THE SECRET SPIRAL OF SWAMP KID TP
written by KIRK SCROGGS
art and cover by KIRK SCROGGS
Warning! Unless you have express permission from Russell Weinwright to access his notebook, do not read any further.
Seriously, we mean it.
Okay, if you are still with us, here is what we can share: Russell is a middle schooler; he excessively doodles; he has two best friends, Charlotte and Preston; he is not so great at sports; and he is pond scum. Nicknamed “Swamp Kid” by his classmates, Russell has algae for hair, a tree trunk for a right arm, and a carrot for a finger. Also, Russell’s favorite meal is sunlight. Also, a frog lives in his arm.
In this notebook, Russell details in both hilarious text and color illustrations (complete with ketchup stains!) what it’s like to be different, to discover his true talents, to avoid the intense stare of Mr. Finneca (his suspicious science teacher who may also be a mad scientist), and to find humor in the everyday weird.
This is THE SECRET SPIRAL OF SWAMP KID by writer and illustrator Kirk Scroggs, and you’ll never look at middle school the same way again.

>It is honestly amazing how long this Ric story has gone on for.
Sorta like how long that nonsense with Rath went on in Aquaman or how long King's been slowly killing everyone's interest in Batman?

Fucking Snyder.

>What can Lex Luthor offer former sidekick Jason Todd?
Oh my god Bendis really is taking Jason to use as the big bad in his Leviathan story. God damnit.

It has to because Duke is becoming Batman If Dick is well in the head and able to be Batman, then that means Duke can’t take over.

But the Ric thing is a completely editorial forced story. No writer involved in this gives a shit about it but just continue it because DC says it needs to continue until King is finished with his Batman story.

>Teen Lantern
wew, lad.

>the Amazons are back
Thank fuck for that. So sick of them being banished to whatever limbo dimension for basically no reason.

I don't even care that this is kinda rehashing the civil war idea from ages ago, or that fucking Grail is still around. It's fuckin something. And the covers even seem to imply they've maybe hopefully got their tech back.

... Now I'm just waiting to see how I get blueballed.

>Tynion has been ghostwriting Justice League for a LOOOOOONG time
I can't stand Snyder either so I've just been getting the issues with Jimenez's artwork.

After they introduced Ultra Violet Lanterns I decided it'd be better if I just ignored most of the dialog ...

>Tim Drake is about to do something he has only done...lots of times before. He is about to announce his new alias...a new superhero name. A Young Justice name. And this time, it’s permanent. Like, forever.
Well, it can't be any worse than fucking Red Robin.

Looks like she's enjoying it.

>Batman

Fucking hell, they only thing i'm probably going to check is the new Jimmy Olsen , hoping it isn't going to suck like the last one he shared with Bizarro.
I promised to myself to not be negative but damn, there is literally nothing to look forward to.

>But the Ric thing is a completely editorial forced story.
I was impressed with the level of Editorial fuckwittery that it took to have Aquaman kick off a new writer with basically the same "amnesia" BS at the exact same time as this was going on.

Although, to be fair, it just lasted for the one arc with TalksToFishMan.

I mean: Amnesia, Broken/New Powers, and Time Travel Shenanigans are just Hack Writing 101.

Why is Alan Moore the cake when he's right there in the picture?

#9 as a final issue? Doesn't the trade only go to six?

>hoping it isn't going to suck like the last one he shared with Bizarro

MOTH'D

I thought this title was cancelled along with the rest of the Dark Matter books. I mean, it's not like anyone cares about it.

Weird days when I had come to wish Johns could do anything to stop this impeding disaster, because I think he genuinely likes Jason as a not-really-a-villain-but-a-conflicted-soul vigilante.

>Rucka writes another alcoholic angry bisexual brunette

I love that DC has given up printing new trades ever since department got restructured.
Why bother soliciting any when 70% of the books get cancelled?

...i don't know ...but I'm curious

What do they think they're doing with Kon's pants?

Castellucci is just mad enough to do it.

