even if he somehow managed to batgod his way to usurping the position without bloodshed, as long as the deposed leader is still alive, they're still a figurehead for people to rally under. a civil war within the league would be inevitable, and the collateral damage would be astronomical.

I was just catching up with what i missed ( stopped reading batman in the middle of death of the family), does anyone else got tired of all this bullshit happening lately, al these armageddon plot points? endgame was trash, don't know why anyone tought that would be a good ending to the joker/batman rivalry.
Metal is something weird but its has its cool parts, and now we get doomsday clock, i just want my batman to be a street level hero who defends gotham i don't want him fighting off world ending stuff, at least not every 3 days.

It's okay to damage Batman, since as a character he's so fucking damaged as it is that you can just ignore storiea you don't like and pretend they never happened. Hell, some of the best, most celebrated Batman stories don't even happen in the main canon or were retroactively added to it later because they were so popular.

Superman on the other hand, is an ideal. And Benis is fucking with that ideal.
