Holy shit Tarkin stop being such an aggro faggot just because not every person got mauled by animals
Damn, Peter Cushing is jacked.
What species was Boushh anyways?
Ubese.
Adventures and Aphra aren't up yet, will post them here when they are
Thanks.
remember a certain point of view Novel made tarkin gay. he's doing this for show and attraction
I liked that Leia one. Maybe it’s my reverse trap and armor fetish acting up but I’d like more like it
Oh never mind, Doctor Aphra #31 didn't come out this week, neither did Star Wars Adventures #20
Next week
>Star Wars Age Rebellion Special #1
>Star Wars Tie Fighter #1
>Star Wars Adventures #20
I don’t remember exactly when it was but wasn’t there a Darth Vader story coming up with him amen some grill looking like they were a thing. Did that come out already?
the 24 of April
>Tarkin’s the kind of guy that imagines himself beating people up and killing them with knives with his shirt off
Top kek
I didn't know Tarkin was such an edgy fuck.
Oh, it's just a fantasy for Tarkin to just go ahead and have knife fights with his own men, shirtless and to the death.
You know, as a fan of Tarkin's character as well as a fan of Peter Cushing in general, would he actually fantasize about this? Would this be in his character? This just seems over the top Tarkin-wank while diluting his professionally stern, but gentlemanlike, way of dealing with his underlings and people in general.
Honestly, this just feels like something a Tarkin-fangirl drew on her blog. This is just way too over the top, even if it is just a daydream.
I like Takin, but this is just stupid.
Same
Dispassionately spacing dissenters is completely his style. I could even see him being scarred up from his upbringing but just as he enjoyed imagining Eriadu being destroyed I think he’d disdain that old knife and the “barbaric” ways of his family. Knife fighting a random officer should be completely distasteful for an Imperial in his mind, himself more than anyone.
I understand the thought process, giving him a hidden depth of viciousness imparted from his youth but almost every other depiction of Tarkin just doesn’t gel. If he picked up the Tarkin meanness, it should be cold and calculating, and most of all reserved like him
It lasted all of a second and Tarkington didn’t change at all from his normal behaviour. I saw it as more of a “flash” of annoyance and superiority.
I saw it more as, "If I was a younger man and also fit and didn't have these bad corns that require me to wear these frankly EXQUISITE slippers, and also knew how to use a knife, and wasn't so pasty and British, and maybe if he was a vampire...ah, to be young again."
wat
Tarkin is shredded, I'm swooning
(femanon btw, me no homo)
The funniest part about it is that Peter Cushing had gotten injured in the knee playing rugby. It was bad enough to make him unfit for service in wwii
>lets try to make the empire as poorly written as the FO!
Thanks OP, but the tarkin one is just bad.
The ability to remove your genitals does not make you a femanon.
These fuckers better not defect as quick as Iden.
>it's a trap
I agree mate. Even if I did remove my genitals I'd still have xx chromosomes
>he doesn’t know that /swco/ was as full of femanon Tarkin lust as it was Lukelust
Reference maybe?
Are we getting a story about some Imperial pilots?
Yeah, it was originally Chuck Wendig's other comic
they are doing an ""event"" with a special 5 issue comic about tie fighter pilots after ROTJ to tie into an upcoming book about imperial pilots that jumped to the Rebellion and now fly in "Alphabet Squadron" which is just one ship of every individual letter all together.
>imperial pilots that jumped to the Rebellion
aaaaaand my interest is gone
This. I want to see the Imperials win more instead of Rebels never taking a scratch
His autobiography, you can borrow it on archive.org
Oh wait you weren't asking for source right? Silly me.
actually the alphabet squadron hunts the imperial remnant . Only one member of alphabet squadron is an ex imperial and Hera from rebels is suppose to play a role in Alphabet squadron. We also may find more out about Jacen and with Hera being in alphabet squadron we might get some answers to when sabine and ahsoka left to find Ezra and if Rex and ahsoka met the Skywalker twins yet
>Jacen
It triggers me mighty fierce that they dragged that name out of its EU grave for el monstruosidad
well hopefully its for a big purpose like him becoming a knight of ren
So Section 8s are punished with summary execution? wew
Did they not hesitate when they blew up Despayre?
Maybe they just wanted to fly something with shields.
Yes yes exactly!
Well it is the Empire so no shock that they truly are The Evil Empire mentioned in the opening crawl, however this is also for the Death Star. They want people who don't even hesitate, because hesitation today could be refusal to fire (again) in the future, or, worse, sabotage. In this case rather than shitcanning people who have an intricate knowledge of the Death Star's internal layout, operation, and procedures, thus giving them more reason to be sour, they just eliminate them. If it makes you feel any better I suspect if they'd turned themselves in as Tarkin offered he'd also have had them murdered for the above stated reasons.
On a semi side now, in the nu canon they do indeed operate on a demerit system in the Empire. So many strikes and you are out, as in out in front of a firing squad.
It bugs me that Rex hasn't met Luke at least in the comics. A kid famous in the Rebellion for destroying the Death Star just happens to have the name Skywalker and Rex doesn't want to meet him and at least shake his hand?
I almost want to suggest that the Rebellion treats it like, say, the names of the people in Seal Team Six that raided Bin Laden's compound for fear of reprisals but the truth is there's just no way to keep a secret like that from such a relatively informal collective. Of course they all know who destroyed the Death Star and no doubt every other person involved who survived, except for Evaan because she fucked off into who knows where to be a space princess for Leia.
Never watched Rebels so I was curious about his role since I know he shows up but nothing more
I don't know if the accelerated aging is so much of a thing as it was in say, the Traviss books, but shouldn't he be pretty old for a clone by the time ANH comes around?
He was old, relatively. That's why he's considered the old guy in ROTJ with the Santa beard who dressed up in trooper armor during the mission on Endor. He's in his sixties, physically, despite being chronologically half that age. Still one clone trooper survived into the sequel era. Kix, the 501st medic, was put into stasis and later revived by the Crimson Corsair and his boys, so he hangs out with them now. Gets to experience a whole new generation of Skywalker fuckups.
>Rex doesn't want to meet him and at least shake his hand?
Do it after ESB. Luke's in the mess, being a mess, and trying to master his new hand, when Rex sits down opposite him. "You're Skywalker, right? You know, your father used walking a coin across his knuckles and juggling small fruits to get used to his prosthetic."
"You knew my father..."
>but shouldn't he be pretty old for a clone by the time ANH comes around?
He's not as good as he once was; but he's as good as he was, once.
>"why couldn't I have just died on Geonosis with the Commandos"
"Your father used telekinesis to cut up fruit in midair to impress the ladies of every world we had a campaign on. Used to share with the boys who'd run a train on 'em. Lot of clones earned their names that way. Hardcase. Chuckles. Misfire. Scored all kinds of tang. And he was a good friend. They all were."
I can buy it. If anything I think it shows more sense of composure and strength of will on Tarkin’s part that he can have thoughts of such rage and brutality but remain outwardly calm. Everybody has very base instinct violent thoughts occasionally, I don’t think it’s at all out of character that a guy like Tarkin would fantasise about losing it from time to time.
makes you wonder how many times he thought about offing Krennic
>how many times he thought of raping krennic
Ftfy.
>Implying any man but Galen would be able to touch Krennic
His oneitis was so strong he could no way fag the Emperor himself
I don't think it's any kind of power fantasy on Tarkin's part, myself. He's thinking, perhaps, of how his family might have run things, treated discipline. He instead is soft spoken but to the point. If you can't cut it, then get the fuck off the job. When they don't meet his secret and probably very narrow statistical model for reaction times they get chastised and then blown out the airlock. Not even nay mitigating circumstances such as Alderaan being the dude's home planet. If you can't pull the trigger the instant you need to then the trigger will be pulled on you instead.
What surprises me more is juts how many people are needed to fire the damn thing. Sure it's a powerful weapon but goddamn. 168 dudes? No automation? Not even using unfeeling droids to flip a switch? I'll say it again, goddamn.
