Sorry user, but THIS is the real catchy song
youtube.com
future emmet trying to kill past emmet would also kill future emmet. He didn't think that through
It's an unrealistic expectatiooon
barely any promotion
It was fun. I finally saw it the other night. I wasn't interested before because I let Yea Forums meme me into thinking it was about toxic masculinity, when that couldn't be further from the truth in actuality
It truly was, a catchy song.
best girl
I saw absolutely no advertising for it. I didn't know it was even coming out until it already had.
WB oversaturated the market. Lego Batman and Lego Ninjago came out in the same year; the latter being a critical and commercial failure.
Basically this, I feel that the Ninjago one shouldn't have been made at all.
It seemed like a cheap sequel.
I think many people got the impression that it was going to be a boys vs girls movie from the first trailer or something?
Not much promotion.
>low expectations/brand fatigue due to the previous Ninjago movie being shit
>musical and almost all the songs are poppy trash
>boy vs. girl theme that isn't necessarily integral to Lego as a toyline, swap the Lego universe the characters live in with Playmobile or Funko and it still works
>all the references are WB pop culture as opposed to old Lego themes like the 1st movie did
>Batman had way too much importance in this film
>was less diversity in environments, we get Apocalypeburg and the Sistar System while movie #1 had Western, Bricksburg, Cuckooland, and snippets of Castle, Pirates, etc. plus more
>this movie felt more aimed towards kids than the first, which had smarter jokes and a moral that could be directly tied to adult collectors as well as children, instead we get funny banana and sibling quarrels
>too much live action
>controversy about the film being another feminist mouthpiece because of the RGB cameo, which didn't even amount to anything but still gave some people a bad impression on where the movie was headed
I still enjoyed it but this one felt less like a love letter to Lego and more of WB using the Lego Movie franchise to shoehorn a bunch of their IPs for no fucking reason other than "'member Die Hard? 'member Wizard of Oz? 'member Bill and Ted?" That and the story was cliched, the twist is confusing, and the new characters outside Rex have little to no development at all. Rex wants to ensure Emmet becomes him but then is pissed Emmet wants to save his friends so why even save Emmet in the first place? Why not let him get hit by the meteor and just immediately go to the Sistar System and get revenge on his former friends? Everything is Awesome had deeper meaning to the lyrics. They forshadowed Lord Business's plans to ensure perfect harmony and Kragle the world in place. Catchy Song sounded like it was a brainwashing tune, and then it wasn't? So the deeper meaning behind the song is lost. Overall it was good, but not great like the 1st
>muh lego fatigue
This attitude is why we never got an Ignition Trilogy you cunts.
It was basically the movie that people feared the first one would end up be - an overly long cashgrab/commercial to sell toys and the amount of "this only exists to sell the physical version" scenes was a lot higher than in the first movie with the one where the party bus opens up being the most notable one.
i seriously didn't even know this hit and left theaters 2 months ago until 2 nights ago, i was awe struck by this because of how huge the first one was in 2014
Reminder that Brick-Chick was the true Waifu.
>This had the same budget as Shazam
Is there a reason why the budget was so much larger than the first film
