Were kids really that scared of the seven deadly sins and all the death scenes in this movie? I thought it was pretty tame and aren't children nowadays desensitized to this stuff? In my school, the kindergartners would approach me in the bathroom would ask me to show off my dick and compare the size to theirs, all while calling each other faggots and mongoloids

It's not scared kids, it's outraged parents.

Byproduct of the snowflake generation being coddled with shit like we bare bears and helicopter moms

>In my school, the kindergartners would approach me in the bathroom would ask me to show off my dick and compare the size to theirs, all while calling each other faggots and mongoloids
What the fuck does that have to do with anything? What does that have to do with fear and violence? Why would you even want to tell us this?

He has to confess sometimes or else the memories get too bad.

Go back to watching Fox News, grampa.

I can see how a toddler might get scared

Riddle me this Yea Forums!

The hero steps through open door
The Hero's path is strained unsure

Hero seeks a sitting guide
Leads him greater through inside

Expert's words do not sooth the soul
Hero's fears grow greatly swole

The Hero sees the end of Tale
Behold he sees the Stork has failed!

Its my most brilliant heist yet!

nigga that was just you

Just because you got molested by the janitor doesn't mean it's normal OP

I was unnerved by that guy getting his head eaten off then thrown out the window.

Plus there's something that bugs me about killing people brutally for the sake of establishing a villain. It's cheap and feels forced.

Kids weren't scared because kids didn't see it

In fact no one saw it

I think you meant how no one saw captain marvel

No I didn't dumbass

Captain Marvel made over a billion. You're piece of shit won't even hit $300 milloon

But it will, last time you said it wouldn’t hit $200m but it’s on track to do better than that. Since Hellboy sucks hard and is R-rated, Shazam is going to go #1 at the BO until Avengers arrives

Nah, disney funeled money into it, no one went to see that stinker, thats why all the theaters were empty. Captain feminazi is shit.

Did OP just admit to being gay?

>Larger Tue to Wed fall than normal
Over the past 6 weeks:
Dumbo -49%
Captain Marvel -41%
Dragon -45%
Madea -50%
Alita -44%
Shazam's drop would be 46%. Right in the middle. That twitter account is hilariously pro-Disney. They always try to spin the numbers in a negative way, unless they're Marvel/Disney which even the most middling numbers are seen as amazing. If I don't remember wrong, that account was claiming CM would do about 450 domestic until recently, even though the numbers don't really support that at all.

My mom was shocked when one of the monsters bit a guy’s head off.

This makes no sense.

>You're

Company wars make no sense in general, and it's even worse when they're about how much money either company makes.

It'll probably be around 250 by the end of the weekend and then he'll move on to "it won't do 400".

It's doing right in line with Boss Baby (with comparable grossings) and Jungle Book (in terms of percentages), it will be fine

So you're a homosexual pedophile?

The boardroom scene was scary-ish, it had a jumpscare with the guy staring at the opaque doors and then seeing loads of workers getting smacked into it multiple times while trembling backwards. I could see some kids finding that scary

The opening sequence could be somewhat intense for little kids too. The thing is that when I was a kid, I actually loved being scared even if it meant a few days of sleeping with my lights on. The movies that had that effect on me always became my favorites.

kill yourself

I saw it with a 10yo autistic girl (for work, I get paid to hang out with a few autistic kids once a week)

She was terrified and grabbed my arm hard at those scenes. Was kind of adorable.

Nigga, they watch people get murdered for real on the internet

Did she enjoy the rest of the movie though?

She did, very much so. I've seen it 3 times now thanks to work and each kid loved it.

That's cool. I don't know about autistic kids, but normal kids do enjoy the rush of a good scare from time to time, as long as there's some relief at some point. I think people give too little credit to kids when it comes to Shazam's scary scenes. I wouldn't recommend for kids under 9 or so, unless they're already used to this kinda thing.