Soon. He’s gonna have Superman use his shape shifting powers and have him make out with her.

And in this post, Lex Luthor makes an offer to permanently shave off no less than two seconds of finite time alive spent reading this, will user accept?

Oh shit, maybe all of those Killer Moth threads will not be in vain.

I like Jimmy but I don't care when they do the "le ironic silver age" Olsen. So i hope this isn't the case here.

MATURE READERS

Please don't get cancelled. This is a good chunk of the post Moore stuff, and the rest of the volume after this is collected in the three Millar thick trades.

DC isn't very creative

It's actually Catwoman. Think about it. She's constantly saving Batman's ass and is able to defeat any rogue in this run. The whole thing has been building to this moment.

Does anyone know the name of that one immortal Green Lantern with a ring that looked like Alan Scott's ring. He was sitting on a throne and had a chalice.

He made an apparance like 1 time in the 80s and they never established what this dude's backstory was.

Those names are fine because they're original, Red Robin is just Robin with Red before it, which is fucking stupid, Tim should've ditched the Robin name long ago.

I always felt that the name RED ROBIN would have fit Jason Todd more and better than Red Hood ever did. It'd signal that he's a Robin, but that he was hurt, died, and now has blood in his hands. RED is made up of blood, you see. It's genius.

Also, whenever he finds blood somewhere he dips his fingers in it and give himself a blood y streak over his face symbolizing his bloody tears.

Looks good
I did faggot.

Oh sweet Aqualad is back

Aqualad in Aquaman? That was long overdue. And of course it's in a Black Manta story

This is the most interesting DC has been in ages. Go jack off to your boring ass nostalgia fag Rebirth runs

It's probably going to be Hal Jordan's cousin Hal Jordan, i.e. Air Wave. It would make sense to reintroduce him at a Jordan family gathering and his costume has yellow gloves.

Castellucci can be pretty lewd 'n' erotic, I'm ready for Sexy adventures of Batgirl.

Can you be more edgy, please?

It's pretty impressive that he was pretty much a non-entity for so much of New 52. He was around for DC You, but as an asshole trying to kill Arthur (thanks Bunn).
I think even Parker used Tula more than him.

>Cyborg Overman
Called it Overman has ditched the Reich so they made a fake to stand in for him, that’s why they’re so hesitant to use him

If so, can we call her BatTranny?

I'm still really surprised that Jones, a woman, made Catwoman wear a corset in her redesign. She's supposed to know you can't do acrobatics in that.

Jackson Hyde/Kal-Dur/ Black Aqualad only got introduced with Rebirth. Tempest/Garth was the one in the brought back in the Bunn run. I'm pretty sure Garth is back on his way to limbo and potential cannon fodder now that Titans is dead.

The problem isn't Color + Thing, its the fact that Red Robin is the name of a burger joint.

This sound a lot like No Man's Land.

Supes is totally forming the United Planets

I agree with the people saying it’s becaus of King. King wants Bruce cut off from the Batfamily while he tells his Bane story. Once his Bane story is done expect Ric to go back to Dick.

Didn't know that, I concede.
Would be like Hal going around calling himself Burger King.

>The Bizarro Terrifics were almost the most dangerous things in the universe. When Lex Luthor gives them a time machine, they become the most dangerous things in the universe. This will get weird.
Oh sweet. I can’t wait for Yang Terrifics.
I care faggot. Would you rather another Batman book or something?

Grail is showing up still?

I don’t mind Tim getting a new name, Red Robin sucked ass as a name. And surprise surprise, Gleason couldn’t keep on schedule.

Yes, but at least this is a chance to do something interesting with her. Gotta be honest, she did have a pretty funny scene in the first issue where she's rookies with Ares. I feel like Willow is most comfortable with low key humor, so that should make Grail tolerable enough.

Fuck y'all this is cool

>user thinks I give a fuck about his faggot ass opinion of my opinion
Not once, not never.

>Giving Bendis this many fucking books
Fucking why?

God, it would be amazing if Batman DID make a mistake in choosing who should be on the new Outsiders, but that won't happen because God can't be fallible or the universe will collapse.

