Who's the qt asian?
>our paths divulged
Incubus did nothing wrong
Meti is literally Diogenes with tits.
Seems like she will never learn. The first apprentice
most likely did everything the master ever dreamed about.
DIVERGED, not divulged Abbadon!
Man I feel like it's been forever since we've gotten a page so it's lost alot of the momentum we had going.
She knows. She still hates him. Though not as much as she hates the path of cutting.
Did abbadon just recon Meti's death?
Never got the impression that Maya felt any sort of affection for Meti. Thought she hated her, in fact.
Nah, all that was said was that she went of and died in a big battle. I wouldn’t be surprised if she went to fight the Sword Army and lost to Incubus in a duel.
>Close but hates him
I still think they some how where an item when she/both had the keys and then split because she hated power
>Killed Meti and fed her to the dogs
She totally pulled a Obi Wan and Maya didn't understand.
Well that or she just got tired of living, Maya’s family noodle shop probably closed or something.
Daily remember, user, she is a creature of the abysm and in time, she will return to it.
At least Chio will remain.
I am so glad it's back, I've missed it.
I thought Maya was Meti's ONLY student.
You're right, that makes a good amount of sense and fits with the lore.
All this must mean Maya didn't know Meti's death was of her own choice, why else would she hate Incubus for killing her?
I've seen her called Monkey
Lot of disciples learning from legendary masters then killing them lately. Must be trendy in heaven.
>"My student once asked me what should be done about my body when I was inevitably torn apart by my enemies. My answer was simple: feed it to the dogs outside the walls of the city. *She* was horrified, of course, and protested loudly. 'Alright then,' I said, 'Give me a stick to beat the dogs so they won't bother me'. 'But master,' said my idiot student, 'You will be insensate.''Well if I'm insensate then why do you give a flying fuck what happens to my corpse?' I said, settling the matter."
She knew but didn't agree.
Also young Maya a cute, shouldn't have let herself go.
>shouldn't have let herself go
user I don't think she gives even a single fuck what you think.
That way of honoring his master wishes makes me think that Incubus really respected, or even liked Meti. Maya hated her, or at least had a rocky relationship with her, so of course she wouldn't accept Meti's wish of death.
>I don't think she gives even a single fuck
That's why she's not the first student..
I don't think the first student gives a fuck what you think either.
He gives all kinds of fuck, that's why he is the first student.
I think it's a recurring theme that Maya never listens to Meti, but at the same time the comic is subtly hinting that Meti is wrong. Most notably her advice to Maya as a young girl, if followed, would have resulted in her death only a few years later, and likely a horrible death too.
Perhaps it was HOW Incubus killed her. Maybe he poisoned her fish heads or something.
Well Meti knows the alternative path inside out and still thinks it's full of shit so perhaps dying a noodle vendor may be great.
>Die with your family after living relatively well
>Live to see everything and everyone you knew and loved destroyed or twisted beyond recognition while also knowing the same is happening to you as you spill oceans of blood just to survive, too strong to die no matter how much you want to
>being a swordsman and dying fighting is for chumps
>slowly starving to death and being brutally murdered by soldiers you can't defend against?
>now that's money
>"He killed my Master and fed her torn body to the dogs."
So basically he did what she wanted him to do and gave her the death she always wanted?
True, but at the same time it's given us more time to actually acclimate what we've seen so far.
We knew she had two students for a while.
Doubt not the Destroyer.
Of the five things she tells Maya to do, four of them would be impossible due to the impending war and the fifth is debatable.
That's the only time Meti has brought the halo out so far, she is serious. It's already 33 S.C according to the alt text on the next page and even the conclusion of that war didn't lead to depopulation of humans.
It's not like Meti knew, or for that matter gave a fuck, about any war that was brewing. Even if she did dying after having a brief moment of happiness is better than ending up like Meti, at least in her own eyes.
You've got to remember, Meti looked back at her life and accomplishments and only saw a waste. She was a master of Cutting, but in the end all that brought her was corpses. By comparison being a noodle vendor, grabbing a husband/wife, banging the shit out of them and being happy with a family for even a few years seems much more fulfilling.
what's with all the swordwomen
wait wrong comic
>Gave his Master the death from her enemy that she wanted
>Fed her body to the dogs like she wanted
Holy shit. Incubus really is the perfect apprentice! He must have loved Meti very much.
