Just look at him, trying desperately to keep his cool in a terrifying situation.

Where there drummerboys this young irl?
I like the relationship the Ssaelit (or at least Duane who is super religous) has with Ssael. They want to prove themselves to him, want to show they can do it all on their own. They don't say God will help us, they say God is watching, so we better do it right. Another prayer Duane has said on occasion "Ssael, help me to not disappoint you." Calling upon Ssael for aid, but only to live up to the standards Ssael has set.
Check out Kipling's *Drums of the Fore and Aft*.
>"...two fourteen-year-old drummer-boys
No, I mean Argenti's age, he doesn't seem older than 7.
God is not and has never been a slot machine that accepts prayer tokens in return for the chance of a miraculous jackpot and the teaching to the contrary is a failure on the part of all who would say He is.
I've been wanting to comment on how attractive Silver Commander is but I'm scared I'll jinx it and he'll die sooner
I love Duane Adelier so much.
Is he a silver or a bronze?
>bronze
>leading an army
>being called "sir" by a Jet
Unless I'm crazy, no. Does anyone have a good reference pic of what bronze hair and skin are like?
Isn’t Roger a bronze?
He's a Copper.
Coppers are hard to mistake for anything else
They look disgustingly average.
Yeah, Coppers and Plats are the weirdest looking. I guess it's fitting since they're at the far ends of the spectrum. Coppers look dark with life-blood and plats look like, drained of it.
>tfw went back just to look for bronzes in Durlyne and I'm experiencing the heartbreak of Duane and soud cinnamon roll's demise all over again
Some of Duane’s plats should still be alive by the time he gets to Alderode, they should be around Quigley’s age right?
The oldest any of them could be is ten, and those would be in the process of dying by the present
Younger ones could be still kicking but still getting on in plat-years. A cruel world
If anyone is still alive, it's probably the youngest of them
Jon is totally dead, he looked to be in his late teens. The rest of them seem to be in the age range of 7 to 13 so a couple of them are totally either dying or dead. Knowing Cope Duane will probably get to watch some of his plat kids deteriorate as their organs rapidly fail.
>remember how we handle line-mines
Push the silvers up front?
Silvers are bros
Bronze are literally cannon fodder
That makes more sense Ssaelits since their holy book presumably isn't full of stories contrary to that point.
@106958200
>It's a 'fedora scholar teaches the true meaning of ancient religious texts' episode
No (you) this time
I wonder what turn of event made them call those traps land-mines. 'Land-mine' the word came to be from back in the day when armies have to dig under castles' walls, the defenders had to dig counter tunnels then blow them up. Someone realize just having a bunch of Black powder in a hole ready to blow would be an amazing trap so they started calling them after what you do to attacker's tunnels.
So did they guys used to flood tunnels with that red stuff to stop invaders from digging under them then someone realize it would make an amazing trap?
>they're all exaggeratedly pale even though many alds have dark skin because it emphasizes their difference from Crescians
A nice attention to detail in propaganda.
You don't have to get upset. I'm not the one who brought up real life religion in the first place.
I'm pleasantly surprised by Duane's attitude too but I know the moment we get into Aldish politics proper the Schusters and con-artists are going to bloom like roses in the morning dew
I'm guessing it's
>walk forward
>step on a landmine
>hope you can counterspell it fast enough to not explode
>repeat
Of course but that also means we'll get to see Duane punch-out more politicians.
They're called line mines so presumably you have to have wrights meticulously checking for Khert lines and then sweeping those for whatever keeps the pymary hidden from normie eyes
I love how Duane repeatedly is as great as everyone thinks he is. There's something legendary and heroic about him, even in the present time when he's a zombie. He's really pretty extraordinary.
At the same time, he's pretty down to earth and fallible. He's not very cool either. He has stupid hair, dresses badly, and gets made fun of by others because he talks like a fucking dweeb. Still, he doesn't let it get to him. His faith keeps him going, or something.
His brother is comparably impressive, dancing around slicing up hippo sized boars, not to mention other soldiers
The panel of Duane walking in front is kino though
Yeah, but that's how it so often is with great men. They've got a thousand things about them that seem weak and enfeebling, but when the time is right they muster themselves and remind the rest of us why they're so great.
We can't even see Lem after the first panel
>inb4 too shellshocked to move and gets left behind
I was worried about the cut on his face last page, something seems lodged in his head. He lives later though so he’ll be fine, right? Since he was around for the murders
No, despite him clearly being alive in the future, he will not survive this chapter
Oh my god he was actually a plod this whole time
>something seems lodged in his head
One of the victim's teeth if you look close
It was one of Teeth's teeth
You can see the scar it left in the flashback chapter
Younger. War is Hell.
