Why do so many people give Zipher a ton of shit even though nothing was ever his fault, and he actually tried to get past his shit and better himself? Do people just not understand the entire point of his character or what his progression was?

The simple answer is speedreaders.

It honestly is. I just can't understand why people say he's unsympathetic, or undeserving of happiness. He works incredibly hard to better himself, and stops acting so selfish and returns that by acting extremely selfless. Literally risks his life multiple times for a village full of people that mostly hate him.

Attached: 1526447491130.jpg (718x280, 118K)

What's this?

what is this?

Pandemonium Wizard Village.
It's a really great read, everyone should check it out. It's only 12 chapters long, so you can get through it in an afternoon.

Attached: 1545789824642.jpg (1162x789, 1.38M)

What is it about?

A cat man named Zipher carrying a coffin on his back travels to the so-called Wizard Village, which is home to a group of people called variants, which are essentially mutants in that world born with a variety of defects and handicaps, in hopes of bringing someone from the dead back to life. There, he meets a variant woman named Domika, who takes care of him, and helps him get a glimpse of just how hard life is out in the Variant Village. I really suck at explaining things though and can't do it justice without spoiling a ton of it outright.

Alright, I might check that out

This probably explains it better than I can

Yeah, yeah, I know. >tvtropes

Speedreaders may hate Zipher, but anyone can hate Cosith. One fucking punch and he goes down to a guy that forgets gravity is a thing.

Attached: pandemonium_wizard_village_chapter10_p32.jpg (900x1273, 1.31M)

Cosith's a (literal) massive jobber, so that's not a surprise. He completely fails at harming anyone, despite literally stomping some people flat. The only redeeming factor about him is his cute as hell daughter.

Attached: 1533454408069.jpg (1000x1428, 101K)

Even though i'm glad Molte didn't die her death would have made the ending more emotionally powerful.

they had his girl

It might have been, but then I don't think that Zipher would have gotten his happy ending the way he did. Sho has gone on record saying that he considers Pandemonium to be a love story, and that would have probably gotten in the way of it. At the very least, Molte learns to value life and ended up accepting Zipher as her adopted dad. Plus she's cute, too.

Both Poppy and Pandemonium (although to a lesser extent) were pretty popular on Yea Forums back in 2013-2014 from what I recall. Just a shame that Yea Forums seems to have forgotten about Pandemonium.

>Both Poppy and Pandemonium (although to a lesser extent) were pretty popular on Yea Forums back in 2013-2014 from what I recall.
I remember poppy threads way back when, but I've only heard of pandemonium from looking around on recommendation threads

Attached: el goblino.jpg (727x792, 85K)

I can't check because of the old archives being gone, but I'm pretty sure Pandemonium was a runner up for best webcomic on Yea Forums that year. I story time'd it on Yea Forums before, but that quite literally took up my entire day, so I don't know if I'd do something like that again.

Attached: 1547122657198.jpg (1280x868, 1.34M)

I still feel the pricks of pain when I think about Poppy being dropped.

It was so refreshing, both in aesthetics and plot.

Isn't Morbi talking about remaking it or something? I honestly haven't kept up on what's currently being done with it at all.

>Isn't Morbi talking about remaking it or something?
Don't believe his lies.

Attached: Possum tells it like it is.png (882x842, 634K)

Personally I just don't see what the point of that would be. It's weird to drop a story midway and then talk about redoing stuff from years ago. I heard he also just made it so he'd only draw one page and then just add a script to it.

Attached: 1552194154608.jpg (700x875, 693K)

that guy can't do anything, just let poppy go.

True

Attached: 4-April_2018.jpg (1000x1436, 717K)

This is technically Yea Forums isn't it?

I love her

Attached: 1552818181687.jpg (727x1023, 173K)

no because the creator of this manga and morbi are butt buddies so now it's Yea Forums by proxy.

Pandemonium is in western comic format and Yea Forums has never had trouble talking about it in the past. The author's new work, Dakini, is more Yea Forums, but Yea Forums is fucking horrible and has godawful taste and doesn't ever talk about either for whatever reason.

don't they love their lolis?

Attached: 1548544514285.png (1500x1500, 238K)

Anytime Sho comes up there, they're obsessed with bitching about how he put an end to the fan translation of Dakini in favor of making an official one, because how DARE he expect people to support an official release that he helped organize?

>Goes out of his way to produce an official English translation, something he didn't actually have to do
>The only reason to bitch and complain about it now is that it's not free
Yea Forums never actually cared about it in the first place, it just became an easy shitposting target for them because;
>Anthro characters
>Piracy related drama
>Author wanting to actually be paid for their hard work
They're all just a bunch of fucking assholes that only pretend to give a shit about stuff but they don't actually care. They can't be bothered to actually keep up with things, whenever they see it they make some reactionary comment about "Remember this time" when that shit was literally like two years ago at this point.

What killed poppy? Wasn’t morbi’s patreon successful ?

He's also a lazy piece of shit that doesn't deliver on time. The last Poppy update was in NOVEMBER.

