Cartoon is great.
Dilbert is fucking terrible
Not gonna lie, I assumed it was older than 30.
>*Crack*
>*Sip*
>Dilbert? Now THAT is a comic strip!
Congratulations Dilbert, youve reached the age you become invisible to IT hiring agencies
...this...
fuck me
I prefer cool ranch
Same, I thought Dilbert predated Simpsons by 5 years.
>t. NEET
Dilbert is an engineer, though, not IT.
The only thing that keeps Dilbert compelling is the ability to read it forwards and backwards and it making the same quality-level joke.
I think Adams is a douche but the comic is unironically GOAT.
I think you should kill yourself Dilbert
Acorn
why does everyone but Dil/Dogbert have a mouth? in the comics i mean
I don't think you should kill yourself dilbert.
i,m going to kill myself on friday #wow #whoa
No.
Casual Friday?
THEY HAVE A MOUTH IN SOME OF THE STRIPS AND EVEN THE CARTOON!
THE CARTOON WOULD BE CANCELED DUE TO THE JOKES AND SASS COMING FROM IT, AND HOW IT PREDICTED MANY OF NOWADAYS BULLCRAP ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT!
youtube.com
Ranch or Cool Ranch?
>when you know that there are many Catberts working on human resources and support...
this cartoon was so ahead of its time that it was ridiculous
Makes for an unusual, if tacky, structural detail of a house for one particularly empty and internally dead cartoonist.
The comic is still going strong, the animation is a mess that shouldn't exist.
Sometimes the mouth shows up.
I've just realized that Dilbert is grown up Bart Simpson.
Scott Adams is basically an elderly alt-righter at this point, so it isn't that surprising for him to buy into a meme that not even Ben "Kike Killing Kommando" Garrison wouldn't touch.
For extra bonus, have one of his more infamous takes: comicsalliance.com
>The reality is that women are treated differently by society for exactly the same reason that children and the mentally handicapped are treated differently. It's just easier this way for everyone. You don't argue with a four-year old about why he shouldn't eat candy for dinner. You don't punch a mentally handicapped guy even if he punches you first. And you don't argue when a women tells you she's only making 80 cents to your dollar. It's the path of least resistance. You save your energy for more important battles. -Scott Adams
>end up being right one time
>think you're some gigabrain super genius for all eternity
Unironically just assburgers
Dogbert is adorable
I feel exactly the opposite.
There is only so much you can squeeze into a daily strip format without something considerably larger than those strips he issues once a week.
DEHUMANIZE YOURSELF AND FACE TO BLOODSHED
I purchased his "The Joy of Work: Dilbert's Guide to Finding Happiness at the Expense of Your Co-Workers" at a time when I used to be oblivious about Scott Adams' personality as a whole. It is chock-full of amazingly bad horseshit with a dash of quirky writing.
Examples include:
>Your failures in the field of your own work don't reflect bad on you, as only the good information travels forth (this take had been made into an episode of Dilbert's animated cartoon, where Dilbert's feat of ruining most succesful engineering corp after being fired from his previous job by pointy-haired boss, made him the most sought-after candidate at his former workplace)
>Want to be an astronaut? Go for it, because manned space shuttles are fully automatized these days because NASA recognized human error as a threat to their resources!
>Want to become a key employee? Adopt a role of an accentric technological genuis! You don't need any improvement in technical skills, simply make yourself into an insufferable, unkempt douchebag with insatiable affinity for obsolete electronics.
>Imaginary conversation between Dogbert and Scott Adams' critic, Norman Solomon, where Dobgert ANNIHILATES that pesky commie with a power of arguments, such as: Solomon speaks against downsizing = Solomon embraces inefficiency = Solomon, to stay true to his convictions, needs to travel around by gluing flocks of hummingbirds to his body, because this is what a person in favor of inefficience would do.
why is he so fucking casual. where's the fucking tie.
I always just thought he was trying to make "relatable" humor so office workers who read Dilbert don't kill themselves. Never thought he actually took himself seriously.
>it''s a "The Boss says something uncharacteristically smart" episode
I don't really see that as taking himself seriously.
Alice doesn't sound nearly angry enough at any given moment, but otherwise I'll agree.
You don't round off your very own book with a fanfiction of your self-insert dunking on your detractors as a part of "laid-back" package.
