Soft-implying Mina is the final villain of the series, making Mina's death off-screen redundant.

Soft-implying Solaria's / Eclipsa's instant-death spell that was used on Toffee is going to be important to the end of the story, immediately contradicting the statement in the previously-paired episode that there's "powerful magic" and it's soft-implied to be coming from Meteora.

It's all so tiresome seeing the show not care about itself.

Mina is apparently going to be the final villain, Marco is actually a bad ass, Higgs died and sondidnthe other squires from last season.

It could be that Star just drummed up some replicas while Mina is putting together the genuine article. Magical armor that led the monster massacre.

He's not prioritizing anything. He just realized he can't spend his whole life on mewni. He's clearly in no rush to return to earth he just accepts that it's gonna have to happen one day.

My complaint is that the show is using "OLD THINGS BAD" because Mina is using ancient Mewman tech to fight against the "evil progressives". It's coded propaganda that's so in-your-face about it that it has me depressed. We get it. Seth and Toffee are bad because they live in the past and perpetually hold grudges. Solaria and Mina are bad because they will always think monsters are evil and can never change. The message has been delivered. You can stop harping on it.

Except, no, they can't, because whereas there was excellent subtlety in the show's first two seasons, the writing for the second half has been about as discrete as a screaming mime.

Also why create the other spells for their purpose to protect the other queens from her own spell? And what is that hall it keeps flying into? It looks like it belongs to Festivia.

The first time they dated they were both 13. I wouldn't be surprised if Tom didn't even make it to 1st base before they broke up.

This time around...from everything we've seen that kiss in Lava Lake Beach is as far as it's ever gone. Something that Tom was frustrated by in Monster Bash, with his failed attempted get Star to ditch the party and "cuddle" in a closet. And Star not only spends far more time with Marco than she does with Tom, she spends more time with Eclipsa than she does with Tom. So no, there's no chance that Tom has ever scored.

It's not that she's using "old" stuff. It's that Mina is using the Solarian magic. She's trying to make more super-soldiers like herself, except that Mina herself shows that the Solarian process drives the soldiers insane.

The frustrating thing is the inconsistency in episodes. When the show needs the citizens to be brain-dead peasants without indoor plumbing they're written that way. When the show needs everyone to have access to inter-dimensional live streaming communications they're written that way. We revert back and forth which makes any progress meaningless because it can shift at a momen't notice. Because the writers are bad, the director is bad and the creator is bad. It's frustrating seeing how far this show has fallen and how it's writhing around trying to have a deeper meaning and message that it never set out to have and could never earn with staff whose ability is this limited. The only vindication is that the viewership collapsed after BonBon and continued to bottom out. But nothing will be learned from this because the"woke" director and quirky creator got what they wanted, show quality be damned.

Given how nobody treated Star being a magical princess from another dimension as if it were a big deal, probably he'll tell the truth and say he was on another planet. Hell, it'll probably get counted as a work-study program.

And if he still graduates on time (high school is fucking easy if you're smart, and Marco was a straight-A student) then it's not like colleges will have a problem with it.

This is part of why the show was better off with Earth as the main setting. When Mewni was just a place to visit occasionally, it didn't need to be fleshed out that much and most of the inconsistencies wouldn't even be noticed.

I like how at least they didn't make Janna a bad friend. IOW she didn't take her time with Tom as an excuse to hit on the guy. She actually respected their relationship like a decent person.
This show has really lowered my standards for what a 'good' person is, since I wholly expect every "guy and girl in a room together" moment to end in some ship building regardless of their friend loyalties etc.

But I thank Nefcy for this still-lasting TomStar relationship and I hope it actually is endgame. I've just been pretty much waiting since the episode it began for it to fall apart for some meaningless reason, and literally every episode with them still together has been a shock.

It had no plot. The only moment where i loved where the first seconds of it. We janna looked around clearly bored/annoyed.
Can you tell me what the plot was? what reveal was interesting in the end? What does it say about the whole threat? NOTHING
I went into this episode because i wanted 11 minutes of Janna and tom having adventures together. Why even name it Junking Janna? Why not Eclipsa and Star waiting for an interview while Janna hunts a boot for 3 minutes screentime

I don't mind TomStar, but I feel Tom was supposed to learn something this episode but the writer was not able to pull it off completely.

The episode was about him having fun without Star around, yet spent the whole time complaining and texting. I feel like having the phone being destroyed before, in order to force Tom to interact, would have been a better idea.

The armor Mina is rebuilding is the Armor that was featured way back in like season 1 or 2. It was magic armor Mewmans or I guess Solarian Project candidates piloted to kill and relocate Monsters. You even see some of them used in the Mewni founding re-enactment that Star has them put on.

Out of today's bunch I think my favourite was the one inside the wand.
I like how every queen has a room for her spells (Meteora already has one, so she is most likely the source of ancient magic Heekapoo detected) and Eclipsa's spells going full comando against the one with no name left room for a bunch of theories about how dangerous it really is.

At the start of season 3, when Marco goes back to Earth and Star stays on Mewni, and they inexplicably don't use dimensional scissors to visit each other or even call or text each other AT ALL for several months, until Marco decides to go to Mewni and drops in unannounced.

This happened for no other reason than "the writers said so", and they did it because it was the only way they could think of to introduce a new love triangle. Jarco couldn't have survived even as long as it did if Marco was still constantly going off to be with Star, and once Jarco ended Star would've never been in the "Marco will never love me like I love him, I need to try to move on" frame of mind that allowed her to get back with Tom.

There is no grand plan.

The sliding scale of continuity went from semi-soft to super-soft. What you see is what you get. There is the overarching plot of Mina and Globgor, but that is it, anything else doesn't really matter. If you think it does, you'll bring nothing but disappointment upon yourself.

There are no foreshadowing, only throwaway jokes. There is no hidden meaning just whatever the acting writer for the episode brainstormed the week before production started. There is no hard character development, just a dimension the character acts on, maybe a dimension and a half if the episode calls for some aesop.

I know you wanted this to be a show that makes full use of the setting and cast, but it simply doesn't. Again, sorry.