I think the "lesson" that is being shown with Meti and her two students is that Incubus is the one student who listened to his teacher and did everything he was told while Maya is the student that ignored and disobeyed everything Meti said. Looking at Maya and Incubus now, and their reputation, i think its implying that Maya was still the better student, or at least the one that learned more.
Lol, I never thought about how Meti's halo has a slash through it. You know, what with her whole swords/cutting thing.
Anyway, it seems like Incubus and Solomon do have parallel stories, what with the whole "lost everything, were facing death, petitioned a martial arts master to take them as students, then used their teachings to kill them".
She does looks like her.
Her death was never stated. She said she was going to go drown in the gore of her enemies after finishing her manual.
the pseduo Japanese location they're in is also probably a good indication
Why is the quality of this image so bad? It looks like you took a picture of your screen (or is this from the printed book?) to post this instead of just cropping the original page.

He saved the crop in JPG instead of PNG

I a spin off about the pursuers doing silly slice of life things in their ship
The gun witch Layla Brimstone, Monkey the belligerent knight in samurai armor, and Eris Lo-Kai a Vatra (wizard) are the only ones that seem interesting enough to have amazing backstories or personalities.
what about Hrotomos?
he's a baby
he's 100 years old
and he's super smart
and his race lives 1000 years
Yeah but what if his race's adults are smol?
>Etlin Da
Oh so there's a whole Gog-Agog race
I thought Gog just had a weird head tumor.
Maya probably doesn't know that.
what if his race's adults are REALLY big
Gog is a swarm of semi-sentient worms that devoured the Demiurge who came into their world. They can take many shapes, like weird harp-headed people, apparently
I was about which one did it, but i told you fuckers that meti would be killed by her apprentice.
>our paths eventually divulged
abby honey i'm pretty sure you mean diverged
WTF are you on about? What's making you take the logic jump that somehow that pursuer is also a worm construct?
So... Incubus did exactly what Meti wanted?
user here, , never said that.
Our context for knowing is that she was telling her “Idiot Apprentice,” Maya.
Yanyi seems like a gentle giant. He was cute declining politely, with embarassment, a glass of wine (if I remember right) at Mottom's party.
I'd like to know how Ingsvld feels about having commited his life to the wax drippers' guild, of all things - geas don't get to pick their one assignement.
Krismuyana is something like a factory foreman with mafia connections, no?
Good God. Is Abbadon married and honeymooned yet so that he can get on with the comic?
She knows but is pissed off about it anyway because she is an idiot speck of a girl with more talent for eating than skill with the blade.
Ah, so Maya is being willfully rebellious and anti-Meti, as usual.
>tfw rebel scum exist
The recent hiatus has nothing to do with his relationship. He took an extra few days to work on Lancer because they got an overwhelming response for their kickstarter funding. That's $200k riding on that game. Not only is he designing the it, they are self publishing it through the company he co-founded. That's a lot of work to take care of.
But what about Cio?
She accidentally offered a crack head twenty bucks to kill her master . Sith.
>she can't express how much she hates incubus
They are 100% going to fuck.
>Going to
>Not did
Somebody had to make that featherless biped into a man.
incubus is too gay to waste time on old drunk thots
Too late, user. I'm now shipping the fat washed-up sword drunk with the addled shit-lathered coke fiend who is sometimes david bowie.
That was sort of her point though. Like, "if you want to poison yourself with sword law, you should expect to die young".
To be fair, she probably thinks Incubus is an idiot too.
It's probably her original look
>the death she always wanted
For all I remember, Meti does say what she wanted done to her body after death, but it's never said she wanted to die.
Oof! What is that?! A titty? Isn't this comic made by a white male? YIIIIIIIIKES!!! I'm cringing pretty hard over here! I really hope he edits that out soon, it's really problematic.
Unless Abaddon is going to retcon stuff in the future, by the time Meti wrote her Sword Manual Incubus had left her and Maya was her only apprentice, and she had decided to die in a fight.
