Aquaman was much better

Yeah ok and Batman vs Superman was kino we get it

Aquaman had better suits and Black Manta was pretty based but Shazam was more solid overall.

Please take your degeneracy somewhere else, Aquaman was shit, the WORST CBM of 2018, not even the Best CBM of December.

Shazam >>>>>>>> Wonder Woman >>>> Aquaman > JL > Man of Steel >>>> Batman VS Superman > Suicide Squad

I'd honestly put SS above BvS but yeah this a very accurate list

No, BVS was complete shit

Shazam had some fun moments, but it felt so cheap and just going by the numbers origin history, Aquaman was a better example of superhero cinema just because of the lore and action scenes alone. The only onw me with charisma on Shazam were The villain and the gimped kid

Is Green Lantern part of the DCEU?

BvS was the best superhero movie ever made. Aquaman was watchable but it might as well have been a Marvel movie. Already forgot most of what happened in it and I saw it only a few weeks ago.

So when you watch the box office results come in does it make you feel stupid for shilling this shit for so long only to watch it bomb horribly

t.snyderfag

Well, yes. I do like most of his movies.

Hi ladderbro

Attached: marvelfags.png (199x253, 11K)

it supposed to be the 1st DCEU Film when it came out, but after all the awful reception it had, it was retconned Before Man of Steel.

I can't believe anyone would be dumb enough to think that Batman VS Superman is absolutely awful in everyway and is in the TOP 10 WORST CBMs. Pic related is you.

Attached: pqafkb6d9ba01.jpg (645x729, 57K)

name one good superhero film that didn't bomb

forgot to put a , and now it looks like I said the opposite of what I said. Punctuation matters.

>BEST PG13 CBM.
Not even the best of the past month

GO AWAY, GET OUT, BEGONE, PACK UP

Nice meme arrow

Also
>less than either fucking Ant Man movie

I loved Aquaman, but that movie had issues that Shazam didn’t have like mainly the way the scenes were edited together Shazam was more cohesive while Aquaman felt like it was just jumping from scene to scene

>Carolgoblin posting her shitrat

>Box offfices dictate quality

Mouseshills are so pathetic

Every single MCU movie, Raimi's Spiderman, the Fox Men, Dark Knight trilogy, Burton's Batman, the early Superman movies, Kingsman, Kick-Ass, the list is literally endless.

In fact it's usually the shit movies that bomb like this

Asshole dad gets mauled to death by demon.
I swear this movie was more brutal than Venom.

>64 metacritic
oh nonononononono

>I swear this movie was more brutal than Venom.
That was only one scene. There's nothing else in the film that's brutal.

they really couldn't give digimon top billing? fucking piece of shit movie.

I just thought that head bite was more graphic than Venom's.
Venom had no grit to it.

Was it as brutal as Doom blowing brains out in Tranktastic Four?

Billy's backstory seems a bit contrived. Why did Child Services never tell him where his parents or any of the relatives he surely must have lived? You usually don't put kids in foster homes with complete strangers when they have living relatives.
And how did the mother not get in trouble for child abandonment?

I don't know I think Wonder Woman is still above it.

Wonder Woman > Shazam > Aquaman >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> All the other crap

Thaddeus was an amazing villain. That boardroom scene was the best scene in the movie and the implication he's going to be the Co-Antagonist in the second film brightened my mood after her lost because Thaddeus had every reason to be as angry as he was and you just know that Mister Mind is gonna betray his trust

He also got crippled earlier in the movie

Shazam feels like a "direct to video" movie, at least Aquaman justifies the price of the cinema seat and the big ass screen

This was a children's movie through and through with zero subtlety or cleverness.
Though, compared with other DC movies, this was a work of genius.

The entire movie included one whole drop of blood, running from Billy's nostril.

That's kind of what I've been wanting from DC the whole time anyway.

>This was a children's movie
As it should be.

BASED

>Cring

ftfy

Yeah, I had fun watching it. Loved Levi

It certainly had the best and most loving family ever. Easily BTFO all other capeshit with the intense incest vibes going on when they were all superpower'd up.

That's what all the chink say at the moment, they don't want family fun movie they want cgi fest. Not looking good in China

Not looking good anywhere

It'll take a miracle to break even

>Another day saved thanks to BILLY BATSON! No- wait, he meant SHAZAM!
>Another day saved, thanks to the great, the amazing, the super powerful and incredibly handsome SHAZAM!
>There, that's sounds WAY more fitting.
>Billy stood proudly on the edge of the skyscraper, flexing his SHAZAM!-powered muscles, flashing his sparkly smiles, smoothing back his amazing hair.
>Freddy floated by only a foot above ground.
>"Wow, you guys! I-" he looked down, kicking both his legs around him before doing a quick 360 flip in the air, "I wonder if I can fly faster than Superman!"
>The young lad touched down beside his sister and took off running, jumping, leaping into a handstand-
>"Guys, this is so freaking cool! Look what I'm doing!"
>-before falling forward right onto his face.
>Billy laughed, doubling over for extra dramatic effect, slapping his knee, pointing.
>"You look like a total-"
>Mary touched him with her hand, barely nudging him, and the boy went careening over the side of the building.
>She smiled as her brother screamed and plummeted to his death forty stories below. She walked over to Freddy, her hips swinging side to side in a way her normal teenage body was only starting to get used to.
>The older girl reached her hand down as she gave her brother a disarming smile.
>"Here, let me help you up."

>Freddy rolled onto his back and looked up at her.
>He felt something twitch inside.
>Something he felt when they appeared inside that Gentleman's Club a few weeks back, when they were running away from the supervillain guy with the creepy demon eye ball shit.
>His hand touched hers, and he instantly started floating.
>She grinned wider as she clasped her hand around his, and smirked as he floated even higher until he was starting to lift her off the ground.
>"What's gotten into you, Freddy?"
>He shook his head and grinned as he glided around her, spinning her slowly in a circle. Their hands never parted.
>"I-I don't know, Mary," he answered, his cheeks starting to burn.
>"I feel like you're taking my power. Why else would you be flying around while holding my hand?"
>His heart skipped as she jerked on his wrist, pulling him back to earth. She stepped up to him, raising their hands between their bodies.
>So close to each other now...
>"You're not turning evil, are you, Freddy?" she whispered, her other hand reaching up toward his hair, brushing a few stray strands back into place.
>The boy closed his eyes and shivered as his sister caressed his forehead, as her fingers applied pressure to the back of his hand.

>"Hey, guys, what's going on?" called out Billy as he landed beside them.
>He turned his eyes from the smirking Mary to the blushing Freddy, to the clasped hands, to Mary's thicc chest, to Mary's twinkling eyes as she caught him staring at her assets... again.
>"Dammit," he muttered quietly, though both his siblings heard it anyway.
>"Oh, nothing much," she turned her eyes back onto her blushing, nervous brother, "I'm just wondering if Freddy is turning evil on us."
>Billy looked between them both again before his eyes inevitably drifted down to her stacked rack. Hot damn, was his superhero sister hot as hell. Not that he'd ever tell her that of course. Unless she liked it... No, Billy, come on, man, she's your sister! But... she's not really his sister either...
>"Whatcha thinking about?"
>Oh god, she caught him staring openly at her mature tits again.
>His cheeks blushed and he tugged on his suit collar, feeling a little spark. He looked up at her eyes, and she started walking toward him.
>He noticed her hand drop from Freddy's, and how the boy lifted his released hand to his chest, holding it while she couldn't see.
>Mary got up close and personal, leaning into Billy, putting her hands on his chest.
>They were standing on the edge of the building, so she leaned even closer to him, pressing them both toward the cliff.
>"Why don't you fly me around for a little bit," she quietly asked him against his chest, her fingers slowly stroking his bare neck.
>Her brother gulped and she could hear it. It made her feel strong, powerful... hot.

WTF!!!

>"Hey, I can fly you around, too, y'know!" called Freddy.
>She turned her eyes on him, winking, still smirking.
>"If you can catch Billy, then you can have me."
>Her cheeks burst with rosy hues as she realized what she just said... what it sounded like she just promised.
>But she didn't take it back. If anything, it made her feel stronger than before.
>And that way that Billy slipped an arm around her slender waist, holding her tightly to him, clenching protectively, and asserting his dominance in the situation.
>She couldn't deny it... it was turning her on so much.
>She leaned closer to Billy, while still looking at Freddy, and blew him a kiss.
>"Come on, Billy, let's leave this little boy alone and have some fun... alone~"
>She purred as Billy's fingers brushed down to the edge of her perky ass, and she half-heartedly told herself off for wishing that he'd just go all the way and squeeze her butt real good.
>Billy kicked off the roof, zipping around.
>He flew them around in a circle before hovering in the air.
>He looked down at his sister, acting casual as he gripped her chin and lifted her face from his neck.
>"Hey, wouldn't you rather look around at the city as we fly?"
>She smiled at his face as she shook her head.
>"No, I'd rather feel the chill of the wind and the warmth from your hands."

