>lmao who's that nigga?
I don't read comics.

Hyped

>wasn't he in the Silver Surfer cartoon?

>christ whedon can you stop with the quips for one fucking second

>reference death
>don't use that plotline

Whedon really has lost his touch.

She's going to be in the 3-hour long Endgame film.
Plenty of time for Thanos exposition

>Who is that? Let me look this guy up on wikipedia

But in all seriousness, I think most of Yea Forums were still in diapers when this was released

>You really think you can pull off TQ and IG, Whedon?
Several years later
>MCU: Not nearly, have a diet version.
>Understandable, have a good day.

I thought some faggot is going to start another useless through on the wrong board.

Hey look, it’s thanos. That’s going to be shit.

I stood up and clapped. My wife’s son joined me

I thought he was a purple skrull.

they didn't mean to show that at the end. non-canon

I admit that this was my first intro to Thanos.

Attached: 1541988692218.gif (319x255, 263K)

Is this true? I saw someone else say this.

What are you talking about

>they scripted, storyboarded, concept arted, designed, planned out dates and actor coordination, did costume and set design, did multiple takes of, filmed, edited, and added visual effects to something that wasnt meant to be shown and is non-canon

Attached: giphy.gif (240x266, 3.86M)

>is that red skull?

I feel so much shame. IG was on of the first comics I ever bought and I didn't realize what I was looking at.

Attached: Should have seen it coming.png (1024x404, 565K)

It's fake.

It could happen, but there are no sources at all. Just some user posting it because he can get your hopes up and make you mad when it doesn't happen.

Were people on here debated who it was?

>mfw someone shouted "OH MY GOD! THE SUPER SKRULL?!?!"

Attached: Larry internal debate.gif (316x213, 1.9M)

Expected, I guess.

I was under the impression that it was Thanos, but somehow he absorbed some essence from Red Skull.

Now we just know Thanos likes to tan on and off I guess.

Why did this make me laugh so hard.

I knew it but got hyped regardless

>The absolute mad men

i thought it was modok

"Neat, so we're getting thanos soon"

Jesus Christ, pre-GOTG MCU played it so safe. They were even scared to make him properly purple.

WHATS WRONG DONALD-KUN?

And likes to wear colored contact lenses occasionally. And shave his eyebrows here and there. Thanos? More like, VAINos

>Oh nonono! I waited 4 years for this movie, how much more should I wait for thanos?

T
HANOS

I was in middle school and everyone thought it was Red Skull, it was a pain to explain Thanos but I wasn't too hyped, thought it was setting up A2. never thought it would get this big

This. Fuck me, and fuck the MCU.

Brolin is god damn perfect, but who would you have cast if not him?

I was an idiot and thought it was Galactus.

Attached: 1553388898298.jpg (630x627, 102K)

Bosh Jrolin

I fucking loved! It was the perfect ending for the perfect super hero movie. When Age of Ultron got announced and Thanos was on a shitty role on GotG the hype kind of died....

Michael Ironside or Keith David.

>Keith David
Too old
>Michael Ironside
Too Darkseid

The fuck are you on ? Deaht is very important for thanos in the MCU. He make plenty of death and is motivated by making plenty of it.

I don't think "Too old" is a legitimate excuse anymore.

Better that they got to flesh it out and lead up to this though. There’s so much more at stake now.

It is when you have to mocap the guy

This

Who would have thought that just 8 years later Thanos was a household name while Darkseid is the "lmao literal who thanos clone"

Attached: 1543641284397.jpg (1199x1200, 172K)

>oh hey someone said "Thanos" was in the after-credits, I should probably look up who that is when I get home.

That's literally why it doesn't matter anymore.

user. They had to motion capture Josh Brolin physically performing a lot of things. Things you can't do with older actors who can't move around as well.

I thought
>that wrinkly grape fucker probably won't go on to become this generation's Darth Vader

Sometime around 2010 they actually invented a second mocap suit, so now they can have multiple actors portray the same character for various reasons.

>Wait, isn't Darkside from DC?

What a fantastic moment in reality.
Treasure that stupidity and smile at it.

I mean.. he DID know enough to know what a Super Skrull was, so...

did not know who he was, thought it was red hulk

Interesting. But they still had Brolin running around doing stuff that I don't think Keith David could do at this point, and why have three actors when you can just have two.

This is gonna sound really pathetic but it was just so validating seeing this on the big screen. Finally these shitty comics will be taken seriously!

Attached: download (3).jpg (287x176, 9K)

I didn't reach that point until I saw the Guardians Vol. 1 trailer in the theater and people were legitimately hyped.