Malvolio

All of this Batman wank is just tiring really. I know Batman is their bread and butter but jesus christ.

They're just reprints of the Wal-Mart books user.

>Bring back the trio
>Somehow fucked up all of their Rebirth design
Goddamn it.

And all of the memeposting of this pairing finally paying off.

Attached: CoolCoffee.gif (360x360, 3.72M)

And the fact that it has fucking Event in the name just proves how much of a lazy son of a bitch Bendis really is.

Oh shit I almost forgot about him.

Calling it, Deathstroke doesn't die but he comes back younger which is why Wintergreen is all WTF.

Also Jericho fucks up big time.

>This is the most interesting DC has been in ages.
This is the worst period in DC. Bendis and his cronies (Fraction, DeConnick, Wilson) and King raping DC to death.

I was only 29 years old. I loved DC so much, I had all the merchandise, comics, and movies. I'd pray to DC every night before I go to bed, thanking them for the life I've been given. "DC is love", I would say, "DC is life". My dad hears me and calls me a faggot. I knew he was just jealous for my devotion of DC. I called him a cunt. He slaps me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel something touch me. It's Dan DiDio. I'm so happy. He whispers in my ear, "I'm hiring Brian Michael Bendis". He grabs me with his powerful ogre hands, and puts me on my hands and knees. I spread my ass-cheeks for Dan. He penetrates my butthole. It hurts so much, but I do it for DC. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please DiDio. He roars a mighty roar, as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. DiDio looks him straight in the eye, and says, "It's all over now". DiDio leaves through my window. DC is love. DC is life.

People care, it's the only reason is still going.

>Oh it's her? Moth will rape her then
If anything Babs will rape Moth.

Johns is Bendis without the Eisner's.

>THIS EVENT SHALL BE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED IN THE HISTORY OF EVERYTHING

This is still being published?

Let's be fair, Hal might have a problem around Jailbait, but he's straight as a flagpole.
Don't start worrying until you find out it's a girl sidekick.

...fuck it, it's got my interest. Young Animal's certainly done a better job of stepping out of it's predecessor's shoes than the newly recanonised Sandman universe has.

Is it sad that I can't imagine a good modern Wonder Woman story without Darkseid and Grail anymore? The sad, sad truth is for all that arc's flaws it's the only memorable thing in Simmons' run

>“The Flash Year One” finale! This oversize anniversary issue marks the end of Barry Allen’s journey to become the Flash

byeonara rebirth flash, hello new flash series?

Doesn't mean anything. It was worse than the Sandman line. Doom Patrol was the only good comic, and Bug was fun.

I think it's kind of funny how unintentionally similar this title is to Carnage USA

Attached: 510NqQa2QCL._SX326_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg (328x499, 30K)

Flex Mentallo has a personal rogues gallery now?

Didn't he always?

Isn't this the plot of The Dark Knight Rises?

I don't trust what stories from Gotham Knights they'll use

How I wish it wasn't. It's astounding they somehow found a way to make Tim Hunter boring by overcomplicating the mystery.

This is worse, though. This can't be taken seriously when they solved Barbatos with Element X which Snyder had to awkwardly shuffle off to explain why they never used it again

I hate this arc and I think I'm beginning to hate Bane too

So everyone's going to pretend this doesn't exist, but I'm just here laughing at the idea anyone could take the idea of the Furies permanently turning on Darkseid seriously

What the shit since when has THIS been a thing

"Batman Black and White" ran as a backup feature in Gotham Knights.
It's printing all the back up stories

>to his previous immeasurable power
Are.
Are they ACTUALLY acknowledging Morrisonseid's true platonic multiverse squishing belly flop girth.

Or are they just trying to pretend Darkseid War's Darkseid was a cosmic entity instead of a big punch man?

Each issue has been storytimed, but because of the shitposting in the first thread, each subsequent thread has been auto saged, so it disappears quickly on wednesday's

Someone at DC explained the Gohan Blanco memes to Snyder and he thought it would make a good series. This is the only possible explaination I have for where this is going.

