It was a good story and all but did anyone really wonder how that castle got built there? I only read the clone wars and some old republic stuff from the EU so I dont even know if the castle existed prior to rogue one

...

Woops, made a mistake

Best scene, and I find really troubling how NONE OF YOU commented on it before me.

You can say whatever you want about Charles Soule, but he wrote an entertaining Palpatine.

Hard to tell how many people are here user

I don't know if I'd call it the BEST scene but it is interesting given the implications that Vader killed two Inquisitors merely because he was triggered by them being in love that it was no accident the speeder happened to kill another romantic couple. He's just flailing around slaughtering anyone that reminds him of his feelings for his dead wife.

The TRUE best page would be . Poor Koth. Lost his life, lost his child, and retains zero shred of dignity in the telling.

You nailed it user, that's why. The whole thing is a tragicomedy, and on top of that it ends with Palpatine twisting the knife by gifting him Padme's ship.

Edgelord aside, this should be a guiding principle for many artists:
>"If people feel nothing when encountering something you have created, then you have created nothing."
Though this presupposes you make art for others and not for yourself, which should come first.

Found it interesting that we're already getting pre-Old Republic material.

>Sith didn't use Darth as titles at that time
>There was more variety with the weapons as Momin used a rapier instead of a lightsaber

It did appear earlier in the Lando Mini series.
Am I the only one who liked those comics?

I read the one with his cyborg buddy, I recall a dark side artifact but not if it was Momo's helmet.

It was first revealed in the 2015 Darth Vader comics that he had the old Naboo cruiser, seen in events that take place after ANH. Interestingly there it still has the perfect silvery finish that's one of the hallmarks of Naboo ships. Clearly by 2017 they decided, fuck it, Vader burns up the outer hull on Mustafar so it resembles his jacked up crispy bacon skin.

Is this a retcon? Did they purposefully have the ship pristine in 2015 so it would be more recognizable? Or did Vader eventually stop being such an edgy fuck and restore it? TAKING ALL BETS!

Attached: RCO005 (4).jpg (1600x1230, 515K)

Palps sent his repair droid behind Vader's back to keep fixing it up so it always reminds him of Padme.

It was. Also revealed as obtained by Sidious from the secret part of the Jedi Archives opened by Jocasta Nu when she briefly snuck in some time after Order 66. Curiously in Lando it didn't speak and appeared able to corrupt people just by them looking at it, yet without them feeling compelled to put it on.

It was Momin's helmet, don't know why Vader kept it considering what happened during the events of the comic

Attached: RCO006 (4).jpg (1041x1600, 492K)

Ha, I like that idea.

Attached: RCO007 (3).jpg (1041x1600, 426K)

It's like that old EU thing where Palpatine intentionally build Vader's suit wrong so he was always in a little bit of pain except way more evil.

This was a top notch series

Apparently Vader didn't keep it. The ship in the Lando miniseries, the Imperialis, is Palpatine's personal treasure ship that holds a portion of his Sith collection. A copy of the Imperialis shows up in the Chucky Wendig books. Not only a copy it ALSO has a collection of Sith crap. The plan was to chuck all this dark shit into the core of Jakku, destabilizing the planet and causing it to explode, destroying both Imperial Remnant and New Republic fleets.

It's pretty dumb.

Attached: RCO008 (4).jpg (1041x1600, 472K)

Sadly not a thing in the new stuff. Vader's always in pain from his wounds but feels they give him focus and fuels his hate and rage, however when his suit is fully sealed he becomes one with it. He doesn't feel pain and his cybernetic limbs feel like a natural part of his body. This doesn't diminish his anger or focus any.

That was from the Lords of the Sith novel which takes place around this time, very early years for the Empire. Not a bad book. Had some fun stuff in it, including the greatest clone trooper of them all when Vader reminisces about "Sixes".