Attached: 1554261501847.jpg (243x446, 102K)

>His face burned again, but he let her go. He felt her burrow her face into his neck again, and then shivered as she kissed him. His fingers were dancing above her ass... would she care if he... if he moved a little lower?
>Oh, what the hell, he went ahead and placed his other hand on her lower back as well.
>One was holding her stomach flush against his abs, and fuck... the way her breasts were squishing against him. So firm, so soft. It was maddening. But... then his hand slipped over her butt, and he cupped her and squeezed her...
>And Mary made this noise, this moan, this... pleading note he'd only ever heard from pornstars online before...
>And he nearly fell from the sky at that... all of his concentration, and his blood, zoomed straight into his dick.
>Mary's lips were nibbling at his skin, painting him red with her lipstick. Her feet were stroking his legs as he flew them around so fast the world was a blur. But it was ok by her... the only world that mattered right then was Billy's chiseled body and his strong hands cupping her ass.
>Suddenly, her brother stopped, and the trance was broken.
>She turned around, and smirked evilly.
>"I want to fly her around, Billy," Freddy challenged, blocking their path.
>Billy held her closer, squeezing her ass so tightly to him Mary had no choice but to grind against her brother's raging boner.
>The young girl moaned, and then started rolling her hips against it.
>"Fuck..." she whimpered, hiding her face in Billy's chest, "You won't let him steal me away from you. You've gotta keep me safe from the bad guy, Billy."

The degenerate fanfic actually brings up a question I've been wondering. Do the Marvel family experience the change in hormones when they turn into adults? Or because the transformation is magic it doesn't matter? Has this ever been addressed in-canon?

When will they release Snyder's cut of Shazam?

same, I was surprised they showed him chomp down on the head and held on the shot for half a second before yeeting his corpse out the window when venom didn't even have the balls and just did cutaway offscreen head chomps. The whole boardroom scene was pretty cool actually I was dissapointed the sins didn't get to wreak any more havoc in public.

>She was egging them on. She wanted them to fight over her. She... fuck, she wanted them to assert their dominance and win the right to... oh god...
>Her mind was drifting into dangerous places, but her vagina was screaming at her to say fuck it and worry about how good it'd feel to just wrap her legs around Billy's waist and-
>Freddy's hands suddenly wrapped around her chest, his palms cupping her boobs.
>Mary squeaked as he ripped her from Billy's grasp, and zipped away; literally only keeping her from falling to the earth by his grip on her breasts.
>Freddy turned upside down, and suddenly she fell onto his chest; and the poor boy groaned loudly as her boobs slammed into him, and her legs slid between his, and her thigh grazed his dick, and suddenly he was sporting a thick hard on.
>Mary stroked his neck and kissed his chest, rubbing her thigh up against his arousal.
>"Oh, Freddy, you're so bad..." she licked his neck, blowing hot air over his wet skin, "Getting horny for your older sister~"
>The boy was so totally distracted by everything that happened, that he literally just fell.
>Both he and Mary started screaming before Billy swooped down to catch them both.
>Soon, they were all laying down in a field of grass, laughing, close to each other, almost cuddling...
>Mary was resting between them both.
>Freddy was turned toward her, touching her leg with his fingers, brushing her skirt a little higher with each stroke.
>She turned to him with a smirk.
>"You really are being so naughty," she poked his nose before throwing a leg over his hip and getting much, much closer to him.
>"If you really do turn evil, Freddy," she breathed against him, her lips only an inch from his, "What would you do to me right now?"

Since they go straight from child to adult, they don't experience the weird awkwardness of puberty. Most of the Marvel family are at least adolescent though, so if anything they'll be more balanced out.

She changed her name and they were searching for her with Billys last name. That's why it took the asian kid digging around to find her.

>She purred as Billy's hand slipped over her hips, down her leg, then up her skirt to her waistline. Her brothers were sandwiching her body between them both now, and she loved it.
>"I know what I would do to you, Mary," Billy whispered hotly in her ear before biting it.
>She moaned and bucked her ass against his hard on.
>Her hand drifted down to Freddy's leg, only inches away from his dick...
>"Tell me, Billy. Tell me exactly what you want to do to me," she commanded him, while her eyes were still looking into Freddy's.
>Billy's hand grabbed her panties, and her started pulling them down...
>"I'm going to lift your leg up and fuck your hot pussy."
>Mary groaned as her wet heat was exposed to the cool air, as her brother lifted her leg up and caused her skirt to push up onto her stomach.
>Billy couldn't see anything, but he could feel her wet pussy as he grinded his super-clothed dick into her crotch.
>But Freddy could see her puffy lips and her sweet nectar dripping between her thighs. He gulped and looked back into her eyes.
>Both brothers were so painfully erect they could nearly cry.
>They'd been playing this game with Mary for a couple weeks now... and this was the farthest they'd ever gone...
>Mary looked over her shoulder.
>"You'd fuck your sister? You must be a villain..." she teased.
>Billy leaned over her face, bringing his lips close to hers.
>As he spoke, his mouth grazed against her parted, breathy lips.
>"You're not really my sister, are you? And even if you were..." his hand drifted up her leg before touching her soaking wet pussy and making her gasp and flinch in his arms, "You're too hot not to fuck you completely senseless."
>Mary's head fell back, exposing her neck as she moaned, as Billy's fingers thrust inside her wet heat.

Venom had multiple head bitting, so that's probably why they had to tone it down. I was surprised by Shazam actually showing someone get their head bitten off, instead of cutting away during the action. Scenes like those are where you see David Sandberg's horror influence.

>Freddy saw this as his opportunity to press his lips against her throat, and he started smothering her with kisses. He could feel each of her moans ripple across his mouth as he nibbled on her, licked her, tasted her skin.
>Mary's hand took another daring chance and pressed against Freddy's erection. She toyed with him until the boy was starting to whine, but she could barely muster enough sense to smirk and tease him. Everything was starting to feel that good... and her pussy was gripping Billy's fingers so tight... fuck... could she even take one of their dicks?
>She stroked Freddy's length some more. Billy removed his hand and ground his shaft into her pussy. Freddy's lips parted from his sister's neck as he fell into her passionate touch, laying his head on her breasts and panting for oxygen.
>It was at this time that they all realized they couldn't go any farther with the boys' suits on, but how could they-
>Mary gasped as her hand touched his hot, naked dick for the first time. She looked down at it. A perfect hole was cut in the material, letting just his dick and balls hang out.
>The young woman bit her lip as she stroked her brother, as he groaned and pressed his lips against her cleavage.
>Then, she felt something long and hard and thick slides across her pussy, humping her slit but not quite entering her... And her mind entered a whole new world of pleasure.
>"O-oh, fuuuck me," she whined, biting her lip and looking over her shoulder at her brother, "fuck your sister good..."

>Billy lifted her leg up high and slid his cock over her pussy a few more times. He couldn't really find her hole, but it was so hot sliding on her slick heat. She was so wet for him already...
>Mary got impatient and slipped a hand down there to guide him in.
>And as soon as his dick touched home base, he surged forward, making her scream.
>Her breasts bounced in Freddy's face, and the boy felt her nipple touch his cheek through her extremely tight shirt, and he latched onto it with his mouth, sucking on her breast, shirt and all.
>Mary's hand was stroking Freddy's dick faster, harder. Her pussy was clenching around Billy so tightly.
>The three of them were getting lost in their passion.
>It was hard to tell where one stopped and the other two began.
>Their magic sparkled and sizzled between their bodies as their hormones kicked into overdrive, and their motions became a blur.
>Billy was groaning in his sister's ear, and she was spurring him on.
>"Cum for me, baby," she cooed to him over her shoulder, "Cum for your big sister."
>He couldn't even think as he mindlessly humped her sex hard and fast, so rough her ass was turning pink. His hands wrapped around her waist and he held her so tight not an inch could separate them.
>"Do you want it, sis?" he asked her, breathless, pleading for release.
>Mary moaned, "Give it to me, babe, pump it into me, don't stop, fuck... d-don't stop..."
>Freddy yanked her shirt down, causing her breasts to spill out into the air.
>Mary didn't have a second to look down before her brother was sucking on one exposed nipple and fingering her other one.
>Her hand was stroking his dick faster. She could feel his twitching, growing, filling up with jizz. She squeezed his balls and he cried out against her breast, so she squeezed him again.
>"M-Mary, it feels like I'm gonna burst!" he exclaimed, humping her hand.
>She grinned lecherously, begging both of her brothers to cum for her; all over her tits and all inside her pussy.

shazam - Wonder woman - Aquaman - Suicide Squad - JL - MOS - BVS

I liked the movie but I thought it was simultaneously too kiddy and surprisingly edgy.
A lot of jokes were stuff for my kid niece to laugh at and a lot of stuff would also make her actually shit herself with fear.
Very weird.

