Friends! Like most folks visiting this page, I am a huge fan of Archie Comics’ TMNT Adventures series. It is no secret that this comic book was cancelled back in the nineties (1995, to be precise). Many of us have heard about something called “Forever War”, a mysterious story arc we all were dreaming about after its very first announcement in the latest issues of TMNT Adventures. Unfortunately, the story never made it to the printed page because of the series’ cancellation.
>However, in 2009 Steve Murphy, creator of the series, has announced that “Forever War” is going to be released under the aegis of Mirage Studios. Despite the fact that he had been working on it for quite some time, it was decided that the story had to be totally rewritten and redrawn. It was supposed to be the one, true finale for the TMNT Adventures universe. Alas, the TMNT rights were sold to another party leaving fans devastated by the second cancellation.
>And now, after 10 years of emptiness, our hope is returning and it will finally be rewarded! The thing is, my dear friends, that we have at our disposal all EXISTING ORIGINAL material of “Forever War“, right out of 1995! And it’s FORTY pages long, 2 complete issues out of 5!
>But that’s not all! We’ve finished this story and gave it a spectacular ending using everything we had. Not a single page was left out, not a single dialogue perished! The story is naturally embedded into the Archieverse and it explains EVERY SINGLE incomplete plot thread, which had existed since the dawn of the series!
>Moreover, the incredible Chris Allan has agreed to finish this story with his own hands -- he will illustrate this story from beginning to end!
>We are the team that brought you the TMNT Volume 3 Conclusion, “Odyssey” and “Origin,” all created in participation with the Mirage Studios legends: Kevin Eastman, Jim Lawson, Frank Fosco, Dan Berger, A.C. Farley, Rick Arthur, Rick McCollum, Bill Anderson, Will Tupper, Andres Ponce and many others! We also created a variety of TMNT fan comic not related to the Mirage or Archie universes.
>And today we are proud to present you the EXCLUSIVE! A 10-page sneak peak to this story!

Guess this means IDW won't ever do it.
>Guess this means IDW won't ever do it.
Same guys did an Image series conclusion a few years back with involvement from Gary Carlson, Frank Fosco and Kevin Eastman. IDW is doing their own Image series conclusion now with Carlson, Fosco and Eastman.
So even if The Forever War is being done now by these guys, IDW could always do their own version of it in a few years.
Bobby said it was a possibility in the last Christmast issue. Someone should ask him what does he think. Never read Odyssey nor Origin. Where they good?
What characters do you think will show up?
Chris Allan, you say?
Yes, his sonic art was off. But his turtles art was the fucking best.
Odyssey was a pretty impressive thing for a fan piece. Story was kinda meh, though. A potential "grand finale" to the entire pre-Nick TMNT franchise. Never read Origin.
Assuming it follows the same outline as before: Ninjara, Al-Falqa, Katmandu, Golani, Scumbug, Wyrm, the Rat King, and of course Shredder.
That's al for now.
>Never read Odyssey nor Origin. Where they good?
The writing in Odyssey is "90s throwback" stuff so there's a lot of gratuitous swearing and gore and talking about sex. It comes off as rather juvenile. The art, though, is all Jim Lawson, and if you're a Mirage TMNT fan, you either love him or have grown accustom to him by now. But even with the amateur writing, it IS amazing that Odyssey was coordinated and produced. Several other Mirage TMNT artists participate and even a few IDW and Archie ones. The plot itself isn't bad, either, it really is just the "extreme" dialogue.
Origin isn't out yet. From what I've seen, it'll be much the same as Odyssey, but there will be other writers participating and one of them is at least "indie professional" (as in, he's actually written indie comics) so there's hope at least those segments will read a bit better.
IDW is literally making a conclusion for the Image volume even though a fan-made one already existed, you stupid fucking dipshit.
Please, for the love of GOD tell me you’re going to bring the Mighty Mutanimals back!
So where will I be able to read this once it comes out?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
ITS HAPPENING!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
AFTER OVER 20+ YEARS ITS HAPPENING!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
NIGGA YOU KNOW THEY DEAD!! THEM SLASH THEY ALL DEAD!!
that panel wasn't much, everyone punched Hitler in all of comicdom by now.
This page is better.
Yeah, but it was Raph that punched Hitler. He was my favorite.