Aftermath is pretty bad in general, the concept had lots of potential but the shitty "jerkily wobbly" writing ruined it. Plus the amount of focus on Empire politics made the trilogy feel as far removed from Star Wars as possible

>I built this Empire up from nothing. When I started, all I had was lava! Other Sith said I was daft to build a castle on lava, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em! It sank into the lava, so I built a second one. That sank into the lava. I built a third one. It got struck by lightning, burned down, fell over, and then it sank into the lava. But the ninth one stayed up!

I still love when Vader sticks the helmet on a native critter. And people say he has no sense of humor.

Attached: RCO027.jpg (1041x1600, 620K)

Male Human on Female Xeno is far too uncommon so I'm honestly super pissed at Vader's sperg out killing that one couple

Pretty cool callback to the ep 1 poster

The irony of a guy claiming that the Sith serve the Dark Side thinking he has any idea what its will actually is.

To me it was perfect showing how petty he has become

>getting BTFO by the mere vision of Luke

Why couldn't the new movies respect him as much as the comics?

The Vader comics are clearly created with a lot of love.

I fucking love this bit of foreshadowing that the tech is force sensitive.

His castle is at Vjun

F

I still love this depiction of Vader's spirit or soul.

Palps is such a fucking troll

No, the ship was black there too. The colorist was just inconsistent.

Darth Vader club rule number 1: No relationships

Always makes me laugh

You were on the verge of greatness, you were this close

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 65K)

sorry but im retard, remind me what this is supposed to be referencing?

it's padme's ship dumbass

Heh, classic Sheev...

This is one of my favorite moments in the new canon.

Honestly I thought that was a much better use of that line.

Best part is rather than this being the beginning of Vader's Fist, his loyal bois whom he respects and cares about, shortly after this they all die horribly in lava. Except Vader, of course, who cheats his way out of it like a motherfucker.

Despite how bad the movie itself was I like that Kylo arrived at the same creedo as Vader unwittingly.

Gotta love this. His one big change to save his pwecious padme and what does he do? He force lifts her by the neck. I guess old habits are hard to break, unlike her spine.

While true, the association still drags it down

Good sand reference

I must agree.

Aren't they all?

I hope this post is a joke

>padme is falling
>anakin shouts he won't let her go
>reaches out
>we see her grabbing her own throat as she did in episode III
I hope your post is only pretending to be retarded.

It starts dark, but it becomes funnier and funnier.

>Vader has learned the power of self-extinguishing
Well that would've come in handy during Revenge of the Sith.

can't learn something that is a function of the outfit.

That was cool af
Thanks for posting it!

do we know when the hardcover version of the second half of this overall series is coming out yet?
would there ever be an even larger hardcover combining all 25 issues in one?

The way he balls his fist in that panel seems it just used the Force to snuff the flames out. You can tell because he actually saved part of his cape.

>Luke: But father... ah dun want land. I jus' wan'... ta... SING!

It was based line in a good comic, that was undeniable

>would there ever be an even larger hardcover combining all 25 issues in one?
I'm more interested in this. But from what I've noticed, they tend to prefer 12-issue hardcovers instead, so you're better off waiting for the volume 2...
Which takes me to the first question. I can't find anything about a volume 2 yet, I just checked edelweiss, Hachette and Amazon, nothing. Maybe it's buried in one solicitation, but so far there's only the trades.

Who is Krennic to judge anything? Dude couldn't even dodge the Death Star's superlaser AND HE INVENTED IT! Checkmate, Tarkinists.

Why was Eeth Koth kicked out of the council?

For fucking.

My guess is that he met his wife while he was still a Jedi.
The weird part is how they replaced him with a guy of the same species. Was he a token Zabrak or something?

>Token Zabrak
Mace is cool and all, but you ever been called "my zigga"? Greatest feeling in the world.
Too bad about my boy Eazy Eeth though, pour a blue milk 40.

Thanks op

Same. Never seen all the series. These are great.

they literally explain that it was Padme's ship, nigga

I've been a bit down on SW recently and badly out of the loop so this is my first time reading, but I actually fucking love this. Vader being a badass, Sith lore and history, Sheev being Sheev and even some decent humour. Thanks OP.

