How would a Hawkman movie work? Even better how would you rewrite Hawkmans story?

Right because when I think of Hawkman, I think he's in dire need of another rewrite...

2 hours of sex appeal, there ya go

>rewrite Hawkmans story

keep doing it until we get him right

What is so complicated? He reincarnated into many people.

The current Hawkman on-going is kino and has fixed a lot of the issues with him. That being said, if I were to do a Hawkman movie, I'd just ape Dredd and do Hawkworld.

TRYING TO FIX HAWKMAN'S HISTORY IS WHAT GOT IT SO FUCKED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE
YOU DON'T FIX A CONVOLUED STORY BY MAKING IT MORE CONVOLUTED

Too bara for the big screen. His bare hairy chest would cause way too many orgasms at the theater.

You know that scene with Gabriel in the movie Legion kind of gets you pumped for a Hawkman movie

You know that Brave and the Bold episode where Equinox tries to erase Batman from time by killing off his ancestors. Let's do that with Hawkman but we replace every villain and hero with Hawkman

You fix it by saying fuck the past
clean slate

I'd literally just make an adaptation of his GA origin from Flash Comics #1, maybe with Gentleman Ghost as a secondary villain to Hastor/Hath-Set. It would be a period piece, and any reference to Thanagar would be an in-joke (Shiera is seen reading a pulp magazine; it's called "The Hawk-Man of Thanagar" and this inspires the name Hawkman).

It would start off in Ancient Egypt and feel like a weird historical romance, then a horror movie as Khufu dies and vows revenge on Hath-Set, then a rollicking Raiders of the Lost Ark adventure with Carter Hall in the 30s finding Nth metal in a tomb somewhere, then your standard hero origin, then a 1930s-style Tracy-Hepburn-esque romantic comedy between Carter and Shiera, then a mad scientist movie as Hastor goes insane after "those fools" reject his scientific theories, he then partners with Gentleman Ghost (who seems to just be a comic-relief trickster criminal who isn't really supernatural), then there's a big super-hero showdown where Shiera suits up last minute and becomes Hawkgirl after Hastor kicks his ass. Carter and Shiera then fall in love and become partners. Roll credits.

Post-credits scene shows that Gentleman Ghost really IS a ghost, setting up for a more horror-themed sequel, possibly with Dr. Fate getting involved.

> Full film switching back & forth between 2 time periods like True Detective/Cloud Atlas.
> Flashback time period is him being a space cop on Thanagar & ancient Egypt which is a outpost of theirs.
> Modern day is him is a archeologist who finds the armor and is given all the old versions memories.
> The 3rd act ends with the flashback version heroically sacrificing himself juxtaposed with the modern day version successfully saving the day.

Remember that episode of Justice League Unlimited where he gets cucked by John? Adapt that.

>how would you rewrite Hawkmans story?
I would create and entirely new standalone mythos for him and then get it mixed up with all his previous incarnations and continuity garbage snarl for shits and giggles. Just add to the ever growing pile of Hawkman origin stories.

What if you fix it by rewriting it to be less convoluted?

Hipster comedy where Hawkman is Harvey Birdmanesque lawyer who fights crime and his arch-nemesis is the notorious jewel thief Hawkgirl.

Now how would you do it while also keeping in mind that the Black Adam movie is apparently being used as setup for a Hawkman movie?

I would stop writing backdoor pilots for other movies in every movie I make because that's what gives us BvS and Justice League.

>Shadow-Thief is his diversity hire PA because technically, he's black
>Byth-Rok is a corrupt judge who plays the Mnetok role
>Hastor is a crazy new age cultist who is always getting sued
>Gentleman Ghost is completely unchanged

bump

An amalgam of the histories basically.

Start with archaeologist Carter Hall in the 40's waking up in his camp outside a dig in Egypt. He is waking from a dream where he's flying.

They are digging out Khufus tomb and they get in and find the mace, the wing harness, the helmet and the nth metal flight belt. Upon touching the mace Carter starts getting flashes of Khufus life except there all also memories of what appears to be the pharoh flying a spaceship. Raiders suddenly appear and attack Carter's crew and they flee with everything they can gather, and Carter grabs the Hawk gear/ mace. Activating the memories has also triggered the ressurection of Hath Set who suddenly remembers who he is (someone just living a normal life across the world) and begins the hunt for Carter. Kendra Saunders in America also gets her memories awoken by all the rippling magic and remembers she is Shy'era Hol and also wife of Katar Hol/Khufu, and that she must find and protect Carter. So it's kind of a race between them to find Carter first while the man himself starts trying on the armor and wings to fight off the attacking Egyptian tomb raiders and getting more memories back. Memory sequences show he was an alien cop persuing a criminal who got stuck in Egypt with his wife and partner and they stayed and ruled with their nth metal technology. Then the whole nth metal reincarnation cycle is shown and soon Carter is joined by Kendra and attacked by Hath Set whom they team up to defeat. Maybe pepper in some foreshadowing to the new update where he can reincarnate across time and space and use that to hype a sequel where he basically does the new Venditti run story of tracking down all his reincarnations.

Make him a Tanagarian who contacted this mystical artifact that scooped him and Hawkgirl and hurled them to Earth's past for some strange reason. As a side-effect of said artifact touching, he and Hawkgirl now reincarnate every time they die and their spirits find themselves dormant inside a babies that still don't have any souls (since their brains don't work before two weeks pass).

Hawkman ends up as some kind of superhero that existed since times ancient and was present during humanity's many historical moments. Brutal at times, yet always full of courage and honor, Hawkman actually impacted, along with his pals from the old Justice Society of America, many current heroes like Superman, Green Arrow and even younger rookies like Blue Beetle Jamie Reyes (and the two previous Blue Beetles too).

Despite his reincarnation powers, Hawkman cannot at will recall his past incarnations nor their memories unless he get affected by current events that result in him recalling a memory from one of his previous lives.

Hawkman was an angel who fell to earth during the battle between Lucifer and the angels loyal to God and was buried beneath the earth. Archaeologist Carter Hall discovers his remains and is possessed, making him an angelic warrior who goes out to slay criminals and lead mankind in their war against the Devil (Superman)

>Hawkworld will NEVER EVER be collected EVER
Ahh, fuck DC.

didn't they just cast him for some movie...
Also I'll partially start with ami-comi girls telling of him being protected by shaya on thanagar, shaya mom disapproving of there relationship, them both going to police academy and becoming hawks...before moving them to earth via some buddy-cop excuse.,,and then have a super Buddy-cop movie...
