Actually the film was written by a woman, more like some exec from Hasbro or Paramount found out and they chucked Memo in. If anything Memo manages to make the romance more obvious.
Seriously speaking, I have no idea how they managed to make Charlie and Bumblebee have so much chemistry, props to everyone involved.

What's the best Transformers animated intro and why is it G1 S2?

We did get a comic preview, dunno about the Netflix show, but from the last I heard about it, prospects don't look good. The actual good cartoon is Cyberverse, so I don't know what the actual deal is with WFC, but Hasbro should stop partnering with Machinima/Rooster Teeth, the Prime Wars Trilogy were maybe the hackiest TF media produced in the past 5 years.

Because it actually looks like an intro this time? First intro was a showcase, third intro looked bad (though I dig the tune) and the fourth intro is the third one with animation from the commercials.

Scarlett's Strike Force issue 4

Synopsis

In a brand-new Terrordrome base, constructed on the strange new moon that Cobra have launched into orbit, Cobra Commander consults with Crystal Ball as to the timeline of "the emergence". The twisted mystic reports that they now require only blood "steeped in chaos and angst" in order to begin proceedings, and promises that G.I. Joe will deliver it in short order...

On Lemuria, the Joes are indeed readying for a journey to confront Cobra at their moonbase. As they prepare, Scarlett explains to Roadblock that she will be taking direct command of the mission, noting that as leaders, responsibility for Spitfire and Salvo's insubordination and the disappearance of Snake Eyes, Helix, and Skywarp ultimately falls to them. Among the rest of the team, tensions still simmer between Grand Slam, now equipped with a new field-ready wheelchair, and Rock 'n Roll, while Doc remarks to Quick Kick on Friday's absence—the primitive being hasn't been cleared for the field, and is staying home with a stack of martial-arts movies to "study". After the final team member, Gung-Ho, gives an emotional farewell to Shipwreck, the squad loads up aboard the Defiant space shuttle, which rockets up out of the ocean and into Earth orbit.

Once in range of the Cobramoon, the team descends from the shuttle using JUMP Packs, but are almost immediately confronted by Destro, piloting his Despoiler and backed up by the entire Dreadnok gang on weaponized V.E.N.O.M.-tech hover-bikes. Their speed and flight make it impossible for G.I. Joe to land any hits, and Rock 'n Roll, equipped only with his short-range laser shotgun, soon finds himself smashed by Road Pig's sledgehammer and pinned down under heavy fire. Despite bemoaning that it's Rock who needs saving, Grand Slam steps up to mount a triumphant rescue, his new wheelchair transforming into a treaded battle machine bristling with lasers. The hail of weapons fire makes short work of the Dreadnoks' bikes, while Destro flies off in retreat, refusing to help his underlings. Back at the Terrordrome, he attempts to shirk responsibility for the failure of the Dreadnoks, but is berated by Cobra Commander for his cowardice and poor leadership. With the Joes still at large, she sends Storm Shadow, Tempest, and Doctor Mindbender to deal with them.

Outside, as the Joes dole out handcuffs for their new captives, a grateful Rock 'n Roll tries to thank Grand Slam, but turns the mood sour when he tries to ask for a lift on the weaponized wheelchair. Meanwhile, Gung-Ho sets up a transceiver to make contact with Lemuria, and lets Dial Tone know that they've safely arrived on the moon. The team soon sets out towards Cobra's base, but spot unexpected interlopers observing them from behind nearby rocks: Duke, Snake Eyes, Helix, and Skywarp! Duke explains that they've been sent by the U.S. military as a "Plan B", but Scarlett is furious, both at the intrusion on her mission and the team members "stolen" from G.I. Joe. The two squads face off, but are interrupted when Doctor Mindbender, standing atop a nearby outcropping, reveals his presence, and proudly announces his Venom Vapor!