Definitely my favorite DCEU by far
>that credits sequence

>Stealing the batmobile and taking WW to fuck her inside the car
Based.

Mark Strong is a fucking great actor. Glad he's getting praise for this.

>Aquaman getting all the selfies while Superman is ignored
It’s the little things

Break even is 230

It's like Harry Potter
people are so sensitive about this shit geez

Honestly, that's one of my favorite parts of Shazam. While excessive crossovers are annoying and dilute a story way too much, I actually like that JL happened first. Gives the DCEU a casual, lived in feeling that makes for great background dressing. Can't wait for more heroes and villains to show up.

Sensitive about what? I'm being objective here. I know for a fact my niece would find the demon shit and their kills scary. I myself didn't think it was scary. I thought it was kinda cool.

And I never liked HP but didn't it start like pretty light and just gradually got edgier as things escalated and the characters got older?
Seems more consistent in tone than this movie at least. Dude killing his family in cold blood was a very strong scene. Some people behind me actually went "damn..." when he chucked his brother through the window

Some scenes are intense for kids, and it's actually making real use of its PG13 rating, which has been watered down over the years in movies to mean some stronger dialogue full of swear words and innuendos. Let kids be scared, as long as the heroes triumph they'll be alright.

Coolest scene of the movie was Billy jumping off the building, heroically screaming SHAZAM and flying super fast forward.

I don't know, it was very badass. I hope kids like the character again.

>"Mary, I-"
>She opened her mouth, stuck her tongue out, and pumped his cock as he shot out his sticky semen all over her exposed tits, her face, and her pink tongue.
>She greedy swallowed what she could, and her hands rubbed the thick globs of jizz on her breasts, smearing it across her fair skin.
>She felt Billy start hammering her faster than ever before, and she readied herself. She latched onto his hip and used her super strength to help rocket his dick into her womb.
>"Mary!" he yelled as he started pumping cum into her womb, too horny to even pause his swift fucking thrusts.
>The woman moaned and held him close as he fucked more and more jizz into her tight hole.
>"That's a good boy," she stroked his hip as he shook, still filling her up, "Put it all deep inside your sister~"
>With a loud grunt, he collapsed beside her, his dick plugging her hole. Her pussy milked him for a few more pumps of his semen, but soon his dick popped out and it all came out like a rushing wave.
>Their mixed fluids soaked the ground between their legs, and it was staining her skirt. But she didn't care.
>Mary rolled onto her back, her perky, round ass sitting in their cum, and she pulled her brothers to her chest.
>They rested together, her brothers occasionally sucking on her tits, her sometimes stroking their hair and holding their lips to her body.
>She gave each a kiss, feeling their warm hugs soak into her body as their spent releases dried on her skin and clothes.
>Mary smirked.
>Maybe she was the true villain after all~

Weirdly attracted to the mom

>looks at the RT scores between Shazam and CM
oh no NO NO

This is such poorly pieced together bait

Shazam > Wonder Woman > Aquaman > Man of Steel > BvS > JL = SS

Swap around Wonder Woman and Aquaman and you've got a deal

Also, everything below Man of Steel is garbage

Second this.

Attached: Alita3.jpg (395x488, 42K)

I felt this too. It felt like it was a Disney Original or a Nickelodeon movie.

Shave off 30 minutes from Man of Steel and remove the necksnappering and it stops being garbage too.

Nothing will ever make the whole Pa Kent shit not garbage. It needs a complete overhaul.

>all this hetero shit

Absolutely disgusting.

Attached: 1554610229057.png (1080x1080, 661K)

Aquaman was basically a battle shonen put to screen and I loved it for that but Wonder Woman was a much better paced movie.
I actually thought Man of Steel, outside of suicidal tornado dad, was a solid movie right up until the middle of the Smallville fight. Then things just could not stop exploding and the fights, while visually nice, just made Superman look like a dumb bruiser.

MoS was mediocre, with a few modifications it could have been decent. BvS on the other hand...

Loved that scene as well as the one in the carnival at the start of the climax. A lot of his noncomedic transformations were great, and even when he was transforming just to escape.

Based

wonder woman the first avenger comes out
>WW is the best DC movie

aquabro comes out
>Aquaman is the best DC movie

>Shazam is the best DC movie

and each time a new movie comes out the last one gets a ton of flak. DC is truly broken.

Hmm, no I do not agree
Shazam > Aquaman > MoS > Wonder Woman > SS > BvS

There was this bearded hobo dude that appeared as one of the extras when Shazam saves the bus. I thought that was the spirit of the wizard.

But I still think The Dark Knight is the best DC movie followed closely by Superman I & II and then Shazam

I thought it was Tawny from Smith's Monster Society of Evil.

I'd switch Shazam & Wonder Woman but I pretty much agree with the rest.

>He's still trying to pull the WW/TFA bullshit
You sound pretty broken as well, pal.

Sivana's dad is covered in blood after the accident. I still think it's pretty much a kid's film (in a good way). Any kid over 10 would probably have a blast with the film.

>"have a blast"

Yet we get everything.

>BEST DC Film
So the standards are THAT low

In the final fight it looks like all the kids got one of Shazam's powers. What did Mary get? She did fucking nothing in her fight.

Wisdom of Solomon maybe?

>Billy on top

I think her Flashpoint self had the Stamina of Atlas and Eugene had the Wisdom of Solomon. Also Geoff Johns’ current Shazam run has Eugene able to understand machines

He is the top. The kid who plays him is ripped and he can transform into a big guy, while Freddy is just a crippled nerd.

Truly, a complicated soul

No one wants a picture of Superman's face... Dat ass shot tho.

She’s the den mother; the stabilizing influence amongst the siblings. So Mary is definitely Stamina; she was fending off the Sin she was dealing so that nobody else gets hurt.

Makes sense now. Thanks guys!

Nope. I don’t know if I’ll write anything else for this fandom or not, but thanks for asking.

>This was a children's movie

Uh, no, Aquaman was actually good. BvS was bad. Get it straight.

That's the plan

It was a sort of film kids would watch back in 90's

>It was a sort of film kids would watch back in 90's
So it's terrible

Imagine being a hot boy in a family with foster mom and two foster sisters (and also a crippled homosex brother).

Aquaman was trash

Yeah. Like even back then it would be. But everyone would still watch it and claim it was awesome, because it's Christmas-themed and all the other flicks in cinema were simply unwatchable

didn't know that billy was this much of a brat
why does he deserve powers if he's a little prick?

>Outlook: not so good

That's the whole point. Billy tells the wizard that there are no perfect people, and he's not perfect by any means (and he never was, not even in the Golden Age). Billy is a normal kid, that's why children loved Captain Marvel more than Superman.

>implying the wizard wasn't Santa

He's the perfect foil because he's a damn little kid himself, an adult who never grew up and just wants the "magic" that makes him good enough.

What was your reaction to Birry Bat Son's mom being a teen mom who abandoned him?

>Billy gets to be the chosen one despite being a little shit now because "lol we couldn't find anyone better"
>Mary is still literally without sin and about half a block away at the time

>this nicely sets up the base for Billy's arc, who's constantly displaced and looking for his mom.
>after he arrives in his destination, the compass makes him see he was following the wrong path this whole time.
>he finally finds a place to stay and separates himself from his amulet.
>it's the end of his quest, and he passes the compass to his mom, another lost soul, in the hopes that she also finds herself

>Thad's childhood amulet is a lucky 8-ball
>an instrument for not only the lost, but the unsure. Providing direct answers to people who don't know what to do. This isn't a tool to help you in your destiny, it's one that takes your control from it.
>this provides a base for the villain whose agency is not his, but the demons controlling him. He's not in control of his destiny, but following directions given by his masters.