>Vader's ordeal is to relive all his cringiest dialogue

I chuckled

reminds me of the end of the good Fullmetal Alchemist

I always knew there was something not quite right about them.

was what Vader found that Padme wouldn't love Darth Vader? I mean on top of who his dad is and that Palpy is/was gatekeeping

I personally love them. I've always been a fan of silent story-telling, and Vader lends himself to that perfectly. And format is great for fleshing out stories that will never be in shows or movies.

Who are these characters and what's their race

I THINK it was learning that he’d never get Padme back, that pining over a past that was dead and buried was useless

It benefits Palpatine because it get Vader focused on the present where he can do the most for the Empire, keeps him from ruminating in the past so much (which could lead to Vader regretting his decisions), and even breaks some of the little hope Vader had left. The Empire and his master, this is all he has

Those are Inquisitors, force users that pledged themselves to the Empire and hunt remaining Jedi and seek out new force users to convert or kill

Sharp teeth and red eyes is the Grand Inquisitor, a Pauan
Black skin is a twi’liek
Red girl I’m not certain of, maybe a Zeltron or other near human
Green face girl is the 7th Sister I believe and looks like a Miralian
Guy next to her is the 5th Brother or something and I have no idea. He and green feature in the rebels show with Grand Inquisitor

Is this implying sheev impregnated anakin's mom

>baby has horns

No god dammit, that’s not how that shit works. Can you imagine trying to push that thing out of your vagina? Those horns are going to shred you on the way out, like giving birth to a bunch of fish hooks.

It literally says "there was no father". Palpatine found her and apparently swayed him, though... But the baby is a force-induced immaculate conception.

Bump.

Lava does not work that way

>Implying they are not trying to salvage the piece of crap that TLJ "philosophy" was

She is strangling herself, user

>Can you imagine trying to push that thing out of your vagina?
No one here has a vagina

Just like she always did. VADER WA FRAMED!

And Captain Needa! How high does this conspiracy go!?

And...Actually what the hell is going on here? It's kinda hot.

Attached: hF2E2750C.jpg (500x333, 52K)

They're jumping, user. You can tell by the way Velma's skirt is rising.

No clue, but it's interesting that his father in law has horns closer to a Nightbrother while his daughter on the other hand has a more usual arrangement. Maybe it's merely my interpretation, maybe it's an art mistake, but it does create a potential implication that Koth may have done something for at least one Nightbrother left on Dathomir, especially since they're fellow Zabrak, albeit mixed with whatever Nightsisters are.

Yeah, THAT'S what that user was talking about. Thank goodness Inspector Thanoth was handy.

A natural reaction to being choked is to raise your hands to your throat in order to remove the threat. Unfortunately with the Force there's nothing to grab.

This series was excellent, I hope we get more.

>Foretold because Vader saw it

Damn

I thought that was just Kylo’s voice echoing through time in the same way as the other voices did in the World Between Worlds in Rebels

Bet that’s not the only thing that’s rising!

Attached: CF5E7EB4-7EC6-4138-98D3-65DE726095D0.jpg (301x226, 13K)

I like how the previous sith would’ve though the new situation were shot because they became Obsessed over destroying the Jedi

ok that was freaky

This page is pretty perfect and shows both how Anakin view his relationships with Kenobi and Sheev and why obi failed him in the end

So is this really Padme? And ifcould this have worked? If he just learned his fucking lesson

Probably, Palpatine was going to claim that he caused Anakin's conception in early drafts of ROTS.

God I hop ep 9 hard retcons the shut in TLJ, like really hard retcons and brings Luke back to glory just have him be alive and all that stupid shit in the island be a force vision he projected because he didn’t trust either Rey or Kylo

>Those small-ass lightsabers.

I know why they're this way but still.

What was the point of this ? Momin doesn't seem to care if his host is killed, it's just wasting time.

Vader kills people that fail him, so he offs the hosts that Momin uses when he builds the "failed" temples. It's also a form of punishment for Momin for having to be on different bodies all the time. Clone, droid, lava flea, force sensitive human, etc.