The magenta mist pours out of holes in the ground, and quickly envelops the Joes. Doc is able to identify the mist as a psychotropic gas, but it's too late to prevent the substance affecting them. As everyone descends into an angry daze, Snake Eyes and Quick Kick violently resume their rivalry, and soon all of both Duke and Scarlett's team are at each other's throats, fighting and arguing. Even Skywarp, unaffected by the gas, joins the scrum, taking out his ongoing frustrations at being treated like an idiot by the humans. As the scrap continues, Shipwreck attempts to make contact with Gung-Ho via the transceiver, but misinterprets a yell to "gimme some space" as being directed at him, leaving him sad and hurt.

Elsewhere, the Venom Vapor has plunged Rock 'n Roll deep into another of the traumatic visions he has suffered since Crystal Ball placed a mark upon his forehead. The battle around him seems to fade away, replaced by fire and destruction, and Rock finds himself grabbed by the shadowy soldiers of chaos he has glimpsed before. The mysterious figures carry him away, his howls and screams for help going unheard...

Although Scarlett's Strike Force was cancelled before even the release of the first issue (see details here), Aubrey Sitterson had completed scripts through to issue #4, which he later released via his Patreon page. According to the script, issue #4 was intended to feature fill-in art from Ilias Kyriazis, who had previously illustrated Sitterson's two-part First Strike tie-in.

Continuity notes

Crystall Ball wields the antediluvian dagger and bowl stolen during the events of First Strike, and last seen in issue #1.

Crystal Ball first placed the symbol of Chaos upon Rock 'n Roll's forehead in G.I. Joe vol. 5 #3, and he subsequently suffered traumatic visions in issue #5 and the First Strike one-shot. In this issue, under the influence of the Venom Vapor, Grand Slam delivers the line "You broke me! You crippled me! You monster!", as seen in the first of those visions.

G.I. Joe references

The Terrordrome is a classic G.I. Joe playset, and had never previously appeared in this continuity.

Additionally, a whole host of vehicles from the A Real American Hero toyline appear, including the Defiant space shuttle, JUMP Packs, Destro's Despoiler, and the Triple 'T', which Grand Slam's new wheelchair is revealed to transform into.

Grand Slam wears a version of his original toy's uniform for the first time in this continuity.

Other trivia

Sitterson's original outline for the issue called for V.E.N.O.M. themselves to accompany Destro and the Dreadnoks into battle, although they are absent from the completed script.

A bit derivative of Star Wars and the plot becomes rather unfocused once Optimus Prime bites it BUT that animation, that's score... It's so fucking rad.

Its basically the G1 toy with better articulation. Its okay. But he scales with Legends figures, and if you have other Combiners he just looks like pic related.

He’d be the $35 Devastator. $65 is the full size one.

I liked the Bayformer designs at first - all the excessive detail looked cool in a high-budget movie, and the CGI was top tier. But then I quickly realized that it looks like a complete mess in any action scene because they don't have a proper outline and most of them are colorless, so they're only good for posters.
I think Bumblebee pretty much perfected the movie Transformer designs.

Since I have a mostly complete collection of Prime Wars, I prefer the big one.

But if you’re less of a stickler for scale or are just buying a few, the tiny one is cute and decent.

Since I bought the small one first by accident, I just put them in front of the big one as the untransformed team. Normally I only buy one of each Combiner, so they just stay as a Combiner. I gotta say it looks good, but I’m not exactly gonna go buy another Abominus, Defensor, Victorion, etc.