>Some of Duane’s plats should still be alive
Cope reads these threads, don't tempt her.
Silvers are very striking, but in a good way.
Like straight up Alderode would be perfect if you got rid of all the trash castes and just had Golds and Silvers broing it up together with Plats doing their own shit up north or something
Cope: I've created an authoritarian spy state with an in-built magical caste system that is xenophobic and chauvanistic. What do you guys think?
Fans: Pretty good, but could use more ethnic cleansing. Gotta get rid of those uggo castes.
t. Jet
The copper are cool though, imagine how much a good copper writer or musician or artist can do in 400 years
This kind of society needs lesser castes to function so unless you’re on the bottom you can always take out your frustration on someone.
>"Is anyone harmed" Duane asks while someone behind him is screaming in pain from having his arm entirely stripped of flesh
Made me chuckle
hopefully this strategy means they will all have to remove their shoes and walk barefoot
His first priority is his lads, everyone else is secondary.
imagine the smell haha
I have no explanation about the "mine" part, but wanted to point out that these are actually called "line mines" in the comic. This is presumably because they use Khert lines to operate, like most pymary.
Then again, isn't this flashback a story he is telling from his perspective to a lizard at the moment?
Just started reading. Does the author have an endpoint in mind to this comic? Are we less than a quarter of the way through?
The answers to your questions are, respectively, yes and approximately. The overall plot of the story has been planned from the beginning, though Ashley will only describe the planned ending as "satisfying." And she said about 1 chapter back that we were around 3/4 of the way done with book 1 of 3.
Too bad they’re all cannibalisitc geffie scum.
We got one hell of a long ride to go.
if there's any author out there who has the entire plot to their story down to the smallest detail written all over their walls and furniture like a schizophrenic patient in his cell it's ashley cope
Unsounded is more like a series of fantasy books than one single graphic novel. We're 2/3 of the way through the first book but even within that book there have been arcs that have begun and concluded. I think she could have declared the first book done after the river town arc ended in chapter 10.
>Those paragraphs of responses she wrote about her stance on Minnow’s pubic hair.
>Minnow’s pubic hair.
I wonder if it matches her own
Don't lewd the author you degenerate
Weird you would mention that just after I finished reading about aldish pubic hair trimming practices on the wiki
Minnow's going straight to Ssaelit hell.
I'm sure Duane could set her straight if needed
More than 2/3, I think there's only 2 chapters left after this one, maybe just one, so Book 1 is ending pretty soon!
There's the whole eyebrow-raising bit where he literally believes god talks to him.
Yeah, but wasn't that after he suffered a serious concussion as a child? He's just got a bit of brain damage, I think that's endearing.
I absolutely refuse to believe that won't be relevant at some point. I don't believe it is Ssael, but rather titty bird is connected to it in some way
I mean the whole comic is in english if you didn't notice
>Minnow's going straight to Ssaelit hell.
Considering that she's a water woman, she'd be right at home.
Honestly compared to the other webcomics on here like Ava's Demon the lore isn't really that interesting. There's way to much of it and it's cluttered as fuck. At least AD is easy to follow.
Don't go for it people, we're better than this
Ava's Demon is for tumblr tweens and I'm glad they have it, but I find it dull as fuck. Regardless, there can be more than one good webcomic in the world. It's not a contest, bro.
Sorry, I'm not that strong.
It is a flashback, but we're not getting his edited-for-lizards/kids/lizard-kids version of it; we're seeing it as it happened.
And due to his memories being the proper Khert versions (with his fleshy brain out of commission,) he can't delude himself about the events of his past, so he cannot accidentally be a factually-unreliable narrator.
Unless he consciously lies but we all know Duane is bad at lying, even when he tries. He is too pure.
Don't make the mistake of thinking all the bullshit that people talk about outside of the comic is important. It makes the lore seem a lot more overwhelming than it is. The shit IN the comic that's relevant is all presented clearly and competently.
It's like thinking you need to memorize a whole library of D&D sourcebooks in order to read a Drizzt novel, or the Silmarillion in order to read The Hobbit. Nah.
And if you don't know what those things all are you're probably a brainlet who doesn't read decent fantasy anyway so go eat a dick.
i mean i agree with you but talking about d&d books and the silmarillion as if they're obscure literature gems that only true literature connoisseurs know about makes you sound like a fucking idiot
>And due to his memories being the proper Khert versions (with his fleshy brain out of commission,) he can't delude himself about the events of his past, so he cannot accidentally be a factually-unreliable narrator.