CAN I GET A POTTERY?
SNYDER YOU DID IT AGAIN YOU MADMAN

As an orphan who was abandoned by his parents and left his aunt, this scene hit me right in the fucking feels, but you know, some times that kind of shit happens, when I finally reached out and found my mom it turned out she had remarried and had two other kids and didn’t want anything to do with me. That line about Billy going back to his real family was like a shot in the heart man.

the best part was the real version of Billy's idealized memory. It was kinda bleak and surprisingly mature for this film

Also holy shit was she raped? She was 17 when she left him, and he was what, 4?

I took "I was 17" as referring to her age when she had him not the age when she bailed

17 when she had him, not when she left IIRC.
Still, 17 year olds shouldn't be preggo and be left as single mothers.

>what's this?
What a depressing but touching line to wrap up Billy's arc.

>the best part was the real version of Billy's idealized memory
I didn't see much difference between the two.

I was surprised they didn't either have him explain it or have her throw it out

Anybody who thinks this isn't the best DCEU movie has to be fucking lying to themselves

the whole exchange was just beautiful

What are the other kids called? Mrs. Shazam?Shazam Jr.?

release date TBA. presumably 2021 at earliest

Fags, I'm seeing both because taking sides is stupid

They're all random bullshit nobody remembers.

It's mostly tonal. Like the line "Your mom's not exactly going pro here" in Billy's version is said as a kind of loving joke whereas in the real version it's angry sarcasm.

It was just one subtle change. She wasn't chirpy and happy but tired and stressed out.
She wasn't Perfect Supermom, basically. The real flashback and her not remembering the compass were there to show Billy's ideolized mom didn't exist.

Reminder that this all ties back to children, or rather family, as power. Billy's mom had a genuine super power in her hands as the form of her son but had 0 responsability with it. And she lost it, she wasn't worthy of the power of being a mom. Meanwhile the foster mom has it in spades by doing her best to help as many children as possible.
Think I'm reaching? Just remember her mini-van had a "I'm a foster mom, what's your superpower?" sticker.

I ain't , this shit isn't deep. But it's nice to have details like this.

The difference was in the mom's emotional acting (and probably some shifts in sound/camera work as well) but it went over your head because of the autism.

>user has good taste
Heh, not too shabby.

Freddie was called "Captain Marvel Jr." at one point and Mary was called Mary Marvel but these can't work for obvious reasons. The credits called them "Super Hero ____" so "Super Hero Freddie, Super Hero Victor, etc."

>Billy is nearly as tall as, or actually taller than his mother
>Billy is the adult in this situation

>Sivanna uses a sequence of seven repeated seven times to open a door to the thing hes been searching for his entire life
>Billy's mothers apt is 707

The little details that served as thematic bridges in this movie really impressed me.

that's not what original story was about
Billy in the original was pure boy

Attached: Seven_Deadly_Enemies_of_Man_001.jpg (544x439, 96K)

The annoying thing about the Shazam Family is that since they never spell out that "Power of Zeus" = "can create and cast down gods" it seems like a giant asspull.

Though I'm not sure any writer since Beck has realized that was why he could do it rather than just blindly copied the ability into their story as a legacy element.

Uh... guys...
C-can we talk about adult Darla?
She puts weird thoughts in my head

Attached: 1411081944879.png (1082x972, 1.04M)

Mary Marvel actually still works, Marvel comics has no claim on that title. Was one of the old arguments for making her the lead Justice League girl back when Wonder Woman was a failing property.

iirc the CoS version is named "Mary Shazam" though

I dunno, not really an asspull, knowing next to nothing about Captain Marvel I just assumed it was the staff doing the trick.

I was however confused by how the power transfer works, because when the Sorcerer gives his power to Billy, he clearly lose them in the process and dies. Thaddeus' actions pretty clearly assume that Billy will lose all his powers and stop being a threat if he gives them to him. Yet when Billy shares his power with his family, he still keeps them all, and yet each of them gain only one power (but somehow, all of them apparently have a degree of super-strength necessary to throw down with the Sins)

Shazam and Aquaman are the only super heroe movies I actually enjoy, I don't know if I would call them good movies, but I liked them.

Me too user, me too

>Shazam and Aquaman are the only super heroe movies I actually enjoy
In the entire history of hero movies ever? Don't be that hard of a fanboy m8.

You need to be over 18 to post here, young lad.

My take is that Billy wasn't transferring his power, but sharing it. I also didn't see it as being so hard and fast as each of them getting one segment of the powerset, but rather each of them got all of it, but stood out in one area.

Well, yeah, you're right, I was talking more about from the first avengers to now, The first Iron man was pretty alright, and some movies definitely have part I enjoy, but as a whole, I wouldn't really re-watch any of them.

I want to see teen Darla in her Ms. Marvel costume

>shipping the foster brothers
Well, I kinda expected that to happen. (I'm amusedly reminded of how Glazer and Wolfhard's characters in It - Chapter One got paired and subjected to a lot of fan attention back when the film screened...)

I mean the short answer is "Shazam is 80 years of piled up continuity problems", and it's especially never been consistent about how the power sharing thing works or how much of a wizard Billy himself is. Sometimes Freddy and Mary can open up more power reserves for Billy by turning off their Marvel forms, sometimes they're all infinitely powerful regardless. Sometimes Billy has no knowledge of magic himself just magically-powered super abilities, sometimes he has control over the Rock of Eternity to the point that he can rewrite rules of magic for plothax.

In this movie Power of Zeus includes both the zappy beams and creating new pantheon members, and the Wisdom of Solomon includes demonology but seemingly not much else.

Why was the Eye of Sin conveniently placed in that Hall like some kind of Forbidden Fruit

>Well, I kinda expected that to happen

Shazam never killed anyone in this movie

Just saw it it was amazing.

According to Wonder Woman, all religions and magic are fake and were actually inspired by ancient alien technology.

According to Shazam, magic is real and all religions are inspired by the shattered memories of people who were abducted and tested for morality during the search for the new Wizard Jesus

Together, they fight crime.

What the fuck are you talking about

>According to Wonder Woman, all religions and magic are fake and were actually inspired by ancient alien technology.

Can someone explain the post credits stinger?

Shazam has a lot of powers but cannot talk to fish.

Oh I meant the one with Silvana

Why couldn't Thaddeus escape his cell with the magic writing he discover a quarter hour into the movie ?

Google Mr Mind user

His hero form looks just like his dad in his comic. What does it mean?
>As Captain Marvel, Billy takes on the form of his late father
oh ok
but what's the message and the meaning, really
and him taking form of his father feels kinda dumb. an idea I like more is that billy as an adult looks like his father because he's his son, duh.
Was his dad good to him? To her?
How old was he? Wow, is she really 17 in this picture too?

Jesus christ every fucking time with you retards.

Trailer views indicate level of interest meaning box office success

There is an extremely evil adorable caterpillar named Mr. Mind. You saw him imprisoned in a glass jar on the Rock when Thad first showed up as a boy, then broke out when Thad freed the Sins, hence the broken jar when Billy first spoke to the wizard.

I genuinely wonder what Snyder thinks of Shazam, it was announced way far back when he was in charge of the DCEU but it feels tonally distant from the stuff that happened in BvS. I doubt Snyder would ever have plans to put Billy on the Justice League

bitch I will cut you

I mean he had plans for Ryan Choi so who knows

What was he doing with the wizard anyway. The old guy doesn't exactly strike me as someone who would let a caterpillar with world-dominating ambitions on a slow day just munch lettuce for a couple millenia.

Depending on the writer, Captain Marvel either looks that way because he is Billy as an adult, because Billy's idealized father is his idea of the perfect hero, or because Captain Marvel is an incarnation of magic that exists in the Rock outside of time and that's just what he looks like.

He was in prison there, same as the sins.

So Joker is going to rake in the cash?

>because Billy's idealized father is his idea of the perfect hero
Should have gone for that one in the movie just for practical reasons

His fanboys hate it so he must

That sure looks like pottery, indeed.

Probably yes

It has a small budget, it's released in October and people seemed to be obsessed with it.