Honestly, its all down to taste. Just remember a few things.
1) AE ship times are slow. Think 1-3 months.
2) Refunds are easy, so long as you take a picture. Coincidentally I bought a folding electric photo box from them which I used in the picture.
3) The phone app has coupons, sales, and even items the computer doesn’t. I dunno if they’re gathering your location or whatever and that’s the incentive, but it is better. Recommendations are sometimes better on the computer though.
4) Check history of the item and seller, especially review pics. A LOT of sellers are actually the same people, keep browsing and eventually you may find the same item but with in-hand photos and enough feedback to know they are legit.
5) Items aren’t always named. Using an example, punching in terms like “Slaanesh” and “Daemonette” looking up knockoff Warhammer models may get no results. But it puts the Warhammer KO seller in recommendations, and then you go to their store and find the models listed as “Hammer Deamon” and see the item is only for sale twice a week, and the rest of the time is hidden from searches and listed as “out of stock” so you can just add it to your cart when you find it and wait for it to be in stock again.
6) Check shipping. Some sellers look like they are undercutting others, but the difference is shipping and they are pocketing the difference. Usually the item costs the same amount or more when you factor that in.

Also you can find shit cheaper sometimes by luck.
Overwatch Figma Reaper KOs run $40 usually, but I have one in my cart that is $12 with. $12 shipping.

Well, yeah. They are establishing not only a prewar Cybertron that comes after having them have souls and a divine creator was added to canon, but also the reasons for the war which makes Decepticons less lulzy evil as a whole. The way I see it, your options are:
1) A lot of deaths and character arcs. See G2, Bay, IDW 1.
2) Talk talk talk talk, and hang out, make an illustrated novel as a character study and/or allegory. See the better parts of IDW 1 and the Bumblebee movie.
3) Batshit insanity, see Sakamoto and UK comics.
4) Recurring filler. See G1 cartoon.

These are not mutually exclusive, and each has positives and negatives.

Subjective based on taste and desires.

I’d say G1 for casual fun, Beast Wars for action, Masterforce for deep lore. Prime for a decent amount of all three, but not as fulfilling in any.

There’s only three fights and two chases in the movie. Bumblebee spends more time playing music than fighting anyone.

Its a character exploration full of dialogue done right.

But yeah, Marvel was like that a lot too. Starscream spent more time learning about Christmas with humans than any fight he was in. Mostly because fights were compartmentalized and dialogue was compressed though.

To be honest, that style is my preference.

As I see it, the movie felt like it was made by someone who actually read the comics, Charlie in particular is reminiscent of those comic humans.

I'm not even sure she was that neurodivergent. A misfit more than anything, really.

She’s on the lightest end of the autism spectrum, its even stated she has a hard time reading the room and figuring out the context for facial expressions. But she learned it by contact with the rest of the Lost Light, so she’s very light on the spectrum. Pic related comes to mind.

In the middle you have Uprising Transmutate who has a very hard time figuring out other beings, being unable to comprehend trustworthiness of others since she just assumes everyone is on the level, and cannot understand the motivations of others.

Further down we have that moon rover character in NüIDW, who sounds like the kind who would put their hands over their ears and scream if in a crowd but one on one would just seem like they have a severe case of OCD.

Finally you have Beast Wars Transmutate, who would probably be taken care of as an adult by their parents for life due to having the mind of a toddler.

I dunno. I like the idea of characters having the same name, especially ones that have human word names.

There should only be one Orion Pax, anyone named Megatron should be deriving their name from someone else, but if you’re a car naming yourself Brakelight or Pitstop then it shouldn’t come as a shock when other characters have to say “Red Pitstop” or “Fem Brakelight”.

But yeah, after becoming baby Ghidorah she should probably rename herself something more in the theme.

Honestly when you get right down to it I really read his comics for the aggressive robot murder and mostly bitchin artwork. Same reason I love deaths head and dragons claws

One thing he has over other writers is that not even his favorites are safe. Like he kills someone you liked and you are not even mad.

Bay created her, and she was just a two-headed version of Swoop who was blue and had no robot mode.

In IDW she was a yellow Camien using Strongarm’s body type. She hired Barricade and the Dinobots to help her escort some Sparks that were ready to be turned into babby Cybertronians. Bludgeon killed Barricade, injured the Dinobots, destroyed the Sparks, and mutated her using Trypticon’s Energon blood into a hydra.

