Why did this show stick in my head so much?

I’m in my 20s. But I remember watching this show back when it was airing. And I rewatched it about 3 years ago online. But I just don’t get it’s stuck with me so much. All the creme of the crop shows like Batman tas, Justice League, Avatar, Teen Titans, Adventure Time, Samurai Jack etc. which I all loved. But then this show w.i.t.c.h., which wasn’t “revolutionary” or anything. But it wasn’t exactly terrible. Why has it stuck in my head so prominently? And I’ve watched a lot of shit in my life, but this show about American Sailor moon-esque girls with elemental powers has just stuck with me, and I’ve no clue why.

I've genuinely never heard of it

Well it was pretty niche now that I think about it. I believe it only aired on Jetix, and Toon Disney back in ‘05-‘07. It wasn’t immensely popular, but if you look up the show on YouTube you’ll get some surprisingly very positive feedback.

What do you want from us

cute girls

I'm a Bong, so perhaps it never aired here because I don't have the faintest of memory of it.
Some shows just stand out for whatever reason, sometimes you just remember shit for no reason.

I suppose. But that hasn’t stopped me from wondering why this show specifically. I was hopping I’d find out some people here who have seen it and what they think.

*hoping

I recently watched this for the first time after hearing from various anons that it rivals ATLA. Holy shit could they not be more wrong. The first season ranges from boring to bad, while the second season is just okay. The fight choreography is severely lacking. I could go on, but frankly this show just doesn't deserve the attention. The only way I can imagine anybody still liking this show is either they watched it during their formative years and can't remove the nostalgia goggles, or they just want to fuck the girls.

Haha NO. This show does *not* rival Avatar by any means. And it had a good bit of technical issues. Thing is though, I had a lot of nostalgia for shows from back then. Avatar and Teen Titans were probably my favorites to look back on. But w.i.t.ch. just keeps sticking out in my memory the most for me. I just don’t get why, you know?

The story is boring for the most part, but the art is nice, I like both the city where the girls live and the magical places they visit.

Those are nice. Maybe it’s a combo of the anime-esque + Italian comic book art style that sticks out?

I remember looking ad for the WITCH magazine in my Donald magazine when I was in grade school. I thought it was porn for children

There was this one kid in my high school who had a huge binder full of his fan art of the show.

>Why has it stuck in my head so prominently?
Probably because it's the magnum opus of Western animation. See below

It does not "rival" Avatar - it beats it in almost every category. Just about the only way I can imagine anybody thinking ATLA is better is either they watched it during their formative years and can't remove the nostalgia goggles, or they just want to fuck the girls in that show.

>The fight choreography is severely lacking. I could go on
No, you couldn't. Because that's just about the only thing TLA genuinely does better - and it's because W.I.T.C.H. wasn't focused on that.

I wrote an entire essay on W.I.T.C.H. vs. ATLA from to >Plot, characterization, setting, relationships, dialogue, humor, voice acting, animation, music - it aces them all. W.I.T.C.H. is truly the the magnum opus of Western animation.

I know exactly what you're talking about...

Energy in the form of lightning. It's called quintessence in the show.

(That's the first post, it's 8 in total.)

Eurofag here updating on all Burgers and non-Eurofags - this show is ok. It's not great, but not terrible. I'd watch it to wait for some other shows on Jetix like Shin-chan or Oban Star Racers.

And I swear to God, if this is Witchfag trying to instigate again, I hope the show gets a reboot that isn't loyal to it's source material, ruins it and makes everyone shit on W.I.T.C.H.

