Episode 1 Racer is one of the best Star Wars games of all time. A remaster or spiritual successor would be incredible.

Blurbs are not accurate. They just need to sell you the story, and short handing Ventress as a Sith Apprentice is easier to say than going into a lengthy discussion whether she is or is not a Sith.

Sheev always knew about Ventress, and kept an eye on Dooku to make sure he didn't teach her any Sith secrets. Teasing her along was part of why Ventress eventually left Dooku's service, since it was clear he was never going to make her a Sith. That, and Sheev got tired of her fucking around and ordered Dooku to kill her.

Try watching the series or reading the actual books instead of using blurbs that condense the information into bite sized nuggets for you to digest.

How about this: Ventress might be a Sith, as she uses the Dark Side, but she isn't a Sith Lord, she does not sport the title of one (Darth) and is not in the confidence of the Grand Plan.

Sorry to blog, but I gotta get this off my chest. I know this may be considered heresy, but I gotta say, the movies--original, prequels, and sequels--just never did it for me. Star Wars has plenty of good stories, but the movies themselves just aren't good. The setting, the aesthetic, the lore, it's all interesting, but I just don't like the movies.

The Clone Wars proves that the franchise works better in a serialized or long form format, since the broad/stock nature of all the characters makes them come off as one note and bland in a feature length tale. A show or a video game gives them time to breathe and develop. This results in the main segment of the franchise being the least interesting part of it. End of annoying blog post.

The epilogue of the new Padme book really makes me want a book set during ROTS and the immediate month following it, focusing on characters related to but not directly involved with the main ROTS cast reacting to everything happening.
Sabe and Tonra suddenly at a loss for what to do without Padme, dealing with the sudden Empire formed, and realizing all of Padme's life work is now useless would be great to see with other people.

Nah, it was all JJ, and now Rian. They rushed their products and it showed. Guys like Lucas and Spielberg knew how to work with him. Not only would they deliver to him a mostly finished cut of the films they were working on (unlike JJ and Rian who were only showing him select scenes or nothing at all), they'd also give him as much time as he needed to polish his work. Not only did they not allow him to do this, they also did not let him work with the LSO and made him work with some small local LA orchestra. That's why the scores for TFA and TLJ don't feel as grand or as full as Williams' previous works.

There's still been comic storytimes (and one on the board right now for Darth Vader 2017's final arc). I don't think people really crave Resistance threads, though. It's a huge downgrade from The Clone Wars and Rebels (itself often seen as a downgrade). About the only thing interesting I'm aware of is people wondering what they'll do now that they're either right up to and about to surpass TLJ in the timeline. New season is slated to begin this fall, October I think, assuming that stays on schedule. People expect it might do some big buildup into IX. HA! They should remember the infamous Disney hiatuses.

I appreciate Holdo for the role she plays in the movie. She's an inefficient leader. She should've been honest with Poe from the start, even if he was being a little bitch. Holdo realized how much she fucked up by the climax of the movie, which is why she chose to stay behind and do the Holdo Maneuver, hopefully redeeming herself in the process by saving the Resistance.

This this tidbit about how she never answers questions and her being eccentric at times explain her arrogance in the film.

What do you want to know? There's been plenty of Star Wars threads, often multiples, most of wildly varying quality. This one hasn't been too bad but some have been full of memes. We had some doozies over the Star Wars Kids Galaxy of Adventures stuff:

A few about resistance but not much. Some have been infested with shitposting and the usual horrible memes that killed the old /swco/ but mostly I just don't think there's as much interest in daily threads. A lot of new comics don't get storytimed. At least Celebration might have something cool upcoming that's Yea Forums related, but who can say. If we get some completed teasers for the new Clone Wars episodes that'll be awesome. If they actually get treated to some completed episodes expect some serious shit. Not that they'll be livestreamed, of course, they never do. Maybe someone will get some sneaky cam footage.

Course that's getting away ahead of ourselves.

That's the problem with writing a character that fails and makes mistakes. It's hard to do it without people insisting you meant to make your character competent and that you're the bad writer.

Poor Rae Sloane. Kind of a neat character until she got Wendiged. She's basically the Mommy of the First Order but clearly nobody wants to touch that stuff after Aftermath.

As for anthologies I'd rather they stuck with those rather than tried to come up with a new trilogy. People talk about "nobody asked for this" with Solo and Rogue One, but that always seemed like the silly way to look at things. People sometimes get what they ask for and don't like it, after all, and sometimes things you didn't ask for can be cool. Nothing's certain. I just think they're better off doing their largely disconnected videos. Sure maybe they can have some points between them, if after Solo a Lando or Maul movie that continues with Q'ira and the crime syndicate. They really need to make sure they get the right story and the right teams early on, though. They've had so many troubles swapping out writers and directors, costly reshoots.