Slag invited her to join the Dinobots and she accepted, replacing Grimlock who Slag had kicked out in order to assume leadership of the group.

Even though she’s depicted as being still in robot mode but with her head split in half on an extended neck and forced into a quadruped gait, she’d probably just be a hybrid of Strongarm and Power Of The Primes Hun-grrr if she got a toy.

Just remember as the show progressed that Hasbro meddled, forcing them to axe most of the payoff to the alien race they encounter, as well as totally rebuild their ideas for Transmetal 2 Optimus, Megatron, and Tigerhawk from the ground up then just axe the series and move on to the tonally different Beast Machines cartoon, then axed the followup cartoon Transtech.

Also, most Beast Wars characters are not in the cartoon. To stay on budget they couldn’t waste time doing the G1 thing of showcase episodes.

We don’t see her again after that as far as I know.

At some point the Dinobots got some Sparks to Trypticon, who decided he liked humans and was serving as mankind’s embassy on Cybertron. When Unicron was headed for Cybertron Trypticon teleported to Earth to keep them safe and lived at Mount Rushmore for a while where the Dinobots protected him. Then Unicron attacked Earth, and Trypticon left the Sparks behind to help repel him and was killed by a direct hit from an eye laser. The Dinobots survived, they weren’t with him.
As for the other Primitives, Sky-lynx died with Trypticon, and Predaking somehow came back to life and helped GI Joe fight Unicron’s army. Slash wasn’t in IDW, as far as I know her only story appearance is in the Earth Wars game.

Slag was the only Dinobot to really get any attention after the arc. Strafe may have shown up in the background, but I didn’t notice it and I’m pretty sure she was never shown going back into robot mode.

Strongarm did show up though, with three small speaking parts too!

I've started playing the video games, I'm going to go back and watch the Gen 1 show, and I really wish I had come away from the film with anything but that being the biggest thing that stuck out to me.

YES, I actually did think it was a very cute film about two broken people healing each other and parting ways, but one being a robot plus 80's nostalgia and added Transformers.
The underwater scene basically spells it out. That's when both realize they love each other.

But I think its because Bumblebee kind of acts like a mentally handicapped child after Blitzwing explodes that I didn’t catch on. I thought of it being like the relationship she and Otis would never have, and by getting closer to her step-family and mom Bumblebee could leave her life more full than when he entered it. With Bumblebee getting back Dad Prime, so its not a tragedy for him either.

I first watched the film on Bluray due to a hatred of the cinema and I came into to it actually resisting the idea of it being a romance story because I thought it was just another case of what occurred with the cartoon a few years back with Arcee and her human.

From the moment Bumblebee started to come out of his shell I started to see it. The underwater scene spells it out, but from the beginning it borrowed a lot of ideas from mainline romance stories, specifically the alien man/woman from the stars genres. Being written by a woman, the way their character interactions were written very quickly ramped up in terms of emotional intimacy, not just friendship but actually borderline romance. It's little shit that can spell the difference two people coming off as friends and as people who want to be together, and oddly I actually blame the fact that Bumblebee is a transformer for all the extra implications. If he was human looking, they probably would have changed or re-positioned a lot of the physical contact that the two of them had, and the way they positioned themselves together.

I'm largely playing through as Bumblebee with fist weapons. I like how much of a little goober he is and the bosses are fucking insane on screen.

All of Cybertron, Prime's hologram, the epilogue and some of the introductory scenes were added in reshoots.

To be fair, Bee's mental deficiency through out the movie is because his memory banks were fried. Dude didn't even know what his battle mask was until it suddenly activated.
He acted slightly different after his memory banks rebooted, but was still sort of childish, but it could be argued that's his character: fun, bombastic, and daring.

So just context for the adventure and more of Bumblebee's original voice?

Honestly, it's complicated. Bumblebee did want to be caressed by Charlie in the first place, and he is several thousands or millions of years old.

