh? What's with that reaction...
Oh sorry. I meant: That's cool!
Thanks.. Did you go to TFcon before? Did you not like it? It's a bitch to get to but seeing the neat creators are fun and so's finding nice deals on stuff I didn't know I wanted. It's nice!
Nope, too far from where I am, but I guess it must be pretty great!
you feel that this show has been made ot sell toys but DAMN this was a good show. Loved the fact that the human vilains were cartoonish af but the deceptiocons were mostly scary (you felt like they were the real threat).
Ahhh, I see. It's ok. More of a yearly ritual , I go on cybertron.ca and try to make some deals beforehand and meet some vendors. It's a p nifty place. Comics to get signed, new scripts to nab from Roberts, toys toys...
Let me know if you're ever coming, I'll buy you a kreon!! It'll be fun!!!!
Good night!!!!
These comics are fucking golden.
Windblade appears in everything because she's the 30th anniversary brand celebration character that had fan votes decide much of her design. She'd still be in everything if she ended up being male instead of female.
>that had fan votes decide much of her design.
sure, sure.
You can google the vote online, the only thing Hasbro changed was her homeworld.
Yes that's exactly what happened.
Then she's a perfect example of why letting fans have any say in anything is a horrible, horrible idea.
Why?
>one of the most popular characters of the recent years
Yeah, sure.
>popular
Sure, yeah.
Don't be a hipster, everybody hates hipsters.
Are his boots Italy and New Zealand?
what
Sounds pretty awesome and sure!
TRANSFORMERS: THE BASICS on the DECEPTICON JUSTICE DIVISION
Thank you, news user.
Are there any scans of Epilogue Two from G.I. Joe vs Cobra #9?
In IDW, he was built to be a miner. He wanted to be a doctor, so they killed his friends and beat him nearly to death.
So he started a revolution and murdered them all.
Still less insane than stuff that has happened in real life.
I don't know why you guys are trying to push revisionist history so hard. tfwiki.net
no i know that, what confuses me is the Ratchet head on Medictron,
agreed. building up megatron the way they did and having him just straight up murder starscream when he came back was great
i'm gonna need to ask for sauce on this
funny, these just started showing up in my recommendations
maybe it's just a medic helmet?
Yeah, and they were right about that.
Previous thread
Would Yea Forums love a Transformers animated movie like Spiderverse?
Sure, but we still need more Transformers movies that are actually good without any gimmicks.
Yeah, that would be fantastic.
How many good Spider-Man movies are there anyway? I don't even think the Raimi ones were that good, either. He misses the mark on Doc Ock.
>tfw no Basics episode this week
IDW shit nobody cares about is not the Basics. Worst episode since THE BASICS ON FUNPUB BEAST WARS FAN FIC I GOTTA SHILL
Aye. Mcfeeley's a fag and doesn't deserve the attention.
The first two Raimi movies were good, and Homecoming was good. People liked them. In comparison, the only highly-rated Transformers movie is Bumblebee. The 1985 movie was great for the fans, but not for general audiences.
Well, if we are counting the first two Raimi movies and Homecoming, then the first Bay movie is 'decent'.
Nice thread, everyone.
Till all are one.