The medal ceremony at the end of ANH would have been a pretty retarded move if they wanted to keep Luke’s identity secrent.
>now, we’re trusting all you hundreds of nobodies not to tell anyone about the identities of these guys we’re going to publicly parade in front of you, ‘kay?
Did anybody see through Galen’s beard? A man as handsome as Galen could probably pull anyone to live with him on a remote planet but he’s with this shrill religious harpy.
That medal was for rescuing Leia and returning the droids with the technical plan. That's why Wedge didn't get a medal. Poor Wedge. Also Chewie.
*that would rather meditate then have sex.
I don't care about the shirtless knifefight, what I hate are these two pages create an implication that the real reason Tarkin had Alderaan destroyed was because he didn't like that one guy showing relief and was testing the resolve of the gunners on a non-simulated peaceful planet. It wasn't for Leia, it wasn't for Bail's efforts to support the Rebellion, it wasn't because Dantooine was too remote a demonstration, it's because one guy breathed a sigh of relief in Tarkin's presence.
>168 dudes? No automation?
That's me. Obviously I understand why you'd want SOME flesh and blood soldiers pushing the button, but that just sounds inefficient
Once again the mouse came up with something stupid. Shocker.
>say that to me irl and not online and see what happens
I keep picturing this long chain of guys flipping a switch that turns on a light on a station five feet from him so that guy knows to flip a switch that turns on a light five feet from him and so on all the way down to the main fire control room where a guy flips a switch that turns on a light so the main gunner knows to say, "Commence primary ignition," and then flips a switch that turns on a light that destroys Alderaan. Cruel, clean, efficient Imperial precision. Like a well-oiled machine.
To be fair (because I've been laughing at this too) the primary weapon of the Death Star would have to be extremely complex with a number of reactors that all must be within nominal operation, not to mention guys handling the coolant system, the charging array, and emitters all around the primary dish. If any of those systems along the line fails then the whole sequence would have to be avoided or it could end in catastrophe.
>Dooku backstory audiobook-only thing won't have his or Ventress' TCW voices
in the fucking trash it goes
Tarkin is Gay senpai . He'll be offended if a guy doesn't do his job plus he probably had yandere feelings for him
So because it involves Tarkin's dick I'm supposed to give it a pass?
>aside from the reactor vent, Galen also designed the superlaser firing mechanism to be hilariously overcomplicated and susceptible to such moments of hesitation as we saw due to its ludicrous operator requirments
Are we still doing phrasing?
We'll they are harnessing the power to destroy an entire planet in a coherent energy beam. There's a reason it took them over twenty years to perfect the weapon, albeit Galen slowed them however he could.
I like the book but I think Tarkin going this far a bit much, but then again I think the Death Star novel did this much better especially with the main gunner going insanley depressed and losing his mind after he blew up the Death Star, but kept going because they’d just get someone else to do it until, he does the stand by thing at the end because he was going through a mental breakdown which Luke
enough time to blow it up, plus the book had Tarkin thinking how the ship was indestructible before it blew up
its also powered by kyber crystals
>coming deep in the outer rim
Kinky.
It was interesting that there was a potential implication that the kybers didn't want to be used as a weapon and destroyed a power test station despite the place copying Galen's designs completely.
Star wars is dead, why is anyone still talking about it?
Because we're not all as determined to be such joyless pissers as you
>mm yummy i love mouse cum thank you disney it tastes so yummy im such a good feminist ally down with toxic masculinity and disgusting white cis males!

Interesting how its seems to be older Ezra's face with younger Ezra's hair and gunsaber.
Interesting outfit for Hera. I wonder where that design came from. Is it from something new? I've never really heard of this alphabet thing until this thread.
Not a bad idea, but it is disheartening when we see the janitor culling Star Wars threads but not getting rid of the obvious trolling that leads the threads down a dark path.
Well i can say Ventress and Ahsoka are looking pretty okay, this is one of the rare times we get to see them depicted realistically
She's the real Ahsoka.

You disappoint me, anons. Did you forget who taught JJ everything he knows about storycraft?
agree.
Didn't the Vader series make Tarkin this guy who actually cared about his men? And would bitch to Ani about him force-choking a trooper every time he has a hissy fit? This whole thing feels so weird after reading that
I don't think so? He seemed far more results oriented than anything else. Although it IS funny watching his childhood trauma being a hunting incident when Vader forced him to do this
readcomiconline.to
>Joaquin Phoenix in Snoker
>Tarkin this guy who actually cared about his men
I don't think that's ever been the case. From how he's been portrayed, especially in current canon, the impression I've gotten is that he's willing to be reasonable, accommodating and even friendly to people who play by his rules and do their jobs well, but he has a low tolerance for failure and insubordination and can be Vader-level ruthless if he's especially displeased.
Basically he's fire and ice.
It's mentioned in this comic too about Tarkin's rather brutal upbringing and the importance of the hunt. The Tarkin novel goes into far more detail. Tarkin doesn't outwardly live to the code his family philosophies on the brutality of existence, to kill or be killed. He keeps such a pristine outer exterior you'd never really know it's always there beneath the surface, guiding his life. Hell, he even named his personal stealthship the Carrion Spike. Just a little reminder of home.
Shirtless duels to the death, especially at his age, were still ridiculous, but I can see it as a reminder of the difference in his behavior and his nature. Even when he instead gave the man and the others a seemingly gentler option that cold, calculating, killer instinct was still there. Tarkin isn't the kind of man to gut you in a knifefight, but in many ways that's how he was raised. He still calmly, patiently sets out a trap and lets you walk into it to your demise.
But my GOD was shirtless knifey spoony with Tarkin the stupidest fucking shit I've seen today. They could have just shown his family flashback to get the point across! Jesus fucking christ...
I disagree. He's still cold when he kills you.
If it had been an actual scene then yeah I'd agree that it's completely retarded, but as fantasy scene wherein Tarkin still maintains his calm exterior I don't see a problem with it.
I prefer to think of it as a mini-what if, as in what if he'd been the kind of person he was raised to be. That way it doesn't have that weird supervillain vibe of him dreaming up ridiculous brutal power fantasies. What's next? Him sitting in his office chair stroking a white loth-cat while saying, "On the contrary, Mister Bridger, I expect you to die." Leave those kinds of things to his good friend Dooku. Somehow, for some reason, they fit him.
>GRRRRRRRL POWER
I'm sick of them pushing Leia as some gun-toting badass when she never even held a gun in the OT, but facts don't matter anymore as long as it fulfills the agenda

I know. I saw it too.
Have a probot.
So what news can we expect from Celebration tomorrow?
That or people got tired of ST
The topic came up while discussing the latest film to in the franchise, “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” which marked the series first box office disappointment. The film, which focused on the origin story of Han Solo, grossed almost $393 million worldwide on a budget of roughly $250 million and a multimillion-dollar marketing campaign. The Ron Howard-directed movie marked one of three planned anthology stories. Each is to be released between installments of the revived trilogy that began with J.J. Abrams’ “The Force Awakens” in 2015.
Mark Hamill is just as worried about audiences getting fatigued with “Star Wars” as fans are.
The famed Luke Skywalker actor, who has appeared in five of the 11 films released in the franchise so far, understands that the heyday for the galaxy far, far away may have passed. However, that doesn’t mean he has any plans to step aside.
Speaking on an episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast, Hamill discussed the idea of “Star Wars” fatigue and noted that the minds behind the franchise have not listened to his warnings about it.
"I'm not gonna tell them how to run their business, but is there a possibility of 'Star Wars fatigue'? Yeah, I think there is. I've experienced it, to a certain degree,” Hamill said during the last minutes of the podcast. “But they never listen to my ideas anyway, so who needs 'em?"

