Jeezus
108 issues
Guess they don't call it "Saga" for nuthin', ha ha!
Everything after the first story arc is a downward spiral that hasnt and will not be improved.
How many minor characters do you think they've killed off by now?
Stopped following after the hippie grass alien chick burned to death.
>How many minor characters do you think they've killed off by now?
You know... forget everything, BKV is actually perfect for the Gundam movie.
how do people like this? Despite all of Yea Forums warnings I tried to read this shit and couldn't get to the end of the first volume
I don't know, people like different things. Crazy, huh?
>BKV wrote for LOST
>108 issues
What does it MEAN? And did something important happen in issues 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42?
True, and it makes me sad.
Reminder: You can just not read it.
Isn't that a symbolic number?
>108 issues
>A shitton of stuff happened, people die left and right
>It still feels like fucking nothing happened ever since the first arc
I fucking hate Saga and i fucking hate myself for starting to read this shit and feeling like i have the obligation to continue reading it just because i already sank so much of my time reading this
fucking Vaughan
You got MMO'd
>People like cheap deaths
>people
It was never good.
>It still feels like fucking nothing happened ever since the first arc
Probably because in the first issue Hazel tells us she doesn't end the war or grow up to become a great leader (in fact the war is probably still going on by the time she's telling this story) or anyone important in general, so the whole story is just "who is trying to kill them this month?".
Every arc goes:
>they're traveling and being chased by someone
>they find a relatively safe place and settle down for a few months/years
>person who is chasing them catches up to them, but then some other bad guy shows up or some calamitous event happens that forces them to leave
>lots of people die
>original villain either dies or becomes their friend
>they pack up and move
>rinse and repeat
It would've been a cliche but Hazel playing some part in the end of the war would've been better than this. We know absolutely nothing is going to happen to her or Squire and now that Marko's dead now it's just a matter of waiting for Alana to kick it.
Well, they do. That's what a lot of drama TV coasts off.
>>implying People don't like cheap deaths
Nigger, do you even GoTs? How about Walking Dead?
Not exactly the most daring and unique take in Yea Forums
90 issues too many tbqh fampai
Yeah, it just feels bloated for no reason. It's not like they're building a fascinating universe that deserves to be explored, it's pretty obvious they're just making up wacky shit as they go along.
>but Hazel playing some part in the end of the war would've been better than this.
every one trying to kill them seems to think she will.
I still like Saga and I legitimately think you guys don't get when Vaughan is veering into Satire.
Example?
It seems like it's just plain awful, I don't know how anyone likes it at all.
The transgender character isn't a loving endorsement of sjw shit. She's a parody of their annoying harping, much like Gert was in Runaways. Vaughan leans left, but I think it's clear the lefts current insanity rankle him too.
The narration in the first issue already debunked this possibility
Is my husbendo Prince Robot still alive?
Which is really just one of the vapid excuses for there to even be a runaway plot in the first place. Honestly nobody would give a shit if something like that happened in the real world during wartime. If a Nazi foot soldier and a Jew got together everyone would just think they're traitors to their respective factions and not part of some grand conspiracy.
:)
...Oh user.
>hi finally got his revenge
War is not bad, but i like Robot more. Oh well.
I'm going to say it: the artwork for this comic SUCKS. And Fiona Staples isn't a bad artist, but it's clear she can't work on too much at once. The lines are great, but there's fuck all for backgrounds, and when there are backgrounds it's this faded out deviantart looking shite that honestly if I didn't know what I was reading would make me think it was a webcomic. Monstress also gives me this feeling.
Then you've got the shots. Almost every single shot is a close shot of whoever is speaking. She draws the simplest and easiest shit to draw in every situation. Maybe this is how it's scripted, I don't know, but it's fucking lazy and BORING. No/shit backgrounds + the easiest camera shots available = I can only assume she can't handle the workload. Her work on the first three issues of the Archie reboot are a lot better than this crap. And Saga receives plaudits out the ass over its artwork. I don't get it.
NOOOOOOOO
The covers are great, the actual art inside the book not so much
The covers are excellent. The character and locale designs are very creative. I will give credit where its due. But that's all the praise I can give it.
Backgrounds and different camera shots mean a lot to me and Saga is as lazy as a comic can be in regards to those two areas. This comic releases plaudits out the ass for both writing and art. Eisner for best series FOUR times, and best art TWICE. And last years best series was Monstress. Either I'm dangerously out of touch or the people who vote for these Eisner's have lost all reference points. Fraction's Iron Man winning an Eisner is looking pretty credible all of a sudden.
receives plaudits*
I'm gonna have to agree the art is pretty bland
The only people I know who read this are women and faggots. What's the appeal?
You don't know any women, faggots, or comic book readers.
i only thit there were 52 issues
