This show was never good, how did it get so popular and well liked?

The first two seasons were actually fun, while season 3 was meh...and the fourth is flanderization hell

I thought the show was pretty okay during Season 1 and 2, it had potential. But it definitely had problems that would plague the show for the rest of the series.

and this is a problem with both Earth and Mewni. Nobody have a shit about Ferguson, Alfonso and Jeremy and nobody gives a shit about Pony Head, her family, several background mewmans or Sean.

Dead Wrong that stated first with "Sailor Moon" and "Pokémon" back in the day and became re-popular with shows like my little pony and Steven Universes and currently the Loud House dew to the fact younger people are on the internet now it's no longer a teenager/adult thing.

I blame the hiatuses and the writers playing fast and loose with the plotlines.
It was mostly fine with the magical fish out of water stuff, but it seemed to really suffer once they started ramping things up.

Speaking purely for myself I got invested in side characters and thought the shit parts were tolerable enough to keep watching.

Worst part is Star Vs is probably one of the better cartoons to come out in recent memory.

Star vs was pretty good for a cartoon in s2, there was hope and promise of better things to come as the plot and everything had been on an upwards curve, hype was high. But then it went to shit.

star was good until season 4, too much ponyhead, too much "monster good, mewman bad", star being more emotionally manipulative, and the writing crew being replaced by retards

Truth. Nefcy has admitted sailor Moon is an influence. I think that's why I enjoy it. I liked Sailor Moon when it was on Toonami and Star hits a lot of the same notes.

How so? Marco is less of a boring piece of cardboard, Star is attempting to be more mature and still a fucking idiot, Moon and Eclipsa have their own personalities and motivations and the rest of the characters never had any personality whatsoever. Plus, they were always retarded as fuck.

If anything, the problem with S4 is that it leaves a lot of plot points in the air, abandons all the cute SoL that made S1 and S2 great, takes itself too seriously and has a lot of unnecessary shipping drama; but flanderization? I don't think so.

Star, Cuckquean of Mewni was the highlight of the show.