You can tell marks still bitter as fuck about TLJ and everyone knows it
For some reason, it sounds like he came dangerously close to being booted out like Steve Whitmire. I mean, woe be to anyone in the circle who speaks ill of the circle.
I don't think there are any panels tomorrow, I think it's just autographs and merchandise and the panels start Friday
>That or people got tired of ST
People were still excited for TLJ. Yes there was worry about too many Star Wars movies too fast but remember that up to that point we'd only had ANH2, whoops, I mean TFA and Rogue One. Trank had dropped the ball early on and his movie was axed. If TLJ had been a hit people would have been clamoring for more. As it was it upset just about everyone, to varying degrees of course. This is what realizes the Star Wars fatigue which Solo, in part, suffered from.
Honestly I think people overestimate how much the TLJ backlash affected Solo. TLJ did fine financially, not amazing but nobody honestly expected it to do anywhere close to TFA numbers which seems to be the metric people use to declare TLJ a failure. Solo's issue was that nobody wanted it to begin with
Livestreaming doesn't start until the 12th at 11AM CT.
Kennedy needs to be taken out of the equation. But Disney renewed her contract, so obviously delivering four straight box office bombs didn't do shit to stop her. Is there no one brave enough to do the needful and gives us a permanent solution to her?
>Is there no one brave enough to do the needful and gives us a permanent solution to her?
May want to dial down that edge, son
Solo's biggest hit, I'm sure, was from the costly reshoots. With that the bar to profitability was so much higher so any hit it took from TLJ was going to be magnified as a result. I still think it's weaker than Rogue One, though mostly because I hated how fast they killed off most of the original heist crew. Poor Val and multi-arms died for nothing, which was even worse. I liked them so much better than Q'ira. Apparently Kasdan the Lesser. regrets bumping Val off so soon too.
Don't get me wrong, I do think there is Star Wars fatigue. There didn't necessarily need to be, though, because the Marvel and DC are managing it, especially with the latter finally getting their shit together (probably). But seriously if they'd just spread out the movies more, taking it slower, gotten the right creative talents (which seems to be their weakest link at this point), it would have been a lot better. I'm sure George join Mark in telling them to slow it down a little.
Is calling him Mand'alard the Inexerciseable too low hanging fruit?
She took the blaster from Luke to do some covering fire and she shot that poor stormtrooper on the tantive iv he wasn’t going to hurt her he said stun!! She also shot two stormtroopers who were asking for her and hans surrender. She’s an evil rebel bitch!
I think part of the problem is that people were to used to thinking of Star Wars as these event movies that only happen every few years, the OT and PT all had their movies spaced 3 years apart from each other, not to mention the long time between trilogies. Once you start trying to make it an annual thing it loses a lot of its magic for the normie crowd. The MCU never had this problem because right from the start they were churning them out at a pretty fast clip. On top of that, a lot of the Marvel/DC movies can work as stand-alones (obviously not all of them) and even as they bridge a shared universe they move forward. Pretty much all of the Disney-era Star Wars movies have felt like you need to know a significant amount about the franchise to really get them, and on top of that they're jumping around the timeline so normies have no idea what is even happening anymore.
If nothing else I think moving away from spinoff movies in theaters every year and instead having TV shows is a pretty solid idea that's going to give them a lot more room to breathe.
The Rogue Ones died with purpose after being with (even if not bonding so much necessarily) them for the whole movie, fighting wild ass odds
It's an awful lot harder to care about a bunch of characters dying when the movie itself hardly seems to notice they're gone
I saw that as "Mand'alard the Inexcusable" and I don't know why
It’s not that literally no one wants the job and KK riding out her ego with this, but it’s not like the executives or even Iger like her
It's definitely not a masterpiece, but I think Solo gets a lot of undeserved hate.
At least you didn't post that mando snuff guy who really hates Disney. Not sure why I expected it, though.
When I first watched Solo I found myself thinking that Enfys Nest would turn out to be Val and Beckett's kid. I suspect it was the implications of a mentor father-son thing with Beckett taking Han under his wing, showing him the ropes. I know a lot of people hate that notion but really he's the closest thing to a father figure we are aware of in Han's life, and he learned from Beckett so well he shot first and killed him. For some reason I found myself initially thinking Enfys was his estranged kid who learned the business so well she started her own gang just to fuck with his runs.
I don't know if that's more cliche than turning out to be the secret good guys all along or not. The actress behind Enfys Nest will be at Celebration. I've read that after Solo came out it was hinted that she had a super important role to play in events. I don't know if that was plans that were cancelled along with the other Anthologies or maybe it's because she took the coaxium and gave it to Saw Gerrera who probably used it to make bombs to drop on Imperials and civilian collaborators.
I would have rather watched a movie of old grumpy Harrison, Chewy, and zoned out Billy Dee. Why would I care about some manlet Jew and pando lando?
That's actually completely fair as an analysis. My only caveat is that after the Disney buyout we know a slew of movies was coming, and at least my perception is that the public was aware of this because all their big big plans and anthologies and everything were much talked about. So it wasn't like it was unannounced and people couldn't brace themselves, for whatever that's worth of course.
I wonder if Disney and lucasfilm know how much TLJ killed their hype train? Or at the very least they really could’ve done things better
>pando lando
What does this even mean?
Gambino stuck his wee wee in a ugly droid
Oh so you fell for a meme
You know Ford is a Jew too right?
Donald Glover was only hired to fill out a diversity quota
One thing that stills baffles me is that despite putting in so much money and investment in all these movies and the op Disney/Lucasfilm never actually cared to seriously create a plan for new trilogy and even just winged it with the spin offs, all of marvels shit I’d planned and appealing to casuals and fans really is not that hard they just should’ve sat down with people who knew about the franchise -Filoni- and even took some notes from George but they just didn’t, they could t be bothered to think shit through and instead churned out a remake of a new hope and a piece of shit that actually worsens the OR because now everyone’s dead and a failure, Fishers dead so Leia is most likely gone, Ford doesn’t give a fuck and as proven by Mark is just pissed and the new charecters mostly aren’t as appealing as the originals, no one cares about rose and why capitalism is evil
>Fishers dead so Leia is most likely gone
SOMEHOW she appears in IX, last I heard
Footage from other movies. They swore no CGI and soundalike so I'm pretty sure we're getting youtube.com
I always take it with a grain of salt. The impression I've gotten is that Mark isn't so much disappointed by the story/direction of the trilogy (which I think he really doesn't care too much about) as he is disappointed that he didn't get a chance to have a last hurrah with Luke, Han and Leia. I agree with him that it would've been nice to have them all together, and as much as doing that probably would've gone a long way towards making Mark happier it definitely wouldn't have saved the ST.
My guess is she'll appear briefly as a Force spirit alongside Luke, just using unused footage from TLJ cut and pasted into ghost form. No dialogue, just a quick ghost cameo.
That would be even more stupid since force ghost shit takes time to learn or you st least need to have a good amount of force power but of course who gives a fuck about continuity, not anyone involved I suppose
She gets elevated into it, like Anakin. Plus nobody taught Luke either, insofar as we knew. Yoda had recently shown up again in his life after he'd reconnected with the Force. I'm not even sure why they'd teach Luke. The Great Gift was couched as something like their backup plan in case they died before teaching the one destined to bring balance to the Force. At least that's what I got from the Force Priestesses.
Anakin didn't do any of that either but he got in anyway.
I know but he was a force user for decades and the fucking “chosen one” of course he could pull that of with little training
If nothing else the Superleia thing showed she had more training than we thought
The arms dealers are certainly despicable since they are having a party right after the first order just wiped five planets out and will continue to do business with them. You probably think the republic was justified invading Geonosis and the separatist council is evil but rose came off too strong and she shouldn’t question the honest hard working Red blooded Corellians exercising their freedom to sell dangerous material to people who want to violently take over the galaxy.
This reminds me, Filoni has the great secret real reason why Anakin got into the ghost club which George shared with him, and naturally he won't tell anyone jack shit. It's hinted that there's a bigger reason than just being helped by Obi-Wan and Yoda, or at least if it was just them it's not much of a secret.
