I mean yea I love the show but does anyone else think there were other shows deserving of such an award?
What does Yea Forums think of SU;Nom for peadbody award?
The fuck is a peabody award? I've literally never heard of it before.
>does anyone else think there were other shows deserving of such an award?
Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Awarded for. Distinguished achievement and meritorious public service by television and radio stations, networks, producing organizations, individuals, and the World Wide Web.
didn't hilda win one of those a while back?
according too 4 seconds on google they
"honor the most powerful, enlightening, and invigorating stories in television, radio, and online media."
It sounds like it was probably just made up.
The only other show nominated in the same catagory is Hilda, which I do hope wins over SU.
That being said, the Peabodys aren't that big of deal - they're a neat accomplishment to list for shows like MST3K, as they do tend to acknowledge arts ignored by mainstream tastes, but they aren't really important.
No, Hilda was first nominated in the last day, same as SU - Hilda did win four Annies (animation industry awards) and is up for Daytime Emmy though

They were first given out 78 years ago
>"honor the most powerful, enlightening, and invigorating stories in television, radio, and online media."
So everything SU clearly isn't?
kek
well according too what i'm seeing it's been made up since the 1940's then.
>No, Hilda was first nominated in the last day, same as SU - Hilda did win four Annies (animation industry awards) and is up for Daytime Emmy though
ey good on em.
No I ain't lookin for that shit. I've watched and enjoyed the show from beginning to end. I've viewed it's flaws and what makes it fun and good. But, what I'm trying to ask is does a show filled with specific flaws deserve it? And last time I checked no one was getting hurt or harassing others when blues clues was on the air if an episode was leaked or someone didn't ship certain characters. btw saltxpepper best ship.
Then why is it I've never heard of it until today? Why is it that nobody even really talks about it?
I hate sugar so goddamn much.
They’re not an industry award with a big televised broadcast, it’s a more artsy thing that tends to acknowledge more offbeat stuff. It’s “cooler” than stuff like the Emmys or Oscars in a way but doesn’t carry nearly as much clout or importance. They also aren’t very focused as they award all varieties of storytelling mediums rather than settling on one
Then it sounds like they're just completely fucking irrilevent to everybody.
Cool! Huge fan of the show
looking into there history of winners which is also on the front page when yah google it kids cartoons generally don't get them, most of it seems like live action Yea Forums material, plus as hilda poster said there not that big of a deal.
>I mean yea I love the show
It's not irrelevent, it's just not as big as some other awards
I don't get this weird mental gymnastics people use to convince themselves SU is unpopular. Are you really so insecure in your own opinion that you need to literally brainwash yourself into thinking normies also hate it?
generalizing won't save your shit show
They gave Peabody awards to Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart a number of years ago.
certainly isn't popular with kid. Spongebob and Early AT are more hip to kids
They’re still fairly respected, they just aren’t enough to keep a show alive on their own.
The Hugo Awards are a much bigger deal within the genre of science fiction (they DO actually mean something), and this year they nominated Archive of Our Own (literally the entire website) and a Lindsay Ellis YouTube video about The Hobbit (which granted was quite well researched and put together, but still weird to see nominated in such an official capacity) in the same category. Not to mention Green Book winning best picture at the Oscars... almost all awards are jokes, it’s just about how much money is behind them that determines the real-world effects they cause
WHere did I say it was unpopular? I said that the reward is fucking shitty and irrilevant and most people don't care.
It's not made for kids as much as it is teens and tweens. CN's always aimed a bit older than disney and nick.
Up until now, that is - Nick’s upcoming slate is exclusively perched on nostalgia, implying a target age of at least 20, while Disney in trying to recapture the golden goose of Gravity Falls with The Owl House and Amphibia is also aiming for a periphery audience of teens and adults who can afford the merchandise.
CN meanwhile has under its current regime regressed back into TV-Y7 from the TV-PG of its purposefully edgy early 2010s shows, injecting morals back into their programming (Adventure Time and Clarence often showed the characters performing morally reprehensible acts with no repercussions, while Craig of the Creek and Vitctor and Valentino always seem to want to instruct the audience to do the right thing) and generally being much safer and more kid-targeted than the network was previously known for.
SU only survives as a relic of the previous management that happens to rake in serious merch money
I honestly think that's why peoples opinions of the show soured as it went. It was right at home on early 2010s CN, but on modern CN it just fees inappropriate.
Because like most awards, it’s decided by the opinions and council of some faggots no one cares about.
something they give you for pandering to faggots.
user that's the Glaad award, not that you care but just fyi.
I think South Park won it once
Did it ever occur to you that not everybody is an entitled, frail, pretentious manlet who demands everything be perfect, violent, or manly? Or that children, the target audience, want to enjoy a show that helps them find acceptance with their sexuality and gender identity that they're likely struggling with and teaches them that love and acceptance is better than hatred and cruelty, while also entertaining them with stories about things they wish they could do with characters they can relate to? Did it ever occur to you that people besides 20-something white dudes watch cartoons? Or that awards are not necessarily indicative of something's quality, especially in animation, and even then most award committees aren't made up of butthurt little tartlets who judge the quality of something based on how hard the main female character makes them?
I don't know where we went so fucking wrong as to make shitheads like you the face of the animation community - assholes who hate everything because they think being a cynical little douchebag is the only way to be cool on the internet. People who think cartoons meant for children trying to make said children laugh are wrong for doing so. People who think they know better than actual professionals with years of training and that this false sense of superiority justifies insulting or harassing them for being off-model for less than a picosecond or even for their race, sex, and sexuality.
I hate you and everything you represent in this day and age. I hate that nobody is allowed to genuinely enjoy cartoons anymore lest they be labeled "le autist with pleb taste ecks dee". I hate that nobody in animation is allowed to stand up for themselves and tell narcissistic clitwads like you to shut the fuck up lest they be bombarded with further backlash. I hate that legitimately good works of animation have a bad reputation because of fucking morons like you.
I'd nominate it for a Peabrain Award.
I'm not reading that, and it may even be pasta, but whatever it says your opinion is irrelevant because of your reaction image.
it is vaguely formatted like kermit goes nuclear.