I don't remember reading about that in particular. Was it something Cope said outside the comic or did I just miss a page?
I said fantasy, not literature. Most fantasy scores pretty low on the fine literature tier. But I can't imagine being able to appreciate Unsounded if you don't have some kind of background in reading high fantasy.
Outside the comic. I doubt it comes into play in the comic itself, or it would have already been introduced. You need to understand what the crazily devoutly religious are like, man. They take their own internal monologue and their own feels as being actually god talking to them.
I would guarantee that's what it is with Duane.
>I can't imagine being able to appreciate Unsounded if you don't have some kind of background in reading high fantasy.
What? How?
You have that completely backward. If somebody has never read fantasy before, the fact that they enjoy Unsounded means they would probably enjoy it if they tried reading some.
>They take their own internal monologue and their own feels as being actually god talking to them
>implying your own internal monologue isn't a part of how God talks to you
See? user demonstrates.
You're having an awful good giggle when Ssael and the God's both exist in canon.
>"Ssael, help me to not disappoint you." Calling upon Ssael for aid, but only to live up to the standards Ssael has set.
I've asked the same of Jesus. I think it has always been like that, to ask the Lord to grant us strength so that we may be the good people He knows we can be.
You literally can't disappoint Jesus though. He's omniscient, and already knows if you're going to fuck up or not. I'm not even sure why Jesus would pay any attention to us or to the world when he knows how it's all going to go down already.
Yes they're as real as your paper god
I kinda wish we could see what the edited safe for lizard/kid version is like. Considering he is telling the story to a geffie I wonder how tactful he is about her people
>Considering he is telling the story to a geffie I wonder how tactful he is about her people
If his actions immediately prior to the flashback are any sign, he's not being tactful at all.
Given how zealous he is, I don't even think he's capable of it.
But she is also a child and you know how well he treats them
Younger boys shot men in the American revolution
>I'm not even sure why Jesus would pay any attention to us or to the world when he knows how it's all going to go down already
There's reading a box score and then there's being at the game.
Beating them up you mean? He also hit the Crescian girl
Yeah but he was crazy during it and she ran into his fist also that picture was like immediately after he was betrayed
>omniscient
No, He's not. Plus free will exists, given to us by God.
>>omniscient
>No, He's not.
Fucking heretic
Gentleanon's please! Can't we just agree Muhammad was a lying pedophile bandit? As user's of good conscience can't we at least do that?
Only if you agree Jesus was a schizophrenic jew
He's only told to be all knowing to children in the same vein as Santa, He isn't actually all knowing.
I'll agree to that if you agree Jesus was a schizophrenic jew and the human embodiment of God who is completely real
I don't think he was schizo, just another wandering John the Baptist or Gautama or Mr. Rogers. But then a game of telephone happened as a bunch of people told the story to each other over the next fifty years, exaggerating it in all kinds of contradictory ways, and it got weirder and weirder. Elements were borrowed from other belief systems and slid in there to make him sound more impressive, and now two-thousand years later we look back at a bunch of other humans' tall tales and grand them special immunity from scrutiny because they make the idea of dying less scary. Or some shit.
But arguing religion on the internet is about as pointless as your mother's dick, so let's get back to talking about how sexy Sette's feet are.
>how sexy Sette's feet are.
fuck off starfish
If she didn't want me masturbating to her feet she'd put some shoes on. It's not my fault.
>Ava’s Demon
>Interesting Lore
You guys ever think maybe Mikaila's alive? yeah she was stabbed with a sword but maybe it missed the important organs or something, or some weird necro-pymary kept her alive. She can't really be dead, right? Right, we didn't technically see the last light fade from her eyes and see her get buried right???
So, odds are that Duane’s gonna get to see William again when he returns to Alderode, calling it right now that Cope’s gonna kill him off.
Unless Lemuel actually grew a pair and decided to get his niece immediate help she’s totally dead, that sword ran all the way through her upper chest cavity and they didn’t have a wright to immediately fix the damage unless... Bastion likes saving kids right?
I find it interesting that the two characteristics that seemingly allowed Duane to be brought back to life— being Soud and a tacit-caster— also apply to Mikaila.