Then it's weird that Shazam never mentioned him before dying.
>THOU MUST BE READY TO FACE THE SEVEN SINS I WAS TASKED TO GUARD BUT WHO ARE NOW LOOSE UPON THE WORLD
>ALSO THOU SHALL WATCH OUT FOR ARM-SIZED CATERPILLARS SPEAKING THROUGH A CHEST APPARATUS
>NOW SAY MINE NAME

I felt so uneasy because of that, and my pants got tight because of little Darla

It never seemed like Snyder himself pushed for absolute consistency across the board for all the DCEU movies. Wonder Woman was basically set in stone by the time BvS backlash hit, Snyder himself produced the movie and wrote the story and was okay with the direction Jenkins went in for the character (even to the point of accepting her retcon of Diana leaving humanity).

>According to Wonder Woman, all religions and magic are fake and were actually inspired by ancient alien technology.
What the hell?

And due to the guy playing Joker and it being Joker outside of the connected universe, it will attract more than just the usual cbm crowd

Couldn't Silvana shout Shazam when holding the staff?

Fucking dream world, man!

I see, thanks. I guess that third option doesn't even really outline or take into account his father.
>Billy's idealized father is his idea of the perfect hero
awww that's sweet
still, he looks like he's twice the age of billy's mother. what the hell. okay, maybe not that severe and he's in his mid 20s, but that's still a lot. did they make his mom much younger? it kinda ruins everything, gives it a bit of an unresolved darkness

This is the important question: When are the BDs/DVDs coming out? I want to download it and watch it in good quality.

Just call him Captain Magic.

I guess the people watching are still virgins

The Wizard has always been able to do a force ghost thing though, if he has to expo-dump about Mr. Mind he'll just show up on his throne and do that.

Based on the box office, probably July

Studios tend to rush out flops on home video to recoup some of their losses

Yeah I showed my step dad the trailer and he seemed into it. I hope they don't learn the wrong lessons from Venom and try and make it PG though.

Shazam doesn't seem to be a flop.

Except that's wrong

It needs $230 million to break even. If it makes half of this weekend's gross in its second weekend it should be fine might even make some kind of profit if families come out during the Easter holiday

Unfortunately it probably won't because it has terrible word of mouth outside the US

It's not the staff that hands out powers it's the Power of Zeus.

>Freddy talks about how flight is the heroic power and how people always pick invisibility instead because of ulterior motives
>when he gets Shazamed, his expertise is flying

Pottery.

Attached: latest[1].png (720x540, 592K)

It's not. It's earned on the low end like Captain America or First Class. It ill end up making money. I just hope that the positive reception shows WB they can build on this and not put the sequel in a fucking death slot next time. I wonder how much money it lost because of people already buying Endgame tickets?

>bullshitting numbers

It will be fine. Just look at the Box office for some shit films. They almost always make double their opening. Even shit like King Arthur or Mortal Engines

I know things like facts and the truth terrify you DC retards but that's what it is

I would agree except for the fact that China hates it and Endgame is getting closer and closer

And making double your opening is not an accomplishment of any kind.

It only had a budget of 90 million, doubling it brings it to 180. Learn math retard

it's so bizarre how the wizard gives powers to billy just like that
like, snap, and billy's wrecking somebody's car

Attached: wizards.png (200x240, 13K)

I'm saying films make at least double their opening and doubling the opening would put it past the 230mil mark
>You DC retards
Oh it's you

This feels like a kids film like more than most superhero films.

This honestly would have benefitted with a PG rating aside from the office scene there was nothing really unsuitable for kids.

I think Billy has to give permission first. "Say my name" or something like that

You’re right if only Shazam was raped in prison then it’d be a mature adult film I can take seriously

lol the same shit Marvel studios did with Thor, then retconing it with Doctor Strange

Learn to think dipshit

Movies have 2 budgets, one for the movie and one for marketing the movie. They're both about the same making Shazam cost $160 million now you stupid fuck try and figure what double $160 million is.

Getting past the $230 million dollar mark means literally nothing it needs to get way past that to make any kind of profit

>if only Billy was raped in prison
Now we are talking

C'mon buddy, you even got the small flashback with the wizards saying that he was opening his heart to Billy, you cant simply take it away it must be given.
We do have 6 champions but 7 thrones so we should get another, considering of course that Adam is disqualified.

>Our movie lost money because our company charged ourselves too much money to make it. Sorry that means we can't pay taxes.

I loved that the kids seemingly picked up one part of their powers quicker based on their personality. Except Mary but I might just be forgetting.
This movie turned out really cute I initially just tagged along with friends but ended up enjoying it a lot.

Attached: 1552984251661.jpg (480x452, 11K)

This is bait

Doubling the budget is "accounting" for the marketing. Besides, Hollywood accounting is more complicated than that.

Attached: 1542318227133.jpg (482x609, 47K)

>Except Mary

Either they cut some of her scenes or they're saving the revelation that she has the full power suite just like Billy for the sequel.

She was sort of sidelined in the final battle, but in retrospect, her tanking Lust made sense for her, as she's the protective big sister type. I suppose they could have put an emphasis on her being more resilient than the others or something, echoing the showcasing of Billy's powers in the store robbery.

>her tanking Lust made sense for her
doujin when?

There's no relation to the sins and who they end up fighting. Otherwise fatty would've fought Gluttony.

You mean Sloth. Darla is gluttony if anyone.

TFW they referenced the piano scene from Big

>China, China, China
But I thought China didn't matter? I mean, that's what you people kept spewing during Aquaman's run.

It's almost as if they forgot to add some scene where they showed it was a desperate last attempt after years of failing to find someone worthy. Except they did exactly that.

>(I'm amusedly reminded of how Glazer and Wolfhard's characters in It - Chapter One got paired and subjected to a lot of fan attention back when the film screened...)

Reddie is real!

Jack's character was portrayed as the bottom in that ship too. It's becoming compulsory.

Don't bother with him. According to his logic, TFA and Thor should be considered massive flops that should've never gotten sequels.

But it's not like it's a critical flop as well, it's gotten a ton of praise and good reviews.

I also liked how the fat guy went for lest show off stuff such as holding the ferris wheel, and Darla was more into saving people than fighting the bad guys.

I want to fuck Mary Marvel.

It doesn't matter

A movie trashed by critics that makes a billion is way more important to a studio than a critical darling that bombs hard

Had her fight the tentacle monster
Oh you cheeky bastards :)

But it's not bombing, that's the thing. It's a critical darling that made its money back.

The Rock confirms that Black Adam films next year

>Black Adam movie
>Shazam 2 where he comes in to meet the family
Can you imagine if this really grows popular and the main players headlining Justice League 2 are the Marvel Family and Black Adam?
Fucking insane

Black Adam is the 3rd movie.

The Movie needed a better Poster

Attached: Shazam Poster.jpg (405x600, 69K)

Fun movie with a strong emotional core, but the third act was an overly long mess. The action scenes were really poor, too.

I thought the first act was the worst

I want Shazam 2 to follow up the post credit sequence. Fuck The Rock.

I haven't seen the movie yet but hopefully I will later today.

All this talk about the movie underperforming has got me worried, although people said the same thing about Aquaman and iirc, it took a while for that movie to really get going as well.

Absolutely fucking based.

They are following the model set by the monsterverse
So maybe it will be like
2019- Shazam
2021- Shazam 2
2022- Shazam vs Black Adam

Black Adam will either be in 2021 or 2022

Well a sequels pretty much confirmed then

Ouch panicking already? Must be doing worse than we thought

youtube.com/watch?v=46csa44M2dw

How is that panicking ladderbro? The plan was to always do Black Adam and they were slated to film next year before Shazam came out.

I hope so.

>They're all getting their ass kicked when I play Black Adam
No Rock! You leave Darla alone you bully!

>Grace Randolph
Are you seriously gonna use her as source for anything?

better than the other captain marvel

I actually agree there. Should have shown Billy transforming into Shazam

I saw that video. Grace said Ant Man should have gone to streaming as well. And it's a "Liability" to Marvel

that is so dumb
fujoshits are literally dumb

I wish the Sins showed more personality in general. Pride for example (I assume he was the classical tall devil with the wings) had a cool design, but he didn't really act any differently than the rest apart from his standing posture saying "I'm so above all this". It would have been more fitting if it was Pride who was taunted out of Thaddeus at the end, because he thought merely wreaking havoc was beneath him or something.

this.

Greed being just a four-armed demon is a bit unimaginative.

How's it dumb?