Attached: Elhermano.jpg (985x554, 63K)

People gotta start going after his editor Rob Levin until we get a better writer

Justice League Dark: The story of Wonder Woman & friends getting the shit kicked out of them over and over again

>what can Lex Luthor offer...Circe?
Bitch was throwing herself at him when he ran for president, that's what

>The Devil is looking for a decent place to die
This is the best Vertigo imprint because it acknowledges that there's nothing left to do after Carey's perfect ending other than stumble around aimlessly

Did Bendis Confuse Plastic man with Ralph Dibney the actual street level Detective who would fit in here.

and the art is fantastic, though I don't like Bowie-Lucifer that much

Attached: Lucifer 006-006.jpg (1988x3056, 1.74M)

>Grail is back
ahaha
AHAHAHAHAHAHAhaha

It unironically puts a smile on my face that they made an edgy OC donut steel, played her COMPLATELY STRAIGHT and just bounce her off the DC universe. Also holy shit I was right about literally only Darkseid and his kid being the last surviving New Gods at the moment.

Grail is objectively terrible as a concept, but somehow also the pinnacle of unintentional entertainment for me in Wonder Woman's run.

Attached: Jimmy_Olsen_1_var_2.jpg (792x1200, 686K)

So has Snyder quit the book to write Image stuff?

That explains a lot, sadly. What's the issue exactly? Isn't it just some dystopia where the League put on the reich?

Yeah, I have mixed feelings about the art but hey: Fever dream art for a fever dream plot. Can't say it doesn't fit the bill

Attached: AQM_Cv50_var_2.jpg (791x1200, 1.57M)

>Isn't it just some dystopia where the League put on the reich?
Earth X, where the Nazi's won.
Apparently a book about fighting against nazis was too much for some people.
Here's the shitshow that was the first thread

>no new wildcats

>no new gen13
what the fuck? what happened? why?

Wild Storm wasn't really a hit and the first spin off sold like crap

THAT'S THE ONE. Thank you

Well hell, I couldn't care less about american politics but it's sad punching nazis-actual, historical national socialists not any modern group toiting around the name-is politically incorrect now.

I'm honestly not surprised. Even if it had been handled better Wildstorm really was a product of it's times.

Goodbye Jon

>Still not dead

>I'm just here laughing at the idea anyone could take the idea of the Furies permanently turning on Darkseid seriously
Well Barda turned against Darkseid and she was a female fury.

Didn't Bane already do this during Forever Evil?

Finally. More about Bizarro and Artemis again. I miss them.
She is using part of Poison Ivy powers?
I don´t like Rucka but.. I think that I will read it.
>Lobo wants a daughter he can be proud of.

Seems that the pass of years made him soft.

Lexie.. You are even here.. What is happening here.. He wants to make one big supervillains alliance?

> Batman is nowhere to be found. At least not the Batman anyone knows.
Please no.. Not duke batman.. Use Jason, is a better option.
Seems that I did a good choice leaving this book long time ago..

Yes. Instead we get one of these shitty Greatest Stories Ever Told books that were only ever tolerable when people had no other options

>Lieber
got fucking damnit you know I have to read it.

FUCK YES!
Hope that this this is a sign that Tommy gonna have his own show.

is this any good? I ducked out because Amnesia Stories are always dumb.

This as well.

I'm just heavily disappointed with what happened to this. I have no idea if Priest is mandated to do those shitty crossovers but everytime he does it I just lose all interest. Which is a shame since the Arkham arc was actually interesting.

Honestly, the only shit I consistently look forward to is just Green Lantern and Hawkman

Wow, the way they colored that cover looks really terrible, I know they were going for a painterly look but god, they should have replicated more traditional lookinng methods. It looks too digital and shiny.

If anything, it should be the new Lantern coming up in the Young Animal book Far Sector. Grant seems like he'd be willing to throw his ward a bone by promoting a character from Way's imprint.

