Holy shit, adding those teeth on Darwin in the recreation was unnecessary.

It was being told from Tobias' point of view and he wanted to make Darwin look goofy.

While I agree that Gumball has declined in quality in many ways (some parts of the animation included), arguments that rely on nitpicking like (season one's The Ape and season two's The Apology have Simian acting awfully like the "now" version of her character) or shakily manipulating the truth like (the only changed assets are some background details and Darwin's teeth, most of the changes in look are due to a relative lack of lights and shadows) are going to eventually backfire and make the Gumball fandom look like a bunch of nostalgiafags. If you're going to argue against the later seasons of the show, do it correctly.

Stop pretending that Gumball seasons 5 and 6 are notably stiffer than 2. The only visual changes the show has gone through since season 2 have been the gradual lighting downgrade that occurred during the later parts of season 2 and season 3 and the overall increase in facial expressions (before the meme faces became prevalent, the characters were limited mostly to stock facial expressions and stiff "off-model" expressions of a similar nature to ).

Not the same guy but that isn't nitpicking. It's a fact. In The Ape Simian wanted the approval of a family to win the best teacher award. Yes, she was a manipulative bitch but she didn't want to fight the Wattersons and didn't have a revenge against Gumball or something. She just wanted the award. In The Apology she thought Gumball and Darwin mocked and humiliated her. After that the show didn't use her as an antagonist for two seasons. She was a main character in The Joy and she didn't show any antagonistic feeling towards Gumball. Then in The Grades she suddenly hates Gumball and actively wants to kick him out of the school.

There are similar examples with other characters. Granny Jojo and Nicole solved their differences in S2 and didn't have conflicts in S3 and S4 but in S5 they suddenly passive-aggressive hate each other in a way for no reason. Your other points are more or less wrong too but i'm tired.

Those episodes you listed as "proof" of Simian not having hated Gumball initially actually prove the opposite. The Ape has Simian calling the Wattersons "losers" via a letter right after getting a recommendation, The Apology has her try to prove Gumball and Darwin are full blown bad kids over a single paper airplane incident, and in The Joy, Simian gets so upset at seeing Gumball and Darwin smiling in class that she sets the two off to the doctor. The only thing The Grades changes is that Simian isn't even using an excuse to be an ass towards Gumball.

However, I believe I can concede to the Nicole and Jojo thing (not really a case of flanderization).

Simian believes everyone but herself is a loser and she thinks joy is a dangerous disease. She didn't hate gumball. She was just a huge jerk.

The inconsistency in this show gets annoying. Don't forget about how "The Knights" ended with Gumball finally earing the respect of Penny's father only for it to be erased in future episodes. I also remember the family appearing to be happy with Richard being united with his biological father only for all of the them to despise him later on. I'm sure there's other examples but I can't think of them at the moment.