I kinda figure it has to do with the Force being his real daddy. He was literally born of the Force, far more than other people who just get life energy form the damn thing, so in a way he just reverted back to his natural state. On the other hand it's funnier to imagine Yoda and Obi-Wan help him become a ghost, they all show up and smile at the Rebel party, and then just off camera as the ghosts are leaving we get
He killed the Emperor, tricked the others into making him more powerful than he could possibly imagine with this new shrinking technique, and he gets all his limbs, dick, and good looks back! Fuck the Rebels, he's won.
A Star Wars Story by Kasdan
Could be instinctive. A death's door she got a surge of mojo that saved her. Doesn't make it any better, really, but Bloodline has a line about how Luke thinks the strength in the Force manifests in her own strength. She made it her indomitable will, the same that allowed her to resist even Vader's torture.
>Qui-Gon made it in
>he doesn't do a last minute intervention to save Dooku
Well I mean sure he never repented for anything and was still a power-hungry bastard to the very end but c'mon how you gonna do your surrogate dad like that
I wonder if there'll be a thread for it. Probably not allowed, and I don't see this one lasting until the 12th. A shame really, it's nice to have one place to go for whatever Yea Forums related bombs they drop on us. Fuck it, who am I joking. If there's some big news about #clonewarssaved or some new animated series or exciting comic event it'll still show up in 4-5 simultaneous threads.
Here's hoping we get some good stuff. I'm feeling pretty burned out and would love to get some of that old excitement back. Resistance was way off the mark, and I say that as someone who managed to slog through the entire thing.
t. Poggle
Geonosians were a plague upon the universe
There was a comfy thread that managed to hit cap a few hours back, but all further attempts to make a thread have been immediately snuffed out by the mods without statement. So yeah, you'll just have to leech off of one of the announcement threads...assuming those don't get purged as well.
I think Resistance was alright for what it was, though it took way too long for Kaz to get competent. The impression I get now is that Kaz is a fuckup because he grew up surrounded by comfort and wealth and isn't used to this much work, but I don't know if that's intentional or not.
Even if that's supposed to be the case, that doesn't reflect well on Poe because the whole season he's all "yeah Kaz is secretly great I can just tell" but all we ever see from Kaz is him Jar Jar-ing his way through every situation.
At least at the end Anakin showed he'd learned perhaps the most important part which was letting go of the material world and accepting his moment of salvation was enough and he didn't need to live for it to be worthwhile. I...guess that's enough? Luke, I suspect, was dabbling along the same lines. It's like when Yoda appeared in Rebels it's easy to imagine the ability to project yourself through the Force across the galaxy while leaving your body behind is a related technique. If you can project your consciousness through the Force then pushed to the logical extreme you can do it after your body expires. Luke was doing more than what Snoke was doing connecting Rey and Kylo in that he was visible even to normies.
Honestly it still sucks that Qui-Gon can't figure out how to manifest a physical body, especially after Anakin is allowed to appear as Hayden. I mean the Force doesn't give a shit about time and space so technically Qui-Gon's body still exists so he can't just snag a visual copy? That sucks.
Kaz is ridiculous because he's not just some kid who got to become a Rebel pilot, he was actually trained by a damn military. This included blaster training by his own admission but god damn how did he pass that class? I'm not really impressed by his flying, either. It seems like the plot just hands him moments like saving someone else whose ship is in trouble and his final defeat of The Red Baronish felt like it had very little to do with Kaz's skills than it did Vonreg's target fixation. Kaz didn't even have to do much jinking or weaving around obstructions when flying between segments of the Colossus.
Ah well. It is what it is. I've said this in other threads here but my biggest gripe is that it feels badly designed. It can be a wacky little adventure romp but it feels like it has no real weight, no stakes, and no real emotional weight. At least Rebels for all its faults could allow for scenes like
youtu.be
And this is something Star Wars should do. Every now and then Star Wars needs moments where it plays some of William's finest while Luke stares over the desert, or mournfully burns his father's armor. Resistance can't really manage solemn. Hosnian Prime gets vaporized and sure Kaz is sad but it's not really built up on or explored very long before it's off on another wacky adventure to save the day. Presumably this is because it's intended for a much younger audience who don't appreciate solemnity. The little shits.
So did Aphra and Adventures get delayed?
The lack of feedback doesn't help. Definitely a jannie otherwise a mod could at least leave an explanation in a warning. Clearly we're meant to take a hint but it feels like something is off given the original mod message detailed while there is no new show, which we now have (ignoring that there were multiple ongoing comic lines). The point about "low quality posting" stings when we still have the whole "mouse cum" comment above. Like they won't clean house then blame us for the mess. At least the psycho post was deleted.
Only reason I bring it up, beyond you mentioning it and some mild annoyance over how many shit threads Yea Forums currently has (including a Peni Parker OP that you probably do not want showing up on a work computer), is I think TLJ is what killed /swco/. It was already dying but after TLJ the fandom was at its own throats, shitposting hit its peak, and there was just the same arguments over and over again. People just got fed up with all the vitriol. I know I did and stopped frequenting the threads before they were banned. About the only ones still left were the shitposters and the memers with their hats and futas and golf.
It's nice to see decent Star Wars threads are still possible. I wish it was encouraged instead of banned. I wish the mods would realize that banning threads doesn't solve the problem of the shitposters and low quality memes, they just find new hives of scum and villainy to shit up. Nuking threads is just punishing the good and the bad.
I think it helps that we have some stuff out/upcoming that's not ST related, so there's less vitriol
Do people still follow Aphra? I don't see it storytimed very often. I'm surprised Age gets as much love as it does. Of course who shirtless Tarkin knifefights, there's no way that wasn't getting posted!
Is this the one that's audiobook only? Seems weird but then this is the age of digital media players in everyone's pocket. If this is the new trend I wish they'd do them in more traditional audio drama format. But then I'm a sucker for old radio programs and I loved the NPR version, goofiness and all. It's nice that they were able to bring some of the original cast into some of it, those that would do it/needed the money. I think Anthony Daniels is the only one who made it into each, which is no huge surprise. Also Brock Peters as Vader wasn't bad. John Lithgow as Yoda was just odd. Ed Begley Jr. as Boba Fett, Ed Asner as Jabba the Hutt? Wild.
Oh and Lisa Simpson was Jabba's torture droid. Fitting when you think about it.
>I think Anthony Daniels is the only one who made it into each, which is no huge surprise
Does he have any kind of career outside of Threepio?
Yeah it's pretty unexpected, I don't think they've done any kind of actual radio drama since the old ones. I don't think the PT got them, either. But yeah, this Dooku story is going to have a full cast rather than just having one person read the entire thing, and they specifically compared it to the NPR dramas when they announced it.
Nope. He's done like 3-4 non-Star Wars things but pretty much his entire acting career has been playing C-3PO. This is why he's so protective of the role and insists on doing it even for smaller things, it's literally his entire career.
The funny thing is they kind of do, in a way, with sound effects and music during audiobook narration. I don't think they'd ever do it because it would be a much more expensive operation having to hire more people, requiring more audio takes, and more audio production to get everything right. It'd still love it.
I can't even remember a time when Threepio's voice wasn't him. I'm sure something exists somewhere.
Well that was easy to look up. Can't say I'm surprised, though I feel the need to dig up this Pegg version.
I'm just going to amend this because it sounds really ignorant. There's absolutely times when generals run their course and need to die. I'm looking at you, homestuck. I don't know if /swco/ could have been saved but there's still plenty of new content and good people willing to talk about it. Fortunately they still allow us these threads to do so.
It always gets storytimed, although I don't think the threads last long unless they're also storytiming the other Star Wars comics from that week.
Fair enough. I've taken to just using readcomiconline since new issues typically show up within a few hours of the win-o. Storytimes are still worthwhile when they become discussion threads.