Attached: img_UlJyUzlmOW1EMEc3cldBai8wUUdjdkxKMmZPK2Znb1lxQlNxQ1JWeUdDa05GK3ZsUlhwOUpRPT0.gif (272x272, 1.3M)

Envy being the one in Sivanna makes the most narrative sense. But the sins could have done with more personality

The Wizard probably hardly left the Throne Room and had no idea caterpillar Hitler even broke out

Mr Mind is in the jar at the start of the film and escaped when Sivana freed the Sins. The Wizard was to weak to leave the throne room after that

A bit where Envy is seen just looking around from a corner (or from behind SIvana) as the other Sins go ham on the Boardroom would've been great.

It's not underperforming, it was made for just under 100 mil and has already made that back, the demands weren't as high as other dc movies that cost over 300m.

To think, 200 mil wasted on awful CGI fire for the final fight with the big baddie

based

Envy was a perfect choice, but yeah, I also think there could've been a bit more of the sins.

Now you know why Philadelphia wasn't turned into a smouldering ruin like what happened in man of steel.

Good cosmic horror comics besides Outer Space?

Attached: Screenshot_20190407-234505.jpg (1080x2340, 1.96M)

Just a question, I see there are credited actors for Sivana's twin sisters and his wife, but I don't recall seeing them at all. Was it some sort of "blink it and you miss it" kinda thing? 'cause I saw it on 3D (the only showings available) and had to look away from the screen from time to time 'cause it makes me a bit dizzy.

Likewise

I saw it in 2D and there were no scenes with Sivana's twin sisters or wife. Must've been cut at the last minute.

Did you get that from IMDb? They're full of shit half the time. If not it could have been a cut scene

Yeah, saw them on the imdb. Sivana's wife is listed as played by the producer's wife, who also had a role in Aquaman. I guess it's ok if you marry them.

oh fug yer right!

Can anyone post the virgin Captain Marvel vs the chad Shazam image?

Ant-Man is among the best Marvel movies. Fuck Grace and fuck Marveltards.

China got the best poster, but it flopped there
a tragedy

Attached: o_1d7qv3lu3qpfnicj5dr1drfo15.jpg (2000x2969, 1.75M)

Ant-Man was legitimately one of the only movies I gave a fuck about in Phase 3 besides Black Panther. Why do general audiences not like movies centered on characters and their foils over a flashy spectacle?

Not to mention that Billy only really learned how to fly after he became more heroic.

Chinese fujos are starting to ship Billy/Freddy and are fangirling over the little boys though, m-maybe they'll spread positive WOM and make the movie more popular there?

Attached: N1NxYTdYcUZZU1g3bTNoaDMwazZhZkFvUU9Dd3VDSkk0dmFjZmkwbk9FK2d3eFBqUkNkOWVnPT0.jpg (1400x1900, 703K)

it was going to happen

Attached: sans.jpg (1920x1080, 157K)

if a miracle happens, because the opening weekend word of mouth is what brought it from 50 million estimatives to 30 (and a chinese action movie also opening on the same weekend so they flocked to that)

>While $57 million domestic and $159 million worldwide may not sound as heady as some other record-setting superhero cinematic debuts, this is a much more modest production -- with a budget of $90+ million and no more than roughly $40 million in marketing -- sporting a more moderate, contained story. Shazam is also a less well-known character to mainstream audiences, with a softer marketing footprint.

>But make no mistake, this is a big win for Warner Bros. and DC Films. With relatively restrained production and marketing costs, the film will break even at somewhere around $250+/- million, and now there's no question it will fly far higher than that when it ends its box office run.

forbes.com/sites/markhughes/2019/04/07/shazam-opens-to-thunderous-159-million-with-open-road-ahead/#6406f96127f6

Billy will be fine, bros

Attached: Distracting.jpg (312x646, 48K)

I like them as well, but it's because they're rather unimportant in the grand scheme of comic movies. Like all the pre-2006 films.

I didn't expect this level of kino

Based Hughes laying down the truth. I've seen people here say Shazam had marketing of 100-150mil. Fucking Infinity War had 150mil. Shazam was obviously nowhere near that

Those are some really neat details.
Also, fuck deep. Fuck people who complain about shit being "too on the nose" or whatever. I'll take lovingly crafted and well executed over depth.

I really had feels when he discovered the truth about his mother. When she lost him, I was "cinemasinning" asking myself why the hell didn't she look for him. Then I was: "oh well, probably there's some reason like Aquamommy was stuck deep in the ocean", but in the end, the horrible truth hit me hard.

However, the movie managed to deliver a fun ending.

Wise of Solomon was pretty inconsistent as a superpower, thou.

well, it actually is depth, but not hidden behind stupid symbolism that you have to decypher

If The Rock is shilling the movie's success then they must be happy, otherwise he'd quit pretending and just drop out finally. The sequel will get an increased budget and Black Adam's movie will get a huge budget just because of The Rock.

Fair enough.

Women are free in DCEU universe
They can show her legs

Funny thing is that the Chinese apparently didn't like it because it was "too childish", while embracing shit like the Transformers films. I'd even say Aquaman is more childish than Shazam.

Or they're desperate and Dwayne Johnson is trying to get more people to see it because he actually has money at stake.

I mean just look and listen at how defeated he is. Probably wearing the glasses to hide his tears

I think pic related was the best tie in reference scene

Freddie should have been using Fisticuffs Johnny Cage with the Tournament skin and hit a shadow kick and followed in with a fisticuffs string, Billy wasnt blocking

Attached: 220px-RaidenMKXrender.png (220x258, 90K)

>Wise of Solomon was pretty inconsistent as a superpower, thou.
That has always been the case with the character. I wouldn't mind if they retcon that to mean something else since it was never really portrayed properly.

Dark Mary Marvel when?

What the fuck is wrong with these people? They are stepbrothers assholes

>Chinks have the entire western film industry by the balls
>but they have terrible fucking taste

Why doesn't the US just nuke those fuckers already?

>Funny thing is that the Chinese apparently didn't like it because it was "too childish"
That is actually what South Koreans are saying, but it still applies because they also loved the Transformers flicks
China just don't care about orphans and the movie is not bombastic.

It can always be worse

Because the US also has terrible taste in movies.
The Vatican has a best of films list and they are all masterpieces.

I like how he used it to lure out Envy though

Fujos ship full on blood relatives all the time and Thorki is one of the most popular gay ships of all time. If anything, this is tame.

So, not related?
They might now that China doesn't want to buy their literal garbage.

Oh, I thought that was China, but either way it applies.
And actually, one of the things I liked the most about the movie was how character driven it was. I'm afraid that on a sequel they'll increase the budget and go on a full on CGI climax to please the Asians and we'll be screwed with yet another mediocre superhero film.

>If anything, this is tame

Except for the stuff that has Shazam!Billy having sex with Freddy

Aquaman somehow made the whole talking to fish thing kinda awesome, so, i guess there that.

Because China has every Jew in America bought and paid for to do their bidding. They have no choice.

I know right?

I am fucking certain you're a virgin.

>Somehow
It was always an awesome power

>Sivana just runs through the keys

Still tame. Find me Silvana/Kid!Billy and we'll talk.

They better have both actors playing chopsticks as a bonus scene in the DVD.

I really hope they don't make Black Adam wear the stupid cape in the movies

There's Sivana/kid!Billy and Sivana/Freddy as well.

Doh. That didn't take long.

>We should murder over a billion people because I disagree with their popular taste in foreign movies, wouldn't that just be epic for the win?

On the last minutes the kids said something about the glass ceiling and racism, but I didn't get it. What did they say?

What does Judaism have to do with anything?

Anyone nervous that the next DCEU movie might not continue the combo chain of successes?

Its either Birds of Prey from some no name director and the Wonder Woman sequel in 2020

No because I already know it won't

Shazam is the last of the Johns run of movies next up is Birds of Prey

Attached: D3eOM5gW4AIE3el.jpg (2048x2048, 642K)

Birds of Prey was written by the same person who did Bumblebee. I honestly don't know which way that will go. Wonder Woman will probably be fresh though

They run every industry in America.

I'm kinda wary of the WW sequel because I'm not sold on the 80s setting and Wiig as Cheetah and fucking Geoff Johns is credited as a writer along with the guy that did fucking Expendables, but Jenkins is a pretty decent director. Let's hope it works.

Birds of Prey looks horrendous. Like, worse than Suicide Squad somehow. Wonder Woman will probably be fine.

Joker will be Oscar kino though to make up for BoP being liquid shit.

the next movie is Joker

So how come they never cut me in on the action?

PROUD AND EMANCIPATED!
>She'll ball-bust guys 5x worse than Captain Fungus
>DCucks will eat it all up

I actually kind of want the new MK game to have a Shazam DLC

She's really going to be wearing a different outfit in every scene.