Want a good idea for their movies period? Slow the fuck down on production. Give it years between movies, make sure you get everything lined up. Walk before you run.

My two credits on Holdo is she was extremely badly served by the plot. She was forced into an adversarial role with Poe to create fake out drama that didn't really matter just so they could explain why the Resistance was dicking around for most of the movie until Finn and Chow Yun Fat got their own shit done. We're supposed to be cheering on Poe right up until Leia shows up and we think she'll back him up only to shoot him in the face. But it's all cool because Holdo actually really likes him.

Being a fakeout villain that we're suddenly supposed to love who pulls off a controversial ramming sequence, man there was no way she was NOT going to be a controversial character. Her character and planet writeup isn't really helping. It's like she was designed by committee to make any complaints about her character easily hand waveable away because you're being... well, you can guess. We've seen it enough.

I feel the same way about Rose. It's not the actresses fault, and she didn't deserve the internet hate, just because the writer/director specifically wanted her to feel like she didn't fit in Star Wars. Doesn't help that their diversion to New Vegas didn't feel very interesting and leaves the audience with the sense that these two are extremely bad at their jobs. They're supposed to find The Master Codebreaker, the only one who can pull off this amazing job that involves actually invading Snoke's own throne ship, so naturally they grab the first bum they can find who can short out a mall cop holding facility with a chewing gum wrapper.

Just downloaded the first Thrawn book, does it require me to know anything from Rebels which I haven't watched yet or can I just jump in with it? I'm given to understand that it takes place pre-ANH anyway.

The Anakin interactions where boring but I liked the Vader ones. Eli and Thrawn where much more fun overall though

Man what a ride. All my favourite villains written absolutely on point - Vader, Sheev, Tarkin... Cool to see Raddus and Ackbar too. And fucking Jocasta Nu, what the actual fuck.

I started reading Gillen's Vader and it was okay, but I didn't give a fuck about his pet OC Aphra so I dropped it, and that's when I dropped SW comics in general for a bit. I'd wholeheartedly recomment Soule's run though, especially if you enjoy your villains. I might read some more now.

The last thing I remember about Doctor Aphra is that they made this really weird EU character that was basically Star Wars Judge Dredd gay for a really weird alien guy and the character was already so out there that I wasn't sure if I was okay with it or not.

the expansion of the clone war story that was mainly Padme's side quest and the reveal of the force sensitive Chiss children and how the force works with their people was enough to make me like Alliances more than the first book.

The weak point of Alliances for me was the Padme scenes. I just didn't find them interesting. Thrawn's interactions with Vader were great since you could tell the whole time Vader just wanted to shove him in a locker.

I'm concerned though, a large part of what makes titanfall 2 so good is that the source engine has such tight-feeling movement. EA has been forcing their devs to all use frostbite engine (it literally killed anthem, look it up) and I'm terrified they're going to do the same for fallen order here

I recall reading an article on Anthem recently where they basically pointed to Frostbite as the reason that Anthem's development went so poorly, being that it wasn't built for open world environment's on Anthem's scale. It caused trouble with Andromeda too, so unless something fucked is going on with Bioware's management, I can't imagine they'd pick it twice.

It wouldn't matter, especially since it pre-dates Disney canon. The final season of TCW (prior to whatever they are going to release) had the chips fuck up their memories so they didn't remember their generals as anything other than traitors. No feelings of friendship or remorse, or at least if those lingered and a clone refused to execute his general his brothers were programmed to turn on him too.

The old canon explanation that the clones were so dispassionate and professional that Sidious' whole plan revolved around there being no animosity or threat the Jedi could sense is the purest BS. The Jedi had just spent years honing their skills against droids who had no emotions they could sense through the Force and they largely did fine.

Sw threads aren't banned, they just get deleted every time one is made for whatever reason. Absolutely rediculous considering there is new content every week, which used to be Yea Forumss guidelines for which series are allowed generals and which aren't.

Being fair the stated reason the mod gave for the /swco/ ban was no active show. When there was an active show they still deleted threads. Now clearly there's a difference between a mod and the janitor, so maybe those two need to get on the same page. Otherwise they broke their own stated rules and reasons, oddly enough.

Frankly I don't think Resistance is worth a general anyway so I don't mind. I'm merely commenting on the situation.