For real. In the exact same chapter as he advises becoming a heart surgeon that only tries outrageous stuff that'll isn't expected to work anyway (like a human heart/artichoke transplant) or a nuclear missile engineer because your failures will only become obvious when it's too late to care.
None of it is serious.
People go out of their way to disparage Scott Adams. I think 80% of is comics fall flat on their faces, but making the author out to be some sort douchebag is just people wanting to be outraged.
>but making the author out to be some sort douchebag
Scott manages to pull that off all by himself, no help needed. There is a fucking reason he has noone in his life at his age despite being wealthy.
>cavorting with whores
>ever
Whatever you say, Elliott Rodger.
I'm starting to think you're that guy who has some sort of grudge against him that you were trying to push the "Scott Adams doesn't believe in evolution" thing until people on here pointed out that wasn't the case.
>implying that betafag didn't revolve his life around whores
He's a prime example of why you shouldn't care about women
>that you were trying to push the "Scott Adams doesn't believe in evolution" thing
What
What the fuck are you talking about?
>ahead of it's time
There have always been people like that in the corporate world.
I like how this strip doesn't have a punchline, but it manages to make you laugh 2.5 times.
That isn't being alt-right that's just being right.
>Dilbert turns 30 today
So it's a wizard now
>the punchline is that Wally has a lot in common with an NPC
what's wrong with that?
the animation is great retard, sadly it was doomed on a already dead channel.
in another timeline, Comedy Central got the rights and it lasted for 6 more seasons
A solid 3 is fine.
Thanks to "new and MODERN WORK SAFERY REGULATIONS" all workers should use casual clothing to cut costs with ties, ever since LOUD HOWARD almost lost his head when his tie got stuck into the Lexmark Printer
also we cut Millions in new work vestiment.
Scott Adams and James Woods being based were the best surprises of the 2016 election.
>The New York Times noted the dilberito "could have been designed only by a food technologist or by someone who eats lunch without much thought to taste."[5]
Kathy Griffin wasn't a screechy, obnoxious, furious enough cunt for you? What the hell standard did you set for Alice's voice? Gilbert Gottfried?
This is something that would come out of PHB's mouth
>youtube.com
She sounded kinda mellow most of the time. Not even close to the perpetually angry voice I used to imagine.
>Gilbert Gottfried?
Great now I have to go back and imagine Alice's lines done by Gilbert
He's not wrong.
Dear God no...
Every character in every literary medium is immediately improved if you imagine their dialogue as spoken by Gilbert Gottfried.
More like Dilbased and Bertpilled.
However you feel about Scott Adams no comic covers the bullshit of white collar like it. Dilbert even to this day still captures the feel 100%.
lots of offices dress down now. Dilbert and his coworkers all wearing long sleeved polos is actually a lot dressier than most of the places I've worked, you see plenty of people wearing jeans and some kind of plain shirt, and only ever dressing up on a day when like, clients are visiting
its funny, because it really hasn't fucking changed since that era. office worker bullshit is STILL office worker bullshit
Based
>Scott Adams is Alt-Right
>Here's my proof
>Scott Adams saying common sense things, attacking dumb aspects of feminism.
>Scott Adams saying nothing about race.
posts like there seem like false-flag posts, made by alt-right supporters. Trying to make people think that they agree with an extremist minority like the Alt-Right, just by having common sense opinions on gender stuff.
Or SJWs are just that crazy.
I can not tell you how sad I am when a Dilbert strip happens in my real life.
Scott Adams is a cuck
He seems anti-cuck to me.
>implying cuckedy central would allow a redpilled show
Based.
>For extra bonus, have one of his more infamous takes: comicsalliance.com
Ironically, this and some other articles around that time was the point where I started distrusting Comics Alliance a little. By 2012 or 2013 I think I trusted Scott Adams more than I trusted Comics Alliance.
amazing how this got past editorial. literally just a hack cartoonist phoning in a daily for an audience 40 years younger than him who don't even read newspapers.
I can't help but wonder if you're taking all of these statements out of context
>t. npc
>verbosely expounding on the old adage of "That's nice, honey."
based
That was too funny for its own good. I can't see Dilbert the animated series making it past 9/11.
All the Catberts are now in the tech and social media industry. HR is made by thots.
Scott Adams isn't sexist, he's just Catbert in real life
Hes just redpilled.
He's not stupid, he's pointy haired.
It's like how your grandma probably knows nothing about video games, but might cook an amazing pie.
