Hadicapped Grandpa is an offencive term, according to some kids in social media old people prefer to be called "Older men with different abilities"

It genuinly angers me that UG was a flop. It was one of the last cartoon that felt like an actual cartoony cartoon in the vein of shows like flapjack and chowder that wasn't animated in flash

OK KO is the only traditionally animated cartoony cartoon left now, and it's fucking OK KO. I honest to god think the style of cartoon that CN used to be renowned for is going to go completely extinct

it had 5 seasons

This. With 140+ episodes, Uncle Grandpa had a really good run considering how universally ignored and hated it was.

Meanwhile, Wander Over Yonder—the objectively better silly slapstick cartoon—didn’t get the light of day because Disney was strictly looking for more serialized cartoons like Gravity Falls; it’s why Star vs became their flagship show. At least Cartoon Network allowed UG to last as long as it did.

I repeat, the mods should ban shitpost threads

It's an uncle grandpa thread you autistic

The OP pic is a nonsensical edit, and that racist Pizza Steve post keeps getting attention. If we wanna make this an Uncle Grandpa, then let’s fucking discuss the show already.

Favorite character? Favorite episode? Favorite waifu? What are your thoughts on Pete Browngardt’s body of work?

Why? This is way better than the pedo waifu and company war threads

140?????

Yes. Over 140 episodes, despite its clear lack of popularity.

I honestly wasn’t even that sad to see it go since I was pretty damn satisfied with the amount of episodes we got.

Doesn't the show end with Uncle Grandpa meeting Pete himself? Also I'm not really sure if I like the artstyle change of the backgrounds. Shortening the intro to just a mere seconds was a really bad move though.

Fuck. It took me this long to realize you were posting quotes from that hilarious YTP: youtube.com/watch?v=rcPI8oUeVS8&t

You’re all right, user(s).

>I'm not really sure if I like the artstyle change of the backgrounds
But that was the best decision the crew ever made! The bland style of the first ~100 episodes always pissed me off because episodes like "Belly Bros" and "The Great Spaghetti Western" proved that they were definitely capable of making more impressive backgrounds.

But it’s fine if you feel differently about it. At least we’re in agreement that the second intro was dumb as hell.

>Disney was looking for more serialized cartoons
That's literally false, McCracken wanted the show to go more serialized and had to fight the network at every turn just to get what little continuity the last season had in.

This is Iraq. Pretty decent place to live.

Hi its me user and I don't know what Yea Forums is

>WOY premiered in August 2013, just barely a year after GF premiered
Series development is a long process that can take up to 5+ years. McCracken was unlucky because he likely pitched and developed his show RIGHT before Gravity Falls had proven itself a major success. Disney probably was still too focused on the lasting success of episodic cartoons like Phineas and Ferb and SpongeBob, and they probably wanted WOY to do the same. Don’t ask me how a young, twenty-something CN board artist like Alex Hirsch convinced them to let him make a half-hour serialized cartoon; your guess is as good as mine.

But it’s clear that Star vs was in the middle development at a time when GF had already made its mark. Daron was given full creative freedom to let her show be serialized. Same with Dan & Swampy, even if MML is clearly being thrown under the rug now.

TL;DR: Just another case of McCracken getting fucked over by TV networks.