>I am Meti, of no house but myself. In my 108th year I am surrounded by fools. My compatriots cling obsessively to their destiny, and my only apprentice is an idiot speck of a girl with more talent for eating than skill with the blade. Therefore I have decided to die drowning in the boiling gore of my enemies, of which there are many.
I think user means that Meti told Maya to run away from the sword and form a family and live peacefully and happily, but had she done that then she would have been brutally raped and murdered during the siege of the Yellow city
Yeah, I had forgotten about that.
Fucking awesome.
I guess, in the end, Maya didn't understand Meti very well, despite the time they spent together.
Killing your own master's still a massive dick move, when she has many enemies to do it instead of her own disciples.
Here, take your (You) and fuck off.
Isnt bookhead older than the demiurges or something? Anyways he seems like a pretty interesting fellow
That's also been upscaled which adds more distortion.
Here's a lossless crop from the original.
>everyone thought Incubus would be some high handed devil dealing cockgobbler
>he's actually a street rat who started from the bottom and fulfilled his sword mommy's dying wishes
I wish the volume 3 print was as big as the first two
That still doesn't explain how Incubus got his key, however, nor why what he did is so heinous. Solomon killed his masters, Mottom killed her husband, Jadis may or may not have killed her dad, Mammon killed his family (clan?), and Jagganoth and Gog are both... Yeah.
So again, what the fuck could he have done that's so heinous that princess Apathy in the glass got off her lazy ass to insult him?
I think it's less heinous and more dishonorable. He got it in a way the other demiurges disaprove of, like stealing it or begging for it. If he'd just taken it by force like a normal demigod, maybe he'd have earned his place at the table.
I still find it hilarious that we all thought Incubus was some kind of eldritch soul horror desire personification, and him having no past just refers to him being a war orphan.
Also? My money's on euthanasia. What worse fate for a glory hound, and more insulting to a bunch of people who cling furiously to life, than seeing the Destroyer feebly begging her student to put her out of her misery?
please learn to use lossless cropping, yours just made it blurry and added artefacts
Gosh user, it's almost like we are reading the comic like you are, as it unfolds.
What is INGSVLD doing?
Twist plot reveal secret trap timing: Maya is actually jealous that she didn't get to do it herself.
Jacking off
I hope this comic doesn't suffer from that, I'm happy for Abby and all but I really don't care about Lancer in the slightest.
Lol just lol if you think Incubus didn't fuck anything that moved and a good deal of things that didn't
Incubus officially the most powerful character in the comic you heard it here first live
WHO DREW THIS
WHOOOOOOOOOOO
Welcome, new waifu
To live an die as a peasant is preferable to using terrible strength
Agreeing with simply because it seems like the phrases "We were close, him and I", "He listened to his heart, and I mine", and "God will never forgive me for the hate I feel for that man" feels like they were companion lovers at some point. They have definitely fucked before.
I need to see Buff Maya snusnuing emaciated shota Incubus. I NEED IT
>the virgin king
>the chad peasant
Zoss BTFO
If the buddha stands in your way of enlightenment, kill the buddha.
Yisun is a bitch and I will cut its head off
>Then fed her torn body to the dogs.
Based Incubus.
This, but unironically. Only the worst kind of idiot strives to be king.
Calm down, YISUN
>want to play Lancer
>friends are old-school Tolkien nerds who hate stuff with robots/mechs, webcomics, and fun
:(
But Gog
[Spoiler]dial down the autism, friends
Yeah, but the theme with the most extremely powerful people is that once you get the power, you're effectively trapped by it.
arent we all
If you step on the path to power, you basically have to possible outcomes: either you fail and die very quickly and painfully, or you succeed and become a misery-wracked shell of your former self trapped in your own power.
It's not even autism it's just honestly amazing how people manage to fuck things up. What should have been a simple crop job involving a 3 or two mouse clicks some how resulted in OP posting a picture with fucked up quality. A game of telephone with one person and the message still got ruined.
No, the theme is true royalty gives up power (YISUN, Zoss) lest they become entrapped by it.
