While I see the core of the problems which make you complain about latter parts of the show, I think that the hate for OVAs and S3 is greatly overblown. People calling them bad remind me how some people hated on S2 and called it pure shit when it was still airing by ranting about every detail they did not like or they exepcted to be done differently. S3 and OVAs have problems, but I would never call them bad, rather a bit disappointing and with some weird decisions, but still pretty amazing by modern cartoon standards. Even with all it's fuck ups, like not allowing Ruel to ever do anything cool, rushed latter part of story and going crazy with superpowers, the show is still among the best cartoons which came out in the last decade and manages to tell a mostly coherent story, many plotpoints of which span over multiple seasons.

What I'm really angry about is Ankama being autistic and never taking time to explain anything (even the basics like the races and gods), no matter how crucial it may be, if they already once explained it in some other story or medium the viewer may have never seen or even heard about. This is what totally screwed the Dofus movie, you simply cannot show it to someone who never saw the cartoon without confusing the shit out of them. Another thing is them pushing important events into unfinished comics (Phaeris dying, getting the Eliatrope Dofuses) which made huge plot holes in the show proper. Now THIS is rage worthy.

Gonna ask here again. Anybody remember a scene where Eva slides into view and you see the two characters she's talking too between her legs and it looks like she has a cameltoe? I ask because the artists drew them naked for the bathscene (as shown by the leaked storyboard images that got purged afterwards) so I was wondering if it was actually done or just my imagination. Season 2 I think.

Can be. In Ankama's case it's more that due to their history they've been culturally dismissive of marketing. Their big success was the Dofus game which had a super low budget and huge returns that allowed them to try and do whatever disruptive thing they wanted for years. They didn't need a marketing team because basically they could slap the dofus or wakfu brand on whatever and it'd sell, which encouraged a certain contempt for classical marketing at all levels of the company.

However some of those projects were expensive and a huge number of them were cancelled or are stuck in dev hell, and this was only sustainable as long as the Dofus MMO really raked in the money. It's their only really successful breadwinner, their second biggest success is probably the wakfu cartoon but that really isn't a money maker in itself, it's only useful as a commercial for stuff they can make you pay for. that was supposed to be the Wakfu game but it wasn't ready in time, then it was supposed to be the wakfu toys but they weren't ready in time, etc, now the abraca series is coming out long after the game, which itself was a crappy knockoff of the game that was really planned but canned, etc...

tl;dr they were planning on a disruptive marketing approach but it was a bet that relied on them being better at project management than they are.

I'm pretty sure because of alot of bullshit happening behind the scenes in France, Ankama only got 13 episodes of the typical 26 they had with the last two season, which let them flesh out their villains and other shit that goes down from the start of the season. If Ankama was alloted the 26 episodes they usually got, it most likely would have still ended with the Brotherhood going to Inglorium, but with alot more shit in between. But Ankama got a budget cut and less over all screen time, so this is what we got.

When Yugo used the 6 Dofus he became as stron gas a god, and his wish to get his people back accidentally made him create followers, Eliotropes. Since he's not an actual god, they weren't actual people either, and they were scattered through space-time in the World of Twelve.
Because they weren't actual people, they were created in the image of Yugo and gained his memories with time. When an Eliotrope died, his memories went to all the other Eliotropes, and because they were living paradoxes any memory of them from other people would disappear to preserve the timeline, and Eliotropes would simply vanish sooner or later.
Oropo was the last Eliotrope, so he had the memories of all other Eliotropes, and was gonna vanish soon as seen in the series. So even if he wasn't adult Yugo, he looked exactly like an adult Yugo.

I feel like every season since one has been getting progressively more and more disappointing. Lame power level shit, characters flip flopping on personality, new villains not packing quite the punch. When season 4 comes I'm not sure if I'll care so much.

when he did that, he created an entirely new race based on him, the less powerful Eliotropes, and sent them backwards in time

Oreo is the last remaining one of these people, and when they die their shared Wakfu gets distributed between the survivors

Oreo's whole plan is to destroy the Krosmoz and replace the gods (who fucked off years ago or were just shit at their jobs) with his crew
in order for that to happen, he needed a situation where he had both the Eliacube and the 6 Eliatrope Dofus' and he had to make sure everything that happened that lead up to his creation kept to the course

because the Eliacube needed to get to Yugo, he needed to make sure Nox found it and Ogrest's Chaos happened

The thing is, so that Eliotropes don't entirely destroy space-time, they end up vanishing sooner or later, and when they die any memory of them disappears. Then, the other Eliotropes get the dead one's memories. It's likely that the Eliotropes made efforts to not cause any paradoxes, since they knew through Yugo's memories some of the events in the future, which is probably what Oropo used to orchestrate his plan.
But on the other hand, if you travel back in time with 6 Dofus, it's possible that you'll actually destroy the universe as Grougaloragran said.

basically it's a background thing. THe story revolves mostly around the shop and the people who live there, she works there but what she does away from the main characters isn't the focus. We see bits here and there and then eventually it comes up she's going on a date, we see her out with a girl for a moment, later seems like it's getting serious, etc. It's not the focus, and that's a bit refreshing, since in American things it'd be a big deal and prominent, whereas here it just the kind of thing mentioned when a bunch of people work together and stuff comes up. Most of her screen time is tied up in crap going on at the shop or her incredulity listening to the main character's ridiculous stories.

Last we heard of Princesse Dragon, Tot was still looking for a japanese studio to animate it. He's also looking for a streaming platform to produce Welsh&Shedar since the series was already written and the first episode even storyboarded.
They're also still looking for a way to fund Wakfu S4, but they're probably going to make a webcomic with the story meant for it meanwhile, as they want to tell it before Waven comes out.

They're hoping for success with Waven (aka Dofus Cube aka Dofus 3 aka Dofus Touch) but it's not something I'd bet on in its current state.

Dofus itself is lighthearted episodic fun a bit until halfway or so through.
It has pretty great production value and has the benefit to not being the first thing they’ve made.

Wakfu is more an adventure show with more of a plot.
Season 1 is kinda rough in the beginning because it’s made using Flash and 3D models - which actually don’t look all that bad.
Both shows have great art direction and everything stays on model for the most part.

Watch it in French with subtitles.
