I cant explain why i like this show, its world building is aggressively mediocre and its attempts at humor fall flat 90% of the time.

Starved for actions shows that take itself at least half seriously?
I recomend you to just watch other thing like Mob Psycho or Wakfu.
Main group has a cute relationship and the villian is likeable.
Wakfu is garbage stop pretending it’s anything else other than waifu bait.
>Starved for actions shows that take itself at least half seriously?
There's more of those than Yea Forums would like to admit. But it's easier to bitch about things you don't like than cheering for the ones you do.
I agree, and it's because almost all the characters are good and likable
Is it the waifus? It's the waifus for me.
It's an above average action series until the Eliatrope OVA.
>There's more of those than Yea Forums would like to admit.
Maybe that's why anime comes up here so much.
Basically but also I was starved for Jack De Sena I think.
It's trying really hard to capture the magic of ATLA instead of trying to be it's own unique thing.
A lot of them remind me of Dean Koontz's characters. Everyone good has this annoying goody two shoes personality and end up feeling really bland and uninteresting. You can tell that the author really, really wants you to like them but they seem flat. Only the villains have any glaring personality flaws and end up having more depth despite the fact that you can tell that the author doesn't want you to like them.
>"dark" magic can do things like heal cripples and feed entire kingdoms.
>somehow we are supposed to feel like its the worst thing ever and should never ever be used under any circumstances.
HUMANS RISE UP
Hot elves
>nevermind the constant hints of it being a heroin-like substance
As much as I want to waifu Aaravos and say fuck the elves for trail of tear'ing our asses, and using black magic justifies the end, that shit is blatantly nasty.
Nah
I think heroin would be justified if it could feed the hungry and heal the sick.
no magical creatures besides dragons seem to exhibit any level of intelligence beyond normal animals.
if you think killing magical creatures for spells in wrong than you need to be full on vegan to not come off as a hypocrite.
I was thinking more the psychological and physical damage it does to the user. They appear to need training for proper dosage just to start with, and the longer they use, the more damage it does after each dose, until their next fix. What's even more horrifying is how easily and excitedly they justify it.
Granted this is only from watching the behavior of only a few characters.
Maybe you're gay
Gah, I would do such inappropriate things with Rayla!
The world building is probably due to budget. They get like what 9 episodes per season. And the humor is pretty typical of what you'd hear from the characters.
Personally I'm happy that they managed to make just about every character likeable..
That may have to do with not enough of telling the effects on the user.