Finally we can get to the multiversal lanterns.
Also hope for another Gentry cameos in this issue.

Literally had the same thought. He probably vaguely remembered a stretchy detective guy from that time he skimmed through Identity Crisis, and no one bothered to correct him.

Bendis always makes his adopted nigress daughter a self insert character.

I fucking hate bendis,

Litterally only following this because of Nazi Plasticmen and /pol/tards shitting up the storytime threads.

Attached: plas.jpg (1332x2048, 716K)

I hope you die

Gotta buy this.
Curious on Gerads' variant...

Damn. When's the last time Rose and Thorn showed up?

It's clearly Flashpoint Thomas.

I think Maleev's wanted to draw him for years.

Looks like Despero.

I love these covers.

why is loli lantern coated in tentacles

I hope that you are right.. I remember Gotham Girl introduction mentioning Duke..
>He wants to ruin his son reputation?

no way King gonna surrender mantle of first ever writer who made batman black

No offense but you guys always sound racist when you complain about shit like this, like you might as well say anti-racism is codeword for anti-white.
And the funny thing is that how little of interest King shows in Duke.

cus its not enough to make a racebender version of popular character to actually make it interesting

CapFalcon and Kamala were pretty good, while Miles and others are still shit

>Nothing of racism here.. I hate Duke..

If DC wants one black batman they can use LUKE FOX (Batwing) better than Snyder pet.

There was a one shot early in the new 52

these
maybe, interested for sure

Feels weird that Hawkman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter are my favs now, never cared before

How is The Terrifics? I was interested but fell out of comics around the time the first issue released.
I don't get how people read the main Batman/Superman shit

>another month of boring, uninteresting stuff and one sided sexisim by having only the men drawn in revealing outfits and with attractive bodies

It’s actually pretty darn good. Too bad the entire NAoH crashed and burned so hard that this is the only book left.

Shit i hope not.
Not him or Black Hand.
Only Geoff Johns should bring em back.

Attached: jason todd and artemis grace.jpg (1668x2224, 392K)

will it start with CIA capturing Bane?

that´s one awesome cover
too bad that modern comics suck nowadays so much with sjw and feminists

thanks, i knew Lemire was on it, when did the new writer take over? he did Chinese Superman and I loved that

>Tomasi, Jurgens and Venditti
They're still here...

Wait wasn’t this the plot of that one Booster Gold episode in Justice League Unlimited?

>sjw now ruined white rabbit as well
fuck comics are never going to be like the used to be are they?
doesn´t matter how low sales get they won´t stop to change everything to fit their feminist agenda

can´t have white male heroes in current year user.
they all have to be replaced by women or black men

February was the worst selling month in over 7 years.
nobody like the direction the comic book industry has been heading

>sjw now ruined white rabbit as well
Her new costume is just as sexy as her old one. Her old costume was literally of the shelves Victoria's secret lingerie. And her new outfit looks like an actual costume some time was spent on designing. Now if they can actually give her some good characterization.

no it isn´t
women aren´t allowed to show of cleavage nowadays period let alone have big breasts
it´s so fucking boring seen the same sjw shit over and over again. there is no variety left anymore.
half naked men are totally fine but breasts are forbidden

she also got a magic breast reduction.
comic really go out of their way to exclusively pander to feminists

Attached: white rabbit.jpg (405x837, 76K)

There's plenty of cleavage and decent sized breasts at DC at least. Swapping out the corset and panties for a strip club costume is hardly the most prudish thing around. She's just as slutty looking as before.

Based sjw panders to my dick.

but modern comics are 100% racist towards white men. looking at the twitter account for most writers it´s not even like they hide that fact.
I can guarantee most writers spent most of the time writing not thinking about making a good story but ways to replace white male charactes or make them seem worse then black and female heroes. that´s also why every white women in comics nowadays only dates black men.
can´t really blame people from complaining about their hobbies getting ruined for political reasons

>There's plenty of cleavage and decent sized breasts at DC at least.
name 5 comics that are similar to how comics used to be pre sjw take over

Attached: catwoman new 52.jpg (234x215, 13K)

You at least have something of a point, but given how inconsistent things like breast size can be and unlike manga and anime which tend give girls canon measurements, I pretty sure dc doesn't, I'm not up in arms.