I think he'll finish K6BD and won't leave the fans hanging. He's well invested in the story at this point. Plus Lancer is mostly done already. I think they might be making a few tweaks to the game here or there and they're going to work on artwork and packaging and the rest of the business is media/advertisement, fulfilling kickstarter goals, printing, distribution, and paying people.
>Q: What shape do you think the cold white flame would have taken, had the law not been beaten into it? Would what came from it be significantly different from devils?
>A: Almost assuredly a terrible shape, that we should not wish to see.
Order monsters when?
I have a feeling that's what the Thorn Knights and Metatron 1 are becoming. There's something eldritch and wrong with them, brought about because they've abandoned the law to do their own thing. Like the shell they wear to contain what's really underneath is cracking, revealing something far worse.
Holy shit I just saw the parallel between devil masks and angel shells.
Note how Zoss is still trapped in multiple cycles.
Jokes on you, they'll just become Auditors of Reality.
I missed the last threads. Did we ever talk about the red eyes out of nowhere?
Allison is going to rename White Chain into a badass, isn't she?
>Also young Maya a cute, shouldn't have let herself go.
regular humans age normally in kb6d, she's like mid 50s when allison arrives
On one side, I'm glad he didn't make a super long flashback, but at the same time I'm disappointed I didn't get any flashback...huh
yeah, i would've liked to see more of incubus' progression from horrible little gremlin to bishonen to back to horrible gremlin
At length, yes.
Like Incubus I was fatshaming.
>So again, what the fuck could he have done that's so heinous that princess Apathy in the glass got off her lazy ass to insult him?
They all took their keys through some form of conquest and that's the issue they have with Incubus and shit on him. In terms of direct action to get the key we've seen all the other examples so far be direct action. Worm ate her way to a key, solomon punched his way to it, Mottom killed her husband, and even lovable grandpa being the outlier of "paid for it" clearly made an exchange to get his and that's worth something.
The way the others act, which might not end up being the case, Incubus was just sort of thrown the keys after fat aunty said fuck this I'm done and regardless of the fact he was (I guess?) a powerful warrior in his own right his ascent to supreme power looks like it's just "well he was there when she left"
I think even him stealing his key wouldn't have drawn the venom that the others have for him because even then that's him trying to get shit.
oh no.jpg
>paid for it
Speaking of Mammon I don't think he just bought his key from a demiurge. I'm pretty sure he bought mercenaries to help him take his key. It would fit more with the "violence is the only real way to get a key" vibe the other 6 have against incubus.
Mammon has 111,111 keys. If he only bought the first...
Angels kind of already were more metal Auditors of Reality before the schism tho
I think once Incubus and Maya meet once again on the battlefield, the truth is going to come out in an angry exchange. I can't wait.
I always thought they disliked him because he just picked up the keys Maya threw away, didn't even fight for it or steal it or anything. It's the laziest way anyone could get a key, much less 1/7th of the universe.
By that time Inc was no longer Meti's apprentice. Had apparently gone his own way.
That's something that would be cool for a side story.
Try sharing the mech designs on /m/, could possibly get an online group going.
We don't need to make what happened on /tg/ happen on another board
*thinkingemoji.jpeg*
Yeah, it's a shame most of /tg/ is content to keep on with the same retarded shitposting about D&D, warhammer, and thinly veiled ERP threads, but what can ya do.
It is a pity, just part of why I had hope in /m/. I had actually managed to get players from /tg/ in games I ran years ago, but I think those days are done.
Someone with such a lust for yuri
someone post that nendoroid edit with incubus' goblets.
>It's the laziest way anyone could get a key, much less 1/7th of the universe.
It's not, he was still in the middle army and a powerful warrior (I guess? I mean he was a student so I'd assume he was good before being cripple fuck blood pit guy we see now). With that said as far as the others are concerned him picking up where someone left off IS as worthless as being a farm boy in universe bumfuck and just stumbling on one.
That wasn't the problem and you know it.
Oh dang.
Oooooh dang
What? Afair God in this comic don't give a fuck about what you do.
Are you trying to contradict that user?
