A bunch of completely unncessary relationship drama bullshit that really took over and made the actual plot secondary until the final episode.
Then Season 2 was complete and utter trash.
Season 3 was pretty good and had some great villains.
Season 4 was back to Season 1 levels of mediocrity.

forget republic city, with access to the avatar and her funds, she'd probably find it easy to play hostess to lavish lesbian orgies for all the most high-ranking women in the four nations. Princesses of the Fire Nation, Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes coming to republic city to network with the Avatar and getting dommed by Asmai is the easiest way to do that.

Asami and Varrick have close relations with the Avatar. Workers rights are gutted and all the powerful people who would have stood up for the underclass have been killed or imprisoned- Amon, Zaheer and co, and even Raiko has been replaced by Varrick's fuck toy. Tenzin is self centered monk who will only focus on the promotion of his own race and heritage and focus on building a new air nation. Katara is old as fuck and Toph became a corrupt cop when she was younger. Sokka probably killed himseld by accident, Aang got iceberg syndrome. and Ty lee joined a warrior cult. Pretty much the only nation with workers rights and high quality of life for the vast majority of citizens is the fire nation and are quick to becoming a post modern service industry but maintaining a strong manufacturing base.

I think the mistake is that we didn't really see how George-Lucas'd Bryke was.
Rewatch that first season, or just try and remember, because I don't blame you for not rewatching it, and see how Bryke could write those character being solo, but how shit they were when they wrote them interacting.