Yeah, I'll never take these movies for granted. Idc if they change things or reinterpret things. It's just so cool seeing this stuff on the screen and seeing other people get excited about it. This was inconceivable 20 years ago. Rocket fucking Raccoon is an A lister.

My 2012 self was like "wow, they will use Thanos".
My 2014 self "well, nothing really happened. Let's when they will use him"
Me now "all these year's for this overrated movie".

I distinctly remember someone next to me leaning over to their friend and asking if it was Hellboy

Launched with a C-lister. Cemented by a bunch of Z-listers.

Tony was a solid B, thank you very much.

And a movie with Aquaman has dwarfed a movie with both Superman AND Batman. I mean seriously, even 10 years ago if you went back and time and told everyone about the state of cinema they would lock you up in a mental home.

How did you know about Red Hulk before Thanos?

He was definitely third fiddle behind Cap and Thor, maybe even behind Ant-Man.

In the public mind? No way anyone knew who the fuck Ant-Man was. At least Iron Man people might affiliate with the Black Sabbath hit song (even though they aren't actually connected)

Fair point. In my mind it was:
>A-list
Spiderman, X-Men
>B-list
FF (thanks to the movies), Captain America, Thor
>C-list
All other Marvel characters associated with the Avengers
>Z-list
GotG

>my dumbass self thought it was Galactus because of Marvel vs Capcom and I don't into Marvel comics
Didn't think it would take this long to get him meeting them in person though.

so, basically...he's monkey?

I think Captain America was pretty close to A-list in the public mind. His name/costume are just so iconic. He's the kind of character that even if you never read a comic probably knew existed. Same with Hulk (helps that Hulk had a TV show)

Ahh I forgot Hulk, good point. He was def A-list

List my shit internally but had to explain who it was to my family

>List my shit internally
*carrot, peas, corn, bread...*

I got hyped, I won't lie.

This actually was me. i was a pretty big casual back then, especially for Marvel

I assumed we'd be seeing the og 5 avengers fight him in the next sequel. Didn't expect to be taken on a ten year ride until that.

Kek, I meant lost

I thought it was a Skrull. Laugh at me if you want. I had read comics with Thanos in them.

Probably played Marvel vs Capcom 3

>mfw hearing someone say it was a frost giant from Thor

Attached: Wat.gif (359x202, 3.03M)

Was anyone pissed that Whedon used the Chitauri as an army rather than something not as fringe, like Skrulls?

"No, dad. That's not Darksied."

My girlfriend asked me if it was Hellboy.

A little boy in the audience asked his parents if Avengers 2 was starting.

Attached: tfw.jpg (760x428, 58K)

My girlfriend leaned over and asked me who that was. We’re no longer together

Wow, you're a faggot

I guess women just don’t understand Marvel

Boy was that a reach

This

“Wow that CGI sucks”

>OH FUCK IT'S THAT DUDE
>what's his fuckin' name
>Thanos that's right
>HOLY FUCK IT'S THANOS

I didn’t hear what he said because some nerd next to me screamed at the top of his lungs...

My sister texted me
>>Who is cherry faced man?

He didn't say anything. He just gave a big shit eating grin. They didn't even have him cast yet.

The Chitauri were featured in pic related and it was pretty popular. Also if they had just made the Skrulls mindless Battle Droids we'd be more pissed.

Attached: 7dwV5gXwPTur8mqXsRafH6jHjTg.jpg (1000x1500, 292K)

>Who is this, why should I care?
>Why does he look like a raisin?
Then I read some of the comics, and liked one or two of them.

Moon Knight movie when?

Oh. Then I guess I didn’t miss much.
I considered seeing it again just for that scene, too

>

Attached: Thanos_BTS_The_Avengers_3.JPG.jpg (1024x534, 112K)

Just like the Snyder cut.

*makes anime girls thread*

>Damion Poitier was giving interviews where he was excited to play Thanos in the future
>Clearly is a fan of the comics, he says he thought he was playing Kl'rt when he saw the makeup pieces

At least he got Payday 2

He was also the best villain-of-the-week that The Flash had in a long time.

youtube.com/watch?v=NQ5B58IkmxM

Attached: Goldface.jpg (1280x720, 66K)

It’s more the fact that he yelled it.

It was for the best. That would've looked like absolute shit if they went through with the "Guy in a costume" look for Thanos.

I learned a lot about Marvel from the vs games. That was my first Thanos moment.

When I went to see this, some fucker shouted "OH SHIT IT'S DARKSEID" and I fucking lost it.

this didn't happen

90% of the theatre had fuck all idea who he even was. Most MCUfags don't actually read comics. Big surprise I know.

It was alright but I was way more excited for Iron mans post credit scene

"Are they really gonna go there?"