They figured the blow to their bank account (most of the money went back to themselves anyway) was more appealing than having to deal with the 'Carol failed because Disney didn't do enough" PR nightmare

>I was unnerved by that guy getting his head eaten off then thrown out the window.
It wasn't really this what unnerved me as well, but the somewhat realistic reactions to it, people screaming and trying to peek while knowing there's a huge height right outside.
But that was it... I felt absolutely nothing about these demons, not only they looked wildly unrealistic, they had no presence at all on screen. For being the "seven deadly sins", you'd think they would pose bigger threats than the stuff we saw.

Well, they needed to defeat Shazam to become all powerful, or something along those lines. That's why they actually go looking for him instead of simply trying to fuck shit up until he showed up to stop them.

>They figured the blow to their bank account (most of the money went back to themselves anyway) was more appealing
This is completely nonsensical and clearly something that would be easy to spot by any regulating agency (not to mention the feds) if they looked into it. What you propose is the sort of ridiculous nonsense that doesn't work in the real work where a global market is involved.

>Well, they needed to defeat Shazam to become all powerful, or something along those lines.
I must've missed this part. Considering how powerful they made Sivana, I figured they had somewhat equivalent forces.

The strip club is a big issue to some parents.

The 'joke' about Billy's running out of money comment was unnecessary and will definitely fly over most pre-teens, but it's unnecessary because it wasn't funny and other, better jokes can and do exist for this movie, and the joke was as needless as using the strip club twice - especially the second time with the entire family. It's one of those issues where American puritanism about sex and the human body, especially since it's used as a joke here, versus the fact that violence and gore is totally acceptable and OK with parents and businesses/movie or video game rating agencies, etc.

Nah they go after Shazam immediately before he can master his powers since he's the only thing that could stop them

You actually had issues with that part? Hell, that's the part with the most laughs in my theater, BOTH times. Specially the part where Mary keeps Darla's eyes closed and talking about glitter.
Kids don't need to understand the full extent of it, that's exactly how the animated Disney/Dreamworks formula works: there's two levels for every joke, the face value level, which kids understand, and the undertone level, which is for adults. All kids see is that something for adults was going on due to the "Gentleman's Club" neon sign. Adults are the ones who fully understand the implications.

I have no idea what he's on about either. That got the best response in my theater. It's up there as one of the best jokes in a superhero film

I remember the monsters telling him that the Wizard had found his champion so he needed to defeat him. Only saw it once so I don't remember the exact wording.
I also remember something about the Wizard saying that he needed to find the champion before the Sins had regained their full powers or something like that, and that's when he goes for Billy.

Actually, the stripper club comes off as somewhat of a throwaway and "unnecessary" joke, if you will until the payoff at the end turns it into one of the funniest jokes in the whole movie. Everybody was laughing their asses off when that happened. I was surprised at how funny and well written all of the comedy was on this film. Lots of callbacks and setups with payoffs that you rarely seen nowadays, even in actual comedies.

I thought he needed to defeat Shazam's Champion before he could master his powers, because he was still fresh unlike Sivana, who was an adult and had more control of them. But that's why I assumed they were more or less equal, the Sins were free as soon as the Champion was selected, allowing a certain balance.

Again, I'm kinda talking out of my ass here since I saw it once and that's how it came across for me. Maybe you're right. I didn't mind it that much because this was obviously Billy's movie and the villain didn't need to be too distracting. That being said, I think Sivana was great. Just a resentful evil motherfucker.

>Were kids really that scared of the seven deadly sins and all the death scenes in this movie? I thought it was pretty tame and aren't children nowadays desensitized to this stuff?
It wasn't so bad. Parents are overprotective.

> In my school, the kindergartners would approach me in the bathroom would ask me to show off my dick and compare the size to theirs, all while calling each other faggots and mongoloids
Wait what.

Took my 5 year old bro to see Shazam. He loved it and enjoyed the Demons. I don't know, him and I will watch Childs Play together.

Even subtle jokes like the reference to Big. The movie is actually hilarious

What really pushes the first strip club joke to greatness is the plate of buffalo wings.