Attached: Bugs_is_very_shook.jpg (541x541, 33K)

>comparing anime to cartoons
Now that's just unfair, user. I never said it was the magnum opus of *animation* for a reason
Though it's still better than Oban

Oban is created by a frog: of course it created with the Japanese - the French are the biggest weebs in existance.
Jetix was back then pretty much Toonami but with more frogtoons and original content.
And like I said, W.I.T.C.H. is decent, but not kino - definitely not kino.
Everybody knows Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! is the better show

Attached: seething.jpg (256x256, 14K)

>Oban is created by a frog: of course it created with the Japanese - the French are the biggest weebs in existence.
And yet the French decided to work with Americans for the superior Jetix show. Funny that

>And like I said, W.I.T.C.H. is decent, but not kino - definitely not kino.
You're entitled to your opinion, but it's a shitty one. I'd suggest a rewatch

>So just air reruns? I'd be OK with that?
Well played, but the show is a vast improvement over the comics. And that's saying something given how good the comics are already

If I have to say, that's pretty autistic.

Now you need to stop Witchfag, it starts to get pretty pathetic. Stop spouting out that W.I.T.C.H. is better than it already is. It's ok, you hear me? It's ok. So let's calm down for a minute, ok.

Sorry Witchfag, but this user is the only based one here. Cow and Chicken is the truly unappreciated show here and you should know that. Fuck WITCH, Feiss' masterpiece only matters now!

>Look at this expecting complete nonsense
>Find myself basically agreeing with most of the points against Avatar

Now, to be fair, I've never thought of Avatar as highly as most of this board does, its plot in particular is defiantly very overrated, for the reasons given (it really is mostly an episodic show which technically has continuity because episoes frequently 'bleed' into each other and major progress occasionally happens). I also think of magical girl shows much more highly in general. But I still don't consider the WITCH cartoon to be all that good.

But then what are you comparing to? You can't name any cartoons that are better than both.

IME most people like you just compare it to anime which is ridiculous (and not Yea Forums)

Rude

But I already answered your question. You're redpilled enough to realize it's far better than people give it credit for - now read (or if you're lazy) for the blackpill.

Also, for the ultimate blackpill ITT:

>Why did this show stick in my head so much?
any dude who watched this always had it stick to lower head for good reason

To be fair, the main girls in this show are the best-written female characters in Western animation.

Personality matters too

Because it was good. Muh better than the overvalued ATLA, TT, AT.

The whole series is on YouTube.

youtu.be/mFSDE7WBMM0?list=PLibBG9QH40ugEAaVlld-YBGL2aQ1TcDFH

That version is terrible quality. At least post something watchable:
youtube.com/watch?v=GCs42Kp9vJw

I can see why people would compare them, but ATLA was better. The bending styles seemed to be a little more logical and they did a better job of worldbuilding. For example, most earthbenders on ATLA (other than Toph) could only move rocks. Cornelia's element is earth, but she can manipulate plants and wood and all types of material other than stone. Many of the girls' abilities don't really seem to fit their element.

>It's worse because it's different from what I grew up with and got used to as a "standard"

You know what really doesn't fit the element? Healing. Why the fuck waterbenders get healing is never even touched upon in ATLA except some vaguely implied bullshit about water being in the body - but you're not healing the water, you're healing the other parts of the body that aren't made of it! At least with bloodbending you're supposedly controlling a liquid (not that that makes much sense for the uses it has)...
BTW you're also wrong about earthbenders - sandbenders might ring a bell. But I digress.

OTOH in W.I.T.C.H. even the girls' secondary abilities are somehow logically fitting despite having nothing to do with elements in general. That's how you know there was some serious writing talent involved here - admittedly it's mostly from the comics in this case, but the show made it more interesting by restricting their powers until season 2 (and justifying it).

And the worldbuilding in W.I.T.C.H. is better too. The season 1 showrunners made over 20 original creatures for the series, while ATLA has... mix-and-match critters, and sky bison. How imaginative

I've always thought that healing would make more sense as an ability that would go along with fire, specifically, the "warm", "comforting", and "nurturing" aspects of it, along with "cleansing" and "purification".

Healing uses water bending to redirect the energy paths in the body (using chakras I suppose) to help the body increase its natural healing speed.

In the Legend of Korra, they added firebender healers. They used techniques like herbalism and submerging patients in hot springs water.

It makes more sense because fire is energy. Though it would probably go even better with energybending, but we all know ATLA couldn't do that...