The threads did get very shitposty after TLJ. I got the distinct feeling a lot of that was crossboarding and people who don't even consume SW comics or cartoons jumping in to talk about the live action movies.
As such I sorta don't blame the mods for nuking it for a while, but now things have calmed down and we have regularly released SW comics and Resistance (and new TCW coming soon) it seems like overkill to keep deleting on sight.
I'm actually kind of excited for the mandolorian
>numale beta c*ck loves to suck from the mouse teet
what a shock
I sure wish Marvel cared about any time period other than the OT.
We just got a bunch of prequel-era comics, though. The Age Of series is moving through eras.
>she actually has been in a stash of the nightsisters living force liquid
cut out those last two and we're good
>when she never even held a gun in the OT
Are you fucking retarded, or blind?
He's fishing for (You)s, if that wasn't already obvious by the fact he quoted about two dozen posts. But I guess you're not wrong about him being retarded.
The clone wars is coming back
We are getting a Dooku audio drama
The padme book was just released
And not to mention the numerous comics we are getting in the clone wars era. And that's just within the past few months.
This isn't 2016 anymore user. The time of Disney "only focusing on the ot" is long over
the qui gon and Kenobi book comes out next week
Fuck I didn't even know about that one.
God I'm so far behind with the books. I need to catch up
heres a excerpt from it starwars.com
it also shows some of qui gon under dooku
But of course Stonetoss bait thread #1138 will reach bump limit
I don't see why we wouldn't be allowed to have a thread for it. Plenty of new comics will be announced along with at least a trailer for Clone Wars S7
>we've reached the point where the Filoni era is going to be milked for nostalgia
it's a bitter victory
>God I'm so far behind with the books. I need to catch up
you're in luck since last year was a huge drought of SW books to the point that with M&A's release next week we'll be matching the number of books released last year. You'd better get to them quickly since this year has Alphabet Squadron still to come, and a bunch of pointless Galaxy's Edge tie-in books, and who knows how many/if any at all ep 9 tie-in books as well they have yet to announce.
>We are getting a Dooku audio drama
it's so fucking disappointing that they didn't spring for the extra cost of getting Dooku and Ventress' TCW voices to be in it.
People will still buy it, or rent access to it, so why spend more?
>Why spend more
They already are getting a full voice cast for different characters. I can't imagine the woman who played ventress would cost very much more than whoever they got
why not just take advantage of already having Dooku's VA there to do nuTCW lines?
>having Dooku's VA there to do nuTCW lines?
I don't understand
The audiodrama is likely recorded at penguin random house studios, the publishers of the Star Wars books/audiobooks while TCW is definitely done in house at lucasfilm. The studios could be on the other sides of the country as far as we know
There's no way for Dooku to not be in the upcoming episodes of the TCW "revival" so why not keep him in the booth longer and just record the lines from the book?
The book would have had to be finished months ago to be able to schedule time for recording the audiobook version and have time to edit it to release in a couple weeks.
Roight so a couple of things
As far as I know Dooku isn't around for Crystal Crisis, Bad Batch, or Siege of Mandalore, which are going to constitute most of the upcoming eps
And these eps, while not fully rendered and animated, were completed years ago. Long before this audiobook was produced probably and likely before the idea even came up.
I was incorrect, according to the wiki stuff, Dooku does appear in the Utapau arc, but the point remains that all of the voice acting for it would have been finished by the time The Clone Wars ended in 2014
probably cause they want dooku too sound younger as main story is right at the beginning of the CW and Dooku might be a kid for most of the flashbacks
heres some voice clips

Jesus, the Star Wars Show is still a thing?
How does one get tickets to Star Wars Celebration?
Obviously it's too late for 2019, but where do I find out when tickets go on sale for 2020?
>Episode IX is two hours of Rey climbing a ladder
I'm down for it.
can't wait for cardinal's return
Also thrawn treason
I don't know. Her ladder acting better be pretty damn intense.
Latest rumor from Star Wars Celebration:
Episode 9 is supposedly called Will of the Force.
Not a huge fan of that, but who knows. We'll find out tomorrow.
I kinda like it. My only gripe is the word "force" being used twice in the trilogy
Yeah force being used
Makes sense, can't think of a better title honestly.
>Galaxy leaves the resistance hanging at the end
Will of the Galaxy is clunkier but it'd fit lel
>solo flopped so plans are cancelled
I'm so salty that we'll probably never get a proper Maul follow up on screen. I enjoyed Solo, but I get why it didn't do well. However, a Maul + Black Sun movie would have been sick.
It was also the first major moment of expanded canon actually mattering to a film. But now we'll never see it again.
I wonder if 4cahn knows how much hype Episode IX will still have?
Maybe they'll get around to it. I think they largely want to just get past Episode IX and pray it succeeds. The future of their films hinges on it. I know they keep saying Rian's new trilogy hasn't been canceled but if IX doesn't pull it off I'll be surprised if he still gets a green light.
At least the side projects are still ongoing, like The Mandalorian. There's another gamble, but perhaps a safer one given Disney seems to really want a Star Wars presence on their Disney+ service.
Mods are anti-star wars for some reason.
There's a Transformers general, yet Star Wars can't have one despite having
>3 ongoing comics
>one ongoing that just finished
>several mini series
>a current cartoon
>an upcoming second cartoon
>a recent webseries
>cartoon web shorts
>a movie coming out every year
Nope, can't have a general about that! We'd better just have 15 concurrent Captain Marvel vs Shazam company war threads.
>And these eps, while not fully rendered and animated, were completed years ago
Is there a source for this? I thought there were new episodes beyond the story reels.
Mandolorian is gonna be a hit unless it's complete garbage.
In fact, I don't see ANY way that Disney+ isn't absolutely fucking massive.
>2+ MCU tv shows
>2+ live-action Star Wars shows
>TCW s7
And that's just the SW and Marvel stuff, not even the Disney stuff. AND there's the massive back catalog.
Let's just hope the content is actually good.
the mod that brought down the ban obviously got triggered by TLJ and went on a power trip about it.
When the Clone Wars comes back, if we can't have a general, then the mods here are being completely unfair
Considering how past attempts to even mention this have, and are still, being erased, I'm surprised that they just haven't decided to purge this thread to keep it from progressing to the point where one can discuss it.
there is no source; it's all been complete speculation since the trailer came out last year. the first actual details we'll get about the season won't happen until Sunday.
Yeah, they'll probably get to Maul eventually. I just wanted it to be a movie. Maybe they'll do a Black Sun show on Disney+ ... you know Ray Park and Sam would be down for it, and they can't be expensive.
I really wanted Solo to be the first of a psuedo-trilogy though.
>Solo
>Boba Fett
>Maul
Each one stands on its own, but has the running thread of Black Sun, with the final obviously dealing with Maul himself. Maybe have Q'ira show up in all three as well.
When TCW comes back, I officially decree it shall be hat day
you and the other autists should really learn from the ban and not bring back any of the old memes. at least one of them was a good enough reason to ban the general in the first place and most of the time the general devolved into circlejerk meme posting by the end of its run.
Yeah, no. It was shitposting like that killing the threads.
>Yea Forums shouldn't have memes
>it should just be arguing about box office dollars
these
Hats are autistic but harmless, but the dickgirl/seventh sister shit was god damn pathetic.
you should know by now how generals work on this shitty fucking site. actualk discussion starts it, then idiots start tripfagging or making extremely obvious posts to differentiate themselves and make a name, memes spring up (mostly forced) and discussion starts slowing, more people try to make it a nice friendly circlejerk after that with the "friends" they know by some kind of name on an anonymous board. Then the general either wallows in a pool of filth forever (/vg/) or they get rightfully banned and/or moved to trash.
Twin Suns was enough conclusion for me
Poor Maul deserves to be paid to rest
>Yea Forums shouldn't have memes
I don't care about memes as long as they're on topic. That hat bullshit was autistic.
