Atlantis:The Lost Empire

What did Yea Forums think of this movie? I love it.
Why isn't Disney doing a live action remake of it? This would work really good in live action compared to their other remakes. If they did do a live action remake, who would you cast?

Why does this movie remind me of Stargate so much?

Cool setting, pretty good plot, fantastic cast of characters and designs as a whole.
Shame it didn't do so well on sales/reception, which is most likely why they won't adapt it into live action despite being one of the best, if not THE best, movies to adapt into live action (in therms of it actually working instead of being either a lamer version of the original like aladdin remake or straight-up trash like the lion king remake).
I mean come on, they could just put del toro as director and after that the only major difficulty for the movie would be casting the actors (which would worry me, given how some of the casting choices in aladdin were).

One of Disney's best and should have been the standard for the direction Disney went Post-Renaissance.

Despite the absolutely fantastic end product it was the opposite direction Disney wanted to go. While it was cool to see people dying instead of singing songs, the merchandise just wasn't there despite the huge potential for cool stuff to have been made it frankly wasn't.

The real shame is other than the huge hit of Lilo and Stitch they fell flat on their face for many years and movies and giving up in 2D entirely.

This

They plan to do a Stitch live action movie....and fucking Black Couldron. Maybe there is hope but the question is...would it be good or bad? I mean, the cast of Atlantis is already diverse as fuck.

I want to fuck the blonde one

>Why isn't Disney doing a live action remake of it?
Making Atlantis into a live action film would be crazy expensive to do well, and the film doing poorly the first time around is probably taken as evidence it isn't worth the risk.
Also steampunk/diselpunk films have a long track record of flopping, which is probably another mark against remaking it.

It's mostly because normies are literal retards. Fuck Marvel and Star Wars
It's funny that WB took the risk with FUCKING AQUAMAN ON A 200 MILLION $ BUDGET
ON FUCKING AQUAMAN
THE GUY THAT TALKS TO FISH

For a business perspective 200 mil on Aquaman still makes more sense than 200 mil on a live action Atlantis. Multiple superhero movies make bank every year. On the other hand the last alt-tech adventure movie to come out was mortal engines, and we all know how that went.

Mortal Engines barely had any advertising and it was doomed from the start.

Kida is 10/10

Nerd white guy falls in love with black chick trope?

Is Kida black?

Why isn't Kida a Disney Princess?

Liked it, however many elements were taken from Nadia which was released before this: imgur.com/gallery/ytmAW

Probably.

>Milo is Daniel Jackson
>the big black dude
>eyebrow raise oneil

I mean that's just the poster, but the whole 'journey into a new realm' thing is pretty stargate except replace egypt aliens with basically alien atlanteans. and y'know, stargate did a whole spinoff called Atlantis, might help.

Nah, they both just ripped off the same material: Jules Verne and Edgar Cayce.

This,Atlantis and TLE did it better than Nadia

What was with the sequel? It set up a third film?

It was cobbled together from episodes of a show they were working on.

It's kino.

Makes sense,it felt like a mess. Kida was cute though.