Everything Pointy Head does in his day job to interact with Dilbert is your grandma trying to discuss video games.
based
>say he's alt-right
>back it up with out-of-context quote about how men don't want to start fights with women
Is Buzzfeed paying you to post here or something?
Based.
>DUDE, NOOSE LMAO
Don't reply to McDonalds employees; they will never be capable of appreciating the humor.
Sadly, Wally's Voiceactor died recently. And Howard Stern is retired.
also Kathy Griffin became a Nutso
Hi Scott Adams
>all this defense for an elderly nutter who may well be the embodiment of pic related
is scott adams here, right now?
>Gilbert Gottfried
>All this time just to reply "Hi (autor)"
truly this board is the epitome of sass and wit.
how about that pigskin?
choose lyfe son
a few years ago, the strip had the dress code change to polos and khakis. Adams said it reflected the current corporate culture more, and felt even more soulless.
I hate that. If you actually believe in a casual dress code, you commit to it
ORANGE MAN BAD
DRUMPF
>empty and internally dead
who hurt you, sweetie? did you take your SSRIs this morning?
Maybe if his lips weren't super-glued to PUTIN'S ASSHOLE he could write a decent book. I refuse to read them myself, but I believe they are HITLER'S VERY SHIT.
Orange fan mad
orange stan sad
rent free
Fuck off, Adams is the most politically neutral guy ever.
That makes him alt-right.
This, but unironically.
Post more strips
I got introduced to Dilbert/Scott Adams as a teen listening to The Way of the Weasel book on tape and laughing myself shitless, then finding the other books in a charity shop. In retrospect I feel like reading that stuff growing up is part of what made me into a bitter husk as an adult.
No, it was actually the same kind of wit back when that Comics Alliance article was originally published, so I think whoever's using the CA article as evidence here and other places, is probably someone connected to CA.
you either LICK MARX'S BALLS ALL DAY EVERY DAY or you're HITLER'S RANCID COCK
So tell the true makes you a "alt-rigth"?
Nah, he's got a kiwi farms thread because he manages to say incel-tier things about women, which pushes him into the alt-right camp.
Oh god. This is disturbingly relatable where I am.
>say something nice
The guy who wrote it used to just be disgruntled and not insane
Why do commies hate the guy who made a career making fun of how cold, kafkaesque and nonsensical the corporate world is?
>Kiwifarms thread
>Last post is in 2016
>Compared with people like Zoe Quinn or Milo or John K who still have their threads bumped
Not much to write home about.
Orange hen shin
Oh, well if he has a Kiwi Farms thread them he must be alt-right.
blog.dilbert.com
Yeah dude he's definitely got liberal views about women
You better explain what part of this you think is alt-right because I'm not seeing it.
How come people like Scott adams and Jim Davis never care about improving their art?
BASED
Because they're already extremely successful and people don't read them for the art.
Pointyhair did nothing wrong
Dilbert's humor comes from its writing and delivery. It's why the animated series was so good.
>STEM
>systems thinking
>GOP
But China is socialist and doesn't even treat people like people, just part of a system. GOPpers are the ones who "feel" that a little clump of cells in a woman's belly has a soul.
Reads like typical "I'm not demanding you be grateful, I'm just sayin'" softly seething incel men's rights bullshit.
>I don't go on dates.
What a shocker, Scott.
Women are objectively the worst gender. People only pretend otherwise because they're trying to get laid.
He doesn't need to go on dates. He's already in a relationship with someone.
He is not wrong.
Reminder Scott Addams is a trump worshiping fascist.
That blog post was from 2015. They didn't start dating until 2016.
Also, she's pretty hot for used goods.
Nah, he just respects Trump.
He literally made comics about how SJWs are big dumb meanies
sauce?
you havent seen Kristina have you?
God damn, Larry Miller killed it every time.
>/tg/ goofing off at work
It's not like he doesn't have prior form
It's not his fault you don't have self confidence.
Well, this thread is kinda shit (as Dilbert threads tend to be) so let's try and forget that its creator is a seething old fart who thinks banging a thot will make him less of a seething old fart, and remember the good times. A while back I posted as much of Dilbert from 1992... and it was really fucking mediocre. Adams was flailing around from some workplace humor to Dogbert doing wacky shit, but it rarely stuck the landing. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good. Later on, I posted a load of strips from 1994, and the difference was like night and day. Adams had really found his niche, and it showed.