>it should just be arguing about box office dollars
No, that can fuck off to Yea Forums where it belongs.
looking at her closer i never realized how much of a mutt she is, kek
Twin Suns was pure kino.
But there's a lot of stuff between TCW and Rebels worth exploring.
Hey now, Witwer is prime talent. He got shot on Battlestar Galactica for being a bitch and then shot on Walking Dead for being an undead bitch! He's multi-versatile!
*laid
I'm reminded of the whole 'back to Winnipeg' thing from the Simpsons. Learning from our mistakes will make no difference if some idiot can get the thread purged by parroting these behaviors in full hindsight just for shits and giggles. And with things as they are, the only way these threads will come back will be to either move it elsewhere (where the cycle will repeat itself), or get someone in upper management who we know will play ball.
>No, that can fuck off to Yea Forums where it belongs.
I agree. My point is just that if jans allow that, there's no reason there shouldn't be star wars threads.
I really prefer Sam’s Maul to the live action
I've got absolutely nothing against Witwier. He's one of the best SW regulars. The dude is passionate for the franchise and knows his shit.
Ray Park is cool too, but he's really only passionate about Maul. I've never gotten the sense that he cares about Star Wars beyond that.
That said, good on him for not being bitter that despite coming back to SW after 20 years his voice has still never been in the movies
Heads up, the Celebration livestream starts tomorrow at 11 AM CT. Here's the schedule:
starwars.com
It all opens with Episode IX at 11 am to noon.
Well then.
Looks like I'll have to fake sick to make it for the Parks panel. Been trying to keep tabs on when the public reservations are finally going live so I can be on top of that as soon as I can.
Why would you want to go right away? It's going to be such a shitfest
Will Warwick be doing as much hosting as he did in 2017? He was the best part of it by far.
Officially, fears that certain environmental elements will be gone by the time things calm down. It's just a feeling that, even with all the stuff that's out about it now, I just can't seem to shake off. Secondly, I'm a retarded madman who wouldn't mind having another premiere notch added to my belt. I've been to a few openings in the past, and wouldn't mind reliving the experience (even though I know that all of the previous trips will very likely pale in comparison to the madness of this one).
That said, I'm still having second thoughts. If it were to happen, it would be strictly for the sights and sounds and less for the attraction(s) themselves; shit I know I'll be able to handle better on my own than with a group.
I don't even know who is hosting this year, but if Davis I hope they let him carry his rocket launcher.
All fair points.
Personally I'm waiting until the hotel opens (which will undoubtedly have an equally crazy opening). I feel like all the elements will still be there at least until then.
I'm getting some conflicting information, however this is what I'm going with
starwars.com
I think the conflicts are because different people host different panels, but Davis is still the main host for the main panels. I'm glad he's back, he's a lot of fun. James Arnold Taylor was a bit too manic for my tastes.
Honestly, that hairstyle would have been a lot better than the cut they gave him for the latter part of Rebels.
Warwick had the best bants of any con host I've ever seen
It would have looked better, no argument, but his original haircut still I think "fit" better for the character. He's an orphan living by his grit and street smarts, so making him scruffier works. It also fits because he was a little shit.
Season 1 Ezra was literally just Space Aladdin. It worked for the kiddier nature of the season, but I'm so glad he grew up.
Episode IX part of the Mural
I mean, that's good artwork, but it sure is dull compared to literally every other section on the thing. I even like the sequels, but bleh
at very first glance I thought Finn's blaster and the lightsaber were another one of those bombers from tlj
>poe, once slated to die, gets to be bigger than finn on the poster
Man, being a traitor just doesn't pay off, does it?
I still don't understand... who's supposed to be holding the saber?
Fuck, same
Yeah really. I remember being the highest level snob and thinking TCW "movie" was the worst thing to ever happen to star wars
But now I think that whole era is one of the best parts of the franchise, rough start that it had
It's on Rey's hip
Based
Ghost Luke! OoooOOoOooOoOoOooOOoOo!
>I even like the sequels
I am glad /swco/ is dead.
>poe, once slated to die
N-nani
he wasn't supposed to live through the TIE crash originally
> idiot is still here wew
Meh, it’s ok I guess but after three movies I still don’t care about them,
Seems like it would be a waste of Oscar Isacc. Too bad he still couldn't save these shit movies.
who are you quoting?
Oh I read that as you were giving news that he was NOW slated to die, like you'd uncovered a leak or something saying he was gonna bite it in IX
>angry that someone has opinions
Fuck off disney shill. You are the epitome of a mental midget.
>someone actually took the time to make this image
Opinions this shit belong on Reddit. Sorry but Yea Forums isn't your hugbox.
Welp, here we go again...
>not realizing that reddit is obsessed with the prequels
There is nothing wrong with that image unless you are a pretentious Rianfag.
>out of context
You realize that image is from Kylo's account of the story, right?
You would know. Now go back to whence you came you Sequel shiteater.
And?
Because Luke never actually swung at him.
He had the intention too
>jedi has a flaw
wow, rian sure is a hack. no one else would do that
Also, he didn't have the intention to swing. He had an impulse, then stopped himself.
Apparently the actor was good enough that this convinced them to keep him alive. He's like the biggest breakaway from the whole thing. Unfortunately Thandie Newton wasn't able to save Val although her acting had John Kasdan lamenting she died so early in the movie.
Yay the thread is getting shitted up cause an idiot can't get over a movie
He's just so fun, appearing in most of the side material. Got his own comic, was a big part of the Resistance cartoon. Kind of regrettable we didn't get a Finn cameo at least patrolling the Colossus, maybe showing his discomfort at the tactics shown by his fellow troopers. His first battle was on Jakku, though.
And this is why we can't have nice things.
PT vs OT vs ST is almost as bad as company wars.
We all know that true Star Wars fans hate all the movies equally.
PT vs OT is one thing. However don't think the ST is anything but a colossal pile of shit.
A Finn cameo might have been nice, but a little too fan-servicey. SW does that a LOT - like Chewie in RotS/TCW, Leia and Lando in Rebels, etc - and it was refreshing to not have forced cameos.
>my opinions are valid but yours are not
you've got a real solid lack of self-awareness. you kids are too young to realize that OT fans felt EXACTLY the same way about the PT 20 years ago.
>wow, rian sure is a hack.
Glad we can both agree on one thing.
>using twitter as a source for literally anything
holy shit be less desperate
>RLM fans felt EXACTLY the same way about the PT 20 years ago.
Fixed that for you kid.
Nah fuck off cunt.
>he thinks RLM existed in 1999
>he thinks TPM was as hated as TLJ
Can we not let this go to movie wars . Celebration is about everything Star Wars So Fuck off if u don't have anything good to say
And star wars belongs on Yea Forums now nut up or shut up.
yeah its not like theres fucking comics idiot
Even if you think they have different levels of hate, it's a matter of degree. Are you really going to go to bat for a 5/10 film against a 4/10 film?
This board is for comics AND cartoons, and Star Wars doesn't have those and never has.
Celebration isn't about comics. Plus the current comics all suck. Wake me up when there is a new Vader.
TLJ isn't better than any Star Wars film. Mainline or not.
Okay, so it's clear that you're just shitposting
This is the risk of having your threads here. If you don't like it, then take your business elsewhere. The negative attention it gets from both idiots and upper management (and idiots in upper management) is too great, no matter how relevant or on-topic things are.
Yeah, if only there were three panels about cartoons.
And before TLJ, it was AotC that was the worst.
And before that, it was RotJ.
Something always has to be the worst.
Yeah, the Rebels episode with Threepio and Artoo where Sabine tells Artoo he can join their crew anytime was a bit much.
>Stop shitting on the Sequel Trilogy!
Thanks, user. That's a nice handy panel schedule. I hate how none of these panel schedules seems complete, they all have some different stuff.
starwars.com
you're a fucking moron. She held AND fired a gun in each OT movie. She provided covering fire for Luke in a new hope, She shot at Storm Troopers in ESB to try and save Han, and she killed storm troopers in Return of the Jedi
The post is bait, user.