>inconsistent things like breast size can be
it´s not like every single female character in comics has gone through the same breast reduction during the last 5 years.
just compare old starfire, zatanna, wonder woman, batgirl, black canary ... or pretty much every female character
they all got breast reductions as well as new sjw costumes that cover up their cleavage and overall body

Attached: starfire new 52.jpg (480x360, 37K)

Define take over. Marvel has had a problem with prudishness since Captain Carol in 2011. When do you think DC's began? In any case, I'm hard pressed to think of any prudish redesigns at DC on the level of Captain Carol.

>When do you think DC's began?
2014 when the new sjw approved costumes got shown and all female characters breast magically got reduced.
also around that time every comic started to have feminists messages about how much white men suck.
I am still waiting on that list of comics which are apparently full of cleavage outfits and big breasted women.

>I'm hard pressed to think of any prudish redesigns at DC on the level of Captain Carol.
how about this one?
also how much comics do you read. honest question because for me every female character at both dc and marvel has been more ore less the same like Carlos. marie sues with no flaws who are better then male heroes at everything.
I mean harley quinn easily defeats booster gold, catwoman can defeat 3 flashes at once, that amazon chick form outlaws constantly get´s show to be stronger and smarter then every male character she meets.
really I would be hard pressed to find a single male hero who is shown to be smarter and stronger then a female one.
I mean read the discribiotn for the new batgirl comic. goes out of it´s way to say that "batgirl is the smartest" and that the "villian is the one who should be afraid of her"
normally the hero is supposed to be the underdog and the villain this dangerous imposing force, not the other way around.
but women I guess are just perfect at everything

nice
I'm getting this

Lee lost all his integrity and Ellis is a hack

Oh shit! I've been waiting for this for so long!

Jason is past Robin since he died and his personal grudge with Batman was never that he wasn't or couldn't be Robin anymore. You want an edgelord user, but past UTRH Jason is pretty much a violent anti-edgelord.

Those aren't costume redesigns. Those are examples of bad writing.

Potentially dumb question, but why is Lex in every book?

Same here. It’s fucking tragic how DC has completely ruined their big character comics. Coincidentally right when their movies are getting better.

Jesus fuck. Nu52 was a shitshow.

Lex has gotten cosmic wish granting powers or something in JL and is playing Neron or something.

>why is Artemis, Wonder Woman's anime rival shown to be strong?
>why is Batgirl, a high level computer scientist shown to be smart?
Why the fuck is being a retarded casual not a bannable offense? For fucks sake.

No

Imagine if it were some master keikaku to make all their big books shit so people read and appreciate their more obscure heroes.

Who cares?

To be somewhat fair, Artemis is stronger and tougher than everyone in Outlaws, because she mostly hangs around with mortals. Mind-controlled Bizzarro was easily a match for her. And he was holding back.

The others I'm inclined to agree on. Especially Harley, who got stupid plot powers now.

Nice cover

there have already been several sjw costume redesigns in this thread.
you also haven´t countered any of the other points

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Let Kent be fucking Fate, you mongrels.

>posting a non-canon digital series as the definitive example of "modern comics"
That wasn't the New 52 run. It was "Sensation Comics featuring Wonder Woman."
The writer hasn't worked in the industry since.

Does PG have elf ears on this pic?

Let's actually go evaluate some current dc heroine designs
Wonder Woman: the only change to her costume in recent years is the addition of the Xena style skirt.
Supergirl: The blouse and skirt she's wearing is appropriately classic. I'm sorry if you preferred the teen slut versions of Kara, but there's nothing wrong with her current costume.
Batgirl: Batfamily women in general have always favored full body costumes.
Black Canary: Jacket, corset, and fishnets. Nothing wrong here.
Zatanna: I'm not a fan of her wearing leather pants , but at the same time those leather pants are pretty tight. And she appeared in her classic stockings in doomsday clock and on that superhero girls cartoon. So it's probably just artist/writer preference and not part of any agenda.
Power Girl is on hold until the JSA gets brought back, so she's only appeared in group shots cameos and in guest appearances in Harley Quinn, but she's still got nice breasts and the boob hole in those appearances. We'll see more of her once the JSA aren't locked down.

