Nobody will ever love you and you are worth nothing kill yourself piece of shit
Damn dude
Someone is upset
Because I gave it to them, motherfucker
Their methods of communication are comparable to humans. They're effectively immortal from what we can see, and while they live in a strict hierarchical system, not unlike our own society, they find ways to express their want of closeness with one another, like through fusion. There's different kinds of love and levels of intimacy. I think one of the bigger themes the show pushes is the concept of self-love.
It’s more the case I thought creatures needed to be sexual beings to feel love since humans and animals survive through breeding and building families
Gems don’t have sex so the concept of love seems pointless for them as a species
Gems have a concept of fusion that is a default part of their physiology and it feels very good when you do it with the one you love.
that's probably why that form of love is heavily discouraged in their society, because they believe it to be pointless.
They don't.
In terms of the species what is the benefit of fusion feeling good? I understand that’s it a way for weaker gems to become stronger but I don’t don’t the benefit in it feeling good
The fusion feels only as good as the actual relationship between the gems in question is. If the fusion feels good, that means the components will be more likely to stay together, meaning the fusion will be strong and stable. A stable fusion will less likely get unfused due to internal and external factors.
I haven't been keeping up with the show for a long time now, but as far as I've seem they only understand the concept of obsession.
With the good old murdercock
They don't, they only understand primal urges such as infatuation, desire, and addiction. That's the whole point of the song "Love Like You" which is all about Rose trying to comprehend the sutble nuances of human love such as compassion, selflessness, and compromise. Compare that to pearl who is just plain fucking addicted to and contact with rose that she'd run head first into harm for a chance at it and Garnet who is the literal Avatar of two people's unhealthy dependence on one another.
much as i wish the show was that smart, ruby and sapphire are indeed supposed to be in true actual love.
its a poorly concept show , with not very good writers .
Irony.
Apparently (according to Rebecca) that was the only way they were even allowed to be gay - if they were a super lovey dovery nice couple. Funnily enough they've fought more than any hetero couple on the show so I guess it balances out.
Based, came in this thread purely for this
They're just adicted to the creepy sex metaphor.
user humans too have a hard time figuring out exactly what love is
Just look at the romantic canon of the human race, it’s weird as fuck and all over the place, there’s also different kinds of love, maternal, fraternal, platonic, romantic
Even if it’s a human invention love it’s hard to understand unless you experience it
They don't, they understand manipulation , power abuse and toxic codependence like all women do. Only men understand love.
UNDERSTAND UNDERSTAND
UNDERSTAND UNDERSTAND
UNDERSTAND UNDERSTAND
THE CONCEPT OF LOVE
UGH!
How do gems understand the concept of pedophilia?
gems are artificial/inorganic. AI.
Consent is probably an interesting topic they've discussed and can further explore.
I haven't seen the show but irrational loyalty seems like an easy concept to grasp. Our culture had adult BFFs but it seems to have just outmoded it for some reason in the 40s

=(
How do humans?
Explain what love is to someone who has never experienced it.
'Irrational loyalty'
What causes this irrational loyalty?
Boners and wet bits.
See, now that suggests you think lust and love are the same thing.
What is love?
What is free love?
What is love?
You know I love the ladies
Love to have my fun
I'm a high life flyer and a rainbow rider
A straight shootin' son-of-a-gun
define artificial, you could argue humans are organic machines with brain being the cpu
Well, they were clearly fabricated. Minerals (dear god Marie) do not spontaneously develop consciousness, the chemical side does not lend itself to that.
But yes, it is arguable that humans are organic machines - we're like cars made out of spaghetti and meatballs that, mirabile dictu, can actually ride, albeit at only about a half mile an hour.

Love is a mental state that causes one's well-being to be psychologically contingent on another being's well-being.
I don’t like throwing the word around, but getting incel vibes
BABY DON'T HURT ME
Either that or he's an ancient Greek.
He does sound like he hates women, but in the context of this show he's not wrong. Tell me a single gem who isn't shown being a pice of shit, mentally ill, or a degenerate.
Peridot.
Both Zircons.
based, show Yea Forumsmblrites the true power of hate.
You go do it, you lazy bum
I think that the gems are not as much fabricated as grown as plants. I mean, you put the diamond fluid/seed into the ground, and the gem grows up as it feeds on the life/nutrients in the ground.
Uh...have sex?
UNDERSTAND, UNDERSTAND
UNDERSTAND, UNDERSTAND
UNDER STAND, UNDERSTAND. THE CONCEPT
THE CONCEPT
OF LOVE
Nanomachines. But I mean that they don't naturally develop life the way organic molecules did.
Also plants are organic.
Just sayin'.
Gems are born not in a factory, but in a garden.
No. Wherever a gem falls in love with another gem, it's shown to be unhealthy codependency. Only RQ understood love because she received the magnificent Thundercock™
It's very simple user, because despite her reputation, Sugar is a super straight fan of Disney's princesses and she created Lapis Lazuli after Jasmine's character. (Pink Diamond is probably Ariel)
And as we know... princesses have a weakness for men, that's why Gems love humans.
They were created to be sex slaves
NO E heh, heh
You sell fish
came here just to post this
Don't tell me how to live my life.
If you've never felt a deep love for anything but who you want to fuck, then I feel sorry for you.
There are asexual people who fall in love irl.
But maybe their species originated in a factory. Of course nanomachines are their own factories.
>They were created to be sex slaves
That's my cue...
>don’t have sex so the concept of love seems pointless
I am trying to wrap my head around the implications of your remark for your life and it makes me deeply sad.