We don't get controlled blade length enough, or the "low power mode" either.

That’s been the implication since RotS, when Sheev tells Anakin Plagueis could use the midochlorians to create life. It was explicitly true in the Plagueis novel.

no, the plagueis novel had them try to do it but then the Force shits out Anakin as an antibody

Loved it.

A number of potential possibilities, such as honestly taking time to find the right configuration to open the Dark Side nexus. What he's really trying to do is link this nexus, through time, to his own ship just as the Jedi board. Although he built the ship too he's working from memory and struggling to find the right design to sync with it through the Force. Or he's just lulling Vader into a false sense of security. Look at the seventh iteration again . There's good odds he's just fucking around.

This is my personal favorite theory. Check out the dude here with the red stuff on his chest strap, like he's running around with extra shotty shells: Notice how he talks about feeling cold just as Momin and Vader walk by? Now notice the last host? Red crap on his chest strap, too. I like to think this is the same guy and Momin basically was fucking around until his helmet was finally placed on a host with latent Force sensitivity which Momin, being a Sith, could use in order to open the door for himself. That guy doesn't need to know how to use the Force and just has a latent connection but Momin, with his training, can in that same body.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply they set out specifically to create Anakin, but they still did through their actions.

No they book implies Anakin is a reaction to their attempts to create life l, they wanted to twist and create life but the force rejected them and created Anakin

It's an implication, but it's also a vision. Either way it's accurate because Sidious covets the child for his own designs. It's also possibly Vader's own fears playing out since Sidious did talk about using the Force to create life and Vader by now has seen how deeply Sidious' designs run. He could be fearing that he was part of his Master's schemes all along.

I think it's not true, though. I mean Sidious gains nothing by choosing some random woman on Tatooine and raised in an environment that could easily get the kid killed, as opposed to raising in him in a controlled, Sith-minded environment. He has no qualms about kidnapping kids and sticking them in labs. Then there's how the Jedi just happen to come across them. Sidious is good, but this is too much even for him. The future is just too uncertain. We saw during TCW that his schemes nearly unraveled at several points and he had to work like a mofo to keep things on track. Tup's implant, Sifo Dyas' ship being discovered, Talzin and Maul shenanigans, and more. Even the temporary loss of Grievous to the Gungans. The one time he failed was in stopping Yoda at the end of the series though even then it still didn't stop Order 66 or the Rise of the Empire. He had to fight constantly to keep events unfolding in the way he wanted, and it wasn't always perfect. Humorously some of Anakin's own actions would later prove detrimental to the Empire. Training Ahsoka, teaching people on Onderon how to fight as a rebel force, etc.

I don't. However you feel about the movie it's done now, I don't want the ST to just go down as a shit-flinging match between Abrams and Johnson and their different visions of SW.

I think it's implying the old EU origin of Anakin is still the case (this might be the first time this idea has been introduced in the new canon?) and that as other Anons have said, it was Sidious and Plagueis' experiments that accidentally created him - they didn't choose Shmi to impregnate, that's just what happened. They weren't aware of his existence until the events of TPM, at which point they started putting two and two together. Interesting that Vader is now shown to be aware of this though, which I don't think was ever the case previously.

I agree and disagree at the same time. I don't make art for others. But others appreciating it is a nice bonus.
On the other hand some people do make art for attention. I guess Momin is one of those.

So is Momon a Cathar, or some kind of Cathar/Human mix? Is this their first nucanon appearance?

It's impossible to say. Some of the vision is accurate, at least the voices, and some of the views out of time, such as dueling Ahsoka at the Sith Temple, but a lot if it is also completely abstract mindfuck BS. It's worth noting that this is the Dark Side speaking to Anakin. It's not his buddy, his pal, his compadre, it's deliberately screwing with him largely for its own benefit.

We're ultimately left with two conflicting views. Momin believes the Sith should serve the Dark Side, feed it, and will reap the benefit. Sidious and Vader are of the mind that domination and master are the Sith way. Being a servant of the Force means you are never truly a Master. Either way it definitely seems to have a will of its own, and it's just as greedy, manipulative, and spiteful as it inspires others to be.