As usual LOK took a mildly good idea and made it completely retarded by giving a SECOND type of bender healing abilities. (But maybe it's like W.I.T.C.H. where all the girls can fly and have super strength/durability? Nope, no healing earthbenders or airbenders to be found in LOK.)

First of all, that was never explained properly. Second, it's still retarded because it has nothing to do with the element of water, which was user's whole point in

Every nation could have their own variation of healing that tied in with their element or unique culture somehow. The airbenders would probably do something with meditation and chakras. I'm not sure about the Earth Kingdom - maybe something with crystals?

>that was never explained properly

They talked about it briefly at the end of season 1. Aang was learning fighting techniques from Master Pakku and Katara was mad because they stuck her in a first aid class with a bunch of really young girls. Katara's teacher was showing the girls the energy paths in the body on a mannequin.

A lot of general statements which could be countered by equally generalistic statements.
This is why critique, analysis and taste is actually hard as balls. You can't just state "it's good because: general reason, weak excuse, my taste".
If I wouldn't have watched Witch, ATLA, Teen Titans, Gargoyles, Totally Spies, Storm Hawks, Wakfu then maybe I would have agreed with him. The prose is clean and well worded, it sounds convincing, it doesn't bother going into utter technicalities and above your head concepts like I'd do.
If this was the Witchfag then he did a good job with his essay, but ... it's incredibly simple and lukewarm. It wouldn't win any awards when pitied against true talent. And I absolutely can counter this... when I will have time.

But hey I watched WITCH in my dub and had to keep waiting weekly for each episode to appear which skewed my perception a little. Maybe I'll give it another look, especially season 2 which I've missed a good portion of it.

>Just about the only way I can imagine anybody thinking ATLA is better is either they watched it during their formative years and can't remove the nostalgia goggles, or they just want to fuck the girls in that show.
I watched ATLA for the first time in my mid twenties, and W.I.T.C.H. when I was 30. Those sure as shit were past my formative years, and I'm definitely not a waifufag.

>A lot of general statements which could be countered by equally generalistic statements.
That's literally your shitpost, user. Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

As for my essay, you're full of shit. Just about every point is spelled out in detail right down to naming specific characters/people, and the few that aren't are obviously justifiable. I don't think it's even *possible* to get much more specific without introducing personal headcanons. But I'd definitely like to see you try...

Though if you're actually going to try to counter it I would highly suggest you watch the whole show from the beginning properly, or you'll just sound retarded. Here's a DVDRip link:
gist.github.com/ValdikSS/7cfd370136efbaa14e58

Did you finally learn how to phrase words together, Witchfag? The vocabulary and prose are improved, but you personality, tastes, conclusions are the same. Now you need to learn storytelling and directing.
>Just about every point is spelled out in detail right down to naming specific characters/people
Such never-before-seen detail, what you did were necessary for even starting a sound argument. And yes it is possible to get much more detailed than that. Does analyzing the pacing, activity value, directing skills, emotion, storytelling techniques tell you anything?
What emotions does Witch give you compared to say TAS Superman, Batman, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter?

I've constantly been a fan and critic of French+Japanese directors and constantly hated them for having decent to good graphics and atmosphere, but abysmally corny drama, plot twists, shit-tier dialogue, autistic behaviour, horrible logic, unsympathetic characters, disconnected visual-audio/storyboard-tier activity, etc. etc.

This has to be some new level of trolling... you're telling me EMOTIONS are more objective than pointing out actual facts? What the actual fuck!? If I'd written about emotions your shitposts might actually be worthwhile...

And yes, I did analyze the pacing, directing skills, and storytelling techniques. (No idea what "activity value" is - probably something you just made up.) Maybe you should actually READ my essay instead of skimming it smugly thinking "heh witchfag".

>French+Japanese
What does this have to do with anything? The show is French-American

Just for the record though, W.I.T.C.H. touches me on an emotional level in a way that LOTR or Harry Potter cannot even APPROACH. Those works are great in their own rights but they feel incredibly distant in comparison. But that's SUBJECTIVE and thus not essay-worthy

Well, then you might simply have shit taste. It does happen sometimes

Don’t shoot the messenger. That’s what the series says

Btw can keep this thread more about why this show/series sticks out more than it should, and less arguing about which other series are better?