>Ashley tweets how cute the old man is in that New Don quixote movie
More like ossan-ded, right
Despite drawing pretty boys, Cope is into old ugly men, she finds Jack Black hot
I absolutely believe Mikaila is still alive. No evidence mind you, but my belief is certain. Just like those religious people up thread, ho ho ho. Ideally she'd still be alive alive because little girl not being dead is nice and having her more in the story would be very interesting, especially as an older character now. However we have to look at the misery generated to Duane to see if it is likely. Mikaila being alive would generate misery because that's one more person he has to keep himself from, just like his wife, but he would be happy that his little girl is alive. If she was incredibly fucked up by it that would increase misery. Max misery though would be if Bastion turned her into something like him. His is a damned existence that he would wish on no one, let alone his daughter, so her being in the same situation as him would really fuck him up I think so that's the most likely outcome.
How much is Duane gonna freak when he gets to Alderode and finds an undead Mikaila? I have a feeling he'll kill Bastion real, real slow.
Ugly old men are a lot more fun to draw than attractive people, and I have a thing for older women so I can see where she's coming from.
Oh no he'd do it fast. I can't imagine his rage being anything other than white hot. If Bastion is spotted by him after he learned of such a thing there would be only death.
Bastion would hate to see a kid killed and waste a tacit caster, so his character as we know it does have the motivation, and he was right there (We've seen his silhouette while they're stabbing Duane's eyes, and it's probably him telling them to put his eyes out)
Could he have cast a bleeding stoppage spell? Maybe. Did Lemuel lie when he said she'd already been burned. Maybe. Is this drawing by Ashley just a what if? Probably.
Also one other tidbit is him saying "Adelier is dangerous, all Adeliers are", we assume he's talking about Lemuel, but maaaaaybe....??
ashley has very heavily implied he's not talking about lemuel in that scene
either something happened with mikaila or leysa came at him with a fucking sword or something
It's really the logical conclusion to "god helps those that help themselves".
I was thinking that too.
Wait, this is absolutely great. How have I not seen this pic before?
I wouldn't put it past Bastion to try something with Leysa, he's enough of a piece of shit for that. But Bastion, insofar as I know, got injured by a spellwright - which Leysa decidedly ISN'T. In fact, I don't thnk we've ever seen Lemuel do any spellery, either.
Mikaila being alive and shotgunning that prick at some point is at least somewhat plausible.
>got injured by a spellwright
We don't know that, he's just sliced up
>spellwright
>which Leysa decidedly ISN'T
We don't know that either. Women are forbidden from practicing pymary, when would she have talked about it?
considering the whole deal with mikaila wanting to learn it i think it's pretty safe to say leysa doesn't do pymary
doesn't mean she couldn't have injured bastion herself though since he's a complete fucking wimp
Would adult Mickie become a Third Option so she could slaughter Cr*scians in the army?
How old would Mikaila be in the present day? 15? Cope can't bring her into the comic, I can't deal with the guilt of fapping to Duane's teenage daughter which is what I will do, a lot.
I think it was a Kickstarter commission. I hope she does another KS soon, I have half a dozen ideas of things I want her to draw. Although I wasn't fast enough to score a commission last time, fucking sucked.
Don't we get a flashback to when he was injured that involved a flash of light?
Lemuel is the villain, it is known.
What DO Vliegeng eat?
Bell mentioned their range is limited because they require sustenance that's only found further north
Anyone have just the art from this?
>tfw no chill beach day chapter
Ashley spends too much time on the first 4 steps. she needs to do that last step more
Their teeth would make me think they're herbivores
They apparently eat large quantities of plants and fish along with the occasional whale.
You'd be partially correct. They're omnivores.
>They eat giant sappy bamboo called Frost Giants. And they’re called Frost Giants because they only grow in frozen north Alderode out of geothermal pockets, and because they’re about as tall and fat as California red woods. Now and then they pick off whales, seals, and other marine life that ventures too close to shore, usually when they’re fattening up for breeding.
Given her dad was basically a matyr I can see the system giving her some lenience.
>I don’t think Mikaila would have chosen the Third Option, no. That would be too much like surrender. She’d insist that the system change instead of changing to suit the system.
>They're omnivores.
More likely Herbivores that are engage in opportunistic carnivory
I've had a question about this world's khert properties for a little bit, can any of you help me if this has been explained in the past?
So, pic related, we know that the continent's khert lines cannot cross into the khert field of a first material.
If we were to take two separate pieces of first material, say two pieces of first steel/silver/whatever, they'd each redirect the continent's khert lines around each of them.
