this is actually OC do not steal

That's a given
>Eltingville makes fun of shitty fanfic writers having dreams to go to the Big 2 to fuck shit up
>Big 2 were already hiring shitty fanfic writers and even promoting them to executive positions before that part got written
Just end the suffering already Shueisha, we know Viz is attempting to make a power-play.
Obligatory.
Me in 5 years
Yeah but that theme song tho
Seems like a false equivalence rooted in a pre-existing contempt for black people.
Seems like another dime-a-dozen dipshit tried their hand at armchair psychology
It's called "Captain Pronin." It's some Russian animation that no one seems to be sure of how much of it is meant to be ironic.
The Black Panther movie was shit, it took a bunch of Priest's ideas and shitted them up to make them more palatable to wider audiences and depended on moronic "woke" marketing for its success.
But seriously though, there are levels of bad. BP was in the end just another mediocre Marvel Movie with a bit of performative wokeness added on. It is nowhere near as bad as the Steel movie.
Doesn't really take a psychology degree to see that you're clearly projecting preconceived distaste for black people onto the movie.
>doesn't really take a psychology degree to make a completely baseless accusation
Yeah well you're right on that at least
>Priest
The only ideas really carried over from Priest's run were the battle for succession and Everett Ross's existence. The rest wasn't even attempting to adapt it directly. And yes, a movie about a ridiculously wealthy, but isolated, African nation benefits from some kind of political slant. Priest's had a ton of it. Oh, and also minors who were being raised to be T'Challa's future wives.
Evil clever dog still makes me laugh
Zack Snyder doesn't write comics, you dumb Yea Forums dipshits.
Dorkin wasn't making some prediction, fanboys have been getting work at the Big Two since Roy Thomas entered the scene.
underrated
Thanks for explaining the joke, retard
>and shitted them up to make them more palatable to wider audiences
That's all superhero movies though
And Roy Thomas, among others, wrote some good stuff. The ones who aren't fanboys haven't done anything noteworthy in the genre in the last 10 years or so
>Roy Thomas wrote some good stuff
Ha ha
Alright
Fucking Venice. How does that even?
And did Scotland join at the end just to attack the english?
Posts like yours is the only thing that creates contempt for black people.
>did Scotland join at the end just to attack the english?
Yes
>Big words hard!
>I guess I'll just call him a pretentious fag.
>I don't like modern fanboy writers so the ones that wrote iconic stories and good runs back in the day are also bad
This is not an argument. It's Twitter-tier faggotry. Now, do you have any examples of good runs from outsiders who aren't fanboys from the last decade?
That's a fault on your part if you let solitary posts on a Mongol macrame message board influence your outlook on real-life political issues to that extant.
>oc
>implying no one here is an old school hacker
>what is the jargon file?
Come on
yeah bro, it's a reference to the story
nothing exists in a vacuum
we sure live in a society, dont we
>”hey, hating black people is stupid”
>”REEEE I HATE BLACK PEOPLE NOW”
I don’t think this happens.
It's more like
>I don't like Black Panther, that movie was boring
>That's racist
>I don't like being called racist for non-racist things, so now I am being pushed further to the right, meaning civil rights is less important to me now.
nice strawman but who in real life is coming up to you and saying that? Who on social media is accusing you of that? Anyone who says stuff like that does not deserve your time, attention, or respect, yet here you are basing your entire ideological outlook on what they have to say to you. And it's all over a big capeshit blockbuster that everyone is going to forget in ten years. I get that right-wing fanatics are well-known for their gullibility and predisposition to think with their hearts, but come the fuck on, you sound like such a tool and a brainlet.
whoa bro, I was just playing devils advocate, and trying to explain what the other user was trying to explain
Only idiots would have a reaction to that. I liked black panther but I didn’t like captain marvel. Was it because the movie had a female lead? No. I didn’t care for the writing and directing. If someone said I was sexist for disliking captain marvel, I wouldn’t start hating all women. I’d just hate the one idiot that jumped to that conclusion without being informed.
LOL Thomas is the only reason The Avengers outlasted the 60s, The Kree and Skrulls are anything other than minor FF villains and Bucky is remembered as anything other than Cap's dead sidekick.
>considers words like contempt and equivalence big
How's freshman year, bud?
What good things did he write other than Conan, where he had a massive crutch in the form of the original REH stories? All that fucking Golden Age capeshit fanfiction? That's supposed to be good?
Not that user but he also helped the X-Men last longer than they would have otherwise. I'm a Kirbyfag but his X-Men's not as good as his FF or Thor by any stretch. Still have 1-10 in reprints tho.
