Whats the issue? Black Adam was an antihero(or antivillian) at times if I remember correctly
He was but the problem that it isn’t black Adam. It’s the Rock playing black atom. For better and in this case for worse Dwayne only knows how to play himself
It's the fuckin' rock! it's gonna be shit!
Watch this and say that again.
That again.
The sooner you accept that this version is going to be an anti-hero the less pain it will cause you in the long run.
Calling it now; the nephew will die not by Adam's hands but a accident or something and Adam will blame the Wizards and kill them in anger. Thus looking like a mad good guy not a villian.
How involved with the movie was he really?
isn't he already supposed to play doc savage ?
He paid for it, look it up
He was the majority producer.
No see I think what happens is
>Adam's wife and son dies by some villain/invading nation
>Adam goes off the deep end and decides to unleash The Seven Deadly Sins to wipe out the invading nation
>The part The Wizard left out is Adam cleaning up his own mess and using the magic eye to seal away The Sins.
Cut to modern day where he liberates Kandanq from it's current ruler.
The Rock only got over by becoming a heel, I'm sure he'll do fine here.
I'm honestly really surprised he wasn't sniped by Disney in the time it's taken Black Adam to get off the ground. His commitment to the character must be that deep.
Adam killed 6 of the Wizards. Why would he do that?
Wizard's mad that Adam boned his demon daughter.
He's been begging to play this character for at least 5 years. We're talking Ryan Reynolds Deadpool here.
If they turned harley quin, a chick who loves and has comitted crimes with and for a complete psychopath. Why the fuck can't Black Adam be the Vegeta to Shazam's Goku.
I thought they said The Sins killed the other wizards? Really though Adam can do pretty much anything and just go back saying "I was wrong" later in the movie and everyone will say its okay
>Cut to modern day where he liberates Kandanq from it's current ruler.
Can't wait for the egg cream scene
I think it would be fine with having Black Adam as an anti-hero. They basically have the same power anyway. Would also make it more generic with having a villain with the same powers. I think this is a good move.
Yes, finally. Enter the golden age of capeshit films bros
>Calls Black Adam an anti-hero
Is he not?
From my limited knoweldge of the character isn't he kinda like a Sinestro type in that he takes no pleasure in doing what he does, but he genuinely believes what he's doing is necessary. Compounded even more by the fact that he's from a time thousands of years ago when people were just more brutal.
Shazam said the other Champion out of revenge kill his brothers and sisters. It shows the Black Adam hologram killing them.
>movie was a watchable version of Johns Shazam
>Rock is playing Johns Black Adam
There's zero fucking reason to be surprised about this.
World War III movie when?
So we would have the sins as villains again? Would be boring if they look exactly the same desu
Rock cut his teeth on playing the charismatic bad guy. Relax.
Just got back from seeing SHAZAM! with my crew. We roll pretty deep and let me tell you, not a dry seat in the house. The piss was intense. Piss dripping out the seats, piss flowing down the aisles, piss in the popcorn. Piss jets in every direction. I actually shit myself three times, I told the door monkey and he was like "Aww here goes" and we fistbumped. It was all a good vibe. Great night out and if you roll with a chill crew and not a bunch of permavirgin goobers then you'll have a wicked sick time. LITTY.
In the Golden Age, he was an unironic, mustache twisting villain. Then again, in the Golden Age, Billy was a homeless orphan who may or may not have slept in the radio station where he worked after his first appearance in Whiz Comics.
Adam is an anti-hero, fuckhead.
The Rock fucking says he's been both an Anti-Hero AND Anti-Villain in the god damn video. OP, dont be a faggot.
Sinestro is a fucking liar. He loves what he does
/co full of morons each and every day
>watchable version
You meant, paycheck signed by Cereal Lord to be made payable to Cereal Lord, assuredly
Show Adam capturing the Sins via montage, but spend the rest of the movie building his corruption of the powers he was granted. Make him the villain of his own movie. Like he takes everything a step further than the worst of Khandaq's enemies hoping to protect the nation, little realizing that he's becoming something so much worse.
wut?
If people don’t like seeing seven sins again just get the Three Faces of Evil.
Would be badass to see Black Adam vs a fucking Dragon.
>thanks the fans
all 3 of them
Carol can earn a trillion and nerds still won't love her.
You know I really want to is Carol likeable in the comics?
I never read any books around Carol at all. Do you guys have any recommendations?
Yea Forums is retarded and doesn't read comics, that's the problem.
>nerds
She'll do with the love of everyone's else, cucklord.
>Pointing out Flopzam is a flop
>b-but CAROOOOOL!
Rent free. That billion really blasted your ass hard.
Any recs then? I just need a few.
You say shes cool right? Never read Carol but I am interested.
Too bad normies/casuals/china/Reddit/tumblr don't count right?
Shazam is still the better movie
Isn't Hawkman and Stargirl supposed to be in this movie?
I wanna see Billy meet with Stargirl as Shazam. I wanna see what they will do with their relationship.
>Black Adam
>Anti-Hero
I mean yeah, he kind of is I guess. He does everything for his country.
Is Adam more powerful than Billy or is he just more experienced?
He's more experienced in combat and magic. However, Black Adam is narrow-minded, vengeful, and egotistical.
>Mary or Darla get jealous that Billy is spending so much time with her.
Or a romantic comedy but with super hero antics
Hope Johns does this in his run.
He can actually act, he just doesn't have any problem taking shit roles in shit movies if they throw enough cash at him.
Didn’t Isis help him mellow out?
But it always feels like he's playing the same guy in every movie he's in.
I seriously hope they give him enough to work with for Black Adam
i kinda hope we will actually see black adam going full rampage mode
but it will probaly be PG-13 at best
Yes, she did. With Isis at his side, Black Adam is a model leader and hero. My guess is that the movie will have Adam lose Isis and when he fights Black Adam, it'll be to revive her at the cost of countless lives.
Can't wait for WWIII genocide.
In the JSA book, Black Adam turned into a much better version of Namor.
I fucking want that.
Rock is a better heel than baby face.
Did Isis popped up in New 52?
Based DChad.
Southland Tales. Was the first movie that make me think "Hey, the Rock acn actually act", and honestly I thought he was different in that movie. It's weird as fuck though.
5 years? Try 12 years. The Shazam movie has been through at least 3 different failed starts before finally getting his movie and The Rock has been involved in every single version. He's been chasing this for a long time.
Damn. You just gotta cheer up for the big guy.
Wonder if he got around to reading some Golden Age in the meantime.
If he is this invested I bet he's read just about everything Captain marvel related.
>You meant, paycheck signed by Cereal Lord to be made payable to Cereal Lord, assuredly
being witty is for people with a proper grasp of English language, user.
Damn, that was back when he had hair...
>Black Atom
UP AND AT THEM
You’re right both him and sinestro are brutal nationalistic dictators but are beloved. Occasionally both are villains yet sometimes they team up with heroes.
Thanks for correcting me here, I didn't want to exaggerate.
If the movie picks up anything from the modern run it will be like this:
Ibac is the most ruthless bastard on the planet and comes for Egypt. In fact he’s descended from Neron or some shit.
Black Adam fights him and demands more power to do it. He gets it but he ended up killing a child (possibly his son or daughter)
Black Adam breaks down and the Wizards lock him away.
Then he wakes up in modern times and has a hard time fighting Billy because he is a kid.
There’s your 7th Throne by the way.
...
>he's descended from Neron
Does anyone actually care about Neron? He's always seemed like the shittiest of the Satan expies.
Will Smith and Samuel L Jackson can actually act too but the problem with certain actors is they forget how to play someone other than themselves in cosplay.