The main reason I wrote the essay comparing it to ATLA is because Avatar is considered the greatest cartoon ever by most people, and yet the shows are so similar in concept but W.I.T.C.H. is clearly far superior.

So if you actually read what I'm saying you'll see that I'm very much answering "why this show/series sticks out more than it should" too.

I wasn't attacking anyone there. Only the shows

female cast

>And it had a good bit of technical issues.
Its "technical issues" have nothing on Avatar changing animation studios every other episode
And they were basically gone in season 2.

I'll post my commentary about the first episode in either 4 hours or 16 hours.

But basically it's just a shitty snarky western 2000s cartoon ala Ben 10 minus the animation and directing quality.
The techniques used are more similar to ATOM, Marathon's cartoons like Totally Spies, SRMTHFG, Sonic X, Jackie Chan Adventures than Japan.
Witch has a craptacular amount of problems which anyone who hates anime, Italian and French cartoons can instantly understand.

This cartoon together with Spectacular Spiderman showed off what a massive hack Greg Weisman is when there's nobody to help him out.

>I'll post my commentary about the first episode in either 4 hours or 16 hours.
If you're just gonna keep trolling, don't bother. On the other hand, if you watch it with an open mind I'd be very curious to read it as always.

You wrote an entire paragraph that seems to conflate the show with its animation... which wipes the floor with all those other, garbage shows you listed anyways. Even the ones that also use anime style.

>This cartoon together with Spectacular Spiderman showed off what a massive hack Greg Weisman is when there's nobody to help him out.
Greg Weisman was not involved in W.I.T.C.H. until season 2. Shows how much you know.

Also, Spectacular is an absolute clusterfuck compared to this - though it's still way better than any of those other shows you listed.

I thought user already said he's not a waifufag... or was that someone else?

I'm well aware of that scene. That's why I said "properly"

In any case that's not the main point there

One critiques the directing aspects of the show and the other critiques the storytelling aspects of the show.
pastebin.com/UrSNEK9R
pastebin.com/Z3kwJ2af

Unfortunately I was too lazy to add all the spaces to create organized paragraphs. You're free to do it yourselves. Still, I think this adds very well to the overall autism of analyzing this show. I suggest reading the last "paragraphs" of each pastebin, they each contain a good conclusion which you can quote on.

Attached: i2XMHaY.jpg (1920x1080, 620K)

user... I actually appreciate this even if I disagree with ~90% of it. Looking forward to later episodes.
That said - this is actual, unironic autism. But in a good way (mostly).

One MAJOR thing though: the show was written in English - you should've noticed the American writer names (as opposed to the French storyboarders). Pre-production with the voice tracks was done in English as well - I've seen some of the animatics. So you keep getting it backwards in your analysis - the English script and voices are the originals (which is why so many of them are by famous VAs btw) and the French version is a dub.

That's actually one of the reasons the show is so great IMO - most Euro shows force you to suffer through translations that pretty much never live up to the originals. Here you get English writing with French design...

I'll comment more if and when I get around to it - for now I'll just say I think you'll genuinely start to like this show if you keep watching based on your comments so far. Let it develop.

Following up: first of all, why aren't you watching the show in HQ already? Either use the torrent link or the YouTube link I posted if you're too lazy to download it. Both come from the DVDs, not potato quality TV rips.

