I made a comic based on the Welsh Arthurian tale Chlwich and Olwen that's served as all right /ss/ fuel.
The Chlwich character is somewhere from 7 to 12 at the begining of the tale and meets Olwen about a year later and she's both a giants daughter and at least 24 years old, as Chlwich's 23 cousins died lusting after her. Unfortunately the rest of the tale doesnt feature the two character interacting after a breif meeting where they hit it off.
And there isn't a real adaptation anywhere, so my comic lewds are all there is to it.

Aside from the /ss/ posting, here's a real answer:

>Most cartoons with a self-insert male protagonist feature an older mentor character
>Older male mentors are seen as a tired and outdated trope a la Leave it to Beaver
>Strong female characters in kids cartoons become popular in the 90s
>Cartoon creators are still mostly male and feel uncomfortable writing a female protagonist, so the strong female character is relegated to a side character role
>The idea of an older male mentor for a younger girl is (unfairly) seen as predatory/patronizing
I have to say as a young girl these characters put a lot of pressure on me. I didn't feel ready to be a mentor yet and I would like to see more cartoons with a female protagonist who is fallable and imperfect and maybe even guided by an older male. Braceface did this pretty well despite being a mediocre and forgettable show.
