Too many SF stories to list, but I'll namedrop The Atomic Knights.

Novels? Sure. Movies? A few, but they became way more of a thing in the 70s. Comics? Aside from a few stories in anthology titles and The Atomic Knights (thank you for reminding me of them), not so much.

Besides, this was in a SUPERMAN comic. At this time, he was more about wacky transformations and trying to make sure he didn't marry Lois. Not that I'm ragging on those too hard, but this was a real swerve for DC at the time.

Russ Manning was one of the greatest comic artists ever. Clean work; no ridiculous musculature or millions of unnecessary hatch-lines.

"The Aliens" was a well done back-up feature. With a tip of the hat to Murray Leinster. Started to get weird though after they reached Earth and threw "fake" Venusians into the stewpot. Then Manning left Gold Key, Magnus was discontinued, and I'll never know how the story came out.

dunno, while the kryptonite is a plot hole, it's rare to see the plot being actually straight, the villains plan worked, and supes didn't fake his defeat, and actually had to work his way out of it.