>Same for Will in season 1, and even season 2.
Will is literally the most powerful character who isn't a standalone Heart by the end of the show

>Apparently the writer doesn't consider this anything but a dumb pre-teen cartoon show. This right here is your future, 2010s. I mean they could have autistically stayed silent for 5 hours in universe.
But in the directing part you said:
>French directing, everyone. They always assume that you know what happened instead of actually fucking showing you visually and through audio. These scenes could have easily been fixed by adding an extra audio line in post
MAKE UP YOUR FUCKING MIND user srsly

>Normally you make the action happen naturally by making the heroes discover the power accidentally or prove themselves instead of simply being handed the power. Not even Super Sentai shows and secret agent shows have this level of corny briefing and official "missions". Normally events have to happen more naturally than this.
Because this is NOT a "normal show". This is way better. So it does NOT treat your audience to the regular cliches - think for a second user, why would you WANT to see the exact same shit that (as you yourself admit) pretty much every other show has done?

>oh all that corny out loud exposition, but Phobos mentioning that he can spy through the power gem is too much?
Again user... make up your mind! Which is it?

I'll probably add more later

Is this your channel?

LMFAO no. If it were it certainly wouldn't have that TS garbage on it

It's just the only major channel with the DVD version, though the retard user ran it through waifu2x making it blobby shit for no reason. Still better than TV quality

The cartoon was kinda meh, but the original comics (or rather the Scholastic book adaptations of them) were some of my favorites when I was in middle school. They also motivated me to start drawing to try and match the artstyle, which at the time I thought was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen.

Too bad I gave up after like 3 months.

I haven't picked up a pencil to draw in 15 years.

>Scholastic book adaptations better than the show
If you were trying to insult me personally... YOU DID A VERY GOOD JOB FUCK. Now go rewatch the cartoon to make up for it, first impressions aren't everything.

Nigga I watched the entire show religiously when it aired, I liked it at the time but it hasn't aged that well.

And I mean I was first exposed to the series through the books, but I read the comics afterwards. They only adapted the first arc anyway I think.

>The voices are decent, but Phobos and Cedric's sound too alike, it's probably the same voice actor due to budget limitations.
If you can't tell apart Mitchell Whitfield from fucking Dee Bradley Baker... I'm not sure your analysis will hold up very well.

>Wakfu has you beaten at big titties and the special effects for every single episode.
Good thing W.I.T.C.H. doesn't try to excel in either of those useless shitty categories then. Oh and no those aren't the biggest boobs the show has to offer anyways, but given how poorly you remember it that might be a bit of a spoiler for you.

>TAS's Batman and Superman has you beaten at everything.
And then said user complains about MY essay not being specific enough... wow. Okay. Just for the record though Teen Titans > The Batman >>> any DCAU shit

>All my hopes and dreams of good flying choreography went down the gutter.
This is one of those things that really does get better in season 2 though

>No shit it's getting late, with that sun lowering down so fast your days must last 12 seconds.
Are you seriously complaining about not wasting screentime? WTF?

>What... no cool DEPOWERING transformation sequence?
Yes, no cool depowering transformation sequence... because it's much more important to CONVEY IMPORTANT INFO to the audience, like the fact their body size changes which isn't something that was obvious in the fancy transformation before. Pay attention

>Irma is calling out her own name, instead of Cornelia's.
That's probably an error, yes... except you still got it wrong somehow. It's Taranee speaking, so it's an ADR error - one of several to come I'm afraid. Given the animatics it's pretty clear they missed replacing a few scratch lines later on, sucks but shit like this happens when you produce a show on two different continents at the same time (which was kind of necessary to get native English VAs). They fixed it later on

More to come... maybe.

>Yeah this show has a lot of problems with transitioning and extending scenes. "Scene 1, ok done next, Scene 2, ok done next, Scene 3" really feels like a product on a conveyor belt in a factory, the scenes never have time to breathe. This episode is almost devoid of dialogue and character interaction.
AND I FUCKING LOVE IT. It's so different from literally every other fucking cartoon that seems to assume the audience is full of retards. This show flies through the bullshit because it takes the viewer as INTELLIGENT enough to get the shit that's obviously glossed over.

>It's one of those cartoons where you're practically reading a comic book/watching a slideshow because the characters never act and react in real time and with enough substance. Genuinely feels like 5 minutes pass instead of 20.
Oh there you go complaining about the opposite of what you just complained about again. Consistent inconsistency... nice.