"Oh hey it's the guy from MVC2"

nerds were excited but most people didn't knew who was that guy.

Attached: who.gif (245x200, 188K)

Not really.

"Aw dope, they're actually gonna use Thanos!"

based

It's a damn shame that Darkseid's never going to get a good film adaptation. When he's doing a monologue on Apokalips and everybody is chanting "DIE! DIE! DIE FOR DARKSEID!" that is the hypest shit ever except for when Doomsday completely pushed his shit in Even Ironside's version in TAS was great because the writing/voice direction were fantastic. But live action? It'll be a CGI shitfest with derivative characterization and uninspired pandering.

Attached: Ehh.jpg (1200x900, 68K)

>"DCEU is finished"
I only ment it as a joke but little did I know

>is that Darkseid
this was before I read comics, nowim kneedeep in shit thanks to capeshit, if not or this movie I wouldn't have started reading comics

They're gonna use Hela and you know it

Attached: 1546663450592.jpg (375x375, 39K)

"oh - yeah makes sense to set him up as the big bad"

this, either Thanos dies and asks Death to bring him back to life so he can protect the "snappening" or Dr. Strange is gonna talk with the Abstract Entities

You think most of Yea Forums was in diapers 7 years ago?

There' no leaked evidence for or against it, but it's the most likely thing to happen.
Just like how Quicksilver is gonna be the one who kills Thanos and then he'll say "what, you didn't see that coming?"

Fuck DC and jews

"Oh that guy from Marvel Super Heroes"

7 years

You joke but this is exactly how a couple of grills sitting near me in the theatre reacted

Imagine having to explain these stingers and post-credit scenes to your 50-something-year-old mother.
>who's that purple guy?
>who's that duck?
>who's that gold woman talking about?
>who are those big-headed baby people talking to Stan?

And those are just the end stuff. She hits me with stuff all throughout the movies.

I have no problem being the "comic book trivia guy" of my friends group.

I like having people to talk about comics and capeshit with.
But your mother? Ehh.

What would a Whedon-written and directed Infinity War have been like?

Ita remotely possible Death appears, but only because how people bitched, so now they will throw a bone and people will nerdgasm saying GOAT studio/direcors/writer whatever.
classic fishing 101

Jesus that CGI did not age well

>See his helper dude has a fucked up segmented chin when he talks to Loki
>Oh shit that guy is not Thanos right this would be retarded
>Nigga talks about courting Death at the end
>OH SHIT IS THIS THANOS? THEY'RE DOING THANOS?
And then the purple nigga appeared
I was pretty young and was with some of my highschool friends so i just fucking said it out loud and i'm kind of embarrassed by it to this day, never reveal your powerlevel kids

All heroes come together to punch man and learn to work as a team.

"Woah Hellboy? Hellboy is in this?"

Lol I've never watched any MCU movie

i kinda hope they do a full 180 and reveal that thanos was actually trying to please death the how time

I didn't give a shit. Poorly executed.

>Guy behind me: "YEAH! YEAH! GALACTUS YEAH!"
>my nerdy ass: "That's Thanos"
>Guy behind me: "Who the FUCK is Thanos?"
>me: "haha you've got some googling to do tonight"

>Why is Darkseid in Marvel?

>It's that guy who was in superhero squad

they said the n word?

I legit thought
>wait how are they going to adapt the infinity gauntlet story in a movie? all those cosmic entities alone would probably make this the most expensive movie of all time, marvel is gonna go bankrupt.

I had a vague idea of who Thanos was since I was just getting into comics at the time.

"Oh cool, Infinity Gauntlet"

What would be people's initial reaction seeing the Dark God himself on the big screen?

Attached: DarkseidbyEddyBarrows.jpg (1186x1993, 295K)

You're pretending like Thanos didn't work for everyone with the CGI shitfest and derivative characterization and most of all uninspired pandering.

Most peoples reaction no doubt

kek

Oh hey, its that one guy from Marvel vs Capcom 2

>mfw it was me

Attached: The-Red-Skull-Future-Marvel-Cinematic-Universe.jpg (620x320, 79K)

>didn't he die in apocalypse?

Its weird how famous Thanos is now. Marvel really did it with him.

Well then buckle up because there's going to be more villains that are going to be household names.

>Thanos is in this movie too?

Attached: FinalCrisis_Issue7_Page10.jpg (1041x1600, 592K)

10 minutes of having to explain who Thanos was to my friends.

Serenity with an Avengers coat of paint.

Yea Forums in one post

That's pretty much me lol
Family, Friends.
fuck I'm bad for telling them shit they probably don't need to know.

"a fucking grapefruit"