Ha, looks like Ren Ben welded his helmet back together after he got pissed and smashed it because Daddy Snoke mocked it.
Guess this means the mask is coming back.
we always new it was coming back since the first leaks
but him and Rey are regressing because they got hurt by each other during TLJ
Rey covers up the scar she got in the throne room and Ben has the mask back and is back to staring at grandpa's helmet . his kill the past was an act
>Rey isn't going to have a double bladed lightsaber
>Kylo Ren is back to mask shenanigans
I'm worried this film will play it too safe, lads. It's my biggest issue with JJ doing 7 and it looks like he hasn't learned anything since then.
You don't have to like 8, but at least it felt entirely fresh.
I shouldn't do this because of what happened earlier in the thread but...
>due to how awful TLJ was received JJ is reverting things as hard as he can back to the end of TFA
>the in-universe reason is this is because the events of the movie traumatized the characters too
I want to laugh but it also hurts.
Kylo goes sees a crazy dark side spider oracle who leaches off a baby
> too safe
>but at least it felt entirely fresh.
This meme again. TLJ was just ESB starring RotJ throne room scene
How do anons get so insanely triggered every time a woman does anything worthy of note in literally any piece of Yea Forums media? Even when it's in character for her to do so.
And you fuckers wonder why people call you incels.
Why are you replying to blatant bait that is hours old? No wonder everyone calls you a mental midget.
I'm pretty sure JJ would revert them back anyway, because he wants to get the characters back to how he had them.
Hiring Rian was fine, but giving the movies to different directors without a strong central storyteller was a mistake.
In what way is TLJ "just ESB"?
Disney + interfact . Disney plus comes out in November
I dunno user, no one's ever called me a mental midget except for a mental midget that replied to me a few minutes ago...
alphabet squadron ending Leak imgur.com
Looks like Netflix with better category selection.
I'm all for it.
I can't decide if I think Terry's art is shit or not.
Ship is the Galaxy's Edge First order TIE Echelon and this is Resistance Intersystem Transport from Rise of the Resistance.
>Rey goes to "train" under Luke like Luke under Yoda
>Both have Darkside cave experiences
>Rebellion I mean resistance is on the run after a victory against the empire I mean FO
>Side MCs go on a trip to cloud city I mean casino planet
>Rebels get wrecked on Salt Hoth
Ben goes to see Darkside spider oracle in IX
is ben getting a dark side Yoda
Hopefully Disney will fix the Hulu interface too.
I don't understand why they didn't just hold on to the TIE Reaper.
>Kathleen Kennedy taking the stage right now
msavi.stream
ALL Star Wars backlog available on Day 1. Fucking based.
I FUCKING LOVE KATHLEEN KENNEDY! IF YOU DON'T YOU ARE A VIRGIN INCEL!
>The Mandalorian is a Day 1 show
Welp, guess I'm subscribing
Same
Fucked up, this shit is.
>she never even held a gun in the OT
BIG YIKES
fucking why
Just pirate
you fell for the troll and are dumber than him
>why pay for content you consume
Also because it's $10 a month for a service I'll use regularly and the time spent pirating is worth more than the money I'll spend on the app.
And because I'm not poor.
To show support
idiots like you are why disney is allowed to ruin good things and become a monopoly.
I don't care because I like Disney
Also TLJ was good don't (you) me
>paying for things you like is bad
Okay
Also
>monopoly
why do people continue to use words they don't understand?
Yeah it was fellow Zoomer. Fuck the patriarchy the force is female!
forgetting the Woman who guards the midichlorians
forgetting The Mother and daughter who balance out the son and father
Why did Disney shove women into that episode?
You're right. The OT had different directors but it was still Lucas' vision throughout. You can even change who does the teleplay and so on, but you need a visionary for this kind of thing even if different people help realize it. You get this with TCW and while quality varies in parts it overall just works.
You can't round robin a major motion picture trilogy, or you shouldn't anyway.
>People complain about Disney promoting the SJW agenda and how they wish for George to bring it back to the good old days where nothing was political
>George Lucas voted for Hillary during the 2016 elections

oh my god
those designs aren't complete garbage
It's like if a U-Wing made precious tender love to a CR90.
>Mark Hamill not at celebration
Hmmm...
>alphabet squadron ending
it's nearer the start where the MC is being introduced as an Imperial defector.
Oh you can tell he’s absolutely bitter with Star Wars after TLJ
Super bitter
He's been bitter since TFA. I don't know why people act like he was fine with everything until TLJ.
Kylo smashing his helmet as a metaphor for him abandoning his obsessive worship of the past was one of the few solid choices Rian made. I'm going to guess JJ brought it back just because he likes the helmet, with no other thought put into why Kylo would want to glue it back together after smashing and ditching it.
>Hiring Rian was fine
Wrong, Disney shill. Rian should never be allowed near a movie again. He should never even be allowed to WATCH movies. Fuck him and fuck you for supporting him.
>Kylo just glues his old mask back together instead of getting a new one or just going maskless
>Rey just glues the Skywalker lightsaber back together instead of taking the opportunity to make a new one
Good god is Abrams really this creatively bankrupt
I mean yes I know the guy's a derivative hack but he's handed opportunities and just throws them away in favor of more nostalgia, and in this case we're now in the realm of "nostalgia for TFA" which was itself a movie based entirely around nostalgia for something else. What kind of nostalgiaception shit is Abrams trying to pull?
He's back worshiping Vader . Both Him and Rey are regressing because their both hurt from how close they got in TLJ . Kylo has his mask , Rey fixed the saber and is hiding the scar she got in the throne room . Remember Rey's scar is in the shape of two hands reaching out like Rey and Ben's first Force bond scene in the Hutt
This. He was already disappointed that TFA didn't take the opportunity to reunite Luke, Leia and Han and killed Han off so that a sequel couldn't do it. Then TLJ had its own disappointments, but basically he's been annoyed from the beginning.
I'm actually kind of digging this. Sure it's derivative but at least it's more "inspired by the blockade runner" rather than just straight up "the blockade runner but recolored"
I'm largely okay because it's not this weird POS.
TFA had some really ugly designs. Everything that wasn't just a tweaked version of an OT ship looked horrible. Ironically the only new ship I thought looked okay was the quadjumper that existed solely to get blown up.
Wait, she nabbed both pieces before running? I tried rewatching that part of the movie but got bored and started skipping around so I may have missed it. It did surprise me that the Supremacy did lose that portion of its "wing".
I don't feel any particular animosity to TLJ. I've never gone on about how it murdered my family and raped my dog. I will just say that while I've watched every other Star Wars movie multiple times I've only ever seen TLJ once, and can't even get into rewatching just the few scenes here. That's the worst condemnation I can think of.
I do love Kylo Ren's shuttle the screams "overcompensation" with the wings. I mean goddamn the pointless monstrosity of them just to make finding large enough docking bays with proper clearance all the harder.
I feel you, I think it's the weakest of the movies but it's not a crime against humanity. As it was I was never invested in the setting TFA set up so TLJ wasn't a disappointment so much as a reaffirmation that the ST is kind of dull and doesn't have much to offer.
But yeah, Rey apparently grabbed both halves. She was holding them at the end when Leia reassures her everything will be okay. I think we all expected her to use the crystal to make a new lightsaber rather than just bandaging that one, which is lazy as fuck both in-universe and out-of-universe.
>I don't feel any particular animosity to TLJ
Tell us what it feels like to have no testicles, beta bitch
Yeah, I’m not mad about it at all. I was just bored to shit. I also thought about giving it another look, but it’s just boring.
>That art; those manhands.
You truly feel empowered letting Rian Johnson have such power over your emotions? Oh yeah, you're a true alpha wolf. Filoni must be so jealous.
Yeah, pretty accurate for once. They finally found someone who can trace.