>Will skips directly from being grabbed by Taranee to using the heart and then to snapping out of her fear to autistically say "Fire".
You... what? What did you even expect here?

>Oh yeah ATLA did this scene better with the Boiling Rock 2parter.
AHAHAHAHA don't get me started on that shit user. Just FYI though you're saying the episodes that literally FORGOT TWO CHARACTERS EXISTED did something better

>Unfortunately the show does not, evidenced incredibly well and painfully by Elyon being ignored and left as a secondary character, so hard that she willingly goes with Cedric/Phobos without a second thought.
Don't talk about shit you don't even remember.

>We find out the script writer prefers to write his characters as passive as possible. Normally in this scene any self-respecting spy/infiltrator would kill the guards instead of letting them sleep soundly.
Fuck you, this is still a kids show. Did you complain when the Gaang didn't murder anyone on-screen in ATLA? I thought not.

Fucking character limit

Forgot to add to the first point in that that was what made a particularly great first impression of the opening two-parter here for me - how fast everything flew by. Man it was refreshing to get a "kids show" that adults could watch without baby's first starter episode

>and then they fought for the rest of the series and made pathetic mistakes every single time
Actually they almost never did either UNLIKE LITERALLY EVERY OTHER CARTOON EVER which makes me wonder whether you watched this show at all or just read shit about it. In fact it's one of the many things that makes this show so great - one of the healthiest friendships ever seen on screen, and some of the most genuinely clever MCs as well.

>Is the grandma going to be their Uncle Iroh/tutor/mentor who actually teaches them everything? NO. She's retired
AND THAT'S A GOOD THING. Iroh is an awesome character but his presence really detracts from the kids in ATLA. Here these even younger girls learn the ropes completely on their own and it's awesome to watch how much more clever they are.

I do agree with you on some stuff, like some points on the designs (Will's lipstick could've been toned down, same for Cedric lmfao) and of course basically all of the very few positive things you pointed out.
But you seem to actively want to hate this show which is a bizarre mindset for a reviewer, and your "conclusion" at the end gets basically everything wrong. None of the shows you named can even hold a candle to W.I.T.C.H. in terms of writing. I'm sorry to say but you just have zero clue on the storytelling side, unlike the directing/storyboard/design/animation stuff where you occasionally make decent points.

Still look forward to more stuff from you though if only because W.I.T.C.H. debate is fun as fuck

>though the retard user ran it through waifu2x making it blobby shit for no reason

They may have done that to prevent YouTube from taking the channel down for copyright reasons.

This show doesn't stick out at all, maybe that's why staying "on topic" is not possible for most people.

W.I.T.C.H. is all over YouTube (though it's mostly the horrid US TV rips) and most of the videos are from years ago. It's pretty much never taken down much like the other Jetix shows - I think Disney never bothered to add them to its main content library.

And said user never mentioned anything about copyright in the comments either

Apart from Will (only because she has the key), Cornelia seems to be the strongest guardian. Is this accurate? Who would be the weakest?

I thought Weisman was just entertaining the idea of lesbian Irma for the TV version, but apparently, there's some basis to it in the comic.

They hinted at this in season 1. Irma teases Cornelia constantly. For Irma's first large-scale attempt at creating a water form, she attempts to create Cornelia's face. The other girls comment that it looks like "Cornelia with a broken nose" and Cornelia sulks because she thinks that they're all making fun of her.

The "basis" is people (mostly Americans - the Italians clearly get it) thinking that female friendships work like male ones. Girls can be outright touchy-feely with each other while being straight as arrows, as all the main girls here clearly are with their boyfriends (they're even more boy-crazy in the comics overall).

>Irma teases Cornelia constantly.
Because their personalities are set up for that. It's basically Straight Man and Wise Guy except with actual rounded characters who don't fit the tropes 100%.

In the very first episode, Irma winks at Will when Will reads her fortune of "making a new friend" and tells the other girls "I like her - she's funny and smart". Then in episode 4 Irma teases her with "pink poopy perky pumpkin" with her arm on her shoulder. Does that mean there's "something there" too? Of course not...