>Skrulls
Tbf I assume, don't quote me on this, that Super Skrull was kinda popular. Thomas boosted the extent of the Skrull Empire's threat tho
>I'm not racist but since you called me a racist I'll be one now
Then you were a racist all along, it's not hard. I wish people were a bit more honest about themselves sometimes.
that's not what I typed, but thanks obama
>that's not what I typed
It literally was
>I don't like being called racist for non-racist things, so now I am being pushed further to the right, meaning civil rights is less important to me now
"I don't like being called racist for non-racist things" is not the same thing as "I'm not racist but".
Roy Thomas is a slimey toadie who sucked Stan Lee's dick at every opportunity he had
alright well it seems like you can't do any actual critical thinking on the issue, because you are just responding to a hypothetical strawman each time, so have a nice day
But saying you're going to care less about "civil rights", like that's an inherently liberal thing to begin with, simply out of pettiness implies you were racist all along. People don't flipflop on things like that out of spite, not if they actually believe in them.
>Golden Age capeshit fanfiction
This applies to a ton of shit that was good in the Silver Age. You know, like Namor's return by Kirby, Cap's return, OG Torch's return. It's not an indicator of good or bad. If you dislike capeshit, that's fine. A lot of people do.
Don't pretend you have any authority on what's good and what isn't though.
A "hypothetical strawman" you literally posted yourself, but sure.
please calm your emotions
Kirby worked in the Golden Age. So did Stan Lee for that matter. They weren't raised by capeshit. They're literally not fanboy creators.
>Don't pretend you have any authority on what's good and what isn't though.
Like you're doing?
mate I love 70s comics but Roy Thomas didn't do any writing worth mentioning in his entire career. He only got handed books when none of the big hitters were available
>did Scotland join at the end just to attack the english?
Never underestimate the hateboner every single Scot has for the Brits
You're jumping to conclusions and assuming the worst of other people. That's going to taint your message and push others away from you. Even if they agree with you in political issues, they won't want to associate with you.
>this bitch better not being pouring decaf
>Christ, Clark, you just let your kid feed the dog like that?
>My feet hurt
>I wonder what Joker is doing right now
>dontstareathertitsdontstareathertitsdontstareathertis He is RIGHT THERE dontstareathertis
I will never not love this picture
>Eat my wife's pie, Bruce
You're probably insecure and dislike black people in general, which is why it's so hard for me tell people that I really didn't think Black Panther was all that great. It was Ragnarok without the humor with way worse special effects and with a much more grounded seereeuz plot.
>Thunder crazy ox
kek
Who is they? Last I checked, hive mind technology hadn’t been developed yet. You can judge an entire group of people on the actions of one individual.
Ok, fair. I'll accept I spoke out of turn. What's the issue though? He wanted to remind people of what he liked back in the day and pull characters out of obscurity? He wasn't as good as certain people then or after, but I don't see him as being as egregious as *actual shit* fanboy writers. He just did what he wanted to with then-old characters. Oh and later the Kree-Skrull war that had no impact then or now, and a fairly well-regarded Dr Strange run. But I'll concede. My bad.
You still haven't answered my second question, which is pertinent to the issue. Plenty of outsiders and "real authors" have delved into capeshit in recent years. Which ones have made good/memorable runs? If you can list a bunch off, I can accept that it's a legitimate solution to issues now.
this filename thread has been disappointing
user, I'm begging you to prove me wrong with facts and logic. If the problem with the Big 2 is fanboy/girl writers, what are the great runs now written by people who aren't?
I can fucking hear it
I agree, black people shouldn't exist
Ok, well, I guess the answer is none, then
Nobody should exist.
Very few writers nowadays aren't fanboys, and that's why new comics tend to suck so much. A somewhat recent run that I've enjoyed and benefitted a lot from the non-fanboy approach was Azzarello/Chiang's Wonder Woman.
Is it just me or the perspective looks all fucked up here?
Ok, we have one example. That's... somethings. And tbf, I have like four 2011-current Marvel series. Most of what I have from Big 2 are 60s-late 80s. I'm not trying to defend the fanboy shit so much as say that the alternative rarely works. There have been a decent amount of runs by people who don't fit into that, and they haven't done anything noteworthy themselves.
I think we need to look beyond using that as a criticism in itself. It's the same as anything. Execution's the issue.
*something
hah
I mentioned that example because I don't really follow current ongoings. I remember liking Lemire's Animal Man though I didn't get past the Rotworld crossover because it stopped being published in my country right after that. He's also not a fanboy.
Is RWBY discussed on Yea Forums? I never see it talked about
>point is that Black Panther is a complete nothing movie that banked entirely on being woke AKA relying on the fact that it's a movie about black people, which is what Pete was saying about Steel
>you just don't like black people
>not a fanboy
Not to an obsessive extent but a lot of his comics do show an appreciation for the genre. Black Hammer's deconstructive, but he made basically a Starman bootleg as one of the spinoffs.
haha