My first question is, is there ways to take those two separate pieces with their own separate kherts, and put them together in such a way that their individual kherts merge, and you end up with a larger chunk of first material, without losing the properties of said first material? And what are the limitations of this phenomena? Is it possible to just slap two first materials of the same like next to each other physically, and their kherts will naturally expand to accommodate each other, or do you have to physically bind them with more lasting molecular bonds?
My second question, depending on the first, is how two first materials of different likeness behave next to each other. If you take first silver and first brass, and fuse them together in such a way that would normally cause two first materials of the same likeness to share a field, will the two first materials of different likenesses share a field or maintain their own?
I was originally of the mind that they would not be able to form one composite khert field between separate first materials, but after rereading Boo's scene where he is impaled by the first silver, it seems to me like they can in fact merge khert fields between separate first materials.
Apparently any manipulation of a First Material that changes its Aspects too much - say if you melt down some First Silver - will cause the khert to re-evaluate the First Material, and runs a high likelihood of the khert then recategorizing it as a Base Material - as regular old silver.
It seems that extant First Materials only exist because the khert's overlooked them. If you compel the khert to acknowledge them by inflicting some change upon them, it will classify them into its system.
I imagine trying to fuse two FMs would definitely trigger this, and you'd wind up losing both.
This is why First Material supplies are dwindling.
When Quigs was trying to fix Uiad, he needed special facilities to manipulate and reprogram the khert fields. I'm sure a master artificer can do all kinds of first material buggery, as long as they keep it within tolerances
Not beating them up, no, but it's canon that Duane isn't above spanking
Lemuel a cute and he didn't do nuffin
That makes sense, but then I need to ask how do they make all the first material weapons and contraptions? The forms all the pyrmics we've seen thus far are not their natural state, unless Emil's spell slicer sword was just brought into the world in the shape of a sword.
I could see cold-smelting as a way to deal with that, heating it up enough to be more malleable, but not fully liquid. But then I wonder if there are other ways to fuse two first materials together without the use of conventional smelting.
Yeah, was about to bring up that point. Seems like Quigley can fuse mundane earth, and somehow, isolate it from the continent's khert and then have it accept Uiad's khert, adopting first material properties.
I'm really curious on some of the science behind how that works though. It's limitations. And if it would be possible to make other first material alloys, or even brand new first materials.
I'm surprised there isn't more research and development being done on this subject, either publically funded from the governments, or through the black tongues. The only sign of this being done was with a small plat village, and then it seemed like a brand new, never before done thing.
With the dwindling first materials (besides renewable ones like first silk and first salt (and first silver from the tittybird)), you'd think there would be more effort going into artificially inducing, and solidifying, isolated kherts in materials to simulate first materials.
I guess coding into a first material's inner khert is wholly different from coding into the khert surrounding that first material. Like, we know ghost can sneak into first material pymarics from the general khert and this is neat for them because the general khert will usually just move around it. So things that work within the khert, including spells, can be jammed or jam themselves into first materials. It's only the khert lines by themselves, which are without minds (or basic will) of their own, that ignore first materials.
I don't think we've really seen how they programm pymarics yet.
We've seen that the Quiggleys found you could "stretch" outwards a first material's inner khertfield to include non-first materials. Besides the obvious combat applications, I assume it protects passengers of Uaid from the dhammakhert's stings.
When this is over, I want to see Ashley's entire collection of notes in one picture. Just to see all the work, scraps of lore, GB of porn, and post-it-notes it took to make this whole wild ride possible.
MESSIN' WITH THE KHERT?
THAT'S A PADDLIN'
DISRESPECTIN'' SSAEL?
THAT'S A PADDLIN'
WORSHIPIN' DEAD GEFENDUR GODS?
OH, YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT'S A PADDLIN'
B-but, what if I want to get to know the author and take her to dinner some time?
For real though, I'd really want to visit with her and just talk about stuff. Her head seems like a fun place.
I was under the impression that spell had been cast by Duane himself, as a final "fuck you".
He seemed to employ the same 'spirit hands' maneuver that he used to free himself from the plod mask and handcuffs when he was on the silver raft.
That feels unlikely to me simply because it would have been in Chapter 7, when the assassination happened, if he'd done it. I think Lemuel came upon the act and tried to kill Bastion. Him killing Duane was fine, but turning him into a zombie? Fuck u buddy that wasn't the deal.
From what I've gathered, turning him into a zombie was exactly his plan.
I don't know enough to cast judgement on Lemuel, especially after seeing some of the shit he's gone through this chapter.