I mean it’s left vague how much of a wills the light and dark side both have, but the force in general definitely is sentient and does not give a fuck about sentients in general

Spoiler alert, Jocasta Nu is surprisingly badass. You can also see the first days of the Inquisitors.

Shut up, Morbo. You underestimate his new powers.

>thought this was all of them
>never even noticed they start at 19
user, you have made my day.

I wish they showed us more relationships like this on the movies.

Interesting that the natives of Mustafar are clearly another species able to utilize the Force in their own way, specifically here in calling on the fiery fury of their planet. Not that it saved any of them.

Honestly, some comics are better at horror than most horror movies since 2009

Ages ago i made a perfect image for this particular joke!

>the hips on that Gran
I don't remember ever seeing a recognisably female Gran before.

It’s to late for that user, TLJ was the way it was because the writers got pissy that JJ ignored them and decided to force it all back in TLJ

none of them are as good as the Fortress Vader portion.

> the writers
JJ and Kasdan got pissed at themselves and decided to, what, Mindtrick Rian into screwing up TLJ? First I've seen of this theory.

IX looks like it'll be a mess. It'll be a miracle if they pull this off.

No they got angry that JJ ignored a lot of their plans and forced them back into TLJ and Rian went with it

She is not gasping for air, user, she is literally squeezing her own throat.
It is meant to show that Vader is denied Padme, no matter how he tries to get her back.

I don't think it is really Padme. I think it's Vader facing his own fears and finally admitting to himself that Padme would never love who he is now and that the person he used to be is dead. The fact they both get the same Sith eyes is pretty compelling in that regard.
>let the past die, kill it if you have to
is well used here. I think that's what Vader found, the strength to finally kill Anakin Skywalker and his obsession with Padme.

That's what people do 99% of the time when they are Force Choked. Why are you only noticing this now?

It doesn't matter if it isn't really Padme when Vader reacts as if it is. He believes it. That's enough.

That or try to loosen their collar, which is always rather funny. The last thing going through Motti's head would be, "Damn Neimoidian laundromat using too much starch on my uniform again!"

I thought Sith thrive on feelings...and from Vader at that, this is some hypocrite bullshit.

>if I can't have a gf no-one can

The Sith still feel attachment through love is a weakness. Hell, it leaves you vulnerable to attack through your loved ones for starters. Still none of that means he's eschewing feeling, just that level of lovey dovey shit. On the other hand you have to keep in mind that this is Vader when he is still clinging to his past, specifically his lingering feelings over Padme. That's why the ending where he gives up trying to save her and destroys Momin's machine is how it ends. From this point on Vader believes he's seen what the Dark Side needed to share and that Anakin Skywalker truly is dead.

ew

Still could the resurrection thing have actually work?

I mean he was wrong Anakin wasn’t dead in the end

Maybe? Momin somehow got crapped out of the Force, that's for damn sure.

Seemed to work for Momin, although that was just his body he brought through, his conciousness was already in the real world bound to the helmet. It remains unclear as to whether a real person could be brought back, and it would probably cause some serious force-fuckery, given that people are supposed to "become one with the force" when they die in SW.

Yeah, but it took a lot to bring Anakin back. Luke's rejection, stewing on that for a year, his son begging him to be a good person again, but even after all that Vader still didn't save his son right away but waited until nearly the last moment before grabbing up Sidious. Ol' Poppa Palpatine had fair reason for not believing his Apprentice would turn on him.

Great post

>helmet on a lava flea
lmao

Well they said you can do anything through the force so I guess with enough fuckery you can probably break all of he rules if time travels possible than so is everything else, but unless Anakin learned his fucking lesson then I doubt she’d ever go back to him

Guess that makes sense...what a petty little shit.

You jest, but I have it on good authority that IX will be a classic Disney Musical.

I quite like how you can feel the mood just from the composition.

You know what the soundtrack to this scene would be as you read it.