Incubus is talking about Maya there. Not Meti
The law still exists within their beings. That's why metatron has to scheme and manipulate instead of annihilating the seven with a thought and putting Zaid in power
A bit, sword wielders seem to light up at the prospect of violence. Zoss has these too but they are permanent. They somehow remind me of sith eyes.
Plus I'm pretty sure Maya was established to hate all gods and to want to kill them all
>Can't be a noodle vendor
>I'll train Noodle from Gorillaz instead
Wasn't there a patreon handout recently? Has any new information on the tournament been revealed on the discord?
Mammon bought his key and killed his way through a hundred thousand more of them
It's a saying. You don't need to believe in or worship god to use it in speech.
I wonder if we'll see more of Eris Lo-kai, he seems like an interesting, cooky old wizard.
God = spirit of the world and its inhabitants. Just a way of saying the hate is so great it cannot be reconciled.
>thinly veiled ERP threads on /tg/
That sounds fucking hilarious. I have to see this.
I think it's more likely that Incubus reminds each of the other Demiurges of something they hate about themselves. Incubus was only picked to be a student of Meti because he met some arbitrary criteria of hers, Mottom only became a demiurge because Hastet Om though she was pretty and married her (note that Mottom specifically points to her hair as the reason why Hastet chose her). Incubus came from nothing and only survived by the benevolence of others whom he later killed, Solomon David lost everything and only survived by the benevolence of others whom he later killed. Incubus killed his master, Mammon killed his kin. We don't know enough about Jadis or Gog-Agog to put a parallel between them and Incubus, though for the latter I'd assume it has something to do with him being a metaphorical leech and her being literal worms.
Jadis killed her father/master
they are
but they're never my fetish :(
Angels can't be renamed
Calm down Abby
>the constant shit talk is mostly to cover up the fact he's known by his rivals to be second to Jag in power
>he's actually even stronger, because he's willing to gain power by becoming Alison's courtier
He's not even the strongest leader of his own army.
>do explicitly what your master wants to happen to her
>other student: what the fuck are you doing, I hate you so much
I sure hope we get some context to what happened, because right now, according to what we know currently, Incubus did nothing wrong in regards to Meti
Given what we've seen in the flashbacks I'm willing to accept that Maya is was and always will be a raging idiot. She's just a raging idiot who's pretty fucking good at Sword Law now.
Is Maya actually autistic
>beg someone for over a decade to take you as their student
>they repeatedly call you a fucking moron and refuse to train you
>your not-master takes on another apprentice and said apprentice follows your not-masters teachings
>reeeeeee i hate him so much
She is the Dobson of sword fighters.
It would be a great twist to have a villain join the party. It would fit Incubus' character too, since it's hedging his bet while still dismantling the power balance of the universe.
But she didn't hate him initially. They were close while training under Meti until Incubus killed her.
I'm betting we will get shown a flashback where Meti dies happily at the hands of Incubus, who indulges her wishes and throws her corpse to the dogs
Maya's interpretation of events is just not very Meti like
lol
I don't think that makes her advice wrong? She'd be happier dying young and with the small amount of happiness she was able to experience then than having lived up to this time filled with hatred, is how I can see it interpreted.
They didn't abandon the Law; Metatron is using an older version/interpretation of it.
Remind me, what the fuck's the Law again
Was it demiurges or the smithing god who beat it into the angels, I'm confusion
As I recall, the Old Law is what the god Koss imbued the angels with when he forged them from the Cold White Flame. The New Law is the pact the angels made with the demiurges when they forged their new bodies during the reconstruction of Throne. Many (most?) angels regard the New Law as having been broken and voided by the Universal War, and thus they are no longer obligated to obey or uphold it.
Cool theory, I like it. That's probably not canon, tho.
I think you might have forgotten the whole "murdered and fed to wild dogs" thing Abby devoted the last panel to.
We do know that Meti did tell them to do that second part, at least.
The murder, on the other hand, is highly questionable.
Meti wanted to die against her enemies and be fed to the dogs
Incubus did nothing wrong
Bumb
ayy
Bump
Man the lack of updates really took the wind out of our sails huh
It's fine to not go long every time. We got enough out of this thread.