But it seems like it was heavily implied that Lemuel was complaint in the assassination, or trying to bank off of it in some capacity. Probably politically, but most likely to accomplish a much longer-game plan.
Especially since he seems to have something really weighing him down in the flashback chapter, and he's the one that comes to rescue Duane from the funeral pyre. If he didn't want Duane risen and kicking ass in undeath, then he would've sent Duane to get cremated.
Probably, but maybe Lemuel couldn't go through with it when the time came. He'd worked up the nerve to agree to his brother's assassination but killing him twice? He just lost the belly for it.
I think Lemuel is a profoundly conflicted man with a haunted head full of terror and confusion. And I'm almost certain there's another party manipulating him and taking advantage of all his bad feels. Cope's showing us so much of Lemuel this chapter for a reason and it's plain to see he's no evil scheming maniac.
I wonder what the public excuse was for Duane's body not being there to be burned.
filthy Crescian's
They could have said his body was too mangled for a public service, and that they cremated it in private. Cope said that was what they told his wife. "We burned it before you got here to spare you the grief of seeing him so disfigured."
My bet is he agreed that his brother needed to die for the Good of Alderode and was clued in on what Bastion was vaguely doing to him, he wouldn't even really be dead so he'd feel even less bad. But I don't think he was supposed to be there, or if he was, he didn't know exactly what they'd be doing to him. That, combined with the fact that these assholes murdered his niece made him peace out of the whole deal, slash up Bastion and take Duane for himself. He already had the eyes prepared as per the plan so he just went along with that.
Duane going for that plat ass when?
he's like 18 at best ashley you fiend
Magnus is clearly the cutest tho. He's like Matty, with Sette's personality
HOLY MEN ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED WITH CHILDREN
The good ol' plausible deniability.
This is so cute. I wish I could draw so I could make nice cuddle art with them.
Bastion at some point before the act decided to make Duane a zombie, but what the rest of the plot is we don't know. There's clearly Cr*scians present.
Ashley has said before that there's big players in Alderode scheming schemes we haven't even begun to get clued in on, completely unrelated to the Queen, Black-Ruber, Delicious, or Rape Snake.
Duane's about that tough love
I always interpreted that ghost hand as Bastion shackling Duane's soul to his body.
Yeah, I saw it as his soul was leaving and Bastion is pulling it back in. The action lines aren't completely clearly but it looks like the hand is moving move outside his body back inside.
>>All the casters are 9 year old boys
What anime is this?
if you don't use 9 year old boys you risk having your casters die of old age halfway through a battle
I just thought of a way to reliably manipulate First Materials through physical changes without degrading them: do the work in an area unconnected to the global Khert, i.e. in the Black Tongues' headquarters (or inside a box of First Material or one mimicking such via Vienne's field spreader).
I believe that's what they do, but it's still not a 100% guaranteed process. Recycling First Materials is a big deal and they're trying to figure out how to do it all the time.
That's how they do it. Items like Toma's sword have to be constructed in khertless conditions and even then there's a moderate failure rate when they introduce the new item back into the world. I imagine it keeps these things selling for a premium and helps balance them out.
How to draw Sette:
1.) Draw something to steal.
2.) Sette, give that back.
I doubt the hell out of that. She's a Soud, a woman, AND a Ssaelit.
You know, I'm not going to feel very sorry for Bastion when he meets with a Frankensteinian fate.
He's specifically 18 for that reason.
And he has good smug. But he's too young.
s
So the writer has set up a magica realm that lets him excuse drawing kids in battle all the time? That isn't fetish bait at all!
I think he must have a crush on Duane. Why copy his bowl head otherwise?
>him
>drawing kids in battle all the time?
they're not in battle all the time. Sometimes they just have theological debates
i think it's some kind of goofy aldish military thing
Cope commented a bit on the tumblr that he finds Duane interesting, but I dunno if he's canonically attracted to him.
She's alive and will die at the hands of Sette, to deliver maximum pain and anguish for Duane.
>maximum pain and anguish for Duane.
but user, maximum pain would be killing her himself, because he doesnt recognize the type of person she has grown into after all these years
You think far too shallowly. Having his real daughter die at the hands of his semi-adopted rat brings extra emotional pain. Accidental death would be too easy.
Well see I was asking because I thought it would be cute if Mikayla and Sette were friends or something but not I see death might be the most merciful option in a comic like this
Bastion already got RUCKED
And that's not all! Just after reconciling with Duane Sette manages to kill yet another family member. Or Will. The possibilities are endless!
Has Duane kissed any Crescians lately?
