I get the gist of the gamers rise up thing since it's basically just making fun of edgelord manchildren on Twitter, but what is the "we live in a society" thing based off?

That would probably kill the meme, but better it happen here than on late night television.

Bottom text

I don't get the whole "We live in a society" thing. What the hell is it about and where did it come from?

Parody of Joker's monologues in The Dark Knight.

>what is a homage

Unironically support this as long as it doesn't show up in a trailer and is done cleverly.
They should do it, easy way to stir up publicity as fags on Twitter will clutch pearls over the reference. Got nothing to lose since that crowd is already whining about it.

Those edgelord manchildren use the "We live in a society where X" to justify their edgy views

Costanza did it better, anyway.

Jim Jefferies airplane etiquette monologue

Ironic memespewing parodying people who say stupid shit about societal trends they view as bad, in order to make themselves seem more 'woke' or aware of the sorry state of things, and that they're special because they're different.

>>Why on earth would a Joker film reference Conrad Veidt's Gwynplaine when that inspired the original character

Surely the movie is completely done by now

Were they just going to remake The Man Who Laughs, but instead just added an Arkham Asylum scene and called it Joker? Someone in the thread mentioned that the movie was originally written as something else before it was switched to the title Joker

Fucking hack Alan Moore using George as a template for Joker

Let the movie create its own memes. It will deliver

Same deal, edgy 14 year olds who make some basic bitch observation about cell phones and act like they're Aristotle.

Society keeps the world going the way it is due to its structural form providing infinite inertia, despite all of the world's and people's wrongs and flaws dictating that it should've broken down ages ago and forced people to adapt.
It's not that complicated. If you put a thousand lazy corporate twitter hashtag gays on an island they will all starve to death, but if you already have a society they can inherit they can keep going indefinitely.
The gamers just want us to rise up.

What the fuck?!? So we actually REALLY DO live in a society?!?!

You have three options
Become the normie: Nothing is wrong, your brand-name opinions are good and woke and right
Become the doomer: Everything is going to shit and there's not a goddam thing anyone can do to stop it
Become the edgy nihilist: We're fucked so let irreverence be your shield and kill yourself or give up at your pleasure

There are times I've contemplated writing some sort of hilarious Pastebin story based around the "gamers rise up" meme. I have this idea that I'd play the whole thing completely straight, and make it wildly over the top. So, all of a sudden, one day all the gamers actually do rise up, and suddenly they're using their Battlefield and Call of Duty skills to BTFO soldiers and police officers, taking control of armaments and winning victories. And all throughout the story there would be these tongue in cheek references to the meme, like people repeatedly saying some variation of, "These gamers, they're rising up!".

Uh you're cultural appropriating incel memes there, gamer. Our reaction images are not your avatar.

The Man Who Laughs inspired the Joker's original creation and appearence in batman, so maybe idk bro!!!!!!

trannies forced a meme

comics and cartoons attract a certain type of person.

That’d be funny as hell

We certainly live in a retarded society

In the end, WE were the society

Appearing in the movie won't stop it from appearing in late night television. In fact it's an invitation to late night television, meaning we'll be getting double the pain

NOW

That was only the original joke for a week or two.
Now it's a way for redditorfaggots and tumblrtards to whine about their inane politics, as is obvious by 90% of the image macros you can find of that terrible subreddit of theirs.

It's called a homage

This.
It basically evaporated on Yea Forums once people found out it was just a bunch of fucking redditors spamming that shit.
Archive was a blessing in this one instance.

This.
It went from a funny meme making fun of edgelords to landwhales bitching that video games aren't about them.

The Joker was copied from The Man who laugh while Batman was copied from a film from 1929 called the shadow of the bat. When people say Bill Finger was ripped by Bob Kane I just like to mention that most of Batman's ideas came out from this film, and neither author was really original.

There are a shit ton of different inspirations for Batman including Sherlock Holmes, The Shadow, and Zorro.

>"We Live In a Society is a series of images that compare two similar things, one popular and the other under acknowledged but complex, using photoshopped social media reactions. The image is also captioned by the phrase "We live in a society," implying that the cultural conception and opinion is wrong. The format, however, is not to be confused with the phrase "We Live In a Society" commonly found in Gamer Joker memes."

>"Okay now this is actually epic"

Seeing someone say that unironically just made me recoil.

It's about internet crusaders and slacktavists who show off their "deep"(retarded) opinions for all to see, often through poorly made template based memes.
I made an example for you

A HWAT?

Embarassing, they should have called it for what it is, The Man who laughs remake.

It was going to be a "generic" thriller, the director himself said it.
But since it was produced by WB, they pushed into him the decision to make it about the Joker, and this is the reason the director keep saying the movie will have nothing to do with the comics.

So we can make Maggie spin in her grave for all eternity, the witch.

How to spot the Yea Forums poster.
Fuck having a Joker in the OP is literally honey for you guys.

Didnt Sammy got doxed himself after the Dark Skyes fiasco ?