>shorts fishnets BC is the same as leotard fishnets BC

It feels less like an attempt to placate feminist prudes and more like they're trying for a realistic "streetwalker" aesthetic.

>cus its not enough to make a racebender version of popular character to actually make it interesting
But's that not what I'm talking about, I'm talking the knee jerk reaction where the worst thing a writer can do apparently is add more black people.

And much hate. It baffles me how Sean Gordon Murphy caught on with normies so fast. Even his godawful Batgirl revamp is being pushed everywhere.

Where is this vitriol for Duke even coming from? You can count how often duke has showed up in the comics on one hand.

>just compare old starfire, zatanna, wonder woman, batgirl, black canary ... or pretty much every female character
I bet if we did it would show...absolutely nothing. There is no design notes that says big tits or small tits, just your perception and sensitivity.

not him but Duke is fucking boring and barely created in the Snyder's run of course many people hate him besides he's blunt marketing

>not him but Duke is fucking boring and barely created in the Snyder's run of course many people hate him besides he's blunt marketing
Many people do not hate him, just Yea Forums and it's unapologetic racism.

But like I said, there's no actual push to duke and I would be hard pressed to believe all this hate is because he's "boring" either because he's hardly shows up in the comics.

They could have done literally anything else to get Dick out of the way for King's bullshit. They could have sent him out on some far-flung space adventure with the Titans. They could have sent him deep cover back into the spy game. They could have ignored heroes in crisis and had him and wally go on a buddy adventure using the time treadmill. They could have done literally anything other than "Team Nightwing".

But somehow sales for February were identical to sales a year ago, so what does plot matter?

>Batman is in 80% of the books

Would fit Bendis' MO of not knowing anything about any character he chooses to write.

Marketing is annoying and you're right, most people don't hate him, they just ignore him, anons on Yea Forums or people in real life

not now but the pushing occurred and if you remember they gave him his own comic but nobody bought it, they pushed but not right now though they could try again

Same as usual then.

They just gave him a mini, and yes, I forgot. Same with the rest of the world. You, however, remember. Because you're a racist.

I think people who complain about being racists are in fact racists.

This bit o' outrage is particularly funny seeing how the last time Yea Forums had a thread about white rabbit it was almost unanimously agreed that her costume was the worst and creatively sterile.
>but her tits!
Firstly it's a background shot and secondly they still look big.

>Yea Forumsmblr is full of cuck
no shit sherlock. ever wondered why this board is so dead?

>I bet
wow so you are just gonna deny reality like liberals always do?

so your argument is "sjws costumes totally are not sjw costumes" even through one just has to look at the old vs the new comics and sexy that women all have been purposefully censored up to show less skin and be drawn with smaller breasts?

They were always here and always been shit. Rebirth was so bad that Jurgens was agreed upon as a master of the medium.

Did you ever gave a shit about white rabbit up to this point?

I bet the only thing he likes about Duke is that he's black

actually yes. I liked the fact she was a speed character without being a speed character.
also the fact that how she had her secret identity hidden made her a cool match for a detective like batman

Nobody cares about Duke except you racists.

absolutely based

Nope I hate him and I'm black. He's a non character desu.

Zatanna's costume is the only one on the list that sucks you cuck, calm down

>no word about Azzerello on Suicide Squad
Well shit....

Nancy Collins run is super comfy normie fodder and pretty much the only good run to come out of the book post-Moore.

No, it will be Katma Tui. She's the last bit of GL lore that hasn't been fully restored and I can see Morrison using the annual to tease her resurrection, so as to ensure his run actually fucking matters in the overall lore as opposed to being 100% skippable.

