EP1 and I don't really see this spectacular writing you guys are talking about, the dialogue is pretty standard cartoon dialogue but oddly paced with an awkward timing between the lines. The rendering is nice and the racing parts look mostly great but the character animation is unbearably stiff, both in faces and bodies.
Character designs like the owl dude and the news anchors look fantastic, but the more "handsome" designs like the male MC are uncanny trash and there's a whole lot of default models that look like this.
This is all due to budget limitations but damn, I've never seen such huge quality swings in a piece of media. It's clearly got some passion in it but ehhhhh, I dunno. I'll give it a few more episodes.

I like the cars. Car sequences are really well done, this sequence with the magma looks great. Character animation seems a bit more fluid as well but maybe it's just my impression.

I think ships really should be a fan only thing. Shows like Avatar or Voltron try to do that sort of thing and it does not work well.

I really do like that there are textures now. Before it's been almost a cell shaded look. It reminds me of that paradigm in animation where you either had good texture details or it was animated well... or you have a multithousand dollar rendering farm powered by Laisiter's lack of respect for personal space.

I am sad to admit I am excited about that. There is something in the show they added and I want to know it. My guess is somewhere Enzo Ferrari is in the background.

Dreamworks knows how to market and synergize. They also have the funds to refine a product. Although it's complicated since DW doesn't make the netflix shows, they contract it out. They can make a brand and then build on it for years. RR obvious is going to have to hold out and build that audience, which helps by being on Netflix.

Talking Tom doesn't seem popular despite the views. Million views, absolutely no one cares or remembers the show.

they first mention of the show was in 2015, someone posted the "meet the racers" videos, and people just shrugged, the show had it's premiere on malaysian television, but it didnt get much following

fast forward to february 2017, show was mentioned again, some user found access to voot.com, an indonesian site with the show, and he ripped it for us, we found a gem!

meanwhile creators noticed people noticed their show on Yea Forums, they finally felt happy someone appreciated their work.

they were working on s2 at that time, they felt so generous they uploaded lots of stuff to their facebook: concept art, sample tracks, videos, storyboard, tiny comics,reasonable fanart they could find.

they uploaded s1 to youtube, but it was taken down very fast because yt algorythm thought it was spam.

sunday streams of s2 were in hd, so i assume s1 was aired on malay tv in hd too. except on channels we dont have access to, and in malay.

The show had zero marketing outside of Malaysia plus it's too convoluted for the bracket it's been put in by Malay channels. Youtube killing their channel didn't help either.
It also has pretty amateurish animation so it didn't attract animation nerds, and it looks pretty toyetic with all the bright colored funny animals and cars, so that scared off a good bunch of people too. I honestly had my expectations very low when getting into this show.

The studio team has been disbanded around a year ago or so, it's being put on Netflix by the Glue Studios which is basically a skeleton crew IP holder. Unlikely will get any merch or a DVD, or anything.
It's sort of a pyrrhic victory, plus no one really knows for sure what's the status of S2 finale.

From what I've heard they would be happy to continue, however they apparently had problems with Tariq who mismanaged the whole thing. The project folded in the first place because they ran out of money. It's funny that they had multiple potential sources of extra income for the project (patreon, merch, crowdfunding) which were discussed, but none of that happened. Based Tariq.

Can't you file a preventive document that says that you are the owner of the televised media? I doubt that if a popular singer opens a YT channel and uploads his music he has to go through the same process.

Google most likely is employing bots that use machine leaning. The problem with machine learning algorithms is that past some level of complexity they turn into a complete black box, not even Google can tell how it works now.

The only thing they do can do tweak "confidence levels", usually setting them very high for unpopular channels because they bring in no money and disabling the bot completely for popular mainstream channels with millions of subscribers. Rimba Racer channel had like what, under thousand of subscribers back then, it getting deleted is basically an acceptable casualty for youtube's automoderation algorithm.

those are just feminine colors. Tough girl with a fuchsia/pink accent is a common design trope. Also she has a punk rock aesthetic with the mohawk and all. They probably went with a more delicate pink because a higher chroma color like in would have taken attention away from the face (at least that's what I think).