That was always fucking odd to think about. How old he actually is compared to how he acts in some continuities.

That happens with all transformers, it's best not to think about it too hard. However, I don't really see anything wrong with Charlie, they really did help each other in a healthy way.

It was perfectly healthy and the robo lust only entered the picture late.

Ok, cartoons...there might be a guide for G1, you have to watch all of Beast Wars. Really it boils down to personal preference but I recommend Cyberverse, it's on Youtube and it's short, it just started last year.

It's really great. Grimlock and Wheeljack are a bit difficult to handle, but the rest of the boys handle like a breeze. Once you beat the story, you can play the challenge where you gun down Insecticons on max difficulty, to farm resources and items. Have fun~

Watching a video about Woodrow Wilson, and sorta thinking about my autistic Kreon stories. What are some character traits, policies, or consequences that would blur the lines for politician characters? Namely:

>Xaaron, the idealist who becomes jaded and pragmatic over time, illegally founds the paramilitary group known as the Wreckers, eventually succeeds Warpath during a time when both the Autobots and Decepticons are having respective succession crises/civil wars, appoints Optimus as the religious leader (the position of Prime gets split into admin/military/religious offices), later loses the election to Windblade

I think Xaaron starts off in a lower govt position dealing with laws or sth. He's like if you combined the most boringest traits of IDW Prowl and Ultra Magnus but made him just as important. Just need story ideas to illustrate these character traits/changes without the story just telling you what to think

In any case, if I go through with Optimus getting killed by Megatron, it would be like a grim necessity sorta thing, where Megatron thinks he has no choice. "There's always a choice, Megatron", etc. Kinda cliche but this would be the tipping point, where Megatron the statesman becomes Megatron the butcher. This would again, also start the war, which is a gigantic nightmare to deal with.

Think we'll ever get something kreo or block related? I was reading up on block town and I like the concept of combining building blocks with transformer figures. Like imagine buying something like a siege figure with a mini base or weapon or robot you can build out of bricks.

Not him but that would have done wonders for Kreo, Hasbro should have planned that better. Imagination is the limit, especially if you could use Kreo to expand Titans like Metroplex.

The Construct-Bot line was fun before all the joints self-destructed. The weapons used 5mm pegs so they were compatible with many regular Transformers.

Main characters are Bumblebee and his new character sidekick who is a newborn that may or may not be prewar Rumble. Megatron and Optimus are both senators, the Decepticons began as the “Arisen” who want to end the very Communist-style social control of the Autobot government.

Art is hit and miss depending on your tastes. Every character is a 100% copy of the current toys, down to screw holes and wrist gaps.

Expect it to actually be WAR For Cybertron by Autumn, not now.

The colonies are all basically the middle east in terms of stability and peace, Cybertron is only at peace via strict population control and Energin rationing so nobody can spare it for firing guns. Megatron wants to expand and conquer other worlds to improve them with Cybertronian culture as well as strip them of Energon, Optimus wants an isolationist Cybertron that lets in refugees so long as they leave quickly and leave their technological advances behind when they do.

There hasn’t been much complaining about that since neither side is an overt allegory for modern politics. Both sides are a mix of ideologies, and Bumblebee talks shit about anyone who joins a faction in general.

The animals introduced by refugees were spared instead of being wiped out when they left because they are useful. Wheeljack, being a scientist tasked with maintaining Cybertron’s infrastructure, is aware of the decision-making process of this.

Its mentioned all the colonies are warzones yet Cybertron itself isn’t at war with anyone so its likely with themselves and each other.

I only remember the first clearly. But Megatron flicked a guy played by Bay himself so hard he flew offcamera which would likely be harder than being run over and thus fatal, and in the pointless desert crap with Scorponok he killed like half the soldiers.

If you're a beginner on a tight budget, there's no shame in getting a Weijiang KO desu. They're cheap, well-made and they look impressive (because they're usually upscaled from the originals), so it's a decent start at a decent price.