Where I would like to see it happen. Ninjara won't return because of being intellectual property that belongs to some other artist who created her as. I'd like to think Cudley the Cowlick might return if the Turtles need to do any space warp and time travel.
>Ninjara won't return because of being intellectual property that belongs to some other artist who created her as.
Sold her back to Mirage right before the buyout. Nick owns her and IDW has already used her in new stuff.
>Nick owns her and IDW has already used her in new stuff.
Well hot damn, I'm way behind the curve on turtles lore.
I love how they introduced the Adventures characters into the IDW version, but Cudley has been curiously missing so far.
Can't wait to see how they handle Maligna's invasion, or the conflict between Null and the horsemen of apocalypse vs. the Turtles and Mutanimals. Those were the most badass story arcs, holy shit.
The only downside is that Slash is already dead in IDW, and he went out in a pretty lame way compared to Adventures (single handedly kept fighting all of Malignas troops on their mothership, so the turtles have enough time to escape, and so Maligna is unable to repair it, while the entire ship was FALLING INTO THE SUN).
>IDW has already used her in new stuff.
where? She's not with the Mutanimals (Hobs crew).
The 30th anniversary special.
Man, when did Raph, and Ninjara make up? This is out of left field. There was some NTR shit going on there and thought the two parted ways.
that was a story in the Adventures timeline. I meant, have they introduced/used her in the IDW stories yet? Or is Alopex supposed to be her replacement since they couldn't get the rights early enough?
Its a story set before the breakup.
No, they haven't. But they've always had the rights to use her however they want, or they wouldn't have put her in that comic.
>Its a story set before the breakup.
I guess I better find these trades for purchase.
Its a short little comic made for this thing. It also had short stories set in Mirage, Image, and IDW.
This is just funny
>Scumbug, Wyrm
Aren’t they dead? As in, turned to crystal and then shattered dead?
Yes, yes they are. How they were going to come back was never revealed.
Ninjara has been used? When?
I thought that belong to Murphy and Allan (so she can actually show up).
Damn, I’m so happy this is happening.
see:
She had a two page cameo on a TMNT adventures tie-in story. That's it.
Oh. Didn't Murphy and Allan worked on that issue?
Yes, they did.
Maybe they give permision to use her? I'll like to see some sources that says Ninjara belongs to Viacom.
I remember being around 14 or 15 reading these chapters hoping they stay together. This page crushed me something awful. Kind of gave me a deep seeded fear of being romantically involved. Was pretty stupid at the time but was still a kid. I was really upset when we left Raph like that after two filler chapters with no Forever War in sight because of cancellation.
I was one pissed off fanboy as a turtles fan wanting more mature non-edgy material. I liked the Archie TMNT Adventures run. Hope these new continued chapters spark interest in that old run again. I loved the art, and cosmic story lines.
That was a weird final run of the Archie series, wasn’t it?
The stories had gone from serious toned adventures to grim-dark edgefests. Between the mutanimals being brutally and ceremoniously killed off, to Mikey getting tortured by some sadistic scientist, I had no idea what the hell was going on!
I really liked the wild ride. As someone who grew up with the 80s cartoon. It was a big leap in the subject matter. I did not have access with the old Mirage comics. So seeing this brand of TMNT was a big treat.
Yeah, it hurts how they break up (doesn’t help how the special issue before this was all about Ninjara and Ralph) and we were left without the forever war. Man it feels surreal this is happening.
Are we finally going to see the return of this guy?
Wait, so that's why Raph was black in that one issue I had as a kid? Wtf.
They said they were going to to complete every single incomplete thread so I hope so, the bastard must not going unpunished for what he did.
It was a suit he wore in the wrestling planet IIRC, he stick with it for some issues.
I think it was confirmed by the IDW comics' editor back when they had a forum.
Really? Fuck, now I remember they nuke the forums.
I hate it when they nuke a popular community forums. So much info can get lost. The Gearbox and Relic forums had tons of great info and they got nuked as well. All those great Borderlands and DOW2 threads lost...
Wait. they nuke Gearbox forums? Fuck. Haven’t visit them in a long time.
I’ll have to look in the wayback machine to see the Ninjara info but I don’t think I’ll have any luck.
>Ninjara belongs to Viacom.
viacom OWNS NICKELODEON!