They banned Yotsuba for awhile, dunno if they still do

it's not anymore, from what i can see.
however the biggest setback of dakini is no consistent update schedule. but i don't know what it would take for that to be fixed...

Attached: fireworks.png (347x284, 136K)

Yeah, that definitely doesn't help, although it not being licensed is probably one of the problems. Currently Sho is just doing it because he's passionate about it, and the guy takes on a really big workload despite it only ever being him. He doesn't have any editors or nothing, so he's the one always doing the work. It can definitely get rather unbearable waiting for the next chapter at times, and the inconsistency makes it even worse. In 2017 he got out six chapters in half a year, and in 2018, he only managed to get three out. Granted those chapters were drawn really well, but it definitely doesn't help maintain reader attention when there's such large gaps in between chapters.

what's this guy from?

>name of the series in on the picture in English too
same artist and semi sequel to the comic this thread was talking about

Flower Knight Dakini, which is a sequel to Pandemonium Wizard Village. Set in the same universe two years after Pandemonium's epilogue and focuses on an entirely different cast of characters, with some old ones returning here and there. It focuses on Eiden, the dog you're seeing posted, who's an artist that lost his passion for art after the town he was attending art school in got destroyed by Sky Golems. He comes across a small black fox girl named Dakini; a mute warrior who has the capability to destroy Sky Golems, as well as a variety of other powers. They travel together, going from town to town in hopes of bringing an end to the menace of the Golems, but are met with obstacles at every turn.

There are only 10 chapters currently, but it's definitely got me hooked.

>Just a shame that Yea Forums seems to have forgotten about Pandemonium.

It is not that /co forgot about Pandemonium, it is that the board is filled to the brim with newfags from /pol/ and Yea Forums

I mean, Yea Forums's the same board that shunned Space Dandy for literally no reason as it was airing just because it aired in the West first on Toonami, and that apparently made it Yea Forums related only. Fucking idiots.

That is also unfortunately true. I feel like the same can be said about a bunch of other boards. Newfags just keep on coming in from multiple places.

I would be lying if I say that Kayoh wasn't the reason why I've got myself interested in reading Pandemonium. Yet I fully enjoyed the art and the story, despite of her having just a minor role and the final chapter being a bit rushed.
Also I'm glad there was a happy ending.

But I've yet to see evidence when his twitter's so active of video game rambling.

Attached: 1532979449384.jpg (900x1273, 1.25M)

He may not have killed Molte, but he surely thinks he actually did. Poor guy also seems to suffer some fucked up PTSD after the events from his hometown, as it was shown in the photography book that Eiden found.

I genuinely do feel bad for Crain, as well as a lot of characters in the Pandemonium-verse. Anyone would suffer from shit like PTSD if they bore witness to watching their town and their lives ripped away right in front of them. We know just how much it affected Zipher and Eiden, but we know nothing more about Crain and what his reaction had been.

Also critique Crain's art.

Attached: Crain's art.png (818x1471, 1.13M)

So basically fireworks off and dog dude has a PTSD attack that turns the book's pages into traumatizing stuff?
That's a pretty interesting visual device.

No, Eiden's completely fine when he sees the pictures of fireworks, but when he sees Knight "Spot a dame, she's fair game" Crain's art that he drew of the guy with the straight thunder through him and the hand, he gets a flashback to something and starts having a panic attack. So far he's only had one PTSD moment, and that was in Chapter 3. Thunderstorms seem to be his trigger.

Bump

So since we've got some people who hadn't heard of Dakini before, but Tsunousagi is also part of the same universe. It's about a bunny kid with a beetle horn called Jacka that pretends to be a superhero.

The mouse guy that showed up in chapter 5 of Pandemonium, his name's Beatha and he's from there, and the epilogue even takes place in the same town.

Attached: DvA2S8hUYAAp5rA.jpg (1004x1200, 198K)

I don't know just how canon the stuff in the concept stuff is, but apparently he's also met Zipher. I assume that Tsunousagi takes place a little bit before (or maybe even during) the events of Pandemonium and then leads into it. Beatha sure seems to be able to handle himself though, considering he beat some of Crain's men by himself. I wonder if he'd be Knight certified as well.

Yup.

it's a shame the kickstarter this time didn't have a sketch tier. I like sho and all but not enough to spend $300 on a picture

Attached: sketch.jpg (2380x3138, 1.64M)

Considering just how much work it was on him the last time, I'm really not surprised that he settled on only doing 5 (which he later opened up to 10) commissions. With any luck, this'll make the translations go a bit smoother this time around. He just put out chapter 10, so the only things that need doing right now are finishing up this month's donation pic, the colored commissions, and working on the translation. Although I honestly wish he'd hire someone else to do the typesetting.

yeah the fixing up the typesetting and just smoothing out the translations a bit would help a lot

I've said it before and I'll say it again; All it would take for Sho to fix up the typesetting if someone took the time to actually tweet at him suggesting what to change and how to do it. Sho's the one doing the typesetting, so obviously he wouldn't understand why because he's Japanese.
