It's useless when you need to find the computer room.
It's the sign of a clickbait YouTube channel that spreads misinformation.
It can be done well
It is never done well
Uh... What he said
this.
how can it be done well?
kurzgesagt are the only ones that make it look good. The infographics show are fast food tier shit.
It’s used for videos that’s copy pasting info from a wikipedia article
Cute for short little animations, I would imagine good for instructional videos like safety, if they didn't feel like hiring actors.
i think they're ugly as shit personally
Ok satan
this but unironically
Theoretically if someone makes a shot by shot remake of that soviet Little Mermaid animated movie, it would be done well.
The real question here is can good porn be made from it?
Maybe.
aren't minus8's animations vector animation?
>fuck you guys, I need to piss the river styx
there's no need for all of it to have the same fucking art style
Good for ads and for supplementary material for classes.
Not so good to make a series
Who are known for doing very good vector animation with or without that generic art style, such as online animators, youtubers and such?
I came to this thread to say it can be used to make some very pleasant, shapely ladies, if you ask me.
you mean like a scene from this show?
youtube.com
would be like 40% better if they just used a consistent style throughout the video
How come it's ubiquitous in advertising but never used in actual narratives?
I'd never watch a show with its art style though, but I can't really articulate why.
CockHero is a better game though.
man, imagine living in a future distopia where the calarts bean mouth style devolved into that.
That post was made by a sperg. The funny part is he actually accidentally acknowledges why the style is useful in certain cases, but is so emotional that he pretends that those use cases are actually evil for daring to exist
John K made a post about it that I actually agree with; they're too abstracted from real life to make actual characters.
A flat, geometric representation of a man will immediately be registered as a man at a glance. There is no ambiguity at all as to what it is so your brain isn't hung up thinking about said man and can move on to the rest of the information.
But the flat symbol for a man will never be a specific man. Your brain simply doesn't know enough about him to sympathize with him. The style lends itself great to adverts and informational videos, but is awful for telling a story
So an entire cartoon made to look like the intro to the Incredibles is what you're looking for?
nope, just wanted anons thoughts on the subject, kinda been thinking of doing one of these for my own reasons.
