Is SU doomed to have the same fate as Adventure Time?

Is SU doomed to have the same fate as Adventure Time?

New episodes dumped by CN in ungodly timeslots with increasingly less fanfare.

Ratings crater more and more until the big finale gets lower ratings than filler episodes got at its prime.

When it's all over, it's quickly forgotten and becomes nothing more than a distant memory.

>Is SU doomed to have the same fate as Adventure Time?
Do writers HATE Steven?

Here's to hoping that happens

Probably a few of them

We're kind of already seeing that. Change Your Mind got lower ratings than townie episodes got two years ago.

You're acting like that's not already happening. SU's entire existence is one massive hiatus with bursts of an episode here or there. There's so little of it that when it's gone people will not even feel anything, because they hardly get any at all. capeshit movies can crank out so many decent movies per year but more than 15 episodes of SU with subpar animation is too troubling for the crewniverse.

I'm pretty sure there's someone high up at CN who hates the show and already does that.
Its why its always on hiatus, why it gets the stupid stevenbomb format instead of a normal airing schedule, they are desperate to kill this show but it just wont die.

Every show on CN gets lower ratings than two years ago, but nice try.

>It's another "Yea Forums pretends it knows how animation works" episode

To be fare Warner Bros just took over CN and is replacing the Tumblr shows with Looney Tunes and 1957-1963 Hanna Barbera in it's place.

And unless Adult Swim starts airing a legit late night talk show (I.E not Space Ghost) to replace the Fox shows it's going to be either CN or AS that get the ax.

That's just CN on the whole nowadays. SU tends to get either the highest or second highest viewership counts on the network lately, CN is just that fucking dead.

The show would be better if they did.

When is the show ending?

Steven is Rebbeca's way of letting out her incestuous feelings for her little brother, so I guess no.

No

But all those other shows can be rerun. And CN makes money off the ads on those reruns. Why do you think TTG is still their biggest show?

Can't happen soon enough

Steven Universe is a moneyspinner in other ways otherwise it wouldn't be getting more episodes and merchandise. If TTG is popular with little kids and pre-teens, SU caters to the demographics above that.

>>SU caters to every demographic except for CN's actual target demographic.

Oh, I'm sure they love that. Also, receipts for SU merch being anything except shelfwarmers.

>SU caters to the demographics above that.
so it caters to the autistic?

Not really. Steven Universe has a coherent plot and fewer mindscrews than AT.

desu SU kinda deserves it, it's been on a downhill trajectory since season 2, at least Adventure Time had 3 - 5 good seasons before starting to decay

damn user, you didn't need to kill him like your newborn son

More on this? I knew AS always had trouble syndicating shows from other networks, but what does CN have to do with it (aside from tanking ratings)?

He never really shows any attraction to females like Finn did so he doesn't get tortured by the writers.

Eh, you're not looking at the bigger picture. While CYM did indeed get ratings on par with non-event SU episodes (989k viewers, to be exact), CN's ratings in general have declined HARD over the last year or two. In fact, the last TTG episode to get ratings higher than that was in March 2018 ("Flashback", 1.184m viewers). So for bombs and event eps, SU still does better than most CN shows.

The latest TTG ratings. Let these numbers speak for themselves.

And SU'S for comparisons sake.

She's planning on adding a character that represents her estranged son Michael

Stop

The series is already over, only thing left is the movie and it isn't coming until next year.

Does children legitimately love Steven Universe, or does it's periphery demographic is the only thing keeping it alive? As there been any study on it?

>movie
i have to guess it's a giant boring ass townie episode

I've come to the point where I've stopped blaming CN for what they did. The SU crew had a hand in it's downfall production and ratings wise.
If they were able to get accurate numbers for children watching I'd imagine they were incredibly low.

The series isn't over, the movie is out this year and there's a sixth season.

Why guess? A teaser's been out for over a year youtube.com/watch?v=TlmfPB20Ln4

>Is SU doomed to have the same fate as Adventure Time?
Of having been shit from the start? I daresay it is.

considering Suger's methods were part of ruining AT, I'd say the game was rigged from the start

You are not comparing apples to apples.
One show's (TTG) ratings are during it's normal scheduled season. And those aren't bad numbers.
The other is in it's finale season leading up to a big event. Your screen shot cut off the point where the ratings go from a terrible .1 streak then spikes to .6 after the announcing of the big event special which most people didn't know was a finale.
Wikipedia is a bad source for ratings as well. While some will use one of the more accurate sites like tvbythenumbers others will janky random sites as sources or in one instance a fan site.
But my point still stands it's a bad comparison you're trying to draw.

Comparing an episodic comedy like TTG to an overarching story-driven show like SU is retarded no matter how you look at it. Even when you look at non-finale or special episode they constantly swapped between the first and second most-watched shows on CN. I don't understand why people even bother to compare those ratings beyond measuring each other's dick size, because they're entirely different shows.

>SU
>Adventure Time
>"doomed"
Not the garbage! My precious garbage!!

The ratings come from showbuzz and are completely accurate.I was more dispelling the notion that SU is some failing media when the opposite is true no matter how it's spun. Whether CN aired it weekly or monthly, it would always be in the top 3 of shows on the network even after the entire slate went to shit ratings-wise.

Nice meme

It was the second highest trending topic on the biggest social media platform when it aired. Television as a whole is dying. Ratings are no longer a reliable way to judge a show's success

Yes, and rightfully fucking so!

su nerd here, do fucking research me amigo.

>the truth is a meme

That may be true, but TTG's viewership has been slipping since late 2017- not because it's popular, but it's all that's on. There's been no news about a 6th season of TTG since the post-movie teaser (which did worse than Lego Movie 2 despite opening in more theaters), and SU has been in yet another hiatus for quite some time. Who knows what's gonna happen for both?

Su IS the new AT, so yes

Your entire post would imply that there was some point where SU wasnt complete garbage.

I found the screen cap on KYM

also, SU is barely hanging on, I want more, but at the same time I want it to just fucking live

It happens to every good CN property. It's sad but it's better this way.