Wonder Woman will be fine
Joker will either be trash or oscar nominated like BP
Birds of Prey will probably suck but make a lot of money because Harley

Pretty sure they all are

Attached: D3FLXiTXQAEZmmh.jpg (1318x1820, 155K)

The last scene honestly felt like the most Superman moment in all of the DCEU films.

I saw both today. Shazam > Captain Marvel but Talos is the best of either.

>Alien soldier who specializes in covert infiltration, has tried to kill me, and has a hostage says I'm actually the bad guy
>Immediately accept it at face value
The war being more complicated than she realized could be one thing, but talos being a good guy and the kree just being evil was insultingly dumb and simplistic.

Shame Cavill couldn't actually do it.

I preferred it not being Cavill; makes the movie feel more like a standalone and less like an ad for the rest of the DCEU if they even keep going with that.

It's not so much for Cavill himself, but actually being able to have Superman's face. After so many shit he got with Snyder, it would've been nice to see this Superman have a nice moment like that.

>Being this retarded
I know you mouse cock suckers don't keep up with non-mcu goings ons, but Harley Quinn has been despised ever since she became the scene girl Joker. For obvious reasons.

>Snyder wrote the story

Wow, you DCucks really are fucking delusional.

Not an argument Ladderbro. Eat the fucking disc.

You mean the same Harley Quinn that made the whole trinity job for her?

Which Captain Marvel would win in a fight?

Billy, it’s a well known fact that magic is one of few energy types that Carol cannot absorb.

Billy

Are you Jewish?

Or maybe they are getting better and better?

based

literally what critics say about every Marvel movie except Captain Marvel because that was terrible

Nah, the third act was bad because it was all action scenes and the action scenes were by far the worst part of the movie. Literally zero imagination in the use of their powers or the Seven Deadly Sins' abilities and designs.

Was really happy we didn’t get a full minute of gratuitous slow motion to represent Super Speed

it was alright

The movie as a whole? Yeah. It's a fun movie with decent writing and characters. But the action scenes were absolutely awful and the third act had both the kids and the antagonist running in literal circles. Them screaming "Billy!" was the only good part.

Billy fucking with them at the end was pretty good too, and so was the "I can't hear you" bit. And I also liked that he had to use his wits to defeat Sivana. Could've been a couple of minutes shorter though, or show more of the rest of the family doing shit instead of Sivana and Billy punching each other.

Oh, yeah, some of the jokes were good. But the actual action was pretty damn bland and not very exciting.

That's 90% of superhero movies nowadays. Actually, most big blockbusters have shitty action sequences.

Maybe, but Shazam's third act was specially long.

There's a lot of good stuff in the third act, and it wasn't that long, maybe it just FELT too long for some. But there are a lot of people who enjoyed it and thought it was the best part of the movie.

It didn't feel so for me, but it needed a bit less of Billy getting punched around.

I loved how DC made fun of Marvel with their "first Asian superhero" thing

doesn't matter when disney just wipes people's memories

That comment from Mary about how racist it sound was good

I´ll argue that the movie works because the hero gets punched a lot. If he was fully capable from the very beginning there wouldn't be any stakes in the story.

Yeah, I liked that aspect of it, as well as the fact that one of the flying sequences was indoors and among people. It kept things more grounded which was really nice. But still, I think it got a bit too repetitive at one point. Just a minor complaint though, I really loved the movie.

Decent movie>Average MCU movie=Shazam > Aquaman > MoS > Wonder Woman > SS > BvS

>big dumb emotional scene where Billy is in front of a house practicing what to say to his long lost mother
>a black lady opens the door

I saw it coming a mile away and still cringed. why must DC treat its dwindling audience like this?

Okay, just done watching it. Holy shit, it was so good. Even shed a tear a bit. The mom was a fucking bitch. Like a really fucking bitch. Oh what, your husband went to prison? Oh, you fucking abandon your kid? Oh, you got a new abusive boyfriend next? She should also be in prison with her shit ex-husband.

is it pedophilia if I want to jack off to Shazam

I was waiting for the dissappointment after finding out she was alive and lived in a shitty apartment but I wasnt ready for the "I actually saw you afterward and left you anyway" part though.

I hope we can see bullshit science Sivana someday. Magic is fine, but I like scientist Sivana. Maybe he could come up with some combination of magic science.

Attached: 1547016367345.jpg (1200x976, 208K)

What are some good recent examples of science magic in DC? I think its a rare perk because I can’t really think of any good ones aside from Doom Patrol.

Well he was studying that particular magic for years using a scientific approach so he probably has some bullshit science knowledge. And now that the power has been taken away from him he will have to rely on something else. Part of the reason he spent so many years was most likely about the mystery of it all than anything else.

>Asshole dad gets mauled to death by demon.
He was figuratively devoured by greed. Good movie.

BRING BACK THE HALF CAPE REEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I'm thinking that he would finally turn to science after being burned too much by magic. Like first it was with the wizard. Next would be Mr. Mind.

did he confused this with Thor?

Yep.

Man of Steel > Batman v Superman >>> Aquaman > Shazam >> Wonder Woman >>>>> Justice League >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Suicide Squad

This book was fuckin' kino. I kind of wish they had followed it more closely and made Billy more of a little shit in the movie. It would have felt more powerful when he finally befriended his foster family in the end.

Personally, I hope that Sivana shifts to being a man of science in future movies. He should shun magic because it failed him, and try to prove that science is superior. To me, the magic vs science angle was one of the more appealing parts of the Shazam/Sivana rivalry.

Why is it that the animated credits sequences for capeshit movies are more clever and genuinely creative than the entire movies themselves? Like, holy shit. I think there was a similar instance in that Spider-Man movie with Michael Keaton as the bad guy.

then this must suck some shit. cause aqua man was like so fucking weird, couldn't keep tones and so many scenes felt stitched together so inconsistent

On the surface he's a prick, but just about everything "bad" he does is superficial. He hurts other people's feelings and is disrespectful, but when the chips are down, Billy always does what's right because he's been hurt himself and hates to see others treated unfairly. Fucking Yea Forums tards couldn't grasp this when that story came out 8 years ago and they still can't, despite the fact that it's not even subtle. They just wanted to screech "NOT MUH BILLY!"

The problem is the execution. Johns Billy comes off as a stock angsty teen who is good deep down. It's just cliche after cliche. And the fact that Frank's kids look like 30 year olds doesn't help either. The movie was better because it gave Billy more of a personality, and both his angst as well as his turn at the end came off much more naturally and believeable.

He's probably Asian. Aquaman wasn't better than this in any way, unless you go to the cinema to watch CGI.

>to watch Godzilla
I sat through that trailer and said "They finally made the movie I've been waiting for. All the monsters and forgettable humans, just like the old days." People in the theater ROARED and I wish I'd recorded it.

>Weirdly attracted to the mom
when the camrips come out Yea Forums will have webms of that running down the steps scene

I'm old enough to have seen that show and as much as I love this character, zero nostalgia for the show. Joanna Cameron as ISIS however…

shazoom underpeformed because we didn’t have an obligatory shirtless scene

Nope, beaner
Shazam also lacks a lot of internal logic, mainly with the fact that the kid can't find her mom that's still alive and living in the same city, social services and cops didn't help him, nor the mpm faced any kind of crap for children abandoning

Shazam keeps a tone, is just boring and simple, dragginger it for far too long and with very ltitle show for a expensive cinema screen. Every animated movie featuring this character was better and more exciting

>I want to fuck Mary Marvel.
youtube.com/watch?v=axXAgcBAFmw

I loved this movie.
DC is honestly taking the lead over marvel, they've got great stuff suddenly.
My only problem is it feels awkward seeing how hot some of them are when transformed, feels wrong to notice that.
Honestly it makes me kinda uncomfortable.

Attached: 1518486844695.jpg (415x479, 19K)

What I liked about him is that they didn't go the cliche way of him trying to earn his father's approval but he just fucking killed him and didn't give a shit.

>that's still alive and living in the same city
We don't know in which city they were living when he got lost though. They mentioned him being born in Minnesota or something like that. A lot of people get away with lots of shit by simply going to a different state and start over. The only thing that came off somewhat contrived is that she ended up living so close to where he ended up living.
But even if we consider that a plot hole, it has nothing to do with internal logic. It doesn't contradict anything that the movie tried to set up.