Link is just an recent interview with the crew.
Does this mean Claudia would potentially suck dick for dragon snot?
I mean I enjoyed it mostly so far, but boy did they put on an extra layer of "everyone is special and all the cripples and shit get to play along", it was a little much and seemed to take focus from anything, also the egg should have stayed and egg, he hatched at least a season too soon.
Shut your fucking mouth.
>a zoomer interviewing two boomers with zoomer mentality
If that was me I would have put on my thickest, most formal voice and outright turned the interview into a criticism of their show.
Instead of asking about "muh retarded lore" I would have asked for "Hey asshole, how much did you really contribute to The Last Airbender? How much are you willing to work for? What's your work schedule? Did you browse /tg/? I want to hire you, but not if you create bullshit filler on top of filler with the few episodes you have to work with."
These queers don't know what a real journalist is suppose to be like.
Settle down a little there. Not every interview has to be an interrogation.
Do you wonder if Callum felt rejected in his new family?
Mom suddenly has a new royal husband and is on top of the world, giving all the attention to her new baby while you are just left alone. Dad is distant and doesn't seem to like you very much (Despite not being the case). They make a painting of the entire family but its only them and you are nowhere to be found, as if you are no longer part of the family.
Your only friends are Soren and Claudia. Callum probably felt lonely for a while.
I wouldn't be surprised if he felt some shades of that, but his situation is better than you think.
First, where did you get the idea that the portrait didn't have him? It very clearly did. He was standing there, hands clasped, wearing an awkwards smile besides his mom, stepdad and baby bro.
Second, he has fond enough memories of his mother that I doubt his mother neglected him. And while his stepdad kept his distance somewhat, he did spend some time with his and care for him. I don't think Callum ever felt Harrow disliked him or even was indifferent for him. He likely knew that Harrow cared for him on some level, even if he struggled to see him as a father figure.
Third, he still had some contact with his mom's family, like Amaya. He was apparently close enough to her to learn sign language.
What the hell do you think this is? Watergate?
Drought. It also helps that Dragon Prince does have some good things going for it.
The character interactions are legitimately well-done, which is a lot of why people stick with things
And the show genuinely tries to bring out emotions in the viewers. Whether it actually does varies, but a lot of shit nowadays doesn't really think about trying to make the people watching care
Callum was in the painting.
It feels like it's going somewhere. Rayla is cool when they deign to use her abilities. Also she has a cute accent and is alien enough to trip that boner.
Claudia is why I'm looking forward to season 3 though. She looks to have an interesting arc. Plus she is dark magic peanut butter breath, brap waifu.
Is that ezran? Why?
rayla was so horny she started seeing callum in other people
>Mmmmfff I always wanted to deflower a king.
For me, it's a couple of factors
>fantasy-adventure stories with kid protagonists are my shit
>I have a soft spot for idealism and optimism in media
>I like the characters
>The world may be generic but it has a sense of mystery to it that keeps me theorising and wanting to see what's next
>I can shrug off flat humor pretty easily since very little media out there makes me laugh anyway
And lastly
>knowing that the writer of AtLA is behind it, and that he planned a lot in advance, makes me hopeful that if there isn't outright kino coming, then at least, there'll be some satisfying resolutions to the story arcs and mysteries
It's not gay if it's an elf.
Is it straight if it's an elf and you're a lesbian though
No it just means you have good taste.
Hey I'm in that screenshot as the user who's mad about Aaravos
Curse this dress!
Post more elf girl.
That looks like Pom Klementief
but it's cute
yes and...?
fuck yeah! no more dopey kid holding us back!
Zym
The fucking title character
When will you stop making threads for this "#WOKE" SJW pandering garbage? Absolutely nobody on Yea Forums cares about this or any other Netflix trash.
hey there Fellow humans, i sure love shitposting on an anonymous image board about tv shows i dont even like.
let us discuss what underage female cartoon characters are most attractive.
The elf and dark magic bitches are pretty tappable, but it's all about the loli princess for me.
Man this show sucks!
Can't wait for season 3!
Sure thing ol' buddy ol' pal! I'm excited to talk to other humans about the political conspiracy to change the content of children's' shows, and to accuse anyone who disagrees with me of being paid to say so.
>All those drawings of Claudia
So do you think Callum had a secret stash of lewds he drew?
Id like this how more if it stopped acting like dark magic is never ever justified, killing 1 deer to heal a cripple or killing a big rock creature to save 100,000 lives is well worth it and you have to be delusional to disagree.
>Claudia healed Soren's paralysis within a few hours.
>never even tried to heal Amaya's deafness
Yeah I'd like them to go more into that too. There seems to be other stuff like how it turns you into some kind of ghoulish monster/saps your soul, and all this talk about how it's an 'abomination' that makes things too easy, like it's some kind of shortcut that violates a law of energy exchange or something. Hoping we'll get more magic lore cos as it stands yeah one lava monster to avert mass-famine seems like a sweet deal.
From a purely utilitarian stance they haven't made it into something so horrible it should be banished.
Im here for superior human seed breeding some half breeds with those smug elves
post rayllum
good to know we got those priorities straight

Young Justice exists.
Why do you people assume the perspective of the characters equates to the perspective of the show?
The show has not outright told us how to feel about dark magic one way or another only what the characters think about it, with people like Claudia, Viren and basically any magically inclined human being positive about it and elves and dragons disliking it.
ready for /our guy/ to get the redemption arc of the century.
For me its 10%
Soren is a good boy and doesn't need redemption.
youtube.com
She is cute when she gets excited.
Reminder that Viren is right and also best boy.
i like him as far as villains go, i wish we would get more flashbacks to back when he and Harrow were bros to humanize him more.
i wonder what he can really do from a jail cell next season even with aaravos in his ear(literally)
this is Viren's true form, say something nice about it.
That is one handsome motherfucker and I know I'm calling a female that.
Daily reminder of my original Aaravos theory:
Aaravos is one of the last of his kind and hoped to make more. So he tried to create life out of magic, but he instead made dark magic, which instead only turns life into magic and not the other way round. So he made the Key of Aaravos which, when used by someone that can use all magic types, can create Light Magic, which is magic that creates life out of magic. Aaravos couldn't use all 7 forms of magic so he banked on the humans instead, and started the war between humans and elves, but the humans lost and Aaravos along with them for betraying the elves.