Either that or it's Arisa and Morrison's been tasked to retcon and retcon hard Englehart's infamous "Hal fucks a teenager and we have to pull a halfassed "Arisa's planet has different standards of time so Arisa's actually an adult in human years but a teen in her peoples years" reveal to unfuck ourselves making Hal a pedophile" storyline since it's one of the few things Johns never got around to do in his run

He's a Christopher Priest creation and DC fucking hates him. Especially since fans immediately after Emerald Twilight, kept pushing the idea of him being the "out" to explain why Hal suddenly went evil (since Hal was using his power ring from 1988-1994, which was part of an unrevealed plan of his).

So is this the "work-around" for no more Silver Age/Bronze Age TPBs?

Also:

Wildcats is a split fandom: half the fandom wants the original 90s team that embodied the Image excesses snobbish hipster scum fans revile (but loved by casuals, nerds, and reviewers like D&C). The other half (IE the hipsters) only like Grifter, a version of Spartan that is a complete doped up zombie yuppie who hates heroing and only cares about soulless CEO stuff and making money, Ladytron the cyborg manic pixie dreamgirl for snotty elitist types who normally hate the Manic pixie dreamgirl trope, and Agent Wax the dashing rapist all SJWs chicks secretly wish would rape them. These fags only liked Wildcats when it's written by Joe Casey and Casey's got Spartan obsessing over boring ass CEO shit and Grifter being a layabout who never does anything but whine about how time has moved on/made him irrelevant.

Gen13 is just too fucking problematic with it's fan service, lipstick lesbians, and that Fairchild basically is your prototypical alt right MAGA hat wearing hot chick the ugly female incels wish would get acid thrown on them since guys want women like her and not ugly fat hambeasts and sexually mutilated trans "women" who can't pass as female.

And Authority is baby's first edgelord book that is irrevocably tied to the late 90s/pre-911 early 00s. And the book can't even do half the shit it did back in the days, since liberals using the Authority to put their anti-Republican revenge fantasies into print. What with how the book de-evolved into then-Wildstorm editor John "Hang Donald Trump from a cherry tree" Layman demanding the book murder George W Bush TWICE: first after Bush got elected and second, after he got re-elected.

Malvolio's backstory was seen in the Green Lanterns: Sleepers novel trilogy, mostly the second novel. :)

>Fairchild basically is your prototypical alt right MAGA hat wearing hot chick
Pathetic.

Ah, crabs in a bucket. Typical.

This sums it up, perhaps the only person in comics who cares less about Wildstorm than Warren Ellis is Jim Lee and they're the two people in most direct control of its fate.

It's not really even true, she was conservative compared to Sarah maybe but literally anyone would be

This is also the introduction of pre-COIE Jason Todd, for those who are curious.

Call me a racist or whatever (yeah, I know I am), but the second I saw it was Superman protecting an all white family on the cover I fucking knew this one wasn't by Bendis. No way would he have let that fly.

It is by Bendis though.

all I want is Gen13

As I said, most of writers oc are poorly written diversity characters. So this is why there is where hate comes from.

It might be. There are fewer "Book title : #" in the recent solicitations.
It makes sense. Random bookstore shoppers are more likely to buy something without a "#" attached to it because it can be sold as a full story.
Trades have heavy attrition too, just like single issues. The first one might sell 8K, but the second could fall to 5K

Earth has too many Lanterns as it is.

do people outside of Yea Forums like bendis?

I'll just pick up Flash and Shazam and call it a day. I'm so sick of Bendis, Snyder, Batman, etc.

Excited to finally read this! Derington's art is amazing and perfect for Batman.

bump

I don't want to understand it but apparently they do

It will be. Didio DC fucking loves lamp shading the hell out things.

DC has been recycling the same handful of Batman plots for a couple decades now.

>As if that weren’t enough, Lex Luthor delivers the cure for Mr. Freeze’s beloved wife, Nora, freeing her from cryo-stasis at last! But something else is very, very wrong with Nora…

LAZARA™ RETURNS!
