Pandering got way too out of hand.

Because it was unnecessary and uninspired

Emoji movie 2
The neat idea of Ralph exploring new games that utilize online connectivity turned into some corporate shilling

now it's up to Frozen 2 to see if Disney will ever consider sequels ever again

It completely fucked Ralph and Vanellope's personalities and threw them both under the bus. Ralph went from being a clumsy and loveable oaf with a father-like relationship with Vanellope to a Mater-level parasite. Vanellope went from an adorable prankster child to the film treating her like an adult weighed down by her idiot friend.

Vanellope and Ralph needed each other, it was never onesided. Vanellope resents Ralph for caring when he thinks going Turbo is bad, and the whole thing is treated as Ralph's fault.

Nobody addresses the problems with a child abandoning her home and moving to Gotham because she thinks it's cool.

Also forced references and memes.

Princesses were cool. Most of the feminist stuff people whine about was exaggerated.

Because it didn’t deserve to be nominated for best animated feature.

Wasn't as good as the first one. Next question.

It simply plays out like a mediocre Disney direct-to-video cheapquel.

Ah, excuse me Mr. Simpson. On the Itchy & Scratchy CD-ROM, is there a way to get out of the dungeon without using the wizard key?

I liked it.

>mediocre Disney direct-to-video cheapquel.

It's been a while since they made one of those. Kinda nostalgic, actually.

I like the first the idea of a virtual world in an arcade. Fine good.

Now sequel
The virtual world is now the internet. The concept alone is a very hard to encapsulate the internet as a whole.

The Google and eBay jokes are pretty dated. Again the whole dark web gets treated like a fuck up downtown virus like osmosis Jones has been done before.

Disney princesses reeks of wanting to be a spin-off.

And my last complaint, completely personal but I hated seeing Ralph be talk down to the entire movie.

What the hell are you talking about?

you are talking about the same academy that nominated Shark Tale in a year where his fellow nominees where Shrek 2 and The Incredibles

Have sex

Barely anything happens, and when things do happen, they’re either embarrassing, advertising, or ruining what people liked in the first film.
For me, the Vanellope situation takes back seat to the fact that Ralph, the title character, has already been reduced to a bumbling retard when he was a well-rounded “tough dumb guy” in the first movie.
And before anyone says it, there is a difference between the first movie including popular game characters, and the second movie over glorifying everything Disney owns.

>glorifying everything Disney owns.
If you're talking about the Princesses scene, that's kinda parodic.

Why do women feel like making a thread with "why" is something interesting in an image board? You just end up talking about you and nobody fucking cares.

First one wasn't that good to begin with.

>Princesses scene
So I want to talk about this scene. All the princess seem to be part of of this "Which Princess are you" game. Personally I believe that they are all from the first movie and have no knowledge of the sequels.

Second off Disney seems to be on the fence if they want to use Merida. They make fun of her accent (which all of the should have considering their race) and mentioned she from the other company.

>Guys guys you know how our marvel division has a CU?
>okay what if we put all our princesses in a scene for that Wreck it Ralph movie?

The original movie had more niche appeal, which counterintuitively made it more successful, because the people it targeted appreciated it more. "Donkey Kong meets Halo meets Mario Kart" is a pretty bonkers idea for a movie, but gamers ate it up because it resonated with things they cared about.

The sequel tried to have more universal appeal, which, again counterintuitively, was its downfall. The internet is a useful tool that everyone is familiar with, but it's not something anyone is very passionate about in the same way that gamers are passionate about video games. No one felt like this was a movie being made specifically for them, so no one cared about it.

Yeah, all the princesses onscreen cooperating and using their talents to do good, all in a tongue-in-cheek but respectful fashion. That was cool. Give us that movie.

bend over

thought it was fine

Sequel that didn't need to exist. Too Emoji Movie like.
Also Disney sucking it's own dick was incredibly tiresome.

I think the crew are too conserved to put the crossover elements onto the movie. Only the princesses have more screentime, but others IPs like marvel, star wars and other classic Disney franchises are adopted very little. If those elements had been applied properly it could have been epic like Ready Player One. Just feel what a waste.

It wasn't very good.

I saw this movie for the first time yesterday and parts of it are already dated.

In 1 year NOTHING this film references will be relevant at all.

Venelope became a selfish douche whose willing to throw here friends under the bus

>epic like Ready Player One
An "epic" 2 hours of WB wanking itself