Same with Irma and Hay Lin making combo attacks that look like dance moves, and the joke that "you and me are the only ones without dates"... or Cornelia describing Elyon's dream guy as basically herself (and the camera focusing on her a bit too long to tease the audience just as it did with Caleb and Will)

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica > witch
Prove me wrong. You can't.
youtube.com/watch?v=OrgpX-_bFqM

I really meant sticking out to me, but if it did to anyone else (like this thread kind of shows) that should be fine too.

You keep shitposting this girly crap
Back to your containment board

>he doesn't know

Aw shit it's the other one, well you're still spamming. And W.I.T.C.H. does the "looks like a girl show but actually gets dark as fuck" way better because it knows where to stop.

So again, back to your board.

witch is shit compared to any random japanese magical girl show.

I don't know enough of those to draw a "random" one out of a hat, but if you're the same user who claimed CCS is better then seriously go back to Yea Forums. And I practically grew up watching that one

I bet you watched the English dub of Cardcaptor Sakura.

I bet you think I didn't try watching the original. Hint: it was painful - shit voices, SHIT music. And largely unnecessary - most cut scenes were cut for very good reason.

I can't imagine having taste this bad.

I can't imagine being so degenerate you wanted that shit in a kids show... fucking weeb importing Japanese degeneracy (though now the US is far worse in this sense if anything - how quickly things change).
Except the Sakura/Li romance, that should've been kept in the dub. That's really the only thing to watch the original for though.

Especially because the dub's music - literally some of the best music I've ever heard on TV let alone in animation - all the repeated card captures suddenly get that much blander.
The voices are a matter of taste, but the irony is not lost when the main complaint is about an 11-year-old voicing a 10-year-old character. To be quite frank dubs need to stop imitating the squeaky voice shit, American women have obviously lower voices on average than Japanese chicks so it sounds fake as fuck.

You do realize it was never intended to be a kids show? The target of Shoujo manga is teenage girls and young women.

1. We're talking about the anime, not the manga.
2. If it wasn't intended as a kids show, Japan is even more degenerate than I thought. Are you telling me it's normal for grown women there to watch a show with 10-year-old protagonists?
3. Degeneracy is not OK for adults either user
4. It was a kids show. Literally everyone knows that.

>1. We're talking about the anime, not the manga.
The anime is aimed at fans of the manga.
>2. If it wasn't intended as a kids show, Japan is even more degenerate than I thought. Are you telling me it's normal for grown women there to watch a show with 10-year-old protagonists?
Teenagers and women in their early 20's. The ages of the protagonist has never mattered.
>3. Degeneracy is not OK for adults either user
There is nothing degenerate about it.
>4. It was a kids show. Literally everyone knows that.
Only because the dub was changed too much. Same for stuff like Sailor Moon and Yugioh. They were never kids shows.

user, she straight-up confesses that she loved her inside and out right before that pic. It doesn't come off platonic in the slightest.

Winx was better

What the fuck? It's not fair.

Witchfag did literally nothing wrong. I really don't understand why is he treated like this.

The problem isn't that this guy is wrong. The problem is that time and effort spent in to polishing something doesn't mean it's going to be enjoyable. Just because you spent a lot of effort and time doesn't make something good. Putting more in doesn't necessarily make it betterwhich is why giving creative efforts less strict deadlines doesn't necessarily help shit. You can either deliver quality or you can't..

Whatever combination of things that make up both shows, Avatar is the one that's more enjoyable to watch. Unfair? Sure. True? Absolutely.

One of the major things in Avatar's favor is simply that it isn't trying to be hyper crunchy with it's cohesiveness. You see something like the swamp benders, get the reference, and smile a bit. Yeah you got that joke. You know what these people are about instantly too. They make no sense, but they are entertaining and easy to understand.

I think the problem is that he's visible without being a namefag. Also he started out by spamming W.I.T.C.H. threads

Was there talk about Disney rereleaseing it?