Today, we're going to look at 1993, to see when exactly Adams started to make an actual effort. Will the transition from average to amazing happen immediately? Will I be called "crazy" again for posting Dilbert in a Dilbert thread? Only time will tell...
>salon.com
You can see the teething troubles the strip had just by looking at whatever the hell the logo is supposed to be. It's like something from those Super Mario cartoons... oh, and the fact that the joke isn't very good.

>>Scott Adams saying common sense things, attacking dumb aspects of feminism.
Yeaaaah I don't think even the most milquetoast first-wave feminist would agree with his premise that we should treat women differently because they're effectively mentally handicapped and unworthy of men's attention.
but we do as a society anyways
the political stance and reputation of a given publication is entirely relevant in a political discussion
As do the facts, which Salon gives in this article. For example, Adams admitting that he sockpuppeted and the bullshit excuse he gave.
So is he a wizard?
He's a Unitarian
...Isn't that just a stand up comedian?
Well, there's an insult comic like Don Rickels was, but that's more for roasts, because roasts aren't meant to be malicious.
I'd argue with you, but the only counter-examples I can think of are all terrible.
Unironic MUH RUSSIA. Goddamn kys
>insane
Everyone who doesn't vote for a Democrat should be locked in an insane asylum. I am rational.
What's wrong with the joke?
>You were born too late to get rich off of making shitty newspaper comics for boomers
>This one user going full assblast at Scott Adams
I wish every board had flags/IDs it would be so facinating what kind of mentally broken people do this.
Go to bed, Scott
I know you're mad user. Don't worry only 6 more years.
It's just all over the place. The punchline is pretty good, but the overall structure of the strip is kinda meh
Scott, either fuck off back to Twitter or go make some text adventure games
>Scott Adams
>Make auto-biographic comic about a near autist in an office

>Makes money off whoring his vision to whoever will pay for it
>Make dumb rants against whoever most recently rejected you
>Marry used goods with two children
>Somehow gets divorced
>Such a pussy endorsed Hillary because he was 'afraid of antifa thugs'
>Such a good influence his 'son' dies of an opioid overdoes
What a role model guys
I'm really glad 2016 happened it broke so many user's brains.
It's okay, Scott, I know you want to believe your son dying wasn't your fault. It kinda was, though.
So is it common to have a copy pasted Sunday header? I only ever read Calvin and Hobbes and Garfield and they always had unique headers.
>So is it common to have a copy pasted Sunday header?
It's not unheard of, and if memory serves I saw a few.
I'm pretty sure it's more likely to have copy-pasted headers
Of course, some comics make special panels for newspapers that want 9 panels instead of 8 or 6
At least his son didn't turn out a trannu like you.

Thanks for reminding me, I'm going to marathon this show tomorrow
It's depressing how true you discover Dilbert to be when you get an office job.
Reminder that Scott Adams made alts to prowl through his own forums and suck his own dick, literally telling random strangers that he was a "genius"
worse when you work for the government and there's always 5 to 10 wally's on each sector

They should - you can see Adams' writing style really starting to gel. I think he was starting to use reader suggestions more, and his comedic timing is a lot better.

If the information is reliable, there should be a second corroborating source. Single-source claims are dodgy and valid to criticise absent any vouching for quality.
The joke is hilarious but the last panel isn't necessary.
>In September 2015, Salon published an article written by Todd Nickerson, moderator of Virtuous Pedophiles, about his experiences with being a non-offending pedophile, titled: "I'm a pedophile, but not a monster."
Nice source you pedo.

No, I believe in the extrajudicial purging of pedophiles like you.
>publishing pedophiles means everything is invalid
Boy o' boy Medium is in shambles
Under any civilized law, you can't kill or even arrest people for simply having a mental illness. You just want a power fantasy.
>You just want a power fantasy
Yeah, took you that long to figure out that most of the white far right are just insecure faggots with no power to do anything in their lives and require a fantasy reality in which posting is a virtuous cause?
I think it's a good rule of thumb that people who are generally happy with how things are in their lives don't join causes based on anger or with a heavy anger component.
I remember that. They had to delete the article.
>t. chopped his dick off because he thinks it'll make him a girl
Fucking brilliant.
if we have no power, doesn't that tear down everything the opposition has said and justified their actions with?