>The Vatican has a best of films list and they are all masterpieces.
What's their favorite men in underwear beating each other up motion picture

>But even if we consider that a plot hole, it has nothing to do with internal logic. It doesn't contradict anything that the movie tried to set up.
The movie set up the fact that Billy has been searching for his mom and has been pretty vocal about it. It also set up cops looking for her.

Frankly, it makes no sense. Like she didn't just take a whole new identity, she just went back to her maiden name. At no point does no one in the social service gets an automated response saying "this missing person has suddenly been active" ?

I agree.
Loved it, and it showed how well my critiques of MoS would have worked exactly how I thought they would have to make a better movie.
If I had one critique I know anons here will disagree with, I hated the red swooshes on Superman's costume. Beside that, everything about it was wonderful. I can't wait to watch it again.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatican's_list_of_films

>and the BEST PG13 CBM
That's a bit niche, don't you think?

Again, you can call it a plot hole but it's got nothing to do with internal logic. And in there has been many issues with states and sometimes even counties within a state in the US not sharing information and allowing criminals and scammers to stay at large for years. If someone isn't even a criminal but a deadbeat, nobody's gonna spend any resources in finding her. You'd be surprised to find out how many kids in foster homes are from parents that just fucked off. He was a little kid, he didn't know his mom's security number, he more than likely didn't know his address, he looked pre-school as well so it's not like they could've gone to the school to get all that information. Kids are "found" because most of the time the parents are actually looking for them, but it hardly happens the other way around. That's what foster homes are for.

Honestly the one editing decision I was really puzzled by in Aquaman was showing Arthur and Mera say they need to get to Sicily and then suddenly they're teleported to Sicily after they already said they were wandering in the middle of vast desert. Then their brief bonding time in Sicily has Orm's visit to the Fishermen placed right before their scene with the map in the bottle.

If they just placed the cut of the Fishermen in between the two locations instead it would have been less jarring to notice and stood out less.

>Shazam is the last of the Johns run
His run was WW, Aquaman, Shazam, and the post-BvS fallout alterations to Justice League, right?

Did it really flop?

Yeah

No, every article is talking about how it's doing great. Learn to numbers

any proof?

Can't blame user for thinking a movie with a more modest box office isn't a bomb when the DCEU thus far has trained us to the standards that count as successful for movies with budgets North of two to three hundred million, before including the cost of marketing. "Shazam!" is in a different league than it's predecessors. It's probably better to hold it to the standards that defined "It" as successful more than MoS, BvS, or even Wonder Woman.
I am happy though, as I really hope it is seen as doing well for WB.

It made $800 million. Shazam won't even see HALF that

thanks, lego, for yet another batman

Attached: Batman-76120.jpg (900x709, 129K)

Just because it didn't make a billion doesn't mean it bombed

No. A WB executive said that they were aiming at a 40+ million opening as a number that worked for them. It got 53. It's not gonna be an insane moneymaker but it's working to gain a lot of faith on the brand that was lost due to Snyder.

Yes, but It was considered successful well before it's final box office from the standpoint of profit proportional to production cost. It had had a much smaller cost of production. Most New Line films do, which is probably why the guy who ran that was made the had of WB. He had proven that he was able to get more profitability out of smaller production costs than his "Let spend $100 Million more doing a shitty job removing Henry Cavill's mustache digitally" predecessor.

Fair to compare it to Batman Begins?
A movie connected to predecessors with a lot of bad PR tied to it, that was a slow burn because most of it's success came via word of mouth from people who saw it and saw how good it was, telling people who remembered Batman and Robin that it wasn't like that and was much better.

First off, It made 700 million and Shazam will likely do a bit over half of that. Second, It was probably the biggest hit WB had in the whole year, box office wise. Shazam will be a much more moderate success. It's a mid budget movie doing decent business and reinforcing the good faith on the DC brand. Movies like BvS were more successful in their BO run but they meant diminishing returns for WB in the long run, while a movie like Shazam is the exact opposite.

Kinda, yes. You could even compare it to phase 1 Marvel films. TFA and Thor, for instance were nowhere near the hits that Iron Man was, with TFA actually probably losing money since it did the same numbers that Shazam will probably end up doing on a much larger budget. But they were successful as a step in building up a franchise and name recognition.

While I agree overall, I question how much time is has to slow burn considering the fact that the Endgame buzzsaw is 3 weeks away, and IIRC there is another high profile movie coming out before then.

Hellboy is a dumpster fire and nobody is looking forward to it

I wasn't thinking of Hellboy. Does Pikachu come out before or after Endgame?

Pokemon comes out in may

After

>The Riddler of all fucking people requires Batman in the Batwing, Shazam and Jim Gordon in a squad car to take down
Wat

dont ? it.

Pikachu is also WB so they wouldn't release it in a date that would fuck over one of their own films. By the time Endgame comes out, Shazam would've already almost all of its bank whether big or small since it'll be on its fourth weekend, so while it's going to lose some money because of it, it's not what's gonna make it or break it. Word of mouth seems to be great on Shazam. It's got an A cinemascore and a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, so it seems like it's gonna do well until Endgame drops.

Sounds good then. Appears I was foolishly concerned. Thanks for correcting me, anons.

I kinda wish it was doing better than fine, but I'm certainly glad we got a great Shazam movie. Can't remember the last time I actually laughed out loud in the cinema like I did with this film.

>Can't remember the last time I actually laughed out loud in the cinema like I did with this film.
The thing for me though was that as funny as some moments were, when Bill thinks he's going to slam into the ground, then realizes he's hovering then realizes he really can fly I laughed out loud not because I thought it was funny or lame, but because it took me back, and made me imagine what it would feel like to be a 15 year old making that discovery, and legitimately made me so happy that apparently I thought a smile wasn't enough to express it, and the smile needed to be accompanied with laughter. It's not just that it was "fun" or funny. I loved the movie because it made me happy, even during the more tense moments with darker content (that never felt overwhelming or smothering more than just adding stakes to what I was watching).
What a concept. You can have a positive protagonist, dealing with some emotional shit, present a threat that is frightening, but not present that fright to a degree that it overwhelms the positivity of the character or film, and yet despite balancing different tones within the same scene, effectively convey unique tones of each scene that may be different than the intended tone of the movie, without betraying, or compromising the intended tone of the movie. It's almost like being able to do so is a talent some people have that others do not.

I feel the same. I'm recommending it to everyone I can, and I want it to do great given what a good movie it turned out to be, but the fact that it even exists like this is just a gift.

So when do actual mk characters start showing up in dc films

Yeah, I got many somewhat nostalgic smiles like that, but what really surprised me is how well written and executed the comedy was. There was a lot of proper set ups and payoffs, with great delivery from both the actors and the director. Most comedy in these type of films comes in the way of one liners that you can tell were written in punch up sessions. Most of the comedy here was actually part of the actual plot and had some great payoffs, like the strip club thing that just seemed as yet another bit on the "Billy does adult things" montage until the payoff comes up and it's just so satisfying. Very few superhero movies are as well written as this one was, it really caught me off guard.

Attached: 787.gif (400x227, 887K)

This isn't Alfred Molina as Doc Ock with a sliver of humanity waiting to come out. Thadeus Bodog Sivana is a bad man from a line of bad men (no toys at Christmas, so at least his grandfather)

Even the comp to Molina Ock, is a bit of a stretch, as Thad was clearly molded at a young age to do anything necessary to get back to the Rock of Eternity at a point before most people develop their own determination of right and wrong, and what they should or should not do. On top of that, every indicator we saw in the Board meeting suggested that he was still being treated badly by his father and brother, which would only reinforce his drive to do what he needed to to get back to what he thought was his ticket out of his otherwise shitty situation.

At least Ock had a chance to grow up and lead a more stable life, before losing his wife and being cognitively comprised by the broken inhibitor chip.

That's Strange, why do you think it was well-written?

I already said it in that post. Every single element that was introduced had a payoff. You know, Chekhov's gun.
Also, Sivana is pretty much Billy's negative reflection, specially regarding family.
And then there's the comedy which had a very high ratio of landing, (and I live in a non-English speaking country, so most of them even survived translation) and they're properly constructed jokes, not just simple one liners. For instance, at the climax, when you're expecting that big moment with the family getting the powers and when Billy tells them to yell his name and they all go "Billy!", everybody was laughing out loud and at the same time, it wasn't forced at all because it was linked with the current theme of him not having a superhero name, and it's the logical reaction from the kids who just know him as Billy.