It'd be pretty hilarious if she just welds a ring over the break, like all the crap Kylo Ren did to his saber with the wires and shit hanging out. The little shit has zero discipline and no self-respect for himself or his weapon.
Did the show actually reference Abeloth?
No. Not yet.
No. The EU added her to the Mortis family after the fact.
After the emasculating propaganda-fest that was The Last Jedi, how can any of you still care about Star Wars?
blue titties t-b-h
Is this you?
Unless it's specifically about the comics and cartoons, it doesn't need to be brought up here.
There's got to be some pottery involved here, surely? But what do you think it meant?
chalk it up to coincidence honestly
Inky's big thing is knowledge, right? He wanted to know literally everything he possibly could about the force and that was essentially what turned him to the dark side, being denied that knowledge. For the Son it was power, he wanted access to well, reality, I suppose in order to expand his power. Filoni being privy to so much of Lucas's ideas about the force I honestly think it must be more than coincidence.
Well, yeah, but then he just sat around throwing books while spouting vapid Yea Forums critiques until Jocasta Nu flipped her shit and screwed over her entire stealth mission. Which was actually pretty fucking funny.
But that screencapped post is 100% correct
>OH WOW THIS IS SUCH SHIT
>no no ignore him
>FUCK THIS ONLY FAGGOTS LIKE THIS
>just ignore him
>I BET WHOEVER LIKES THIS HAS AIDS AND GAY BUTT CANCER
>okay that does it SHUT THE FUCK UP
Literally /swco/
why are you in this thread then?
anyone have aphra?
Man, we can't even give her away.
She got delayed until the 24th for some reason.
>He had the intention too
He didn't though.
This is the type of shit that ruined /swco/. Yea Forums is already bad enough, we don't need anymore of this horseshit here
Asking why someone who hates star wars is in a star wars thread is horseshit?
No, the fact we can't have a simple discussion because someone is assblasted about the last movie. Can we move on, please without derailing the threads and turning them into a shitfest?
Was t their an implication that none of that actually happened and it was just force fuckery,
Anyone seen the latest midnight edge video? Basically going over how KK decided to fuck over all of JJ plans for Rians for whatever reason and the while trilogy really had and has no plan or goal other than to make Disney money which Lucasfilm as a whole hasn’t been
Lucasfilm in general did not like what JJ did in TFA. He excluded them from a good portion of the film.
And when they made what they wanted it divided the fan base and slowly killed the their most valuable ip
>divided the fan base
It was already divided since the release of the prequels. I'm pretty sure Disney and Lucasfilm anticipated this.
>slowly killed the their most valuable ip
How? Excluding Solo flopping, how is SW dying?
Watch the video, the toy sales are tanking, there not making money, the new characters just aren’t catching on like they hopes, solo flopping is actually a huge deal all things considering and they can’t salvage any of the OT characters because they killed them off and fisher died
>Anyone seen the latest midnight edge video?
Don't shill your videos dude
>JJ plans
Did he even have any? The only indication I've ever seen of this is Daisy Ridley implying it, but both JJ and Rian have said JJ had no real plans beyond 7 which was why Rian had to come up with shit himself.
>Watch the video
I did. It's extremely biased and mostly spouts things from Yea Forums. Considering some of the leaks in their other videos come from Yea Forums, I'm not surprised a bit.
>the toy sales are tanking
Toy sales in general are tanking. And Star Wars toys are still doing better than Marvel toys.
>the new characters just aren’t catching on like they hopes
The most popular characters by a large margin are OT characters because they're so iconic. Not even prequel characters come close to touching them.
>solo flopping is actually a huge deal
It is and it isn't. While it flopped, it wasn't considered a major catastrophe like it could've. The project was already over budget and mismanaged. What's interesting about it was KK/Lucasfilm asked Disney if they could release it in December but Disney voted no.
>they can’t salvage any of the OT characters because they killed them off and fisher died
It's pretty clear they killed them off to make their own stories with their own characters.
Rian and Pablo mention there werent any concrete plans with the ST
Solo flopping really only means anything if Episode IX also flops.
But if (and when) Episode IX makes $1.5 billion or more, it'll prove that the brand is still alive and well.
As for toys... merch just ain't what it used to be. Apparently the memes are true about kids these days.
>merch just ain't what it used to be
Oh balls
What are you trying to say?
>It's pretty clear they killed them off to make their own stories with their own characters.
Of course, THAT'S why they've been doing nothing but retreading the OT
Not with their characters. Other points I would agree with you but not characterization. Rey is not a Luke/Anakin or Leia clone. She's her own character. Same with Finn, Poe and Rose.
Whoops
>Did he even have any?
Not only did he himself say he didn't, he's well-known for setting up plot points that he has no plans for and on multiple occasions (Lost for example) left it for other people to try to figure out how to solve the mystery he'd set up.
There's a reason the "mystery box" meme has followed him around for years.
Fuck off Disney apologist
What's your game m8, are you trying to keep SW threads alive by trolling them? You just bumped this thread from the very last place in the catalog on page 10, I fucking saw that.
TODAY'S THE DAY BOYS
Stream link?
A capital Ugly?
I don’t hate it.
>star wars hype is back
it's officially dead after ep9 hits theaters, though.
If either 9 or the Mandalorian are good, then we will have enough momentum to carry us until the next big thing
they are putting all movies on hold after 9, not just anthology. the streaming service has to make enough "good" SW shows to keep the hype going and I have no hope in that whatsoever.
>until the next big thing
Could be a while.
Best case scenario is 9/Mandalorian hype is big enough to carry us until TCW S7, which then caries us to Resistance S3 which will hopefully be finding it's footing by then, which will carry us into Mandalorian S2, which finally will carry us to the new movies 3/4 years from now.
It's possible.
bantha dicks
Another thread over and done with. Treat lightly on your next move. Be prepared to keep your shit separated (comic/toon stuff on Yea Forums, movie stuff on Yea Forums with all the sneedfuckers, etc.)
I'd say take five, but it seems there's a Sith thread already up for the time being
Those are some military-grade rose-colored glasses you're wearing, mate.
That's not what that term means
nobody cares about resistance outside of actual paid shills
Your mom cares about resistance!
Guess this means it's guaranteed an S4, if not an S5.
My whole day's schedule just got thrown off because I finally realized all the panel times were given in CDT, not Eastern.
"Noun. rose-colored glasses pl (plural only) Used other than with a figurative or idiomatic meaning: glasses that are tinted in a pink or rose shade. (idiomatic) An optimistic perception of something; a positive opinion; seeing something in a positive way, often thinking of it as better than it actually is."
Thinking that Disney succeeding with the IP is the best case scenario is thinking of them as better than they actually are.
Nobody cared about Rebels either
She’s had worse. And that’s accounting for getting tossed into space being apparently even worse than it’s usually described.
No user you are misunderstanding the definition. Speculating about the quality of something to yet be released isn't looking at it though Rose tinted glasses because it's not out yet. That phrase doesn't work in the future tense. Its typically only used when remembering something or observing something current, get it?
Rebels had threads weekly to anticipate, then discuss, the latest episode. Resistance barely managed to have monthly threads, with very little discussion.
I'll repeat myself.
>Thinking that Disney succeeding with the IP is the best case scenario is thinking of them as better than they actually are.
That's because mods delete them now.
If season 2 of resistance ends up good, more people will watch it. The show isn't destined to fail because season 1 sucked
>The show isn't destined to fail because season 1 sucked
Season one left me with no desire to see season two.
People said the same about Rebels and TCW. Season 1 is historically rocky for SW shows. Be patient.
WHERE IS THE EP 9 PANEL???
Not until like 1am est
it's on right now you idiots
colbert is hosting it and it's cringy as fuck already
...
>People said the same...
I didn't.
Season one ended with most of the cast hurtling blindly through hyperspace aboard a colossal ship, yet I have no interest in seeing where, when, or how they pop out, nor in what they do next.
